Thank goodness for the people who put these videos here for folk like me who are unable to go to concerts anymore to see their favourite artists. Thanks again Marc.
I think siouxsie is on top of game here. I think her voice is as good as always. I think she uses the stage really well. I love her dancing! Very siousie! She seems warmer towards the audience! I love that and I love her and the banshees ❤
Comparing 1978 Siouxsie and 2023 Siouxsie is pointless. She's 65 years old and is doing a good job for her age. I'd like to see any of the trolls perform anything for a large audience and not get booed off stage at the same age.
Although she is my favourite singer of all times and always has been - I think it is sad. At 63, she really should be in a place (both mentally and financially) where she no longer needs to perform concerts like this and put herself through this (which you can tell is really tough for her - she almost looks in pain). You just cannot shake off the impression she is doing this out of some terrible necessity, and that makes me sad. I am always happy to see her - but this is a pure nostalgia trip, noone can seriously claim these are good concerts or quality performances.
@@cultmamacultmama3571 I am not sure why she decided to tour again. She could have just been bored sitting at home: if you've been a performer most of your life, it may be incredibly dull not having that adrenaline rush of facing an audience. Likewise, I hope it's not out of financial necessity. As for myself, I think aging is tough, especially when you were kind of rough on yourself during youth, so I admire someone for fighting off their limitations and making a valiant effort. Honesty, I don't think she's terrible here, and I am willing to make allowances. I just don't expect the same thing from a senior citizen as I would have from a 20-year-old.
@@julianhermanubis6800 yes the curse of youth, never learning about consequences until it's too late. takes a lot of courage though. would be nice to have her on the curious creatures podcast, if only.
@@jez2466 Meanwhile, Lou Reed is still dead, and John Lydon is doing a Sex Pistols nostalgia tour this summer. Getting to your 70s or 80s and having the same creativity as when you were young isn't easy.
Thank you so much for this. One of my favourite songs of all time. I bought it on first release when I was 11 years old in 1978, just before I started secondary school here in UK (and had the cane many times there). And now suddenly here we are in 2023. I'm 56. And Siouxsie is back. So happy to see her back on stage, and very much looking forward to seeing her later this year. I first saw her live in 1984 here in my home city of Leicester. What a legend she is and always will be.
I was a steward at the Reading Rock Festival in 1978 (the first punk one) when John Peel gave it the first ever airing. Siouxsie had been without a record label for some time so we all heard it then.
@@Yorksbloke That's brilliant that you were at Reading 78. Very famous event. And to hear the first play of Hong Kong Garden makes it even more special.
I'm 57 my first gig was the banshees at Hammersmith Odeon with cure support not sure it it was 78 or 79 amazing gig even the circle was jumping up and down you had to have been there ,one of those ones 🇬🇧👍
To be honest she would not give a f..k what the keyboard warriors think, give a younger generation a chance to see her gigs we all were not down the Kings Road in 76
BETWEEN THE BLUE (PAM HOGG) OUTFIT AND THIS ONE, I am in HEAVEN!!!! Siouxsie is looking just WOW and I love the Blonde foils! She is fucking extraordinary! * Her dancing is exactly the same, WOW!!!!!
Absolutely so happy to see Siouxsie back on stage. It is my wish to see her live at least once. I used to cover 'Hong Kong Garden' live when I used to live in London. Wish you the best of health, spirit and everlasting happiness. Stay the way you are! Lots of love from India.
Saw the Banshees live a lot between 78 and 81 and they were a class act. I can't compare this to back then and it would be stupid to do so. It's a different world now. I was thinking of seeing her on this tour for old time sake but after seeing this I will give it a miss and be grateful for seeing her in her heyday. This is OK for those who never saw her back in the day or who want to go on a trip down memory lane but it's not for me. Good luck to her though as it can't be easy trying to recreate the past after being a way for so long !!!!
So great she is back again. Saw her in San Francisco in 1980, then again in 1983, would love to see her on Stage again. Not likely she'll be coming to Toulouse
Seen siouxsie and the banshees on the JUJU tour in Cardiff, got her autograph and got to speak to her after the gig, I was buzzing for weeks after, fantastic gig, fantastic band, siouxsie is timeless, no female artist today could even come close, legend.
Saw Siouxsie and the Banshees live in Miami Florida circa 1992. Superstition tour. So good. Excellent band. Siouxsie is a true icon and the Banshees are genius musicians.
2 shows in and Sioux's already well back in the swing. The AB show looked a bit rough but what's come out so far of this one is much more convincing. Conclusion... extend the tour! Sioux's ending comment suggests I think she agrees.
She has always been something so special. it's great to see her back on stage again. I saw her last tour in America in 2008. I wish i could see her in California next week her only American Date. OXOXOX
Excellent, Siouxsie! Time may be taking its toll (as it will to us all, if we're lucky enough), but your legendary status is assured and i salute your decision to put yourself out there again! "Let me out of here, I belong out there!". 😉
I reckon her voice sounds better the last couple of years than it did 10 years ago. You can't expect it to ne like it was in her 20s but great she's still touring.
I have LOVED her since I was 12 in 1978! I still hope she will bump into me one day and realise How much I have loved her for 46 years, and ask me to play guitar for her, and take me to her 'Boudoir' ! dx
What a legend souxie is , at 65 put any young wan to shame, as for her singing, nothing wrong, u can see that she had something wrong but ploughed along like a pure legend.
Never a big fan but this song was always special and the soundtrack of growing up in the early 80s for me. (If SLF and The Jam were supporting her then i would be stood front row) It's great to see that she can still perform well to a well appreciative and lively audience which i imagine aren't quite the same as a Sam Smith crowd...😂
Still have the U.S. single for this song. It didn't get much airplay at the time, but just enough that I heard it & well...the rest is history. It's so great to see Siouxsie back on stage again. Hopefully we'll get a new album sometime later this year. Siouxsie once said she liked the idea of doing a tour before a new album is released. Let's keep our fingers crossed. Siouxsie is such an icon. And just about the only artist that can drop an "F" bomb in a song by The Beatles & get away with it. Rock on Siouxsie!!!
Lo que daría por ver un directo de Siosxie, junto a Nina Hagen fueron mis musas de los 80. Ya no hay talento como aquellas bandas que tanto nos dieron 😎😎☠️☠️

Triple like
What a privilege it must be to get to support her live in the crowd for all her years of great music.
I can hope that maybe one day she will tour the US! Or I can save up enough to see her elsewhere 🩶 I just got really really into her last year
I’d go see her in a second. She’s a legend.

I covered this song with my band at our school disco. In the 1970s. It was in the charts at the time.
