Now, I could be very wrong about the order of things, but to me it seems like you've influenced more UA-camrs to start consolidating progress into one video. Either way it goes, I cant imagine the work that goes into it; especially the uncontrollables like wishing you'd gotten a certain shot in the older footage... losing footage 🥴 (Knock on wood). The effort is greatly appreciated + we also get to enjoy the videos where you take us along in real-time. Love the variety on your channelS. 🔌✌🏿
Thank you so much :) definitely a lot of work, but it makes a much more satisfying viewer experience so I try and do it as often as possible! But it’s hard when you just ‘need to get a video out’ … some weeks I’m doing a lot of filming and none of the videos will be published for months to come 😅
I know it’s not appropriate to comment on other people’s physical appearance, but, you’re looking very “healthy,” lately. This was a wonderful combination of chit chat and information. Not to mention all of the time you’ve put into it. Thank you!
This plant has been on my wish list for a long time and I gotta say this is the best update style video i've seen on this plant. I'm definitely getting one soon
🎢 I love how chill you are with pests! Have you never had a full on infestation that moved to multiple plants? As a beginner I had basically a whole house thrips infestation. Now I know what to look for and am much more relaxed and careful about examining my plants regularly and treating as needed. Nothing more satisfying than squishing a stray thrips!
I've had some alocasias die from pests for sure ... but it's a never ending battle, so after 4-5 years in this hobby I just noticed that me panicking over it won't help them either :D so i just see it more relaxed :)
🎢 Another banger of a video!! Great job! It is very cool to see 💚To be sure it was a lot to put together for you. Thank you for taking us along on this journey!
I love this video and all of your videos to be honest! It is so cool to see how it grows and the ups/downs of one of your plants over the span of a year. Thank you for putting forth so much effort. It doesn’t go unnoticed and it is appreciated!
Awesome video, Jan! 🎢 I really apprciate the effort you put into these videos. The transition from the smaller pole to the larger one was really creative. I hope you keep making these 'full process' videos, they are very educational.
@@sydneyplantguy Thank you Jan for the videos. I've been watching your channel the last few months. I'm learning a lot from you! I really like the look of the lamp light setup you have in the background beginning at 4 seconds into the video. Can you please share where you got this setup? What kind of light are you using? Where did you get the lamp? It's awesome!
I'm starting to understand that plants can survive setbacks in ways that animals can't. I had to cut 2/3 of a plant off due to heavy sun damage... But it didn't die and it's going to grow back and it'll actually be stronger because cutting it back enabled me to put it on a moss pole. It really hurt to chop up a plant for the first time, but it's okay. It's in my kitchen under a grow light and *not dead.* I'm used to nurturing animals, and they don't bounce back the same way.
🎢 love this style of video! Thanks for taking the time to document the progress of your plant and the insights about the FB being more resilient than expected. Mine got root root about 4 months ago. I cleaned the roots, popped it in water and it started to regrow roots almost immediately. I’m now just waiting until spring before I move it to a non water medium. Thanks again!
Looks like the beauty is going well! Mine has thrown out three green leaves since I moved it onto a pole... But the same conditions. So weird! Will have to cut it back and hope for the best
Wow!! It's soo cool to see this 12 month journey of the Florida Beauty take shape, Jan!! Thanks sooo much for all the work you put into these. It's just a great time catching up and being inspired by your videos. Keep up the amazing work! 🎢🎢🎢 😄
🎢 I have this same plant and it has been a trooper to put up with all of the changes I put it through. Probably top 5 in my collection. 😍 Thank you for your content!
I love all of your videos and I really like the ones that show a plants Journey overtime. I imagine that does take a lot of time and effort and organization so just here to say I appreciate that you put your heart and soul into these videos and do such a fantastic job. I just got a Florida green baby recently so hopefully I’ll learn some helpful info to start it off right
Gorgeous!! I got a Florida beauty and a ghost node last year. The ghost node has been a constant struggle. It’s been stalled at two babies leaves for probably almost 6 months by now. I’m pretty stumped about what’s keeping it from growing. The Florida beauty node grew way better, throwing semi-mature shaped leaves right away. But they’ve all been full variegated 😢 I trimmed it back to an older node and am hoping against hope Growing rare nodes is a fun gamble, but I think I’ll be sticking to TC plantlets and more progressed propagations. I’ve had too many nodes turn out full reverted or full variegated, which has taken away from the fun of it for me. The gamble is fun but the “losing” isn’t 😂 🎢
Can second the experiences of the ghost … i bought a tc ghost, it’s still the same size as the beauty at the beginning of the video despite having it for almost a year now too
🎢Well done! my morning coffee and i enjoyed this journey, your plants are beautiful even when you have "ups and downs" and i love your chill approach to pests and challenges. Brad is so cute he just wants all of the attention lol hope you feel better soon!
Great video and very appreciative of seeing the full journey ❤Similar journey to my Florida ghost, although I now get fully white leaves. She was staying quite small with soft leaves, I gave her a moss pole and she thrived!
Love the Florida beauty! I also find it likes ambient more than high humidity. I also find it grows well all year round and isn’t too temperature dependent 🎢
Hey Jan. Do you realise that you have been credited with influencing/shaping the whole indoor plant industry world-wide? I subscribe to a lot of plant channels and many of them talk about your channel and reference you 👍👏. Well deserved acknowledgement of your professionalism and hard work IMHO.

Well done again Jan. So well documented over a year's time! ( Can't help but notice you've got your Ikea light by the stairs with a nice little plant grouping behind you there . Very pretty😻)I can concur the easy going nature of the Philodendron Florida Green hybrids ( P. Squamiferum X P. Pedatum) I have Florida Beauty, Ghost mint and solid green Florida ( either reverted or mis- marked Beauty)all grouped with several other moss poles which are keeping 65-70% humidity in a warm 68-70°F corner with a Mother grow light. My variegated Beauty and Ghost seem to be tracking with your 6 month mark with short internodes hanging out low on the moss poles. The solid green however has begun to climb it's second pole topper with 7-8 cm internodal spacing. I have the variegated on the same pole hoping to fill in the gaps nicely. Probably only gonna chop solid green to let the variegated Beauty catch up. 😻
🎢 mine has longer internodes but I know is due to the light. Just like yours the stem doesn’t cling to the pole but the roots eventually find the way into the moss. Overall, awesome 🌱 plant
Thank you so much for this video! I've been a fan back when you shook your gorgeous leaves on Instagram. It's been so awesome and inspiring to see you grow and expand over the years. The Florida beauty has long been one of my faves, the colors are so pretty!
I just got my first Florida beauty and it’s a decent size larger than that at first but I’m so excited about to build my first moss poles because a lot of my plants need them, using ur video to build them!!!
First I want to thank you for ALL your devotion to us and your delightful way of sharing your knowledge. It is so encouraging, that I'm sharing and translating your videos to Germans not fluent in the English language. Since so many of us live in shoe-box apartments, it allows us to fullfill our dreams of majestic plants. You now have a following of helicopter plant parents around FFM, too. 😊 Now I'd like your guidance on potting. Clearly I miscalulated. About a month ago, I placed my Monstera cutting onto a 10cm D-pole (filled with your Monstera recipe w New Zealand tree Fern Fiber) into a 17cm pot. Within this short time, she has developed 1.5 leaves (2nd one is not unfurled yet.) So she clearly loves her home. PROBLEM: Her roots are already growing out of the pot on the bottom AND Top MASSIVELY! I know they should be rootbound, but I must repot. How large should I go? 1 developing Air root is already working into the pole D-style pole. Can this style of pole even accomodate the Monstera root system? The same week I put my Manjula pothos on the same size pole, also into a 17cm pot. I even took unrooted leaf clippings in. They drooped about for a week or two, but I can already see the roots and al 3 leaves are perky. The rooted cuttings are shooting out a new leaf almost weekly!! It's crazy! PROBLEM: Those roots (even though much finer) are also coming out of the bottom of the pot a good 4-5cm already. Should I cut that, till the roots get stronger or repot? This year Germany has major humidity and heat. We've been at 80% and 32°C!!! Isn't it better to do this during our growing season? I'm just apprehensive because they are so delicate. See my dilemma? I'd also wriyten you once, regarding mold on the pole where was light. Well, it turned out to be a film that collected on the NZ Tree Fern Fibers. I was using pyretherin to get rid of knats. 😂 Just incase somebody else can use this info. Your family must be so proud of your venture! 👏 Kudos👌
Thank you :) regarding roots coming out the bottom - that does noy mean the llant is root bound! Roots like oxygen so that’s why they often find their way out of the pot to look for oxygen :) there’s no right or weong answer here, especially without seeing a photo of the plant but if u want to repot, do it when the conditions are at their best :)
Liked the video very much. It took care of my fears that stopped me doing this earlier. Totally off the subject, the foliage focus spray, when do you spray the leaves (for example, day or evening)? Do you spray and leave it or do you wipe them immediately? Btw, the ups and downs with the beauty, that happens. Really thought you just cruised through the whole thing seamlessly. Made this much more attainable to do. 🎉
🎢Great video...I am amazed by how small to how large your Florida Beauty has grown...but not too because it is you growing it. Also, I bought GT Foliage Focus because of you, but when you say diluted amount..how much per gallon would you say? Your plants are great btw😊🪴👍🏼
I like the OUR channel ✨ Beautiful well recorded journey of this beauty !!! I do think this is the one plant that does not need a moss pole,as long as it has support and enough ligth it grows really well ,mine is tall and happy without one, just wanted to share that...but like you said its fine to use one later on 👌 🎢 👋 💚🍀🌵🌿💚
I have heard they are hard to propagate though, so while it might not need the pole to grow initially, it’s definitely angood idea for future propagation :)
Flora. Thought so :). And ohh I still have mine in the little pot that it came in. So I’m going to repot it tomorrow 😅

@@sydneyplantguy Thank you 💖
🎢 hope youre feeling better soon 🫶🏻
Thank you:)
Waiting to do this with my sport var ghost since I had to chop it up a few months back😭can’t wait for mine to look as beautiful as yours!
Time for me to plant my Florida beauty on a moss pole!
🎢 great video! Just got one and I am excited to see how the variegation progresses. Thank you for the helpful info!
Thanks :)
🎢
Just wanted to drop in and say thank you for sharing your experiences and plant care tips. You have helped me come so far!
Thank you so much :) happy growing !
I got one called florida yellow ghost
Cant wait to see what it grows into😃
Liked the video very much.
Thank you :) i don’t use it as a foliar spray, I use the nutrients with my weekly watering :)
@sydneyplantguy So sorry, my bad.
Lovely plant! Thank you for taking us on that journey with you! 🎢

Thank you:)!
🎢Great video...I am amazed by how small to how large your Florida Beauty has grown...but not too because it is you growing it. Also, I bought GT Foliage Focus because of you, but when you say diluted amount..how much per gallon would you say? Your plants are great btw😊🪴👍🏼
Thank you :) I use the recommended dilution on the bottle :) 3-5ml per litre
I like the OUR channel ✨
Beautiful well recorded journey of this beauty !!!
I do think this is the one plant
that does not need a moss pole,as long as it has support and enough ligth it grows really well ,mine is tall and happy without one, just wanted to share that...but like you said its
fine to use one later on 👌
🎢 👋
💚🍀🌵🌿💚
I have heard they are hard to propagate though, so while it might not need the pole to grow initially, it’s definitely angood idea for future propagation :)
Yes 100%
