Awesome vid my family does a yearly summer trip to that exact same campground every summer. Went in summer of 2018 and it was closed was very disappointing, wish people would be responsible and clean up after themselves. And word has it that a large group of people threw some kind of "rave" there and was closed off because of its aftermath.
This seems to be the slides I always go to. And if I remember right there is a pay Campground next to the road on the bottom. Also there is a great fishing hole somewhere along the river. I will not tell you where it is because unless you slip and fall you will not know where it is. The hole is about 10 ft long a foot and a half wide and about 10 to 12 ft deep. When I go there I go fishing at first light for about 10 minutes. That usually produces two fish. And I sneak back to camp hoping not to reveal where the fishing hole is.
Thank you Jesse. I haven't been to those bowls yet, but I know that area well due to owning a house in that county. I did not know why they were closing some of the rural campsites. Now I know and the Forest Service is right in putting up a sign pointing out how a small segment of our population is being disgusting and how they treat our forests. They have had enough and we support them. Good video...
@@JesseStLouis I have watched your videos, I do and I will watch more as time permits. I am a subscriber. I went up to the Freeman Creek Grove for a day hike on Labor Day and I went by Lower Peppermint Campsite, and the bin for the trash was over flowing. I know it costs more money, but the Forest Service needs to be more proactive in clearing those bins on the Friday before the weekend and the Tuesday after the weekend. That is a problem with bureaucracy. The information kiosk up at Parker Pass is damaged where they maintain a pit toilet which is maintained. They need to fix that kiosk. By fixing it, then more people will not see it not damaged, so they will not damage the forests near by. Both sides need to "care". I was a volunteer down in the Angeles Forest for over 5 years and did trash removal, anti graffiti work, and other miscellaneous stuff for the forest service. I gave them a 100 hours a year. It never ends. When I retire, I will probably give them hours in the Sequoia National Monument. That is what good citizenship is. I am currently a volunteer where I live and work and am giving about 50 hours a year right now to a non profit to help the community around me. I like your videos and will continue to watch them. Keep them coming and thanks...
Wow! I was there last June for my birthday. The water was WAYYY higher and faster flowing. Kern river was 6k CFS to give you an idea of the snow melt that summer. The bowls weren’t even visible when I was there. But still looks like TONS of fun!
If you're not against a long hike in (overnight, even), you should check out the North Fork Kings River out of Courtright Reservoir. Lots of slabs and slides.
I think you would have to travel Helms Creek to reach the North Fork of the Kings River out of Courtright. If you take the North Fork of the Kings from Wishon Reservoir, Courtright's not quite as impressive sister lake, you can reach Granite Gorge which is an unbelievable place to fish and swim.
@@gregall2178 I will check it out on google maps, heading to Courtright w/ my wife last wkend of this month to do the Cliff Lake Trail to Rock Lake for an overnighter, beautiful area. Thanks for the tip
Jesse, love the channel and all your videos. Do you have any advice for someone just starting their channel. I like to explore and travel too! Any advice would be great! Thx
Hey there. My advice would be to constantly try to improve your content, put out at least 1 video per week (3 is ideal for the algorithm) and optimize your tags, titles and descriptions for search.
Jesse St Louis hey man I was hoping you could go check out some areas in Los Ángeles or around I heard that in Ventura California there is a river and would like to see if you can find any sorta adventure or the azuza river or the crystal lake
Nice slide... Hows it compare to the slide Wishon ?? Also I dont get why people do dumb shit and trash everything..morons #parasitepeople...thanks for the vid Mr. St Louis... #infamouslyfe
Some of the party spots in Sequoia/Kern area turn into hobo camps after Welfare DBT cards are disbursed. I have left "camp" sites because of it. Once a biker was firing a 357 into the river. Good times.

Those pools look so inviting. Cool. Thanks.

Love the SNF! I've been camping there for 45 years.👍
Facts!
So true. Camp site 3 is right across the street. All that was closed off because of trash etc ,. Lower peppermint it was

@@concerned1313 Thank you for being a living example of what it means to be a good steward of the earth! We need more people like you

Looks so awesome. I'm from Texas but my husband grew up just outside Sequoia NP. Would love to go soon!
I hate hearing about people trashing places like that. But thanks for the good message about leaving no trace.
It's crazy how some things even need to be said. Who doesn't know that you shouldn't shit in a goddam river?! Wtf?!
Jesse St Louis no kidding. Some people are just a$$holes

How do you get here? I can't seem to find them on google earth or google maps!
hey just wondering what kind of camera are you using? and defenitly doing my part of taking care of nature and much more.
My main camera is a Panasonic G85 and a GoPro Hero 6 for the water stuff
Short and sweet! I like the black and white throw back! Don't let your garbage lay around or INFAMOUS be after you!!! 👊
Thanks brother
Stopped by here Saturday while fishing to read the notices. Looks like they'll be opening them back up next year. We lost this for two years.
Hopefully people will be more responsible
nice little flow...

I'm to the point I don't tell anyone about places like these, people just don't know how to not trash our beautiful Forrest and parks.
It's so sad
Why was dispersed camping closed, is that even true because it's open rite now I just spoke with the rangers office!
This video is 2 years old and I talk about the reasons why dispersed sites were closed at the end of it
Right up the slide. Short walk.
we need to take care of the world cause if we dont who will.
