  • The trial of Karen Read in Massachusetts has been one of the most divisive in recent memory. Read claims she's being framed for the murder of her boyfriend, Boston Police officer John O'Keefe. But the Commonwealth says Read was driving drunk when she backed her SUV into O'Keefe during a blizzard in January 2022. Law&Crime's Angenette Levy details some of the things that have divided people most during the testimony of first responders in this episode of Crime Fix - a daily show covering the biggest stories in crime.

I read where they are not paying out any claims for this. They are only deleting data collected on 136 million people. I don’t get it. How do you know if you’re one them! I was going to file a claim, because I used it only once because of a satellite account I have and the rep ask me to use incognito to access my account. It worked. But there it was all my personal and banking information.
I don’t know, something just doesn’t seem right about all of this.

There are SO many red flags. I strongly believe that we will never know the whole truth as to what happened, sadly. However, if the jurors don’t see all of the reasonable doubt of her guilt then I just might give up on humanity…..

I know that isn’t rational but emotions aren’t always rational. I have a tendency to accept responsibility for things I have no control over. Therapy has helped a great deal. Nonetheless, it happens. I’m just throwing this out there for consideration. When anxiety increases, cognitive function decreases. It’s plausible in a sleep deprived state experiencing shock, and panic, one might question their own culpability. If she did it either knowingly or unknowingly, wouldn’t you think she would DENY it? This woman did everything in her power to try to save him. She wasn’t concerned about herself. She had the courage to even question her own actions. Not to mention Brian Albert ( the homeowner) had the basement floors done over a couple weeks later, sold the house and quickly got rid of their dog Cloe, who they had had for years, and had attacked other people before, who reported this to the police, there is evidence of this and how coincidental they immediately got rid of their dog after they had to appear for the Grand Jury!

Plus the fact that when they found the body, fire trucks, cops, ambulance etc...that nobody came outside to see what happened and identify their fellow officer? The police have been accused by the defense of incompetence and a murder coverup. The DA has accused Karen of being drunk and striking her BF with her car-intentionally or unintentionally. All of this could be true. At this stage of the evidence, I’m not really swayed by either argument yet 🤷🏻‍♀️

It's not uncommon for a person whom has endured abuse, albeit physical and/or psychological, to readily admit fault without properly assessing the situation. In an automatic panic where the prefrontal cortex is disconnected from the amygdala during flight or fight ( the part of your brain that plans the grocery list is shut off to preserve energy for functions of the body currently needed to survive i.e. coming face to face with a lioness). Her statements right after the situation should not be the primary focus, especially since she too, is just processing the situation. Which in hindsight, if one were to focus on her statement as proof, her behavior would be consistent with someone who's innocent, as had she committed planned murder, I doubt she would be saying anything or even reacting that way.

Mass State Police trooper Vile Proctor and his buddies on his chat are a disgrace to the People of Massachusetts. Reasonable doubt all over the place throughout trial.

She had a great paying job in finance. I think she’s an accountant. Between her and her family they are getting paid. My parents have lots of equity in more than one place and my brother is an ER dr I imagine if I needed a defense team they’d help me. Geez I hope they would. I dated a cop so this is scary. I will never date one again because I know of way too much corruption. I want no part of it. Who knows what is true here but IMO I think it’s pretty obvious.

If the dog was let out and found him on the ground I am positive he would have alerted, by barking or hovering over his body. I don't believe the dog was involved.
