😄Had me laughing with your comment "Like rush hour here, one car every thirty minutes!" and with Lefty's expression with his boots on🥰Thank you for taking us along on your beautiful scenic walk.
Hello my friend, same thoughts here . . . 5 years ago I was in management working 7 days a week 16 hours a day. I think I already shared this with you when I started following you getting ready to get you Campulance. My doctor pretty much told me that if I do not retired that I was going to die. Well, I retired the same day after my doctor’s appointment. Lord and behold, it changed my life being retired, became more healthy and happier. Take care and always be safe David and Lefty.
You can be totally satisfied with the reality of your days you have created for Lefty and yourself. A lot of live vicariously through daily activities. Respect and smell the coffee.
I have been in Quartzsite for a month for the first time. It was like113° when I first got here. Now the weather is perfect. Getting ready to head to La Posa South in three weeks. Trying to figure out the area: Quartzsite, Parker, Blythe. Beautiful sunsets.
Thanks David for the warning regarding those little cactus plants. There are a lot of little red ones here in the desert. Gotta keep my hound dog clear of those. I’m gaining a true appreciation for this type of nomad life that you have mentioned in this latest video! Great meeting you the other day! A very surreal moment for me and a pleasure. Would have never thought it possible. 👍
Colorado is beautiful. It is easy to get so caught up in the views that you forget about elevation and distance. Next thing you know, you are winded and still have to make it back to camp. I enjoy your walks with Lefty. He seems to enjoy them. Thanks for letting us come along. I will be headed to Quartzite in January. I hope to see you. Safe travels
The leash waiting for you in Arizona has a bungie cord attached to the leash so the release from Lefty's harness through the leash and to your hands Dave will make it so much smoother. :) Thanks for showing us Colorado! You would love Nevada too! :)
Great thoughts. I have spent the last eighteen months dealing with something but seems like all good now. Will be heading south very soon. Have to smell the roses everyday.
I work at tower sites all over the country, but here in my home of Florida, I have to be wary of towers next to bodies of water. The local raptors love to eat their catches on towers and drop the bones. The reason I have to carry tire plug kits. I’ve had flats and work shoes penetrated by these sharp bones and these bones blend in with the lime rock roads and parking areas. Along those same lines, Sand spurs are famous for getting caught up in ropes and anyone here who handles ropes that touch the ground, will wear leather gloves. Remember that you are 8000’ or so higher than Rochester? Don’t worry too much about being a little winded while out walking, you and Lefty are doing great.
Thanks for bringing us along, excellent commentary. You never said if you tightened up those 2 screws for the water faucet. Yet the story is hilarious and reminded me of my many "one thing" adventures. Many thanks U2!!
Hi David and Lefty: Thank you for another fun video. Really liked the drone footage at the end. Looked like it had difficulty following you when you ducked under that tree branch. May God keep your travels safe.
Thank you for taking us with you on your walk. Really enjoy the views that you showed us. Great video at the end with the drone. Be careful and safe travels. Big hugs to Lefty. 🤗🐾
So envious, I love Colorado. A beautiful and peaceful place out around the mountains. My husband and I love being up in the mountains. U R right U never know when it comes to an end. We are in our early 70's so the hikes are shorter and the elevation bothers us a little more. Enjoyed the video!
I've got that same harness for my Sabrina now and it's helped so much to keep her untangled in the rope. Imagine doing this with a blind dog. LOL. That's what I do. I can't let her get out ahead as much as you because I have to keep her from crashing into stuff. But I do the same thing. Always flopping the rope around or over something to keep her from winding around it. Hard to do with a camera in one hand.
Love your hat. I just bought the new silver coin. :-) Carry a comb to flick off the cactii and needlenose plyers to pull out any stubborn leftovers. They work great.
i use a 20’ blaze orange hunting dog training leash from ugly dog hunting ,thats like smooth ruber type material. its made to not get hung up on anything👍. great training leash.

My grandmother's had 10 kids andived on farms. You just worked your way through from one thing to the next. Had a day for a main choreike laundry etc everything else you just worked your way along.
Hi David, my goal is to be in position to go to Quartzite next year! I'll still be working my business but it's slow in the winter months hopefully i can get away for a few months 🙏 I'm concerned about your cardio health......you have to exercise the heart, get your heart rate up to 80% of max a few hours a week.Get a mountain bike or gravel bike and get to pedaling my brother!🇺🇸 I'm going to have to tow a trailer to carry my bicycles and motorcycle but I have to have them for my health and sanity 😎🤙🏻 I'll be towing with my 2000 E450 7.3! Legendary 😎
i'm going to try and get out of here for Q in the next 3 to 4 days.. just waiting on a package at this point or i would of left already.. i'm looking forward to the desert this year for some reason.. :)
I have stayed in that area with my dog Sadie who is a German shorthair pointer mix with a lab you’re right those things are nasty right through your shoe and getting them out of the dogs paws not easy beautiful area otherwise
@ I have the black one that a friend gave me, over 30 years ago. I pack it in my backpack when I go hiking and pack it along when I go fishing, cut bait and use the pliers when the fish swallows my hook.
@@shannonagain3 Please look up: "Problems with retractable leashes". They can explain much better than I. But I would like to tell you about one instance they didn't cover. I live in a Senior Living Complex with my dog. There were cases especially on the elevator where dogs would tangle up leashes. Yes, this can happen with non retractable leashes but they seem to be harder to untangle. One day a dog circled around a lady and had her trapped. When the elevator opened she stood dtoll but other people not realizing started crowding off. She fell and broke her hip. She recovered but was never the same. Soon after our establishment banned retractable leashes. And yes, at the time I had one which I immediately threw away. Suprized you haven't heard these stories as I thought it was common knowledge. Maybe it's because of the type of housing I have and that seniors fall easier and don't bounce back like younger people do.

You should let your viewers know to purchase any large, costly items before inauguration day because the tariffs will kick in and items will be a certain percentage higher
You’ll be pleasantly surprised to see that the big tariffs will cause the opposite to happen. They will change their ways so not to have to pay the large tariffs. I felt the same way, until I heard Pres. Trump explain how it works. He’ll bring a lot of American companies back home, just like he did, the last time he was in office.
Hedgehog Cactus. I got them through my boots into my feet and had my partner rip both my boots off so I could remove the individual spines. Painful and Horrifying .

When you feed Lefty call his name or whistle. That sound will bring him to you. He wants to please you

Lefty took 2 licks of that water and said, " Now Leave me Alone. "
That was about right :)
Safe travels David and Lefty ✌🏼
Nothing wrong with puttering around!!
I purchased a couple shirts from you and got them today, I absolutely love them. You and lefty are amazing!

The higher the altitude in the desert, the thinner the air.
Don't I know it :)

Prickly pear cactus. This Nana from Montana has had plenty of them in her tennis shoes as a kid.

Collagen in chicken gizzard are good for joints. A raw egg added with his meal is a good source of protein.
Hi David
Love your cap
Any idea who made that
Love the video
Give Lefty a hug
❤
I found that hat while hiking... so it was a freebie :)))
@ wow
That’s super cool. Sometimes that happens 👍
If lefty pulls hard on leash as this breed may do , using a front clip on the harness rather than top clip can make a huge diffrence.
He's not a puller since he was a youngster :) That took some training!

I don't know what happened to that last sentence. It should read " a lot of us live vicariously through your daily activities......"
I think those a cactus seeds. They get caught on a traveler.
Have you tried a shorter leash?
Yes, it's too restrictive and every move he makes snaps my arms. I need the length to give him space to do his thing :):
Why aren't you using a retractable leash ?
They're not strong enough for what we do.

Grain in your dog food causes weight gain. Just like it does in humans.
I keep him on his regular food - no grains - I just had to cut back on the treats and the extra meat fats.
I believe you mentioned BLM may charge to camp at Turtle Rock near Buena Vista Co in 2025. I did not find any information on the BLM site yet. Is the BLM going to charge to camp at Turtle Rock?
Yes, starting in May it will be a fee campground. They installed the pay box while we were there.
