You've GOT to do "Bad Company" by Bad Company. Yes, they did a song named after themselves. And it's AWESOME.
If I remember correctly the group Bad Company did the song Bad Company on the album Bad Company. Always good for a chuckle.
Totally Agree 👍
There best in my opinion.
Yes! I logged in to suggest "Bad Company".
I saw them live in Oklahoma City a couple years ago, and they still sounded excellent!!!
great idea, and while you're at it, Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
“Rock and Roll Fantasy”
“Bad Company” are must listens!
Yes, along with "Shooting Star".
Check out the cover of the Song Bad Company by Five Finger Death Punch
"Shooting Star" is one of my favorites from this amazing group - give it a try you won't be sorry.
Me too
Agreed 100%... my second fav after Feel Like Makin' Love
I love Shooting Star!!!
Brings me to tears.
He says: "Don't hang me up in your doorway. Don't hang me up like you do." He's saying, I'm coming over late, but don't stop me at the door. You two are dirty minded. LOL!
Am I the only one who doesn't know what the dirty version of those lyrics are ??!! 🤔 I usually get this stuff, like a lot of Led Zeps lyrics are really dirty.. but this one... 🤔😂
@@sallybannister6224 they are not dirty. They heard "hang me in your doorway" and thought autoerotic asphyxiation or something. Lol!
#Facts
Paul Rodgers BABY!!! One of the baddest Rock singers around! FYI, you've actually previewed him with his earlier band Free with Alright Now!
also Free "A little bit of Love" is A+
The man.
I love the self titled 'Bad Company' by Bad Company.
Also love the cover by Five Finger Death Punch
Best drop ever.
Paul Rodgers and Bad Company are excellent, but so far, no Badfinger? Add them to your list. They were a fantastic group that were signed to the Beatles' Apple records. Try "No Matter What" or "Day After Day' or the incredible original version of "Without You". A wonderful group yet the most tragic in rock history.
Bad Company originally wasn’t signed by Apple….they were the first to sign with Led Zep’s Swan Song….which did not last too long unfortunately….
@@kennethcamilleri4678 Reread my comment. I was referring to Badfinger. Not Bad Company.
I agree with you!!! Badfinger rocks!!!!! And as you said such a tragic story.... I'll suggest Badfinger too.
I love Badfinger too. What happened to them, It’s heartbreaking
Yes I agree we want a badfinger reaction ....the whole story behind the band is so sad, they were destined to become a massive impact on the music world !!!...all because of a greedy manager there lives changed tragically:(
Btw, the drummer was Simon Kirke who was with him in Free..Bad Company's 'Good Lovin Gone Bad' is another killer tune you should react to!
Good lovin gone bad is a awesome tune. I use to jam on that in highschool . I still jam to it. Never gets old.
I hope they play the song bad co. By bad co. I guess it could be confusing. I love these guys . Saw em twice.
Rock Steady is one of their big hits from this same album.
Paul Rogers has one of the best voices in rock. Try “Shooting Star” by Bad Company, or maybe even check out Paul Rogers first band. Free.
They did a reaction to "All Right Now" a couple months ago.
@@krisdoggett483 thank you, I was unaware.
@@randyhochstein8455 You're welcome
Rock n Roll Fantasy is a banger by them.
The drummer is Simon Kirk, you saw him and singer Paul Rodgers when you reacted to the band Free, and their song "All Right Now". Free broke up after their guitarist died of a drug overdose, and they formed Bad Company with Mott the Guitarist Mick Ralphs , and King Crimson Bassist Boz Burrell. Check out "Rock Steady", "Burning Sky", or "Shooting Star"
The FREE guitarist who died of a drug overdose was Paul Kossoff, who's dad was the actor David Kossoff
Totally untrue! Free broke-up in 1973 and Paul Kossoff who did indeed have a serious drug problem went on to form the band Back Street Crawler. Paul died in 1976, and it wasn't from an OD.
Listen to Free's All Right Now...
Not quite accurate - Free broke up in '73, when Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke went on to found Bad Company. Paul Kossof, the guitarist, went on to found the Back Street Crawlers but died three years later, in '76, of a pulmonary embolism. His epitaph at the crematorium simply reads "All Right Now". He was 25.
Mott the Hoople
Every garage band drummer in America learned this song in the 70s. So much fun to play.
All you needed back in ‘74 were 3 chords and a story. The good ol’ days. Damn how i miss them.
@@tonymusolino2369 I graduated in 74.
"Silver, Blue And Gold" should definitely be your next Bad CO. song. After that, do "Burning Sky."
After those two, jump to the lead singer (Paul Rodgers) with Jimmy Page in a band called The Firm. The two best songs there are, "Radioactive" and "Satisfaction Guaranteed."
Shooting Star!
Wow. Seriously, 'S, B and G' and then 'Burning Sky' would be the same two songs I'd recommend next. Mainly because they're my personal favorites from BC. Those two and 'Ready for Love'.
@@scottlaughlin9897 Definitely!!!
The Firm rocked
"Silver, Blue, and Gold" is my favorite Bad Company Song...also love "Moving On."
"Shooting Star" is a whole different vibe, but excellent song by Bad Company.
As suggested, I think if you do “Shooting Star”, and “Bad Company”; you will be held up to start going down that rabbit hole. Paul Rodgers rules!
Here's an interesting tidbit about the man you just heard singing, Paul Rodgers. Before Bad Company he was with a band called Free, and they did a song called All Right Now, perhaps you've heard it. After Bad Company, he formed one of the first "supergroups" called The Firm, composed of various musicians from other well-established bands. And mixed in there over the years he also had a couple of solo albums. I had one of those, and when I looked at the back cover, I was surprised and delighted to read this:
All Songs Written By Paul Rodgers
All Songs Sung By Paul Rodgers
All Instruments Played By Paul Rodgers
...making it truly a "solo album."
The man is seriously talented.
The great thing about Paul Rodgers is how clear his voice is.
I would add the Paul has the most underrated Rock voice of the 70’s and 80’s. He is very recognizable and has been the front man of Free, Bad Company and The Firm and others. All Right Now is one of the top rock songs of all time IMHO.
Saw him open for what was left of Skynyrd in the mid 90s
Paul Rogers voice is like a fine wine…it gets better with age.
Bad Company had many rock hits. Besides the 2 you've listened to, there's "Bad Company", "Moving On", "Ready for Love" as a starter. But my favorite is "Shooting Star" that tells a story of a young rock idol who shot up to fame, then succumbed to substance abuse. When it was released in 1975, many at that time saw it as a commentary on what happened to Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, & Jimi Hendrix. And the song has a killer guitar solo. Here's the link with lyrics. ua-cam.com/video/0kEDa6bXnA8/v-deo.html
I like the entire "Desolation Angels" album is THE BEST!!!
It was about Paul Kossoff, their bandmate from Free. Although he didn't die for another year he had already struggled so much with his drug addiction.
Jimmy Page, guitarist of Led Zeppelin, and Paul Rodgers, singer of Bad Company got together in 1985 and created the supergroup , "The Firm". Their song "Radioactive" was a good one.
Saw them live. So great.
Also Satisfaction Guaranteed
Saw Bad Company in Birmingham (UK) when they had just signed with Zeppelin's own Swansong label.
Page and Plant came on and did a session with Bad Co for the encore.
Amber, I love that your ear has gotten good enough to pick out musical eras by their guitar tones! Next Stops:
The Allman Brothers, "Jessica"
Norman Greenbaum, "Spirit in the Sky"
Eric Johnson, "Cliffs of Dover" (live)
Yes!
, "Spirit in the Sky" YES!
Second vote for JESSICA
@@kestrelle5345 Yes !!! I suggested Spiritual Sundays and this song was my first pick. Lots of great songs they could use, especially from this era.
@@feliciachaste Third vote for Jessica
Actually the line is “Don’t you hang me up in your door way, don’t hang me up like you do”. LOL!
Did you guys know that Paul Rodgers was the ONLY guest singer in Motown's 50th Anniversary?? Check out him singing with The Four Tops!! Amazing
Their song “Bad Company” (yes, same name as the band) has a different feel to it: just as badass, but less horny-sounding. ;)
😁😉
Don't forget the other one Bad Company by Bad Company from the album Bad Company lol
But Shooting Star is my favourite Bad Company track
Four songs you should really do
Bad Finger-- Baby Blue
The Raspberries-- Go All the Way
Argent-- Hold Your Head Up
Doobie Grey-- Drift Away
You will love each of them.
Extra Bonus
Sly and the Family Stone-- Everyday People
Three Dog Night-- Black and White
I know you won't play them but you should. They sum up 70's radio.
One of my favorite Bad Co songs is "Shooting Star".
I had the fortune of literally running into Paul Rodgers back in the late 90s at a small venue in San Diego. He was very pleasant and chatted with us for a while. Great band and singers!
Have you guys done Foghat? If not, try “I Just Want To Make Love To You” or “Slow Ride”
Or Maybelline.
I can add "Drivin' Wheel" and "Stone Blue" to the list too! So Jay and Amber, I guess you have to choose one :) Peace!
Must be the long version
How about Terraplane Blues, Nothin' I Won't Do, Honey Hush, Eight Days on the Road....!!!
Goin to the City
On this same album you might also like "Bad Company", "Shooting Star", "Silver,Blue, & Gold", "Rock & Roll Fantasy". Great album!!
No you won't. This song is off of their debut album. You will find those songs, plus this song, on their Greatest Hits album. The song 'Bad Company' you mentioned, was also on the debut album.
@@jayarr961 that’s the album I thought they were playing
This song was covered by bands at high school dances back in the '70's. It always got the kids in their bell bottoms off the wall and onto the gym floor! One of the great rockers for sure!
Bad Company was the first rock concert I ever went to back in 1979 in Las Vegas.
I've always been addicted to music. Been sooo healing throughout my 53 years of experiencing life. And now I'm further locked into my addiction of music by now being addicted to this channel. Sharing so many vibes harmonizing and vibrating on the same frequency; it's other worldly. Thank you for being so raw, authentic and passionate
One of the best voices in any genre
This is what you call Rock and Roll
Paul Rodgers......greatest rock voice ever!!!
"Running With the Pack" is one of my favorites, as well as "Bad Company" and some of the others mentioned.
Bad Company has a lot of great songs. "Movin' On" has great drum parts as well.
"Movin' On" sounds like a Foghat song.
Yes!
Paul Rodgers had such a voice on him ! And Amber, the drummers name was Simon Kirke. Thanks Guys.
Need to check out Black Oak Arkansas "Jim Dandy"
Yes ! Go, Jim Dandy, Go !!!
This whole album kicks ass!! Bad Company is a great song.
My parents were cool- this is the music they listened to when I was like 13. Good times...They would dance to this- high energy!
My kids also received a stellar rock and roll education!
This song has definitely been played on the juke in bars a lot, and to this very day in some bars. A couple song suggestions (same band):
*Burnin' Sky
*Ready for Love
(Both bangers with really cool vocals)
*Wild Fire Woman (just a feel good rock and roll song, the kind that makes you wanna move and sing along)
*Bad Company. (people are gonna bug you till you play it. It's a great song, I just like the above ones better. Probably just because I've heard it a few too many times over the decades. I mean a LOT. But you haven't, so...)
"Burnin' Sky" is my all time favorite BC track. Had a chance to see them with Styx and Billy Squire in 2001. Fabulous concert...
Simon Kirke (the drummer) and Paul Rodgers (vocals ) were both in Free prior to forming Bad Company ,with Guitarist Mick Ralphs of Mott the Hoople, and Bassist Boz Burrell of King Crimson....Rodgers is considered one of Rocks Greatest Voices....
"Silver, Blue and Gold" is a nice ballad by Bad Company. "Run With the Pack," "Evil Wind' and "Rock & Roll Fantasy" are also worth checking out.
Simon Kirke is my all-time favorite rock drummer. He's never mentioned when they talk about great rock drummers, which is such a crime. He was also the drummer for the band Free. Rock drumming doesn't get any better than in this song.
This was the first single from their first album. Great song. I was a freshman in college when this was charting.
I bet Amber would really like the band AIR SUPPLY, their songs ALL OUT OF LOVE and LOST IN LOVE!
This was my first favorite band. I became a drummer thanks to Simon Kirk. He plays a simple "trap" set (bass, snare, tom and floor tom) but has so much expression and knows how to put space in along with special little riffs that hook you. EVERYONE in this band could really play their instruments. Just spend some time listening to each one separately and you'll hear it... so fun and uplifting music!
Paul Rogers and Simon Kirke(drummer)from Free, Mick Ralphs from Mott the Hoople (guitar) and Boz Burrell from King Crimson (drums). Supergroup. Outstanding. The line is "Don't hang me up in your doorway" meaning "Don't stop me at your door...lemme in!" Cheers!
This is far better than 'Feel Like Makin' Love', as is 'Good Loving Gone Bad'. This was their first single back in 1974, which I most definitely bought. Great band. The drummer is Simon Kirke.
Paul Rodges is in his 70's , and his voice still sounds the same. I recommend watching him on UA-cam
You nailed it when you guessed it was a juke box favourite---it was! It's great, pure, dominant, eternal, everlasting rock and roll, hitting hard with love on all...FOUR...cylinders. Close to 50 years later and STILL enjoy it. NEVER tire of it.
Simon Kirke is Bad Co's drummer and he's a powerhouse in concert.
"Bad Company" by Bad Company is my favorite song of theirs.
The sound of my 80's...we partied so much to this album! Bad Company, Electric Land, Ready For Love, Shooting Star...so many great ones!
Bad Company's lead singer is Paul Rogers. He also sang for Free (All Right Now) and for The Firm (with Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page). My favorite Bad Company songs are "Silver, Blue, and Gold" and "Moving On." They both remind me of good times being a teenager. I saw Bad Company right after Rogers left to form The Firm...they opened for Deep Purple and were booed off the stage. I saw Rogers sing with Queen. Great show.
The Firm were awesome.
Love watching you two rocking out. Try Lynyrd Skynyrd - Call Me the Breeze. You will be jamming out.
Always a popular number at Cleo's. May I suggest Nazareth's "This Flight Tonight" - it's a Joni Mitchell song that they really made their own. So much so that Joni used to introduce it in her own set as 'Here's a Nazareth number'. As with most stuff, best to watch a live version.
Their best ones are their title song Bad Company (by Bad Company) and Shooting Star!! Thanks for all of the awesome reactions.
When I clicked on this, I didn't expect to burst into tears! Don't worry, they were useful tears. You are right about this song being a great bar song. My late husband, Stan and I used to play this in our band "Stay" (I threw in a harmony part that wasn't on the original) and it would always pack the dance floor! There's even a video somewhere on UA-cam of us doing this at the Squid Festival in Monterey. Thanks for the memories!
For a well-told story by Bad Company, check out "Shooting Star".
The line is "Don't hang me up in your doorway." In other words, "let me come in to your home and hangout."
Exactly
Each of these guys was a quarter of the whole.
They were a perfect band that was ruling in the 70s, and one of the greatest bands ever.
No, he said "don't hang me up in the doorway" as in don't keep me outside waiting.
Anyway, you've actually heard Paul Rogers three times because he was also the singer on "All Right Now" by Free. He also went on to front Queen on tour for a while after Freddie Mercury passed away.
Back in the day when this song was new, long before the internet, i remember waiting anxiously for this song to come on the radio, just to hear that first guitar power chord to blast with that long sustaining chord, awesome. Then i got the record for Christmas, and I still have it, and one of the first few songs i learned on drums, when i started way back in 1975
I know you like 70s music so I highly recommend The Spinners, "I'll be Around". This song puts a smile on my face every time I hear it.
That opening guitar riff off of the bingo drums, followed by the majestic lead singer's voice and the rest, yes yes yes, the early '70's soul sound, puts you back there for a quick breath of fresh air.
Incredible song. Another one of their 5 best, and also one of the 50 greatest Rock songs of all-time.
Paul Rodgers is an elite voice in rock history.
Definitely try " Bad Company" and " Shooting Star" by this band. Nice reaction guys.Thank you.
When I was teenager back in the 80s my band used to play this song - always got the crowd moving.
One of the most haunting voices in music they say Paul has.
Underrated band!
Had all their 8 tracks!
The gentlemen responsible for this cool song and the sounds it gives forth...
Vocals - Paul Rodgers
Lead Guitar - Mick Ralphs
Bass Guitar - Boz Burrell
and dem drums - Simon Kirke .... there ya go
“Burning Sky” by Bad Company is a good one. If you want to hear something from them with a different tempo, on the softer side so to speak, “Seagull” is that song. “Silver, Blue, and Gold” and “Don’t Let Me Down,” are 👍
Paul Rodgers=One of the greatest singers in Rock :)
Absolutely! If you've never listened to his Muddy Waters Blues CD, It's a real treat.
In 1974, I heard the title of the album, "Bad Company." Like I usefully did, when I heard a song played on WNEW-FM, Radio, New York City I loved, I immediately bought the album. I had every album Bad Company made. What's really weird, I didn't get to see them in concert until 2009. The concert was at Joans Beach, in Long Island, NY. The Doobie Brothers opened for them. Both bands were awesome.
From Wikipedia, The original lineup of Bad Company consisted of four seasoned musicians: two former members of Free, singer Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke; former Mott the Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs; and ex-King Crimson bassist Boz Burrell.
Just a great band born out of Free. Saw them live twice, in the UK, astonishing live band
This band was originally called FREE in the early 60's, one to try is, Free - Wishing Well. the drummer here is Simon Kirke. P.S. lived about half a mile from Paul Rogers when we were kids.
Free and Bad Company were different groups, although they both had the same singer and drummer.
@@waynekasmar4401 Yea, i know that, but after Paul Kossof died i guess things changed.
Paul Rodgers had perfect pitch and sounds the same live as recorded. One the greatest rock voices!!
Bad Company was actually a UK supergroup, made of of lead singer Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke from Free, guitarist Mick Ralphs from Mott The Hoople and bassist Boz Burrell from King Crimson. They recorded for Led Zeppelin's record company Swan Song and were managed by Zeppelin's manager Peter Grant. They recoorded their fair share of bangers about, well, banging. But they also did slower thoughtful songs like Shooting Star and Silver Blue And Gold.
anything from their "10 from six" album is going to be a good song to react to
Also, have a listen to the haunting melodic song "Seagull" from the same album you're listening to here. Beautiful track with an awesome vocal.
Burnin' Sky is one of my favorites by Bad Company. Rock Steady!!!
My High School Band The drummer is Simon Kirk , singer & guitar is the great Paul Rogers., lead guitarist is Mick Ralph & the late Boz Burell on bass. One of the early Super Groups Simon & Paul came from “Free” Mick is from “ Mott The Hopple” and Boz is from King Crimson Check out “ Ready for Love “.-“ ElectricLand”- “ Burning Sky”. Great Rabbit hole to go down. Paul is one of the great vocalist in music , the guys got a lot of soul in his voice.
This album, (their debut), and their 2nd album, "Straight Shooter" are both excellent, no filler.
Off of Straight Shooter, listen to "Shooting Star" and try my favorite, which was a hit but then kind of forgotten and not really covered by reactors today, "Wild Fire Woman".
Next has got to be the song “Bad Company”. It’s a masterpiece!
Amber, that is Simon Kiirke on the drums. The singer Paul Rodgers and the drummer Simon Kirke had a band called Free and they had a big hit called All Right Now. That would be a good reaction video.
The drummer is Simon Kirke. The rest of the band is Paul Rodgers singing, Boz Burrell on bass, and Mick Ralphs on guitar.
Paul Rodgers is the singer you liked when you listened to All Right Now by Free. He later formed Bad Company with the drummer Simon Kirke from Free and this was his first record with them.
Try Rock n' Roll Fantasy next by this group
Oh man... Bad Company is absolutely good for the soul. There songs are so seduce-y!!!! You MUST hear "Ready For Love", "She Brings Me Love" and "Bad Company"
Rob look like he's ready to get a drum kit & play!!! Loved this reaction!!!
Simon Kirke is their drummer and he is amazing...He really has his own thing going on...
Their song Bad Company is really fantastic and the vocals are amazing in it
this truly is one of the greatest classic rock bands of all time. just pick and song from any of their 1970's albums, nothing but classics. they had a different singer in the 80's, still pretty good but no where near the same. check out - burnin' sky, - shooting star, - love me somebody, - fade away, - run with the pack or the song - bad company. that should give you a feel of how good they are. the drummer's simon kirke, he was also with paul rodgers ( the singer ) in the band free. but going back to bad co, this is the band that you guys will get caught going down the ol' rabbit hole with, enjoying every second. if you ask 10 different people - what's your favorite bad co. song, you'll get at least 7 or 8 different answers. the lyric was - don't you hang me up in your hallway ( don't keep him waiting outside ).
I guarantee Amber would love Silver Blue and Gold if she ever listens to it. God Bless kids.
Saw Queen + Paul Rogers which was great as they also played 4 Bad Company songs. Sat behind Paul Rogers at a Vancouver Canucks playoff game back in 2011. Told him I was a big fan and he said "Thanks man!". He became a Canadian citizen and lives in the Vancouver area.
We’re glad to see you were so cracked up!
Back when this song came out you could pick 3 songs for 25 cents at the bars.
The 3 juke box picks for me in ‘74 were…
#1 cant get enough…bad company
#2 i shot the sheriff…eric clapton
#3 fire…ohio players
LOVE Bad Company!! Their music library is absolutely amazing!
Congrats.....you figured out Simon Kirke is a phenomenal drummer!!!
