1. Islam hasn't even existed for a millennium and a half; Muhammad was born after 600 AD. It is currently 2,019 AD.
2. What makes you think that we want a full-scale war? We just want to keep helping the Kurds finish the job they already started; they've cut off ISIS's head, and now the body's squirming, soon to grow a new head if we do nothing to stop it. How long has this taken? Remember the maps the episode showed you? In just 4 years, ISIS went from being a wannabe state/potential regional power to barely even existing anymore, and it hardly "20 years of war".
3. Also, this person is just suggesting that Trump apologize for being a callous (heartless) motherfucker, not that he should contribute more troops. If you have to change what someone said before you respond to it, then what they said must have been harder to defeat than you would've liked. Simple logic. This is why "strawmanning" (taking things out of context to make them easier to attack, like dueling a man made of straw, because you're too afraid to duel a real man who may hurt them. Get it?) isn't logical; if I say "I don't like waffles, but that pancakes are just okay", but you come back with "But, they're fluffy and delicious, the way they're so flat and thick just...(other good things) (I'm describing a pancake, not a waffle, get it?), how could you possibly think they were disgusting?" I wish common people like me could do more to help, but the most we can do is try to vote for people who can change it all. But until that change comes, the best thing we can do is stay informed, and I am glad I now am about your plight, and how we have affected it.

I'm not American, but I always think "There's no way Trump will do something more stupid than *[Insert random stupid thing Trump has done]* " and every time my jaw drops in disbelief
Lol ikr. Its like an episode of 24
@Jan Sitkowski
"Trump did the smart thing"
This whole video shows that he didn't.
@Jan Sitkowski If you believe Turkey and Russia will have a conflict, I have a bridge to sell you. They are strategic partners. Turkey buys weapons from Russia. You're about as smart and well informed as the President.
This was incredibly stupid. Ignoring the incredible moral dilemma of abandoning our allies to die, strategically we just lost a massive amount of influence and ability to project force in the Middle East.
@Jan Sitkowski exactly. It's not like Turkey just bought a S-400 weapon system from Russia. Oh,wait...
"imagine what he might do in a crisis not of his own making" judging by the fact that The US has the highest amount of covid cases, this video predicted 2020.

Why did I read this like arrested development
@@kashifs.6458 Because that's literally what it's a reference to, you turd.
Funny thing and a joke in nearly every german comedy show since that statement: we germans fought in normandy xD
They were actually kurds fighting for the british in Italy... But not in Normandy
They also helped British and Soviet troops keep Northern Iraq out of Nazi hands, fought in Albania, Italy, Greece, and Cyprus, and helped create and defend the Persian Corridor which was a vital supply line for the Soviet Army's push into Central Europe.
"If you're a normal person, you would say knock knock, may I come in"
yeah, tell that to the half naked underage girls at the beauty-pageants in whose dressingrooms he barged in without even thinking about knocking...
Maybe he said "knock knock" instead of knocking, like he states XD
That's totally different though!

We dont have to imagine anymore :(
8 months after this aired, an actual crisis has happened and currently happening and Oliver's words ring true still
the term "Worst thing of his presidency" got outdated real fast
It's become a habit. This term gets often outdated from day one.
It's the Trump Maxim: "Anything objectively terrible and/or stupid Trump does will be outdone by Trump within moments. No exceptions."
You wrote your comment 4 months ago. By my math that was in late January....when pretty much 99% of people were utterly unaware of Covid.
So you wrote that....BEFORE all of _this._ And that's interesting.
Because it only reinforces your point. It really makes me wonder...what the FUCK will it be like 365 days from now? Shit is accelerating. Maybe the whole notion of exponential change and novelty proposed by the likes of Kurzweil or McKenna....is VERY true. And it's happening...now. And it will not stop...or slow down. It will continue...but at a larger and faster scale. So....buckle up? o_o

Underrated quote: "He owns a GOLF COURSE in FLORIDA, where the average age is 'opposed the civil rights act-'"
That one is my favorite. A burn in a burn 😁😁😁
Florida deserves to be insulted! It's a giant mental hospital where the patients are all off their meds, and not a doctor in sight.
"Civil Rights" was kind of word play like The "Patriot" Act. It sounds nice, but it destroyed Freedom of Association.
Not an American here, i didn't get the joke.

Donald Trump: "I hate sand. It's coarse and rough and gets everywhere."

A wise man knows that he is a fool.

The more you know, the more you realise that you don't know.
I believe this is why Trump believes he is a genius; he doesn't know much of anything, and as a result, has no idea of how much he doesn't know.

Trump : Don't be a tough guy
Erdogan : throws away letter
Trump : I like him
Day 1: Don't be a tough guy.
Day 2: I like him because he's a strong man.
Can somebody please get him a thesaurus?
Day 3: I don't like dinosaurs. They're big and dumb and didn't help us at Normandy.
And a dictionary?
Day 4: My hands are plenty big, so I think we all know my dictionary is just fine.

Melania: So do I!!

Also Trump: Oh, he threw my letter away? That means he can't read either! He is now my bestest buddy in the whole wide world!
That letter written to Erdogan still gets me.. Looks like it was written by a grade schooler..
No surprise it got tossed. It looks like an off-season April Fool’s joke.
DaijDjan
Erdogan should have returned the letter with a big fat F on it.....
When I paused the video to read it I was so surprised... a president addressing a letter to another leader in such a disrespectful manner, specially a serious muslim like Erdogan... it's such a faux pas 🤔
It basically was.
@@IRosamelia I'm writing from Turkey and Erdogan said Turkey does not represent more than 70%!
I would have immediately asked Trump to name who DID help us in WW2, and specifically during the Invasion of Normandy. I bet he would struggle to name more than one of our allies. Even that’s being generous. So for all he knows, the Kurds very well could have helped us during D-Day, and he would never even know it. 🤦🏼♂️✌🏻🇺🇸

His Professor how to right when he said that Trump was the most astoundingly stupid person he had ever met because he's so stupid that it's actually kind of surprising he got anywhere in life. If he had been born black and poor and acted the same way I don't think he would have survived past teenagehood.
In all seriousness, there are a few sad stories about the dogs and animals that became friends of our troops out there. Some of our troops had every intention of getting them home to US, or adopting them, many of these dogs brought bottles and cans and other things they thought we wanted as gifts to them every morning to become friends. The troops had to leave so fast they never got to say good boy again; and those animals wondered where those humans went, and why they didn't take them too. It wasn't just the Kurds that we left, it wasn't just humans.
Honestly, Trump could be a better comedian than president, businessman, or father.

Probably because legal issues on saying that.
It was the saddest thing to watch :'(
@James S A real shit... SHOW. Indeed.
Those kind of actions are done by all factions down there, including the Kurds. I think there is a video out there of Kurdish militias torturing a 13 something year old boy, claimed to be ISIS which might be accurate, before they executed. Point is, there are no "good guys" in that area. Kurds only helped retaking land they viewed as their own and oil fields they wanted for profit. All Kurdish actions have been in self interest. The very same reason they started to attack none Kurdish Iraqi troops after ISIS was defeated as a main territory holder. Which isnt that reported because the Kurds have managed to make themselves look like good guys in Western media. Not saying they are worse or identical to ISIS. I am just saying that the picture down there is NOT that black and white and the Kurds could just as well been the uprise in Iraq, as opposed to the Sunni uprise that took the form of ISIS (No one questioned why ISIS, consisting mostly of Sunnis and some ex Baath party folks (Saddams party, therefor some could technically be Shia) only managed to mostly hold Sunni areas in Iraq?).
@Ryo East you need to specify what kind of people exactly are being killed. I don't know what kind soldiers you've learned about, but the standard is not genocidal maniacs.

He was renowned for being amazingly clever and quite clearly was so-but not all the time, which obviously worried him, hence, the act. He preferred people to be puzzled rather than contemptuous.

Imagine telling someone from ten years ago that Bush Jr's Middle Eastern politics will seem sane in comparison with what is to come.
What Bush Jr did was sane. Iraq's population didn't drop and the only refugee crisis was the Iranians going into Iraq. Meanwhile Obama's attempt to take out Assad had created ISIS, a refugee crisis and a lower population. Europe tried a quick stunt with eliminating the dictator of Libya and again, there are rebels (this time with jet fighters and artillery supplied by Middle Western countries) against the UN backed government, a refugee crisis and a lower population i that country.
