    I'm going on 4 months with the weekly shots of Ozempic.
    1st month = Extreme nausea the first week with intermittent Nausea the remaining weeks.
    2nd month = No nausea but occasional stomach pains, especially at night. The pains were so sharp it would wake me from a dead sleep. Each time I would get out of bed sit on the commode and do breathing exercises, which helped.
    3rd month = Occasional light Nausea but would subside with soda water and saltiness. Extreme fatigue...9 to 10 hours of sleep per night and I'm still tired after all this sleep.
    4th month = Lots of gas, bloating, anxiety, depression, constant stomach pangs, many trips to the bathroom not diarrhea just a lot of pooping. Sometimes 4xs per hour. The depression and stomach pangs are most concerning. Still fatigue.
    Total weight loss 15 pounds, A1c went from 8.6 to 7.1
    I'm going to continue to power through 25 pounds to my weight goal.

      I'm suffering from terrible depression too, on 0.25 mg. Tearful, fretful, bursting into tears for no reason....I've had to come off Ozempic which I'm bitterly disappointed about, it was really helping with my now lifelong weight problem.

I am hoping to start Ozempic after meeting with my doctor on Wednesday after having serious nausea issues that effected my daily life while on Mounjaro (the worst came after two weeks on the 5mg dosage). Hi, just stumbled across your channel. Very informative. My Dr. prescribed me the ozempic going from .25 to 1 after one month. I had the burping issue that was awful. It has been 3 months now and I don't seem to have anymore side affects and my blood sugar stays around the 90's now. (it used to be in the 200's). Anyway, I just subcribed and I enjoyed watching.

    Luv your info on this drug. I haven’t heard anyone talk about Colitis while on this particular drug. I was on Saxenda for a month or two and didn’t have a bowl movement for a week and developed a severe Colitis attack and was in the hospital for 5 days! It was the worst sickness I’ve ever had. I quit taking the medication for several months and tried it again. A little less than a year later I had another attack that put me in the hospital for 2 days. Stopped it altogether. Just started on Ozempic 5 or 6 weeks ago and had a very minor attack this last Saturday. I have added Milk of Magnesia to my diet if I go 24 hrs without a bowl movement. I’m on the constipated side anyway because of all the meds I take anyway for blood pressure, cholesterol, and so on. I’m only 56 but I know all those meds can cause constipation on their own. I would just want to tell people to really watch if you go longer than 48 hrs without a bowl movement. Thank You for your important information on this subject! ❤

    I was just placed on Ozempic after a DX: of type two diabetes, it took me two weeks to get the medicine due to shortages. However, after picking up the medicine today, I’m very hesitant to start due to the brutal side effects. I keep reading about them because I went through so much when I was on injectables for multiple sclerosis I ended up stopping those and just treating the symptoms and I really just don’t want to go down that rabbit hole again. One thing I cannot deal with is nausea and after reading everything about this I don’t even know if it’s worth it for me to try it however, I have to get this type two diabetes under control. When I was a prediabetic I was having metForman but after a few months it really did a number on my stomach so I was taking off that medication and then suddenly my glucose readings went through the roof and my doctor prescribed Ozempic. I can’t believe they can’t come up with something that doesn’t have his horrible side effects. My primary doctor did make sure that I have plenty of nausea medicine and stomach medicine on the word to deal with side effects but I already deal with feeling so sick with MS. I don’t know if I really want to do this at this point. I was told that somewhere around 80% of patients don’t even have symptoms but I have yet to hear if someone that hasn’t. Any thoughts? It has been a tough few years for me. I had a wonderful career as a flight nurse that all went away after a diagnosis of secondary progressive MS. I could no longer remember simple things and now I just tried to take one day at a time and do the best I can. However, now I have to overcome yet another diagnosis of Diabetes T2. The medication for MS did nothing for me at never slow down the progression my MRIs just kept getting worse. Are there truly people that don’t have side effects? This is such a concern for me as I don’t want to feel sicker than I already do. The only medication I use now is to treat the symptoms of MS as they come and go The only daily medication I take, is carvedilol for tachycardia which seems to be related to CNS due to MS Thank you for any words of advice you can provide.

    • @NursingBizness
      @NursingBizness  11 місяців тому +4

      I would have to agree that I hear way more often that side effects are present versus not. Consider speaking to your personal provider about the following: 1. Consider your injection sites - some people experience less side effects when injected in the thigh or arm due to slower absorption rates 2. Discuss the option of Mounjaro versus Ozempic - Mounjaro tends to have less side effects in my experience. As always, this is not medical advice but simply ideas you can talk with your personal provider about. Keep me up to date!

      😢😢😢 I'm about to start this medicine and am very afraid...I worry about my hypo thyroid and the effects this might have on me...I usually suffer from side-effects and refuse to take many medications that have giving me problems...the stress caused by fear just makes diabetes worse

    • @welovedogs6835
      @welovedogs6835 11 місяців тому +3

      Well, I took the leap and took the injection last night and I ended up in the emergency room with a bad reaction now I’m not trying to scare you, but I’m just saying if you don’t want to take it don’t and talk to your doctor as soon as possible. Doctors don’t know everything they are human beings, and sometimes they get along but if your gut feeling tells you not to do it if you’ve had a bad reaction with medication before don’t be pressured into taking something you don’t want to do but definitely call your provider and talk to them about other options as there are many. I really thought hard about taking this thing and I’m really sorry I gave in because I’m sure paying for it and that was just one injection, I was already getting my numbers down on my own but they insisted I get on medication but now I’ve completely decided to refuse any medication for type two diabetes. I know that I can turn it around. I have willpower and everything I need to do this I just think that the hype about this drug being so great is not so great and that came directly from the ER doctor that treated me , they were great to me in the ER. I can’t believe that some thing that sounds so promising can create such havoc for everyone but that’s exactly what I went through with medication for MS and they took me off all of it now the only thing I do for MSs control of the pain and whatever a little symptoms come up with PRN medication. I know this medication works for some people but it’s definitely not one size fits all by any means and actually a lot more people have trouble with it then they report that’s what the ER told me. I wish you well. ♥️🙏🏻

    • @NursingBizness

      I lost roughly 30 lbs. I did not change my diet or incorporate an exercise program. Stopping the medication does depend on your individual situation. For example, if you are insulin resistant you may need to continue the medication because your body doesn’t process carbs normally. If you are simply using the medication for weight loss then you would be able to stop after you met your desired weight.

    Is diabetic retinopathy something that only diabetics need to be concerned about, or as a non-diabetic, should I be concerned? Ozempic is very dehydrating for me; it affects my face especially. I get dry eye which I use drops for. I drink nothing but water, albeit not enough sometimes. I am currently taking 1 mg of ozempic. I have been titrations for 8 months slowly. I have also taken breaks from it because of the constant queezyness I feel most of the time. I have also only noticed recently that ozempic really affects my sense of taste - flavor is dulled in pretty much everything. When I go off, sense of taste reverts back to normal. I recently took 3 weeks off just to give my body a rest (and I was going to the beach for a few days and wanted to enjoy my food). I gained 3 lbs but I really think it was water weight. It has come off after just one week back on the medication. I have tried a lot of different things through the years to combat my weight and this is the only thing that works almost effortlessly - I almost feel like a normal eater! Thanks for sharing great information!

    • @NursingBizness

      From our experience, yes, diabetic retinopathy can be something to be monitored and tested for if you are pre-diabetic.
      My family member, a young man, gained weight only recently, during the pandemic, is overweight but not obese, and is now pre-diabetic.
      He already has diabetic retinopathy changes in both eyes.
      If you are concerned about symptoms please see your doctor straight away and have a specialised eye test.

    I found the side effects to be minimal in my case (type 2 diabetic on a good diabetic's diet)...and overweight.
    The blood sugars were much better controlled with ozempic...and the weight loss was beginning to be more notable...and it was all going well.
    Now the trouble is getting the medication here in Aus...the same with Trulicity...this all happened when the media heralded these glutides as "wonder weight loss drugs"...then the pharmacies here were bombarded by the massesand regularly out of stock...they'd have it trickle in blah blah blah...all for the more vain of society taking it up for "miracle" weight loss...whilst us poor buggers who require it for medicinal purposes...struggle to access it.
    Just ridiculous that it isn't prioritised for those requiring it for diabetes treatment...than for those using for vanities sake (and don't get me wrong...I know not all were doing for vanities sake...but seriously...the bandwagon jumpers should be placed lower down the pecking order for these types of medications).
    Have now been without either of them for nearly 2-3 months, and up go the sugars and the weight gain...no matter how much I increase exercise or modify the diet to suit...and it's not available until at least early 2023 at the earliest....just beggars belief.
    Sorry...rant over!!!!!

      If you just follow the carnivore food plan then the fat loss results and lower BSL numbers happen immediately. Wednesday morning I had a low BSL of 6.2 before breakfast. Usually my numbers are higher. For breakfast I had half of a small pawpaw and an hour later by BSL was 13.7. Healthy fresh fruit is toxic for me. I notice that it happens with all tropical fruits. My weight has also dropped 3 kgs since i began the carnivore plan 3 weeks ago. This morning I had 10 slices of fatty salami and there was no increase in the BSL. My constipation and gas troubles have reduced by 90 % in the 3 weeks. Dr Berry has pulled me away from so much misery . He also does shows with heart specialist Dr Ovadia and a keto senior doctor named Westermann. No Ozempic for me. Tasty meat and a great new lifestyle at 71 in Australia.

      Two tubes and only five pounds? Sorry, but that doesn't sound like it's worth it.

    Does taking this medication make your body lazy to burn fat without it. I mean will my body depend on this forever like insulin?

      It won’t depend on the medicine - but once you stop taking the medication you will no longer see the positive outcomes from it.

    Horrible side effects like constant vomiting, nausea, constipation, gas, and bloating, and that's on the lowest dosage. Worst meds ever! I quit months ago and it's still in my system.
