I think that the most important aspect of the boho style is the ethnic influence. The ethnic prints, the beaded, the handmade pieces, the stoned jewell.
Bit late, but yh I agree, very much inspired by Native American and African prints colours, and styles which is a key factor to point out.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for making this video. I am someone who looooooves long flowy dresses, they make up about 95% of my wardrobe! But I've been struggling with making them look more stylish vs. frumpy. This guide was just what I needed. I watched the Romantic Style video first and while I do love elements of that trend, something was still off. Once I watched this video I realised that my style is, in fact, more Boho. I started pairing my dresses with boho style bags, earrings and styling my hair in a more casual side braid, these simple changes have bought everything together and now I feel 10 times more confident in my clothes than I did before.
Dear Emma, Thank you for this. I also want to say that you can learn to embroider very easily, if you can draw an X you can do cross stitch. It's also very affordable. Hobby Lobby has a several kits with everything you need for less than $10. I think you should also learn about a product called waste canvas. Then you can put say cross stitch roses, or small daisies on any clothes you want. DMC threads come in more than 400 colors so you can match or get creative. Also tassels are very easy to make and add a great touch. I hope this helps. and you have a great day. Mrs. K.
The boho style is very simple, down to earth feel.. I find that thrift treasures have always been a go to for me and it really goes with the boho authenticity of it’s time.. easy on the wallet, which was originally how I see it started..💜☮️🕉️💚
I never realized how much I gravitate towards boho style elements. I like to mix boho, preppy, and classic pieces.
If you like 70’s clothing and mysteries, check out the TV show Thriller. There’s lots of episodes on UA-cam. Some are really entertaining and the ladies wear tons of fun prints, flowy pants, midi skirts, and boho dresses! Some good episodes are A Coffin For the Bride, Kiss Me and Die, A Midsummer Nightmare, and Only a Scream Away.
🌸🌷🌻🌳🌞🌹 I am all about mixing styles! In fact most people are a mix between at least two or three. I like boho but I especially like more of a retro 70s style. Since becoming a minimalist, I’ve really toned it down but I still incorporate those styles into my minimalist wardrobe. Thank you for the suggestion! I am a huge costume design nerd so I will definitely check it out!

This is exactly what I needed! I've been trying to improve my style according to my personality and definitely love the boho look, but I wasn't sure how to do that without spending a lot of money and thanks to you, now I realize that many of my clothes have some of these four elements! Definitely loved this.
I’m so glad to hear that! That is exactly why I wanted to make these videos. It is all about knowing what to look for and I always encourage people to start with the pieces that they already own. No need to go out and spend a ton of money!

This was great! It would be awesome to incorporate how you interpret this style with clothes you already own, that way we can also “shop our wardrobe” if we don’t feel like spending money at this time.
It’s so important to use what we already have! Most people already have great pieces in their wardrobe. It’s just knowing how to style them. Glad this helped!

Excellent video. I liked how you focused on the elements. I like boho but lean more to the Gap and Loft end of the style. I am classic with a twist so I can see me adding a little boho without going all into it completely. I look forward to this series. Bohemian is just basically hippie fashion for yuppies. I wonder how the original hippies would have felt about the fashion industry taking their look and making money out of it. I prefer to keep it authentic and buy from charity shops much like the original hippies. They couldn't afford expensive clothes and wore vintage, second hand and cheap fashion. Thats the true essence of hippie!

Yes they do! You can really create this boho style with any number of brands with the right pieces.
For many of us, Boho is more than a trend, it is a lifestyle. That has always been my style since way back and is a very customizable, free style, meaning all decades can be dressed and styled in Boho, even with current fashion, not only following the 60's, 70's styles, but all.

You can find anything second hand! These videos are more about the styles than the stores. They are just a visual reference! You can take any of these tips and use them to shop second hand 🤗

Emma Losey I didn’t know that eyelet was Boho. I love eyelet and some ruffles. I thought it was my 80s style sneaking back in, or just vintage.
This video was fantastic. I was expecting you to model a couple outfits at the end, from your wardrobe. That would be a fun addition.
Maria Siegfried I wouldn’t say eyelet is traditionally boho however I think it gives the feel of embroidery so if you have a more classic style or like more structure it is a great thing to incorporate. Definitely very romantic!

Not all flowy floral dresses are boho. A lot of the ones shown as examples are not boho at all, just cheap floral prints. Boho has a very sophisticated, complicated pattern often have cultural and ethnic references to it.
Etsy is a good site for Boho clothes and accessories.
Good overview of bohemian style but I have to disagree with your thoughts on wide leg cropped jeans because I find them ugly and unflattering on everyone. Guess we all have different taste.

Yes! I am only using examples from websites since 1. I have a capsule wardrobe so I am unable to show all of the styles with my own clothing and 2. I am unable to go thrifting at this time. All of the information translates to any number of brands or thrifting if you are looking to shop second hand. I will definitely try to include more sustainable brands though! Everlane claims to be ethical and sustainable when they really aren’t. But that’s a whole different topic! Haha
