Dennis, it’s late. Tomorrow I go into surgery on my spine and brain. I bought tools from Hondui & from Banggood on the Amazon sale. Some arrived. I now have all my tools off my must have list except for My Hooked on Wood T-Square. I sort of ran out of my stash of cash. They will be here when I come home. I work in my wheelchair. I am now a wood turner not a woodworker. I was in my wheelchair and got run over by a drunk driver that blew the stop sign. 15 years old and she stole her parents car. Got drunk, smoke pot and ran right over me and never stopped. I will be watching you in my speedy recovery. It’s going to be a long hard recovery. Thanks for the great reviews on some Awesome China Tools. Tally Ho! Best, Thom Schuck, Portland Oregon. Wish me luck indeed!
Funny name not funny thing you're going through? Any chance you have a link to a news article about it? One bright side is you can buy Jordans and keep em fresh af maintaining their value while still looking fly.
Dennis… I got all my tools from Honduie. They are all above what I expected. They all came in plastic hard cases and arrived 10 days early. I am very pleased. I bought them when Amazon had its prime sale. I got some great tools at excellent prices…. Good job. I am down and in my bed for two weeks. Then I will get to use them. Thank You!
The coping sled is a very nice tool to use, everything held rock solid. The aluminium track bar on the bottom of the sled fits a little too tight in my rail causing some binding and I might have to hone it down a touch if it does not wear in. The sacrificial sled boards are a stroke of genius but making new ones is a lot fiddlier than it looks!
As always great video Dennis! I just ordered the pocket hole jig. I couldn't use your link since I'm in the US but using the app the US $ for that pocket hole jig (not the pro version) was only $44; that's a heck of a steal at that price!!! Thanks for all you do for the woodworking community!
I seem to have the intermediate version of the Enjoywood hinge jig with the locking mechanism but not the dust extraction. It saved me a huge amount of time doing some units. I was thinking the other day using my excellent Hongdui Tee square that a shorter one would be handy. Lo and behold there now is one. Ordered just now along with 2 wall mounts. Keep up the good work.
Hi Dennis your workshop is super. Hey Dennis with the hinge jig I thought if you got a plastic home shovel just old one drill back of shovel with Forster bit put dust hose sit on drill press table that’s good tip.
Hi. I ordered the pocket hole jig. Thanks. I checked the description and it takes a 3/8" drill. You might want to mention this in your next video so one can get a replacement in the US locally.
But, I also do not think the heavy clamps are necessary. For smaller sizes till 100 cm a lighter clamp will do. I do not think you need the amount of pressure the big clamps provide.
Hi Dennis really love all your videos and appreciate the effort that goes into them! Would you be able to do a video explaining all the different hongdui mitre gauges and fence options as there seems to be 3 options for the mitre gauge, the original one a Bosch one, which I understand has Different mitre track slots but there’s another for Dewalt table saws so it’s quite confusing as I thought that had standard mitre track slots. Also I think there is a few different hongdui fence options as well. So a video clearing all this up would be great thanks for all the content so far best wishes Josh from the uk
Love the attention to detail you put in everything you do, you absolutely are my woodworking spirit animal. Ordered the full package of both your T-rulers + their beautifully designed holders. Additionally I had a question, will the big workbench be made available as a plan on your website? greetings from Flanders! FYI (spotted a typo in the china tools rankings where it states T-irulers, unless of course you had a secret collab with apple to make them 😉)
FYI I received 2 pocket hole jigs. I noticed that the screw on the face below the ENJOYWOOD logo projects, is proud, on both jigs. I can easily fix the defect but I thought you might be interested.
Great video as usual Dennis. I've bought a few tools from Banggood based on your reviews and have been very happy so far. I wS wondering if you had any intentions on reviewing the table saw fence stock guides from Hongdui. They are modeled after the Jessom ones. I would love to see what you think of them. Patrick Maher from Ireland.
It is a bit of a thrill when you buy something at those prices that turn out to be not very good. Sometimes it’s quite good but won't last. But sometimes in cases like most of these tools they are those at 4X the price. The Wild West manufacturing does provide a gem every now and then.
Dennis - I'm guessing you're probably not able to offer the HoW T Ruler holder DXF/SVG file, for purchase - now that it's being sold through Banggood? Great stuff as always, and have purchased all your 5 star rated items, together with most of your build plans.
Dennis, have you seen the Levoite advert where they use your footage and speed up your voice to, apparently, disguise it. If you didn't sanction its use, I wanted you to be aware. Great vid and attitude as always.
Hey Dennis, how does your tool wall work with the vertical strips? Is there a video or plans for this? I would also be interested in your holder for the VEIKO-T-Ruler!!! Is there a building plan for this from you? Thank you for the great videos and tool tests!!! Greetings from Sweden Ralf
I trust people like u so if u recommend a product then im convinced to buy. Its a pity though that you only deal in wood working tools. If you could broaden the products you review im sure you would get a much larger following.
Hi Dennis I thought about buying the uk pocket hole jig. Dennis what is your opinion on this product.? I don’t,t know if it adjusts to the thickness of timber automatically.,,.
First of all Dennis you are professional and you can make constantly good hinge holes, but what I notices is that sometimes forstner bit tends to go sideways (maybe I don't use correct speed of drill?!). Also plastic version of hinge jig accepts standard forstner bit, my question is does metal one use standard fotstner bit like from Fisch or?
Hi Dennis love the channel i ordered 4 of these 6 from china and didnt get them the parcel is lost and i am 250 quid in the hole. I know these things happen and it is probably a uk carrier at fault however just as a warning to potential buyers from hondui/banggood if it happens to you the chinese dont want to know they will continually tell you that they are looking into it until you simply give up. keep up the good work bud
Great video Dennis. The T-Ruler bracket that you made here, the pictures on the website look like they have metric units engraved on the bracket. Do you know if there’s an imperial version of the bracket?
My drill bit is dull, and I need to replace it. It's an unusual size-and my usual suppliers don't carry it. Do you have any recommendations on where I can buy a replacement?"
Purchased one of those pocket hole jigs you recommend and it came with a bit to dull it could not even drill a hole. Had to go buy a Kreg Bit and didn’t save a penny. Seams were found how they made it cheaper. It is non functional now unless you get the cherry picked one you might get.
Because it is your info about the product. I give mine, and I know there are better bits. I believe I Mentioned in one of the videos of this pocket hole jig. I did not consider it dull, but a kreg os definitely better. I use it myself as well. But I prefer this one with a Kreg drill bit over a Kreg. But for me, I don’t mind when you tell your experience. So I support that. That is why I liked your comment
@@HookedonWood It is beyond Dull. Like, it just burnished the wood and turned it brown. You can't even make it drill a hole and I don't know if I can even sharpen it. I am glad you don't feel bad that I bought a bad tool on your recommendation. Cheers
I appreciate your more sensible approach to reviewing these tools instead of the goofiness some other channels employ. Quick question, could you make available the files for the acrylic version for those of us able to laser cut ourselves?
Check out the Spax Universal T-Star Plus panhead screws, I buy the 4x25 and 4x30 in the thousands. Never had a frayed screw head or stuck bit, 100% consistent quality across the board and makes for rock solid pocket hole joints. Groetjes
I have that pocketjig and after a bit of tinkering, works really well. But mine did not have all those loose parts you showed and very good dustcollection. Thank you again Dennis, bedankt!
@@HookedonWood Which one do you prefer and why? I have the large MT-2465 Pro Scriber Marking T Square Ruler that's why I'm asking. Also have the coping slide.
OK wait... when Dennis says at around the 16m mark that the acrylic version is a little rough, while the composite version are cleaner, the video shows both at the same time, and the acrylic CLEARLY looks cleaner. Am I the only one thinking that?
You can see the cut marks at the acrylic version. So, to keep the price low they did not finished it after cutting. I do not think it is too bad and you will not notice it at the wall, but i like to be honest about it. The composite has nicer edges. But the glossy appearance does make it look good. The composite version has something cool though. I personally like the composite version.
Look at the edge and you see the machining marks, or in this case "cut". I don't like shiny, and my OCD would notice the fabrication marks all the time, so if I were to purchase one it would be the matte composite.
Well Dennis here you go costing me money yet again... As always my friend awesome video. Had to have the shorter version of the t-square and the holder for both so the beautiful tools could be displayed in the shop.
Be advise of one thing about China: There, you will find the cheap, the good and the excellent from any kind of material, tools and equipment or any other things
The pocket hole jig is great indeed, but the drill bit I received was sharpened incorrectly and it wasn't drilling. The replacement bit I get was also not great. I had to buy a proper one from reliable brand instead.
as always well done! Id buy the T ruler and bracket you discussed. From what I can see, the bracket/holder only comes with metric options. does the T-ruler use Metric bits in its imperial form factor?
This is nice and all but you should include the companies these tools were ripped off from. They put the time, money and energy into creating these tools and they should, at the least, get some recognition for them.
