An excellent addition. Bran Mak Morn is another bit of proof of how much range Howard had in writing the barbarous, rough types he favored. Conan, Kane, Kull,Bran, Gottfried,Cormac Fitzgeoffrey,El Borak, Black Turlogh...All different, all memorable.
Howard was a much more true heir of Lovecraftian horror than C.A Smith, Derleth, and even Lumley, etc, ever were... at least until the modern era with Kiernan, et. al. Imho.
the king of adaptations, superbly narrated and atmospherically dramatised.
Our Latest premier, tonight at 1am (UK) 7pm (Tx). The Last King of the Picts turns to dire means to fend off the Roman invaders. Worms of the Earth, A Bran Mak Morn Story by Robert E. Howard #audiobook...
This was such a good story, thank you!
Underrated and undersubbed channel.
you're not the first to say so, feel free to share us around :)
Worms of the Earth is my favorite Bran Mak Morn Story Great you make this video I hope you do men of the shadows next.
Really nicely made
Robert E. Howard was such a good author ✍️. Such a variety of tales . From Cosmic horror to Science fiction to all out fight fests with Conan and Solomon. Must admit it was his horror I read when I was young, didn’t realise for a long time how many other styles he had.
and most of them somehow interconnect, it's great
This adaptation is amazing, listened to it twice - the atmosphere, the voice-acting - conveyed the sinister aspect of the worms that sent a chill down one's spine. Definitely one of REH's better non-Conan stories. I also like the part where it hinted again, Lovecraftian monsters and the conflict they had with the early Men who wrested the Earth from them.
there are other stories by Howard and Lovecraft that refer to the legend of 'the dark man' and those who worshipped his idol,
believeing him to be the one that summoned these creatures forth into this world
My absolute favorite Bran Mak Morn story! And, for me, the second most frequently read story by REH. A close second to Valley of the Worm 🪱🍻🍻🍻
fantastic, glad u enjoyed, and thanks for the suggestion
Howard's got a lot of great, insane stories, this one included! Some of my faves are: The Cat and the Skull, The Tower and the Elephant, (I forget its name, but the one where Conan joins a pirate crew and ends up in a weird Predator/The Hills Have Eyes scenario), (the one with the ape and mirrors that was loosely adapted into that sequence in Conan the Destroyer), and (that one where an ancient Stygian dark lord is ressurrected and tries to send the whole world back in time)
@@douglasstewart4790 I think the Predator/Hills Have Eyes one is Pool of the Black One.
The one with ape and mirrors is Rogues in the House.
The Stygian dark lord would be The Hour of the Dragon.
As usual a great job...your videos always take me back to the days of my youth...when I first discovered the stories of R E H. Thank you
Thank YOU !!
You are very welcome.
@@TheCybrarian I'll be back for me and promise to like and share.
This was nasty as fuck. I loved it
Good to see another great REH reading from you! I always look forward to what/ when you've got something new.
Fantastic rendition of a dark and savage tale, Thank you :)
My favorite Bran Mak Morn story and an absolutely stellar reading! Thanks for the experience.
Our pleasure!
What an awesome adaptation! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love your content but I have to say the repeating loop of laughter at the very climax of the horror really killed the mood. If you have any inclination to do a reupload this by far is the one thing that I would change. Please keep uploading love your content.
Brilliant absolutely brilliant
Shaz has an incredible laugh at the end. Fantastic work all of you.
Glad you enjoyed it. She likes playing a good villain.
That I do 😈
What a wonderful performance! ⚔🔥🙌
Fantastic job! Thank you!
Quality delivered as always.
Nice one folks!
Glad you enjoyed it, need to catch-up n play cards or somethin at some point.
Absolutely
Just awesome
Btw the opening music reminds me of Graeme Revell's score for Eaters of the Dead - the horror movie that eventually became 13th Warrior.
The choice of music is nice 😻😻😻
love the 13th warrior, great story, it's another great example of making something appear supernatural (even when it's not)
SUPERB
Awesomeness well done let's write a script for netflix
if u can get netflix to pay for it, we're in
Yeah, I think we can all envision what Netflix would do with the story.....
Let's not offer the MSM any more kindling to throw in the funeral pyre of our culture.
The funny thing is, with the monster girl craze and the SOUL-CRUSHING loneliness a lot of young men have nowadays, that witch woman would probably have a horde of young men all but beating her door down if they knew she was there.... not the best quality but if you're facing starvation an endless supply of low-quality burgers is still a feast.
she'd prob have an onlyfans, haha
First time meeting Bran Mak Morn.
then you should enjoy this...

Same here
Another exceptional presentation. So, did Bran get justice? Anger is a Mother F@@!er!
Well Bran did destroy the Tower of Trajan and defeat Titus Sula, but once you let the worms out of the bottle, there is really no putting them back.
@@TheCybrarian And he got a girl friend out of it. (yuck)
@@timfreckman7801 yeah, i don't think he wanted one...or the cult that grows up round the legend later
Chapt 3: Bran is ready to offer the witch-woman gold or even slain her enemies in exchange for her services, but all she asks for is a night of passion? This task is panning out to be easier than I anticipated 😁
yeah, til he finds out what he's caught off her
@@TheCybrarian A case of the worms 😁
@@GioTummy3463 hahaha
BTW I have your channel subscribed with all notifications on but I don't always get them. The only way I know you release something is to keep checking back.
UA-cam can be really iffy at times, we also post updates on our facebook and twiiter if that helps?
*promosm* 🤘
1:20:53 At this point, how is any of this surprising Bran? Was he expecting the subterranean monsters to use apache helicopters or something?
to be fair, this is set in a time when folk thought the sun was dragged across the sky by a chariot
All this because a roman merchant got greedy. Kek. Great voice acting!
Kek? Isn’t that a far right dog whistle
Hey bud all selling out to commercials is so Dewey decimal
