Some years ago, I worked for a company that had a government contract. One of the Energy Dept project managers came to visit and see how we were doing. We went to the company cafeteria for lunch and I offered to pay for a hamburger and fries. The DOE manager had to remind me that he couldn't accept that "gift," but had to pay for his own lunch. I was embarrassed that I had forgotten this!
Too bad he wasn't a Supreme Court Justice. I could have taken him to a really nice place!

If Trump fails to show or cancels, I hope Presidebt Biden still proceeds with the debate without him and answers the questions and talks to Americans, and shows Trump's absence.

Trump's latest comments lead me to think he will attend at least the first debate (taunting CNN; see recent comments). Obviously no one can (or wants to) get into Trump's foul cesspool of a brain, but I hope I am right. Biden will mop the floor with Trump under rules that prevent Trump from interrupting, overtalking and generally breaking all the debate rules. Without his usual bluster, chaos and attempts at intimidation, Trump is nothing because he really is an ignorant person who doesn't know anything of substance.
Have you people ever seen a large crowd at any Biden rally? I voted for Biden but that doesn't mean I have to remain as I was; ignorant.
I used to NOT watch Trump until I knew I was smarter and had to watch for myself Trump speak. I did watch it and what an experience. I think in order for you to actually get an understanding you need to step out of your box and you can perhaps learn something.

With the rules that are in place, I would be shocked if he would debate. The microphone is closed while the opponent talks. Trump can't do that. Carville and others on the Dem side want very much for Trump to debate because it will highlight the significant intellectual and cognitive differences between Trump and Biden for the electorate to plainly see. Those differences to any objective observer will clearly benefit Biden. The Biden campaign and its allies, including Carville, know it is easy to mess with Trump's head, and they are doing so. It's likely in my view that Trump will appear for the first debate. He knows that if he fails to appear he will be roundly criticized and ridiculed. If he were to beg off, his base would be fine with his bogus excuses, but independents and others on the fence would view it negatively, thus giving Biden a victory. Bottom line: if Trump does debate, he likely loses; but if Trump does not debate, he definitely loses. Either way, Biden has outsmarted Trump.
