Matt, great job to ramp back up to 33 km! Thanks for the Boston 12 review and agree that it makes sense to be careful for longer workouts. Regarding the weather, it's good mental training to get out there when it's not ideal.
Thanks@@buntyboomboom2978 wish you the best of luck with your prep and the big day. It looks like a nice race and improved from recent years (flatter). Say hello if you see me 😃
Nice one Matt. I got the Vaporfly 3 on a deal from Sports Direct. Worn them once so far. I might go for the adidas(pro 3s) for the marathon. A fair few options now so will see how the next few months go.
I really like the Boston 12s, it gets a little softer after a while but its a bit polarizing and not for everyone.. Agree that despite the name its for a half marathon distance or less. I can't wait for the Boston 13, hopefully its coming out in March or April.
@@Kaisersozze thanks for your thoughts ! They seem to be getting better with each run, so needs breaking in a bit, or Im needing to adjust to them a bit 🙂 Glad I them though
@@RunThePlanet The weather was too bad so I just took the week off to recover. I'm still early in the build up. 20 weeks out. Pick it back up tomorrow though.
By coincidence I did similar part of this training - on Thursday 2nd Jan I did 2x3,2km @4:15/km. Strange distance as this is based on Jack Daniels - he uses miles (it's 2x2miles) :) But I'm not doing such long runs yet - 20-25km at most, closer to 20km rather. I will have 30km in mountains this weekend (a race, not a training), I wonder how it will work out as since Valencia I'm not running long distances :)
I've got a pair of these but they do hurt the inside of my right knee. I like the Hoka Mach 6 for a daily trainer and Saucony Endorpin Speed for races.
@@tworunningbrooms well spotted TRB 😃 It's just to make sure I "shake out" the system at home. The facilities are not open so early in the morning on the quayside 😂 always like to play it safe. Even when I'm a bit later it's become routine now. There's still a bit of warming up on the quayside too though

@@RunFreeandStrong yeah and it's actually really nice if it's not icy wind 🥶 but definitely a good day of running 😄
Just came across your channel and great reviews. I'm also doing the Barcelona marathon in March (my first)

@@kennyosborne5835 yeah Kenny, so many options out there. I'm going to give these boston12s a bit more work 😃

@@deansummerton2577 similar thoughts to me then 😂 That's a good rotation of shoes there too !
Ive always wondered why you do your warm up several miles away then drive to the start of the session? I've never come across that before.
