A true professional. Never out of shape , no weaknesses. Any young kid should model themselves on marvellous Marvin hagler a true champ. RIP Marvin
This documentary has made me see Hagler in a new light. What an inspirational fighter.
“No weaknesses”, for sure…
💯
His work ethic was as impressive as his boxing skills.
This is a man that if you hired him to do a job, he was going to give you your money's worth,...and then some!
Facts man I’m 27 and the marvelous one is my inspiration
I`m English and I am still ashamed to this day how Hagler, one of greats, was treated when he won the crown fairly and squarely in London, RIP Marvin a true boxing legend.
I remember that fight well. It was a poor display but NO ONE believes all Brits felt that way. You have an AMAZING boxing legacy and shouldn't let a few idiots detract from that.
Too true mate..me Mam let me stay up to watch it and he was my hero from day one..
No worries brother, the British have a deep rooted boxing tradition. That's what any real boxing fan thinks. That was one time. I'm from the USA, people in Philadelphia once booed Santa Clause. It happens. Side note... I appreciate the British culture a lot. My favorite comedians, movies, and most music all comes from across the pond. Just sayin

Same thing with Holyfield and Lewis. Lewis definitely won but the judges called it a draw. Crap Happens on both sides of the pond😑

The OG superman punch
Ya it's pretty cool. Man basicly invented a punch in boxing and also doesn't really get recreated much at all for how effective it was

Watching this poor man take the world full weight over his shoulders.. with a world where no one would give him a inch of sympathy. Is heartbreaking. This man has more guts and balls than any of his opponents. watching him get rejected again and again brought me to tears 😭
Marvin Haglers' most insidious opponent was prejudice. He was denied so many opportunities, yet he never lost faith in himself and remained very determined to achieve his goals in the ring!!
lmao ok 🙄
Just heard the news about haglers passing.. Truly one of the greatest to ever rule the middleweight division.

You’re probably right. But, it was only a matter of time until someone went to war with Hagler. He’s a true example of greatness because even when they tried to deny it, they couldn’t. He was undeniable. He did it HIS way.

Marvin was a near perfect boxer he had ko power in both hands a granite chin incredible conditioning slick foot work he could be a patient technician or Furious brawler but most importantly he had a mental fortitude and determination rarely seen in any sport
He may not have gotten the respect he deserved but in the long history of boxing he will always be remembered as a all-time great middleweight he truly was Marvelous
I couldn't have said it better myself 💯💯💯
Excellent observation and well put, certainly could brawl or box and trained in solitude, old school attitude war war war
@brianwhitehead huh? His footwork was amazing, not marvelous... You need to watch a little more footage of him, along with switching he had some skilled feet.
Guys used to think he had a twin in the ring. Couldn’t get off of the line against him. No matter what you did, he would switch and take your angle or cut you off. That is a very hard thing to get away from when you’re in the square circle. KO power in both hands on the switches. He was scary good.
I couldn't have said it better, he was incredible.
My favorite boxer of all time! Just a true warrior and a fantastic boxer! A king among kings!!!
I cannot think of any other sportsman from any other sport who I hold in higher regard than Marvin Hagler !
“You can’t leave up to the referees, and you can’t leave it up to the judges. There’s only way to do it and is to do it my way”-Marvelous Marvin Haggler 8:20

"He's cut from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet"
Truest statement ever said.
Hagler was badly treated as a pro, waiting so long for his chance, dodgy decisions, and considering his route to the title hagler can be and should be considered as the greatest middleweight of the era and possibly every era.
He won it the hard way!
Also a shame that the fans ruined his crowning moment. That was the British working class at the time.
He said “tough” I think. Tough from the top of his head to the bottoms of his feet.

I gotta appreciate the effort put in making this.
@Gav Armstrong did u even watch the video?
The head doesn't have muscles. Skull types are different. Johnny Owen had a very thin skull and it cracked and caused him to die. All skulls are harder than fists... Why you should never hit a guy on top of the head. Hearns broke his hand hitting Hagler high.

and could be outboxed by slick boxers, when they fought the correct strategy. leonard and a blown up old duran went 15, Prime GGG would go 15 easily with hagler, roy jones would have easily outpointed hagler.

@@AsianDomination2012 Are you confused?? Educate yourself. let me repeat it. Two blown uppers tested hagler. Cmon!!! Why didn't hagler move up in weight to fight michael spinks or dwight braxton. Hagler could have easily gotten to 175 lbs. But GGG haters attack GGG for not going up in weight when hagler stayed put at 160 for 13 years!!!! But it was wrong that GGG didnt go up in weight but you hagler fans give hagler a pass on that??And in 1984, they introduced super middle weight class, Why didnt hagler ,at least, move up a few pounds to that

Why did they hate southpaw back then
One of the greatest to ever do it, and perhaps my favorite boxer. He was an artist and a craftsman.
EDIT: Every step he takes is so controlled. His ankles and hips are so strong. He would've made a great dancer. If "backwards broad jump from single foot tiptoes" was an Olympic event, he'd have been world champion at that, too.
He never got the recognition he truly deserved he is another legend what a fighter he threw so many punches in a round his work rate was phenomenal 👏 Rip Marvelous Marvin Hagler 🙏 💙
the fact Marvin had to get through fifty fights before his world title shot, shows how political the sport was & how dangerous he was. for me, Hagler is the greatest I saw at any weight. supremely fit, a granite chin and fearless
He fought only one tough fighter before antuerfurmo, Bennie brisco. The rest were staggered by the ring introductions before round 1!!

@@mrblobby6284 yes he’s chattin
Yes he had to wait twice as long as Leonard etc to fight for world title, then was robbed, and only had a fraction of the purses of Leonard etc too, until they met. If you read the book The Superfight by Brian Doogan it's clear Leonard waited until Hagler had long lost his desire. But that horseshit move Leonard pulled, building up a fight with Hagler only to say “it’ll never be” was the kind of crap that kept me from being a huge fan of Ray’s. Too arrogant. Asshole move.
@@michaelferreri1256 yup, as great as SRL was, he was a big asshole. And strategically waited until he saw Hagler decline.
@@rickyv7757 won't be the firstly won't be the last
Whilst we all know Ray waited until after Marvin’s war with Mugabi he was a WW when The Marvellous One was in prime
@@mortalitysfatal3229 WW was Ray's best weight and MW was Hag's...I don't care who you are, the idea of signing to fight prime Hagler wasn't a career decision, it was a LIFE decision. And there's a reason it took Senatorial pressure to get Hagler a title shot. [A first title shot longer than Mayweather's career? What?]
Watching Hagler all shredded and with a heavyweight's reach demolishing people with sustained beatings, any fighter as smart and as rich as Ray simply thinks in terms of risk/reward. Ray understood moving up to fight a prime Hag when he was less than stellar at jr. MW was gonna result in a loss and damage to his brand. This is not in question, as Ray admitted it. He never wanted him prime. He knew he couldn't win. There's no shame in that once acknowledged. Ray never pretended he could deal with Hagler. After the Sibson fight, his fellow announcer says, "I see no one on the horizon to challenge Hagler...unless you want to fight him, Ray"
Ray: 'I think I'll stay retired'
18:00 JESUS CHRIST!!! The combos he was throwing had some CRAZY HEAT on 'em‼️💯 There is a lot of those in this video I could time-stamp because of how vicious the KO's were. Dude was SUCH a monster, undeniable talent, undeniably one of the GREATEST OF ALL TIME 🐐‼️ RIP Marvelous Marvin Hagler 😢😢😭😭😭
Marvelous Marvin Hagler was the best technical boxer of all time. I gotta say if he was still alive and he was to come back out of retirement, he would still be a force to be reckoned with. My condolences goes out to his family.
Who could live with a peak Hagler today ?
@@TheHumbuckerboyNO ONE
@@potentially__9445 Very true IMO
Your absolutely right- I don’t think that any one out there today would cope with a Prime Hagler….and let’s not even think about Mayweather in the same category as Marvin Hagler!
That title probably belongs to Willie Pep or Duran but Hagler was the ability to switch hit…he was a master at that and I believe he is the greatest MW of all time
The only channel that i would never ever skip the Commercial! I love and respect this channel so much.
I skipped that crap so fast.

This was excellent! I never even knew how good Marvelous was. This was one of the best ones I've seen. Just excellent
NBW DOUGHBOY The’ best Middleweight ever. Young Bucks gotta see these Epic 80s Fights.
Honestly never watched any of his fights. I can't believe I have followed fighting for so long and never sat down to watch this man. It is amazing how smooth and powerful he was. I am now watching this for the 2nd time, back to back because this is so incredible to watch. This dude deserves so much more fame in the world of fighting.
I live in Brockton, MA
Marvelous Marvin was epic...
Absolutely a warrior

Damn I loooove these documentations about boxers
That was incredible, I can remember going to all those fights and watching them on close circuit tv. Marvin would Slaughter, knockout, Canelo and Charlo, in five rounds. You just don’t see fighters like him. Thanks for the memories, I was watching his great fights and cheering him on. Just found your channel and feeling really young again remembering all those great boxers back in the days when fighters would just slug it out.
Thank You Mr. Vincent. In my opinion Mr Marvelous Marvin Hagler is the best that ever fought. The most focused and talented man ever to enter the ring and lay it all on the line. I was glad to see Marvelous had earned "walk away money" when he decided to leave boxing. He proved what a true professional aspires to be. He became a person of charactor and that included at the end to not be disrespected any longer. Marvelous was no longer playing the biased political game in boxing that cast a shadow over the sport that I will not elaborate on. Floyd in spite of his ability to dodge punches would have ate a lot of leather if he had faced Mr Hagler. May he rest in peace.
i think we've all heard "i'll never lose to a ____" too many times in boxing
it's always disgusting..
And every time they say that they end up losing.
Kazma pretty Low.I didn’t expect that from England 🏴 fans??? I remember that,But didn’t know he ran his mouth like that???
I know Hopkins said it, but who else said it
Dmpsix Devin Haney is the latest say it

I'm sure that everyone has heard the news by now. Today, Hagler passed away! RIP to the Champ!

Great Job Joe Vincent, Well Done!

There its is BOOM PERFECT TIMING LOL
My favorite boxer switching stances between combinations love it
Hagler used to scare me into hiding behind the sofa just by how he came out all guns blazing when the bell was rung, and how he never retreated. An absolute warrior.
Whoever is putting these together (documentaries) thank you... miss these eras of boxing.. these guys went to war...
Who else think there should be a bio-pic film about Marvelous Marvin Hagler named MARVELOUS?
Yes yes 🇨🇦
I agree with you on that statement big time. 👋
I always wanted a 'When We Were Kings 2' that focused on Duran, Hagley, Hearns and Leonard
I'm a Sugar Ray fan, but even I think he lost that fight. The Hearns fight "Fight of the Century". Hagler was one of the greatest fighters ever in any weight class. Anytime there's film of him I watch it.
I am more of a Hagler fan but I think Sugar Ray clearly won that fight. And I've watched that fight like 10 times.
@@razzles5338 na marvin won that fight he never stopped throwing punches and coming forward ray just had little burst here and there
In terms of fighting prowess he won, but in terms of tactics and cunning you have to admit that Sugar Ray Leonard fairly won. I wish it wasn't so, but I think the result was fair as Leonard just outwitted him .. Hagler lost the mental battle before he ever got in the ring, and then handicapped himself further by agreeing to the largest possible ring and a 12 round match - all engineered by Leonard to his sole advantage and ultimately victory.
@@razzles5338 Hagler won that fight.
@@birlove1471 Ray himself admitted that he shot some flurries at the last 30 seconds to trick the judges. Some of the punches counted didn't even land. Leonard was an amazing boxer and his hand speed and boxing fluency were second to none in his time but this was a victory he didn't earn.
fantastic video about one of if not the greatest to ever fight R.I.P. keep up the good work these are the best fighter docs ever made
Watching him box proves that we're are divinely created .. he was definitely created to be the best example of a sportsmen and a great boxer
*I'm just hearing the news on Marin Hagler's passing and it hurt me to my core.*
We are losing so many good people, those who brought a little beacon of light and hope amongst this sea of darkness and disparity.
*Marvin* was the definition of what a man should be, honorable, humble, skilled and full of integrity.
The direction the world seems to be going in today, we may never see another champion like the great and late *Marvin Hagler*

My heart and condolences goes out to family, friends and all loyal fans,
*R.I.P. Champ* 😔
The middle-weight division has always been my favorite, because it has consistently produced fighters with both amazing speed, durability, and technique. The most legendary of all middle-weights being Marvelous Marvin Hagler, my favorite boxer of all time! This was an amazing documentary, great job Joe Vincent!
Never knew about his gnarly 1 inch muscle around his head! Insane. RIP to a legend.
Thanks for posting he was so marvelous 😊
How could this highlight show every title defense except the John “The Beast “ Mugabi fight in 1986?? That was a competitive war probably one of the best fights of the decade really can’t wrap my head around leaving that out
David McConnell 100% agree. A big oversight especially given how important it was in persuading Leonard to risk it.
Thanks bro thought it was a great film up until that point, and then it lost a lot of credibility in my eyes...also Hagler has always freely admitted Mugabi was his toughest ever opponent. Kenny Bayless, then I guess a Nevada official, not referee, collected Hagler’s urine sample after the bout and remarked that it was pure blood.
I had another instance like this when I was reading “Sweet Thunder” Sugar Ray Robinson’s biography. Understandably a huge portion of the book focused on his 6 fight series with LaMotta. But to my amazement the author barely mentioned Robinson’s fights with Carmen Basilio, 2 of the most famous and important fights of Robinson’s s later middleweight career , again I really couldn’t wrap my head around that oversight either, oh well sometimes someone won’t grant a interview to an author or filmmaker at that artist can say fuck you , you won’t be a part of my film or book lol no matter how significant you may have been!
Exactly! I was waiting for the Mugabi highlights! Wow
Adding car slam noises also suspect. No car slam noise when he got hit by a bolo punch against Sugar Ray. The best punch of that fight.
Well, make that a movie. Hagler was the best. He beat Leonard.
Thanks for this, hagler was great. Leonard was the best chickensht runner in boxing history.
he was the second best, floyd mayweather was the best chickensht runner in boxing history
Yes I have no respect for sugar ray leopard pants he admitted to his cheating by throwing a flurry of punches at the end of a round to win that round him and mayflower must be related
Yes, Leonard ran against Hagler and frankly speaking, it's the best thing you can do. Stay still for a second too long and Hagler won't miss you, as sure as the Sun will rise again.

Yes I think Hagler was the very best. No one trained like him that man after they robbed him the first time at the title he trained like never before that wasn't going to happen again. Thanks marvellous for showing the world you was the best and as far as I think you won against sugar Ray
These documentaries are like heroine to me man. Can't get enough. Another fantastic one here, about another immortal legend.

I had dinner with Marvellous Marvin Hagler along with a group of other boxers and boxing fans, as Marvellous Marvin was walking past my table with his security I stood up and stood in his path, I put my hand out, Marvellous Marvin Smiled and instantly shook my hand, he truly was a genuine sincere gentleman and supreme worrier.
