Festool could have easily made the pads interchangeable like bosch did. The "ONLY" reason to make 2 different sanders is to try and fleece your customers for another $400+ bucks. This coming from a Festool sander fan but this has always irked me and it feels greedy.
Exactly the comparison I was looking for, thank you. For the premium price of these tools I do wish Festool would answer some of the questions below, the video is awesome, but video + support is better.
This video could have been 45 seconds
RTS 400 should have a tapered edge.. problem solved and no need to purchase two sanders.
😂
Why RTS 400 doesn't come with tapered edge then?
Or the DTS with the pads..
@@ljungel You can cut the pads to fit the DTS.
How many millimeters is the orbit after three interface pads?
Most annoying about Festool is the naming nomenclature. "Stickfix" is velcro, a systainer is case. What is 3 years "fef replacement cover?"
So do they make an interface pad for the DTS?
I've only been able to find pad protector for the DTS sanders...I'm sure you could make one using the ones made for RTS or pads from Surfprep
@@garagewoodshop3892 thanks!
Hi - I have the RO 90 with the corner adapter, is there a benefit to using the DTS over this, or can I just get the RTS and use the RO 90 when sanding up against another surface?
Would interface pads work on detailed skirting boards?
@@kirktrethewey3147I’m after the same answer!
Hi there,
I have question. When you do sanding with 4 sponge pads is that still keep to be dustless sanding ?
Kind of. And, they don't align as easily as he makes it look, and the tool gets tall and unwieldy.
