Excellent work on this comparison!
Great comparison. I was wondering about the differences and you cleared that up. 👍
Great video. Thanks for sharing your thoughts
Thank you very much Sir for the demo.
Good Explanation. Thank you
Great video..thanks. have the ets 150.. hoping it will work well on custom table tops
ok that demo where you just let the sander go is an awesome demo and if I didn't already buy one I would have run out a purchased one right then. I'm in love with my Festool ETS125, we are planning a spring wedding, Sandpaper is requested in lieu of flowers 😂😂😋
Haha nice!!!
Excellent. Very helpful.
I bought the ETS 150/5 EC a couple of years ago. I used it on a tabletop and saw swirl marks on it when I applied stain. Those marks were like something you would see after using a 1960's old rectangular Craftsman, just hideous. I was using Klingspor sanding discs and did my usual progression of grits ending with 220. I had the sander hooked up to a CT 26 and have since learned that the vacuum setting while sanding should be set on low, which was news to me. I also bought some Festool sanding discs. That helped somewhat, but I'm still not sold on the product. The dust extraction works fine but the finish quality isn't stellar by any means. Thanks for posting. Mark
Outstanding, concise and clear rundown. Thanks!
Great comparison. This helps a lot. Thank you.
Had the low end 5" festool sander for about a year now. Finally deciding I'll spend some money and get the EC 150/5 and I come to find out they're nowhere to be found in the market and not supposed to be in stock for months.
Yes this is true for many of the Festool sanders right now, due to supply chain shortages.
One thing I always wonder with these suggestions is what people mean by "large surface". At what point does a surface become "large"? cabinets, tables, doors?
Are you using the EC 150/5 or the EC 150/3 ?
Which one would you use to do some drywall once in a while. Most of the time will use on wood.Ty,
That was a great sander comparison, just subbed to your channel. I'm planning to buy a Festool sander soon, and was wondering would the RO 150 be too heavy to sand paint off plasterboard walls for pre-painting prep? I'll mainly be using it to sand wooden panels on my workbench but it would be nice to use the same sander for DIY painting projects. Thanks very much.
Which one for grinding on vertical surfaces?
One thing about the EC sanders - you can swap a 125mm pad for a 150mm pad, which essentially gives you two sanders in one.
Do you know is there any difference between ets ec 125/3 and ets ec 150/3 other then price and pad size? I have 150 pad and I'm looking to purchase the sanding machine on a budget.
@@momcilostjepanovic5213 As far as I know, it's the same body. The pad is the only difference. I think they're even the same price.
@@olafbigandglad Doing some more research I found out that ets ec 150/3 is 60wats stronger than the ets ec 125/3. Price is 100$ higher on ets ec 150/3. Since you used 6" pad on 125 have you ran into any issues such as heating up of machine and pad or any other?
Thank you for your response!

@@momcilostjepanovic5213 No issues at all. I haven't put the 125mm pad back on since I got the 150.
Best for detail sanding?
Интересное видео 👍🏻
I'm a painterman thank you for the video
Very user friendly.
where are the square sanders, RTS400
I noticed that festool supply all kinds of sand disks for these sanders and in different colours. Granete I think is one such type. What colour or type of disk sand paper should be used with these sanders for use on wood only? Thank you
I run 3M cubitron in all my sanders. It’s truly the best on the market.
Rubin is their timber specific sandpaper
Could you please tell what's the ETS EC 150 stroke - is it 3mm stroke or 5mm stroke?
You can get either a 3 or 5 mm stroke
festool being more of a professional tool is more the tool that I would be able to use.
because you are a professional? is that what you are trying to say?
"Orbital" vs "Random Orbit" is confusing! An "orbital" is non-rotating pad that vibrates (circular pattern), and "random orbit" spins and rotates at the same time ("star" pattern). There is also the "grinder" that only spins. A "DA" sander can either random orbit or spin like a grinder... I am pointing this out because I was shopping for a sander sold in two variants, "orbital" or "random orbit"...a challenge to pick the right one when seemingly everyone mixes up the terminology.
The word “cheap” is all about quality. If you want to talk about cost, the more appropriate expression is “less expensive”
Respectfully of course
Good "Disc" sander review, not a "complete lineup" in regards to Festool Sanders.
there is not a single "disc" sander here
@@schoon111 WTF are you writing about? If it uses a circular sanding disc, it’s a disc sander vs. a rectangular/square/delta.
@@michaelpayne8102 these are D.A's and Rotex....not disc sanders.
@@schoon111 ROTFLMAO if it uses a sanding disc it’s disc sander. Let’s exam your ‘logic’, a Rolex 150 doesn’t use a Rotex specific sanding disc, you use the same 150mm disc for multiple machines as well from various vendors. DA sanders come in various form factors, circular, rectangular, delta. The point that I made in my post, was the title for this video is ‘Complete Lineup’, this is not the case the sanders shown/used are all ‘disc’ sanders. BTW ‘Disc Sanders’ come in multiple versions, stationary, portable, corded, cordless, etc.
@@michaelpayne8102 A disc"sander" goes round n round, regardless of the disc shape. . A da, rotex or disc sander COULD use any SHAPE paper, but only one is a disc sander
Hello do the Europeans (Germany) make better sanders than the USA
No we do not ! You have colonel sanders, and we don't.
Which one is the best overall for most tasks
This will always depend what you do most often. For example, I do a lot on the lathe, so none of these will be very helpful on most of my projects.
The EC150-5 is the best all around sander per festool and my own experience.
@@truthserum9157 hopefully we can buy one someday.
That would be the Rotex since it has different sanding modes. However, the Rotex is much heavier than the other sanders, the ets ec is by far the most comfortable. Really depends on what you want
16% more surface area on a 6 inch
It's much higher than that. 5" surface area is 19.63 sq. in. 6" is 28.27 sq. in., an increase of 44% surface area.
Dude blink twice if you need help.
