- The driver of this magnificent 7¼" gauge locomotive also drives full size locomotives such as the famous 'Sir Nigel Gresley'. Careful use of the regulator, reverser and cylinder drain cocks gets the locomotive and its heavy carriages up to full speed on a steep, wet track without incident.

True, and the British train drivers' union is "The Associated Society of Locomotive and Firemen (ASLEF)" . However their own website only refers to drivers, whereas in the USA they are still called engineers.
In Indian Railways (IR), it's still Drivers since British Era. A new official name (Loco Pilot) is also given by authorities, but general public still calls them Drivers only

It is running on a private garden railway in England.
WHAT "steep hill"??!
The gradient is 1:30 which is a steep climb for a steam locomotive which can start skidding. Steel wheels on steel rails easily lose their grip.

Where can I drive one.
Joining a model engineers' society will probably offer you opportunities to drive a steam locomotive. Some heritage or commercial miniature railways also offer driver experiences for a fee.
