I got my calathea a humidifier and pruned off I transplanted her to terracotta pot and gave her an airy soil mix I pruned all the browning leaves off and started giving her purified water only. If she still keeps browning I give up on them for the 50th time.
Perfect! I got one yesterday, reported it and trimmed off the brown tips. Same pot only a little bigger. Gave it some fish emulsion and Miracle Gro fertilizer. This morning its so happy it grew! Also sprayed Miracle Gro LeaF Shine on it too and its under a plant lamp. Thanky for the tips 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 🍃
I have a real small one and even right next to a humidifier (on a stand so it gets the most mist) and only purified water it's still giving me grief. Should I move it into my terrarium?
I get excited when you post because I know you giving something I can use. I just looked at some of those plants yesterday and the store had an abundance of them. Is this plant a good plant for beginners and if so is it really insect or pest prone
Thanks Kim. It’s a Calathea and to be honest they’re not beginner plants if you want to keep them perfect. I’m sure someone with your skill level will do fine though 😁
@@kbm4409 Not beginner friendly at all, right now I’m struggling to keep mine happy ! They’re divas ! They love humidity which apparently, I haven’t been good at even though I water mine once week ! 👀
That doesn’t help. You may have cut off the browning leaves, but the others will soon follow to brown. There’s an underlying issue. Most likely lack of humidity
Nice now it may continue to die in peace
🤣🤣🤣

@@SheffieldMadePlants she put out her first perfect leaf no crispy edges and she’s already pushing another new leaf !!!
I also did the same thing to my calathea, she is giving out new perfect leaves 🍃
@@CarolineCouture-os3ugalso, it's not about necessarily high but consistent humidity and climate + no direct light

Thx YT & SMP, for throwing this short, reminds me to bring in my collected rain water
Now it's gonna die in style😎
I’ll put mine in water and call it a day because she is fussy and I have other crying babies to tend to
These are the funniest plant ppl ever 😂🤣
Hey Sheff, do you have any videos or tips regarding fertilizing Calatheas?
No sorry no video on that at the moment. Feed once a month using a good feed like Focus

Will probably do well there.
@@SheffieldMadePlants thank you!! Will move her in tonight. Finally got a couple ferns out of triage so I have the space!

I have the same plant the leaves are turning brown. What can be the issue? How to save the plant?
Calatheas are know for this problem. They need high humidity, moist soil and pure water.
@@SheffieldMadePlants Thanks

I have same plants, just clean Yday
What a glow up!
😮🌠🌱👍
Very nice
Nice 👌 👌
Is the rattlesnake Calathea a easier type to take care of??? I really want one they are so awesome. looking.
I’ve heard it’s a bit easier but not had one myself. I tend to avoid now 😔
Ive almost had all calatheas and I would say it is just slightly easier, but not much
I have a baby one and I notice that it’s less fussy so far. As compared to others.
@@SheffieldMadePlants the one in this video is the peacock 🦚 plant? So pretty IRL.
