80s boxing as a whole was a gift to life
Facts.
Right it definitely was the #1 best boxing it was and is a gift
Absolutely True Thank God For UA-cam for most people would not know such a time existed.
So was WCW
Most definitely
Sugar Ray Leonard wanted to be like Muhammed Ali, Muhammad Ali wanted to be like Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Robinson wanted to be like Joe Louis, Joe Louis wanted to be like Jack Johnson and so on... we all have inspirations, don't let that stop you from trying to imitate anyone you admire or look up to! Because the greatest had someone to look up to as well.
George Foreman was the coldest out of everyone the Ali fight looked fixed
Joe Louis wanted to be nothing like Johnson. U need to watch the documentary about him called unforgiveable blacknes...
@@alfonsoflores3344Nah Liston
Big facts
Jack Johnson didn’t want to be like nobody but Jack Johnson.
You are preserving sports history. Excellently edited and put together, man.
Yes. Kudos man
They call him, Joey V
Agreed!
Hey Joesph. You needa do a video for Sugar Ray ROBINSON TOO. Dont Forget Him
Lol all the clips were already preserved! Great videos though yup.
I got goosebumps when Angelo told sugar ray Leonard "your blowing it now son you gotta punch Till u can't punch no more" 😲🤘
totally! Like straight out of boxing movie.
If he didnt, hed lose the fight! Only a champion could do something like that, and (imo) Hearns had a champion mentally too, but not the experience yet.
Straight outta a Rocky movie
Leonard was obviously losing the boxing match on all 3 scorecards. So he turned it into a brawler, stepping out-side himself becoming something else to win was (Extra-Ordinary)
@@abrahamjackson6019 agreed.
sugar ray was a dog
I love the mike Tyson “perfect timing “ on almost every video
Its a running gag.
Something would be missing if the BOOM PERFECT TIMING WASNT THERE
Some of my favorite running gags on the channel:
1.) Boom perfect timing
2.) Metal Gear Solid Death noise
3.) Tom brady as darth vader and belichick as palpatine.
4.) Cocayeen
You noticed that too huh
Boom perfect timing🗿
I didn’t know Sugar Ray had so much power with that speed
Ikr
Force=Mass×Acceleration
Emphasis on acceleration
Soo basically Sugar Ray =BOOM PERFECT TIMING!
Speed=Power
That uppercut after body blows so like Tyson
He threw punches and bunches, it wasn't that 🕐 lunch Tommy Hearns power, but the 3rd or 4th could put you down for sure.
Whoever put this together ... with all the other videos, I got one thing to say... SON YOU GOT MAD SKILLS
V/r
Thanks
Wow
Facts
This coming from film legend optimus prime 8 no profile picture
Sugar Ray Leonard was absolutely Badass, when he stepped in the ring he put it on them. He's a TRUE boxing Legend.
His fight againts Hagler, I don´t really know how Leonard manages not to be KO by such a hard punches. Respect for both legends.
Pound for pound in his prime he imo was the best
An ass
Once again, this glimpse into history is beautifully put together. Beyond the world of boxing. The Ali piece was exceptional and it simply comes down to the purpose in which each of these men served. Like I said beyond the world of boxing. Kings
What saddens me is that we will never see legends like sugar ray in high definition. In 4k. Grainy footage is abt the best we can get. Ray always seemed like a very smooth moving fighter.
Boxing is the theater of the unexpected you never know
As someone who is a giant Ray Leonard fan, I commend you on this a lot. So awesome, the only man to defeat Haglar, Hearns, and Duran. He is the true king of boxing in the 80’s
Also he beat Benitez.
he didn't beat Hagler, judges did.
@@kartzstormstool861 he agreed
@@kartzstormstool861 whatever, hagler couldn't able to finish Leonard, he past his prime, and hagler was bigger in size and bigger puncher...
Ray said himself he lost
38:52 you know you are such a positive influence when even the security is applauding for you.
@@villy4556 as corny as it sounds this video helped me through my divorce. So I watched this quite a lot. It gave me a hope that I can never explain.
@@mentalfloss46 His career really is a shining example of heart and resilience. I hope you have been and will be alright man
Leonard one of the greatest to ever grace the ring id put him well above mayweather jr
That guy jumped up there like he was a lil fanboy 🤣
I SAW THAT.....LOL😂😂😂
U know it’s lit when you here “Boom Perfect timing “ ( Mike Tyson voice )
MALIK Post Fire Hahaha just heard that bit

Wait I watched the video before? 😂
29:28 FANTASTIC editing on an already spectacular documentary! Nobody does it better 🔥
Man the sound effects and the
"Perfect Timing" put these films on another level.🏆🏆 They indirectly hold your attention and make you continue watching. Only videos I've watched that can be an hour long, you finish watching, and immediately go look for another video thats an hour long😂😂😂. Another banger!!!🏆🏆🏆
@@@😊
I can actually feel the excitement of the pass, boxing was it. I wasn't born in those days but trust me I can feel the chills.
What a time to be alive. Everytime I see Ray throw the rib shot I am feeling it. All the great fighters fight each other.
That massive lethal over hand right Sugar Ray Leonard through at Tommy hitman Hearns reminded me so much of sugar ray Robinson. Sugar Ray Robinson used to throw those save overhand rights with insane levels of speed and power which used to leave his opponent dazed 😵💫.
It's rare to be the best at a sport in the sports histroy. Very rare. In fact counting the 8-10 main sports that means there's only 8-10 people since the beginning of sports that can say this. And Sugar Ray is one of them.
The speed that Ali, Sugar Ray, and Mayweather have is amazing
I imagine alot of Floyd haters would've liked your comment had you not mentioned him.
Annnnnd ROY JONES
I wouldn't put Mayweather here with these two. Wrong level of greatness.
@@jakesmith5278 We can't mention one Ray without the other also
@@jakesmith5278 hate him or love him. Floyd is one of the best of all time
I was born in 1977 my first book report i had to write I wrote it about Sugar Ray. He was like a super hero to me. Kids talked about Superman Spiderman Hulk And I talked about Sugar Ray and Jerry Rice. To me they both was unstoppable and had that dig down deep and fight my way out of anything mentality. 🐐🐐
Got to add Mike...Jordan that is..:)
I been on this channel all day. Thank you for the great vids. This is amazing. Appreciate all you’re work.
Thanks for watching!
Sugar Ray Leonard needs a movie trilogy
You have skills, your videos has never not blown me away. May you always do this, may you always love doing this. You are a gift to us. Amazing video as usual. I am afraid to watch all your videos in case one day you stop and I will not have something special like this to watch. Hands down to me the best youtuber. Have a great year Mr. J. Vincent.
Aye my man, we need that Sugar Ray Robinson Career Doc. One of the best ever✊🏾💯
Watched this in one seating because you already know the goat stays top notch in his videos start to finish, and I think you’d do Manu Ginobili a great justice with a good career vid, either way much love Jo 👌
I bet I felt like you was getting jumped by five people when leanord threw those flurries💪🏽
Keep the Great vids coming!! I love Leonard!! His style of boxing is something we may never see in the sports again!
I’ve recently started watching boxing it’s awesome to watch these greats. Awesome videos keep up the great work
22:42 What his son says always makes me tear up bruh 😢
JV you are just a genius when it comes to editing you are the best of this Era on a level of your own keep up the good work💯💯
A few minutes into this video I'm reminded of just how vicious those flurries were. DAYUM!!!
JV never fails with these 💯
He was the best boxer I ever saw
Ray must have the best punch selection in history. Picture the magic trick where the swords are driven through a basket. That.
Just sayin.' I been HEAVY into the fight game for over 20 years, and nobody does this shit the way you do. You have a way of going right to the edge of credulity, and riding it so perfectly that there must be some kind of groove being worn right next to that edge. Like you machined both the edge and the groove, and now it's just a precise mechanism that you operate at the highest level.
And I can imagine how much work you had to put into someone like Ray Leonard. He's no Earnie Shavers, with those lanky arms and slow thuds; SRL was a speedfreak with more combinations than a street full of buffets. And you had to edit every sound. I'ma light this next fat dank bowl in your honor. You be puttin' in *WORK* on these productions.
This is the best channel on UA-cam the only channel that posts and I have an aneurism from excitement
U r putting really a lot of effort
U need, no sorry, U DESERVE more subs for Ur work
The sound effects were everything. Good job with the video. Leonard was one of the best finishers in the game. The refs were shocking back then. They were taking 10+ punches too many. Maybe cause Ray was so quick.
The sound in the back ground make it so marvelous to watch
OMG This man did hand a punishment to each opponent. What, like 50 combinations in 5 seconds. Simply outstanding 😱
Such a well made video.. got the chills
Joseph Vincent is a hero persevering boxing history for later generations I love you brother...
I had few Hero's as a kid, Ray was one of them, for sure⚡⚡
Sugar Ray had an Iron chin..💪💪
You spelled Marvin Hagler wrong Dave. .
Marvelous Marvin Hagler was one of my favorite fighters. Legend 💪💪💪
@@freddymallah9005 Sugar Ray’s chin was definitely Underrated. It took punches from Duran that would’ve dropped almost any other boxer in their weight class
"You gotta punch! And punch! Till you can't punch no more!"
I Love Leonard but!, he is overshadowed by two Giants!, Ali and Robinson.
Only those 2.
1.Robinson
2.Ali
3.Ray Leonard..and then the rest
Muhammad Ali neh Ali is 1 then Robinson then leanord. Ali fought greater fighters than Robison an was a heavyweight that moved like a lightweight . Nobody beats Ali
@@revolutionnow5227 , NOBODY!!!
Revolution NOW sugar ray Robinson fought 145 fights and only lost 15 of those fights and nobody ever sugar ray Robinson twice not to mention Muhammad Ali said himself that sugar ray Robinson was better than him and he idolized sugar ray Robinson

Welcome back my brother.

At 12:40 that left was vicious and accurately thrown at that angle One of the GOATS
What a beautiful career man🥊 His legacy well live forever👑 never had I seen Him box🔥Just Wow!! Perfected Ali Style with power and speed💪
Man those guys were tough. The blows that Ray was throwing were crushing and I'm not gonna mention the speed Damn.
And I ran, I ran so far away. I just ran I ran all night and day. I heard that come in and I swear I got chills. Props to you Joe.
This is awesome 👍😎. No one does it better than Vince, way to go with this movie 🎥🎥🍿🍿 bro
i love how he threw Adrians voice in there when he was preparing for his comeback
Lightweight Muhammad Ali... He's mirrored his style so much ..even the shuffle.
One of my favorites to watch.
I was going to sleep but here we go I'll be up for a whole nother hour hello boxing and I love Sugar Ray Leonard he's definitely top five all time
Beaten Benitez in that way, was so difficoult. But when Sugar Ray meets Roberto, him found the impossible, the best insider ever, strong like a rock. In the rematch, probably Sugar remind the words of his idol "be like water (adapt your self to the opponent)" and for Roberto was the night. Anyway bouth a legendary fighters still today untouchable... Great documentary.
The greatest welterweight fighter ever. Fast tough smart and fought tough fighters . Ray was a flamboyant killer.
31:55 32:00 even in pain and with the clock ticking Sugar Ray Leonard knew how important it is to demoralize your opponent after the mockery Hearns was doing lol
Sugar Ray is gifted in every sense of the word.... a magnificent fighter(GOAT), a gentleman, very intelligent and a class act.
Everything about that is true but he also got gifted couple of wins he didnt deserve to win like marvelous hagler and hitman second time
Not exactly a gentleman, he was a alcoholic wifebeater. Great boxer tough...

Wow! I was pretty much a baby when this was going on but I do remember a few of his fights when family was watching. What a powerful fighter. Incredible!
Other than the very controversial win over Hagler, he was the most accomplished of the 4 great lighter weight boxers of the 80's.
@38:41 THE SWING-MISSING SOUND EFFECTS😱😱😱
......PRICELESS....OMG😱😱😱
Sugar had power when he wanted to💪💯
Sugar ray Robinson and sugar ray Leonard are my two favorites
such a underrated era sugar ray was my favourite speed beats power

Thank you so much Ray for all your boxing
Great video! Love it🔥
The audio overlays on this thing 🙌. Takes you into the ring
Very nice show! Thanks
Thank you very much for the upload, but the background notices and sound effects might have been unnecessary.
No question that Sr was tough and had heart!
Truly INSPIRATIONAL A TIMELESS STORY NOT NEEDING A MOVIE CAUSE THE REAL IS BETTER .
Love the sound effects
The commentators were raving mad scoring according to their wishes. Good Ray K.Od the pole
One of the Greatest for sure. I watched the Hagler vs. Leonard fight just about 2 years ago first time. And all I heard was Hagler got robbed. I watched that fight 4 times, and besides that one judge who should have been somewhere else. I saw no Robbery. If Hagler wins? Im ok with it. If its a draw? im ok with it. Leonard wins? I saw how it happened. Hagler was supposed to destroy Leonard. kill him. That whole fight Hagler never had Ray in trouble. One knock down , one standing 8 anything. But Leonard made Hagler look average. He was the aggressor, but Leonards style was always move and dance, hit and run, so? Leonard got hit, and took it. and Leonard threw quick shots, and scored. Haglers own style, demeanor aura, hurt him. Cause he couldnt put a old retired Ray away. But it was no robbery. He fought Brilliant, like Ali vs, Foreman. Hagler shoulda rematched and got the win, but? to this day, the fact he didnt hurts his legacy. But Leonard? Like him or not, he is the man.
Great Video 😱👍👍👍 Lionel Messi next please??? 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
ESTE SI QUE E ERA UN BOXEADOR DE TALENTO.......DE LA EPOCA DORADA DEL BOXEO....CUANDO ERA UN DEPORTE SERIO......SUGAR RAY LEONARD...LEYENDA DEL BOXEO...QUE DIOS LO BENDIGA..
This video was amazing you did a great job
Sugar Ray was a intelligent boxer and businessman . His only dumb moment was fighting that last fight. But he was amazing at a time of some of the best to ever grace a boxing ring.
can have a career documentary of roberto duran? big fan of the show

This guy has the speed of Paquiao but he makes it look like he doesn’t even have to try
what do you mean "speed of Pacquiao"? This guy literally has the handspeed of himself and he's faster than pacquiao lol.
A lot of people say the world titles are the most satisfying feat in boxing.. if I had the choice I would want to win a gold medal at the Olympics.
Missed a great opportunity to drop the "I knocked down Ray Leonard" clip from the fighter while Eklund was getting pummeled lol.
A great boxer! Makes me Respect Duran even more for stepping up from lightweight to make some money 💰
Sugar ray loss and came back 5 months later. U don’t see that in today’s boxing. A time when boxing was great to watch. No ducks like Ryan Garcia. Would love to see Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs a Sugar Ray both in their prime
That's what I'm saying, back then people were dedicated and wanted to fight. now champions duck each other like crazy and get some money and leave
Well known facts
Pra mim tá entre os 5 melhores de todos os tempos
The Best of Boxing, the way it's should be
Sugar ray can do it all … a pro boxer and singer !
I just wanna fly ❤
From November 1979 to September 1981, Leonard fought Wilfred Benitez, Roberto Duran (twice), Ayub Kalule, and Thomas Hearns. They had a combined record of 177-1-1 when he faced them. 10 months. Just between 10 f**king months Leonard fought 3 Hall of Famers and one very good world champion. How many boxer could say that they faced 3 Hall of Famers in just 10 months? Few.
Was always my favorite fighter.
