I am old. Ketovore ended my aches and pains 100% I thought I had arthritis or had just worn out my bones and tendons and joints or some such thing. But no! It was the inflammation caused by my SAD. I’m jumping out of bed in the morning like a 12 year old now. Not kidding. NOTHING HURTS.

I got the flu on Jan.. 1 and couldn't eat anything. So the first 4 or 5 days, I had pain from fever, AND...withdrawal from carbs. & sugar. It was too awful for words. But, after about day 5, all my inflammation from arthritis in my joints & lower back pretty much were gone. I am now totally carnivore, I even made some butter bites today. I am still sleeping a lot, but that is probably from 20 years of very poor sleep from sleep apnea, so I am catching up. I am 70, had a lifetime of stress and so on. I am now finally going to continue to be good to myself. After all, if I don't ...who will???
    Thanks for listening.

I got my A1C down to 5.3 from 6.8 with keto and intermittent fasting. My doctor actually warned me not to get it too much lower or I’d be hypoglycemic! I laughed and said that’s not how it works. She’s young and fresh out of the system.

I remember when there were still cashiers employed at walmart. It took them forever to ring up my food items because I literally had every type of vegetable in the produce section in my cart. And they couldn't identify half the stuff. I almost never ate meat! Now, its nothing but red meat , ,butter and eggs. I pray that this is healthy in the long run, because I'm all in!!

I'm 3 weeks into my carnivore journey eating nothing but beef, butter bacon and eggs and water (with the odd cup of English tea now and again) not losing much weight though but I have had bowel cancer and half of my bowel cut out (r/h hemicolectomy with 8 months of chemo because they presumed I was stage 4 but I'm still here 👍😁) . I am prepared to stick to this way of life because without your health your nothing and this way of eating has improved my overall health and wellbeing SO MUCH, I'm Not turning back no matter what anybody says 😉👍

@@brucemaher7621 I've never been a big meat eater and the first 8 months I wasn't eating a lot of protein. After that I started eating more eggs and trying to increase my meat portion with a meal because after listening to videos I didn't think I was getting enough. I was surprised at how satiated I felt after it. Recently I had a couple of days when I missed breakfast (an egg, seeds and nuts) and only had meat for lunch and dinner (I have been getting some RUQ pain after overdoing the nuts - I'm getting a CT scan done this week) and I was amazed and how much I enjoyed it. But I don't think I could go totally carnivore.

    72 years old.
I did have treatment resistant clinical depression and anxiety, especially in my late 40s and was on antidepressants, mood stabilizers, ECT for 20 years.
I also gained 130 pounds from depression meds that didn't help me much. So I went off the meds, weaned over 11 months in 2016.
I wasn't very well for 3-4 years, but gradually became better through meditation, exercise, weight loss on Mediterranean diet, and fasting.
Fasting gave me a really great feeling, but as soon as I started refeeding, the great feeling went away.
Then I retired 6 months ago, still losing weight, lifting weights, walking.
So I was on a Mediterranean diet during my weight loss, but it's really slowed down.
So I considered animal based diet after watching you on YT.
    After reading
Brain Energy by Chris Palmer MD,
And seeing him on your podcast,
I thought keto diet was definitely worth a shot.
I took a couple of months to get rid of the fruits and starches from my diet.
    I'm down to 30-50g carbs a day.
    OMG!
I read that a lot of people feel better, but my energy, gut and brain are feeling the best in maybe my entire life!
I believe I was eating way too much fruit because I was already on a whole foods diet: no oil, no flour, no sweeteners of any kind.
    Just had my annual physical.
My triglycerides dropped by half to 79.
My A1C is 5.2 (no change).
My bp is 110/75 to 120/80.
I no longer feel occasional dizziness which I believe was due to low blood sugar at times.
I can walk briskly 3 miles a day.
I do eat organic plain greek yogurt from the grocery store, blueberries, low carb veg, no fruit except a little avocado.
I eat NY strip, bison, bacon, salmon, shrimp, poultry.
My plan is to try carnivore in a couple of months after the beginning of 2025.
So thank you for your great show!
Thanks for having Chris Palmer MD and Georgia Ede MD on!

After doing mostly Ketovore and a bit of Carnivore for the last year I can say now that all my knee pains are no longer a bother to me. They are just gone. It's amazing what eating a PHD can do for a human body. I also have MS and I've had a case of nuisance bladder cancer (free of that for the last 4 years) and I'm sure this style of eating is helping those issues also. I will be fueling my body with this way of eating for the rest of my life. There will be "NO GOING BACK" to a SAD diet for me. When life changing diseases happen, making the change is easy. It took me about 3 weeks to become adapted and now I don't even think about it anymore. My wife has joined me in this journey, and we now eat about 1.5 meals per day average. I fast about once a month for 24 hours all the way up to 66 hours, which is my personal best so far. THANK YOU Dr. Berry and Niesha for all you guys do for us humans! @@jesterflight8593 lower your insulin by lowering your carb intake to nothing.
personally I went carnivore. I tried to go keto but it's popular to make it needlessly complex. I thought carnivore was simple keto but I didn't eat enough fat. Still worked for me. Beef, eggs sardines butter water. I also ate other fish, chicken hotdog weenues etc. Coffee tea. At the time eggs were cheap. But I basically took half a dozen hamburger patties and a few boiled eggs a day. With salt. Cheap stuff. Now I eat some chuckroast hamburger patties and weenues from the house and McDonald's or Wendy's hamburger patties when out. I don't tolerate pork well yet so I didn't mention bacon or sausage or ham. .
Going carnivore is short form for not eating any
      sugar.
      Wheat
      Fruit aka sugar
Anything that might cause a reaction.
This will cause most withdrawal from sugar addiction. Sugar had the whole addiction thing down like heroine or nicotine dependence .
Whenever I went through my withdrawal it was summer and I worked testing fresh asphalt on roadways in Carolina. Testing asphalt does include a lot of walking and sweat. So that's a caveat. I'd been on the job with the fatty liver symptom . I put that out there to warn my water intake was a lot. I drank steadily from waking and would drink a gallon of water before eating around lunchtime for the first time of the day. That' much water is not for everybody but it helped me with my withdrawal from sugar by not having me associating thirst with sweet drinks. Butter salt and pepper make coffee a different drink than cream and sugar. Earl grey tea is a caffeine source that's awesome with butter salt and pepper. Tastes better than coffee. Various herbal teas. I did wrong by just eating meat and eggs. My fat intake was too low. But I was eating so much better than I had been my pains associated with fatty liver disappeared. I'd been getting pain in my right arm and skin tags. Bonus my allergies stopped. I didn't have to take antihistamines or decongestants and my knees quit hurting.
Prologue. I have had some relapse onto wheat and sugar. Those cause pain similar to alcohol hangover. Kinda sucks. High dose vitamin c, zinc, magnesium help me get through those hangover days.
I found I dropped like ten pounds of inflammation in a few days. I can that inflammation weight very quickly. The weight doesn't matter. The inflammation does. I'm inflamed right now on a carb bender. My back hurts so I'm admonished to get back on my carnivore. I've eaten carbs whenever I'm tired and not thinking good. Or my kid asked for something and coparenting quagmire. But carbs bring physical pain. Weird. I never did cocaine or heroine but I understand self destructive behavior better now.
If your lifestyle is such that you can regularly sleep with normal meal times and access to a toilet because detoxification is has to go somewhere, you'll be amazed. Oh and enlarged prostate is inflammation. Fixing the inflammation is like you didn't know you felt as bad as you did. Like we're taught to play through injury and pain. It's almost weird to feel good.

Today she’s managing her younger brother’s pancreatic cancer and given him Fenbenzadol along with Ivermectin. His oncologist says she seldom ever sees cancer die back but has taken him off Chemo. My wife tried her best to talk his kids out of pushing their dad into taking Chemo but was unsuccessful. Its hard to say right now but it looks like he will succumb to the chemo. We could not get him to listen or use our diet though he was healthy and not overweight. Because he worked out daily his sister (my wife) thought he was able to game the system of a high sugar diet with excessive exercise but if he lives I bet he eats like her older sister suggested. We are praying that we can help him pull through the chemo and if he does it will be a miracle. Watching what the chemo did to him in a matter of a couple weeks was almost impossible to watch. We believe the medical industrial complex has no interest in making people well. Fauci woke us up to this. Hopefully he pulls through it. If not we’ll know next time. PS we raise our own cattle and keep a couple to grow on out when we pull them off winter pasture for selling to the big feedlots. We do not agree with the way meat is fed out but the way the business is set up we can’t do it any other way but for our house we eat an half Herford half angus heifer that almost three years old when we take them to the Shamrock TX packing house for processing. Its a small family owned locker plant that does a very good job of following orders and packaging the meat the way we like it. 1.5” thick steaks and 90/10 hamburger. We know it is wrong according to the doc but we prefer lean beef. We have perfect numbers and perfect labs and take no scripts so something is working.

So I took salus tonic that is calcium, magnesium amd and zinc. The results in a week of this, is normal o2 levels. Totally life changing, the elephant off my chest.

Being carnivore, eating meat means we chew our food for longer, too. So it’s ample time to pay attention to what our bodies are signaling to us AA we approach satiety levels.

    • @jennie9

I'm also someone who overeats and didn't know what comfortably full meant. I started by eating until I felt nauseous. Then I forced myself to eat more slowly by doing things like counting how many times I chewed and putting my utensils down between bites. That gave my body and mind more time to register how I felt. Over time, I was able to figure out where the shift from comfortable to uncomfortable was for me. The amount I eat to get that feeling has decreased over time and varies depending on what I'm eating. I disagree with the poster who said that Amanda from Carnivorous Me is a good person to watch to learn about this feeling. Don't get me wrong. I think she's great. But she has said that she stops eating when she's not hungry anymore. To me, that sounds different than eating until comfortably full, although maybe it actually ends up being the same thing in reality.

Hi Dr. Berry. I am a 74 year old woman. You were talking about over cleaning your face. All my life I never ever used any harsh skin cleaners on my face. I most of the time have used a damp wash cloth, and all of my adult life I had beautiful skin. Also I never ever used make up, Even at my age now I have nice smooth skin and I have much less wrinkles than the average 70+ person. I can sit in a crowd of 60 year old people and I am always shocked that I look so much younger than they do. I contribute a healthy looking skin to my diet. I eat some fat (butter, and lard) daily, also I eat fruits, vegetables and one serving of bread for my evening meal. I raise my vegetables without any insecticides etc. I eat only small amount of meats. I have never deficient in vitamins and minerals, also I do not eat many sweets they are yuk yuk to me. I don't have diabetes, obesity, nor any of the common senior illnesses. I do have MS, RA, and high blood pressure (controlled). I believe my diet has protected my heart and brain and collesteral etc. I never drank alcohol, nor have I ever smoked. and for the most part I feel reasonable even with MS which makes one feel crappy a lot. If you liked anything in this information you have my permission to use it. Jessie from Arkansas

When I was at the chiropractor yesterday, she suggested using a rubber lacrosse ball to release tension in my muscles. She said to put it between me and the wall, lean against it, and move around until I find a sore spot. Then just hold still until the pain goes away (max 2 minutes in one spot). If you want to see a video of that technique, look up Bob and Brad on UA-cam. You'll need to find the right videos but I've seen them demonstrate it a couple of times.
