My name is David and with my dog Lefty we travel the country in our ambulance conversion RV. I made this change to my life and you can too! Like, subscribe and comment! Lefty would appreciate it - he wants the adventures to keep coming!
The Campulance is a 2002 Ford E450 Marque Commando 164 Class III ambulance powered by the Ford 7.3l Powerstroke turbo diesel engine and a 4 speed 4R100 transmission. Lefty is a 68lb American Staffordshire Terrier (best I can tell) that came from the Verona Street Animal Shelter (www.vsas.org/) in March 2014 at the age of 9 months. We have been living full time in the campulance since July 2019. #ambulancelife #vanlife #staffordshireterrier
Yes. The water on our Earth today is the same water that’s been here for nearly 5 billion years.
Happy New Year to you and Lefty my friend 🎉. I too retired abruptly. I was also in management in a very stressful environment. I visited my physician due to my health condition and he basically told me that I will basically die if I do not leave the environment that I am in. BOOOOOOOM! A day later I retired just a flick of my finger and here I am now stress free and enjoying life with my dog Bella.
I retired early as well. I worked as an IT network manager, and I was basically at boiling point plus 100. Too many years, too many late nights, too many projects, too much work, not enough rest.
I'm glad you got out before it was too late. There's too many stories of people working themselves to the end :/
I did the exact same thing. I was on my way to work, pulled over the side of the road and pulled out my phone and retired. I turned around, went home and never looked back. NOT 1 day of regret, only peace and health and bliss. My brother-in-law retired last April and was dead in early August. He was only 62. Very stressful job and it killed him. No job or career is worth your life. Downsize, get out before it's too late. It works out people. And you will find your bliss.
@@meatdog Yes! I stayed up until 3AM working on something else and happened upon some expired certificates on servers that were not my responsibility. So, I renewed, installed and tested them. I was just being nice and doing the responsible thing. Did I get a thank you for the catch the next day? NO! I got schooled in the middle of a conference call because I didn't fix the rest of them that I didn't know existed. They asked me, "Is that all you have to say for yourself?" I said, "I don't know what to say." It was the last straw. I went in and retired immediately after the meeting. They begged me to stay, and I refused.
Downsizing is the key. Save your money people. Your boss doesn't care about you. Why do you care about them so much?
@@BalokLives @BalokLives
Such a typical scenario. Earning lots of money for the selfish few with no respect for those who are doing great work is not worth ones life. I practiced family medicine in a very respectful and caring concern for all my patients in a corporate medicine setting was so frustrating. Being forced to see 60 people a day is not my idea of how to deliver quality care. I burned out and said I'm done and retired on my way to the clinic. It's self preservation. I'm sorry you were so disrespected. Stay happy and healthy. See ya happily traveling the roads, metaphorically.
It’s not just you, I think it’s a common human condition. It takes me awhile when I go camping or travel to realize I don’t have to be somewhere or meet a client or run out the door to do something etc.
It’s wonderful 😊
It's unfortunate that we have to kind of force ourselves to unplug
Oh my gosh. So dangerous to spray that fuel on a flame. The flame 🔥 can follow the stream back to the fuel bottle... then you're in for it💥 Happy New Year David & Lefty, the very best to you🎉
I’m hanging In Quartzite too. My first visit and plans for the RTR coming up. Have fun and Happy New Year everyone 🌹☮️🎁
Happy New Year to you and Lefty. I was 14yo in 76 and I too have a fashionista only child daughter. I feel your pain brother. They know we mean well, so don’t worry about that little attention to detail memory lapse. Mine likes to remind me that someday she’ll be the one picking out my retirement home. 🤔
I resemble that remark! Lol.
I'm 62. I'll be seeing ya in the Q. In my Van With my Pug Cooper.
You are correct David. Every drop of water stays on earth, the amount is constant. Less than 1% of Earth's water is freshwater that is easily accessible to us to meet our needs, and most of that water is replenished by precipitation.
Hi David and Lefty! That sounds like great weather, not super hot and not snowing. Google told me to tell you "The Earth's oceans have lost about a quarter of their original mass over the course of four billion years. However, the planet is at a far enough distance from the sun that it does not lose its water. "
Right even the water in people's bodies after
Dave, I enjoy watching and learning from you about boondocking. I am 62 and am just started my life living full time in my shuttle bus. I am in Quartzsite currently and I must admit I feel overwhelmed at times but I'm doing OK. I wish I had someone knowledgeable about this lifestyle I could talk to but watching your videos helps alot, so thanks! Happy New Year!
Take each day as a learning experience. As each challenge arises, solve it. Soon, the challenges will be less and less frequent until they all but dissappear. It can take time but everything is solvable :)
You're right, David. You are essentially describing the hydrologic cycle in which water is recycled endlessly from sky to ground to ocean and back to sky. Earth neither loses nor gains water. Theoretically water could possibly escape into space, but because of our atmosphere (as you said) water vapor just goes high enough to freeze and fall back to earth as ice crystals. Mars shows what happens to water without a planetary atmosphere.
Good riddance to 2023!!! Had neuropathy for months, broke my shoulder falling down a hill, suffered a stroke. Incredible! No more in ‘24!!!
24 will be better for you!
Love that slow jazz music 🎷
With Lefty's popularity and exponentially increasing donations of food and snacks and toy, now might be the proper time for Lefty to buy himself a trailer for you to tow benind the ambulance. It can be Lefty's Castle, in which he can reign over his kingdom amid his Royal Stuff. You can be his Official Chauffeur, and Chain Holder and Walker / Royal Escort / Bodyguard.
He needs to have a trailer for all of his gear and snacks :)))
Barry, the Sausages were wonderful. JimO
You are correct about all the water on earth.
Happy New Years to you and Lefty. I was a home owner in California and one time I asked a licensed contractor to put in a rainwater catching system on my property. He said "oh no. That's illegal in this state because the California Water Resources Board said they invested in water saving techniques, cloud seeding, diversion canals for water runoff, aqueducts, dams and such. Your taking revenue from them. " Even putting a 5 gallon bucket while it's raining is illegal. So during the years we conserved water usage, the California Water Resource Board was "losing" revenue so they imposed an increase in water fees to offset it. We got penalized for using too much and we got penalized for using too little.
Oh wow, that is a little crazy.
Happy New Year!🎉 May you all have an abundance of blessings in 2024.🌻🌵🇺🇸🙏
In 1976 I was an Australian but my father was working in Washington DC and I was in grade 3 in Bethesda Maryland. We had lots of parties with the Embassy scene, disco was big.
Happy New Year! Stay safe and I hope it warms up a little for you. As for Lefty, a dog never has too many treats!
I just need bigger cabinets :)))
Your right about the water
You are correct regarding water. There is a finite amount of water. It continues to recycle over and over. Amazing thought.
David, made it back safely in three days (1,652 miles). Thanks for everything. JimO
That's great Jim! I'll get your package on the way. I'll send you the tracking when its shipped.
We still have a set of World Book Encyclopedias from 1976 that are Red, White and Blue. Then when I got to High School, My teachers said that they were not good enough.
Happy New Year! Everyone deserves a break even you. Looking forward to your 2024 adventures!
Love your interaction with Lucky. We lovers of our animal friends completely enjoy it. He is a very expressive person 😂 and it’s cool how he TALKS to you. Myest friend is also a canine friend. I love him so. Lucky reminds me of Barron. And you talk to Lucky as I talk to Barron. Never stop talking to and about him.
Lefty and David, I hope that 2024 is good for you both. The weather will get better...
Happy New Year. I hope 2024 is an excellent year for both of you!
The same sentiments to you and lefty
Yes intill we went to space all the water was here.
Wow you were 9 yrs old in 1973 when I graduated high school. 2023 was my 50 yr. High school reunion. Feeling old!👩🦳😂
I'm getting old myself :/
10:30 as I understand it that is pretty much true for the most part.
It's always good to take a little break from your routine.
You're right about the water! Most of it IS still in our atmosphere. Mars has less gravity, for instance, so its atmosphere is not as "well held together," so more of the water escapes(d). Mars had more water at one time (it's not clear how much, but we know it had it), but more of it floated away.
Happy new year, David and Lefty. Your theory about the water sounds good to me. Every time you show lefty sleeping and you’re rubbing his nose and everything starts putting me to sleep there’s something comforting about that having a dog next just kind of rubbing on it.
I think it's great how dogs are made to enjoy getting rubbed - cause we like to rub on them :)
My dog Bella, is my comfort and my therapist. We share that job. I'm her therapist too as she was a rescue 7 1/2 years ago. Can't wait to start taking her to work with me and eventually retiring or at least cutting way back in 2 years. Happy New Year!
David you are correct all water that has ever been on Earth since the beginning is still here today. No water has ever left our atmosphere except for what the astronauts have used. We have had water added to the Earth from comets and meteors as they enter the atmosphere. So yes we are using the same water that was here when Earth was created to this day .
Thanks, David and Lefty, Happy New Year 👍
I think Lefty was in the driver seat with his nose on the dash telling you let’s go for a ride
You are correct about the water. It is a cycle on Earth.
We are glad you are with friends.
The threads on your aquatainer water jug aren’t common pipe threads. They are unique to aquatainer. They are close to a common pipe thread size, but different. I actually needed garden hose thread on mine, so I heated the fitting and (melted) threaded it in there and it’s been working great.
I think Jeff did the same with his :)
I like your observation about the precipitation of evaporating and staying in the atmosphere. Nature is a great recycling model. The moisture cannot get out of the Earth's atmosphere. Happy New Year.
Lefty is so happy, he skips! ♥️
Yes, water also holds memory! Happy New Year🎉
Hi Dave, Happy New Year, glad to see you relaxing and taking it easy. Every year you appear to look younger, the nomad life agrees with you. Stress is the ultimate killer in my opinion and I remember your early videos you looked so stressed out deciding whether or not to take the plunge. Today I turn 74 and I'm planning on doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, or at least it's at the top of my list. The only plan is to get to the store and stock up for our first big snow this weekend. We're supposed to get up to a foot of the white stuff and will be thinking about you enjoying the weather in the desert. Stay well, be safe and give Lefty a hug for me. See you soon...
There's nothing better than being warm and comfortable when it's cold and snowy outside :)
My husband and I follow you. We decided to come out and visit. We are at the 2 1/2 mile marker 4 rows in.
My dog always makes that sound too when she wants the cat to play with her. While the cat is not a big fan of playing with my german shepherd the cat has gotten use to the dog and they have learned to get along with each other. Happy new year and safe travels to you and lefty.
Happy New Year 2024 Dave and Lefty. Wishing you and Lefty health, Joy and love.
Ahhh so lefty’s learning to drive ❤😂😂
He jumps in my chair when I'm in the store usually! He's beeped the horn at me too a couple of times :)
Hi David
Nancy and Paul stevens here, we sent you a late Xmas gift and it was delivered. Just letting you know
76, I was graduating high school.
Wishing you the best of 2024! Happy New Year!
It absolutely takes a lot of time to unwind. I still work but semi retired, my busiest time of year for me is in the fall. I literally have to tell myself to slow down. Getting older has many benefits but difficulties too. ❤
I do the same - I have to tell myself to just unwind.
@@TheCampulanceMan It is hard to do. That seems so silly but it’s true. 😊
David we are drinking the same water the dinosaurs did!! Happy New Year 🎉
Happy New Year David and Lefty.
Deep thoughts today (on the water). Since we couldn't make the AZ trip this winter we'll miss the Big Tent events and the rocks of course. Best Wishes in 2024!!!
Hello from Puerto Rico friends, hippy New year
Happy New Year. Good to see you and your comedian. Lefty is human. Yes 76 great year. ❤❤
happy new year. didn't know you'd spent time in Fresno. moved from that area four years ago to southern AZ. yes, water rationing was (and still is) something folks deal with in the central valley
Happy New Year 2024 Dave and Lefty.👍👍
Safe travels in 2024😊
My Internet reception is bad during the day here so Happy New Year neighbor. 😊 I have been getting itchy feet the last few days. I guess one month while out on the road winters might be my limit! 😮 Sticking around for the show but might go north. I miss seeing water. We are spoiled in WNY with the Great Lakes. Yes to your wondering. We use the dinosaurs water. I read that recently. Mind boggling huh?!😊
Such a pleasant 💕 video visit with you both. Many Good Blessings for a great 2024!
SHALOM (PEACE AND FREEDOM) ALWAYS.
Happy new year, David and Lefty. Thank you for all the videos and sharing your life with us.
🎉 Happy New Year!🎉
Happy New Year
Happy new years 2024 you are year younger than I, we are old man.are you 62 I'm 61 older nomads.
Love the intro tune. A very happy NY to you and Lefty and your family. X:)
Same to you!
Yes it moves and changes form
As a geologist, I can confirm that your statement about water is pretty much correct. A very little might potentially escape from the upper atmosphere into space but that would be insignificant if at all. Certain regions of the atmosphere are very cold which basically prevents water from escaping. The mechanism for water escaping would be due to the disassociation by radiation of the Hydrogen from the Oxygen in the water molecule. Hydrogen does escape to space but the Oxygen remains. This results in around 250 tons of Hydrogen lost to space per day. The Earth is very efficient at keeping its water. The Earth is actually gaining a bit of water from bombardment from space ice and such. Per some new research, some water molecules on the Earth are actually older than the Earth itself. I find that fascinating. Happy New Year to you and Lefty!
Great info, thank you!
Hi David and Lefty: Happy New Year . Over shopping was always a problem for me when I stayed in the class A. I'd always overfill the refrigerator. Not so much on the dry goods because, well, it was a class A , so plenty of storage to go around.
I have to be careful on the shopping... but I always seem to overstock just a bit :)
Hi David, I emailed you. Thanks! I remember so well 1976, think I was 16, and they sold pewter products and my mom bought some, pewter for the Bicentennial stuff. Plates, cups etc. Life was a lot easier back then.
My mom had all kinds of pewter things back then! It must have been a fad :)
@@TheCampulanceMan I believe it was! Lol
God bless.
Happy New Year.
Happy New Year to you and Lefty! It's funny that you mentioned that you worked in Fresno. I grew up in the area. For as long as I can remember, water has always been an issue in the Central Valley. My childhood home never had a water meter but every year they would always talk about putting them in. Here in Florida watering lawns are done in odd and even days.
Happy New Year. I bet it will take me at least a year to decompress when I finally hit the road.
As someone who took an entire year off to travel, i can tell you it will be at least a month and then one day you will realize that you are on YOUR time with no schedule. And that one moment is the one you realize that you have been living life all wrong and it will be impossible to ever go back to your normal soul sucking job. It’s at that point that traveling is forever ingrained in who you are.
Happy New Year! Wishing you good health and prosperity in 2024.
I hear you about taking a while to unwind? I'm disabled I was setting my alarm for at least a year or more before I finally said the same thing why am I getting up at 5am other than sunrise. Somedays, I get up early. Somedays Journey lets me sleep until 9 ! Takes awhile to get the rat race out of you. Happy New Year, my friend. No more treats for you for awhile Lefty! 😂
If I sleep too late, Lefty gets me going :)
Happy New Year David & Lefty! Take care and stay safe!✨❤️🙏🏼👍🏼👍🏼✌🏼❤️🐶❤️
I would say yes, you are correct about water. We are under a dome I believe where water stays in.
Happy Year to and Lefty
Happy healthy new year David. Thank you for your content.
Once water evaporates, that's it..its gone and doesn't go up ☝ or anywhere else lol. The desert has a unique arid eco system,
Belated Happy New Year 🎉
Yeah I think you are right about water. Some Roman took a piss and we're drinking it. Lol
Haha :)))
Happy New Year...
Happy new year and I love UGG products.
They're so pricey though!!!
Happy New Year to you both! 🎉

Hi David happy new year to you and Lefty
Happy New Year. Love Lefty's little airplane ears bouncing as he trots. 😊 Qanon lady though...🤨
HNY! Lefty was trying to tell Pam to not squirt lighter fluid on a going fire
Happy new year!!!😊
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you and Mr. Lefty!!
You are correct about the water The water shortage is man made, With the spraying of aerosolized aluminum (which is a desiccant) and HARP placing a high pressure over California, and sending water out into the estuary, This year is the year of La Nino so you will be seeing more moisture in the area as well as help for California.
It's more humid here than we've seen in past years. I like it :)
Happy New Year David. Thanks for doing all these videos.
Happy New Year U two!
You ponder the same questions I do. But I do not know the answer to the water question. Would say you are on to something.
Happy new year
Happy New Year to You and Lefty.
David here in Central Minnesota we had very little snow this year last week had rain for 4 days
They are not talking about be low zero kind of nice
It's 27 today first of the year should be a short winter
Between Duluth and the Iron Range I just finished raking my lawn 2 days ago and now have 1/4" of snow and today 29 F, no matter what is left it will be a shorter winter for us. Not sure what this will do to our spring and summer.
