Hi! You can make this pie well in advance. I would keep mine at room temperature for up to 2 days, in the fridge for up to 1 week. I do like this pie served at room temp, so make sure to take it out of fridge ahead of time. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

So, if you're still checking these comments, why has corn syrup gotten such a bad rep, and can I use it instead of the maple here (I really don't like maple syrup /;)? Is it a 1-for-1 exchange? Maple syrup isn't very sweet either and it tastes really great here. Corn syrup is just not very natural, that's why a lot of people try to stay away from it... Also, a lot of people try to stay away from corn products. Yes, you can use the same amount of corn syrup as maple syrup!

Hi! I don't find that it's too sweet. I personally don't like super sweet desserts but I love this pie! Pure maple syrup (not breakfast syrup, which is just corn syrup) is actually not too sweet. I wouldn't recommend reducing the sugar anymore than a quarter cup (down to 3/4 cups) since it will affect the texture and filling. Enjoy!! :)

@@ayshhaaaaaa Yes, you can blind bake the crust beforehand, but I wouldn't bake it completely. I usually prebake for about 20 minutes. You won't need to change the final baking time though, since the filling needs to bake. I would place the pie onto a baking sheet to prevent the bottom from getting to dark.

I'm so glad you found my recipe! It really depends on the pie recipe. I only blind bake if I'm making a tart or a pie where it won't be baked for too long. For this pecan pie, it's in the oven for quite some time and crust gets a chance to brown nicely.

You can use golden syrup , also called light treacle. You can also make a substitute for golden syrup at home using sugar, water, and lemon. There are some recipies for it online.

Hi! I've had it for many years; I think I got it from Home Goods. Corn syrup is mostly a chemical syrup, while pure maple syrup is a natural sweetener. I prefer to use natural ingredient whenever possible. Enjoy! :)

I'm so sorry to hear that! Every oven bakes differently, maybe yours was running a little bit low. I recommend covering the edges with foil to prevent the crust from burning and baking for longer.
@@TatyanasEverydayFood The edges of the crust were okay, I should have backed the pie for like 20 minutes without the filling and then bake it again with the filling because the problem area of a pie is always in the middle.
I've made this recipe twice now, and the pie filling does not set up, so when I cut into the center, it is just liquid and inedible. I made sure to follow the recipe correctly and didn't miss any of the simple ingredients or steps. Help!!!
@Tatyana's Everyday Food yes ma'am, on both. Baked for 50 minutes. The top and the pie crust edges were fantastic. Then, when I cut into it, runny, liquid. Just never set up. I let it cool for a couple of hours before slicing it. I'm baffled.

yes, no corn syrup, but you loaded it with refined sugar which is just as bad for you. If you use sugar free maple syrup and a healthy sugar substitute you are far better off. Thanks for the recipe

@Tatyana's Everyday Food yes ma'am, on both. Baked for 50 minutes. The top and the pie crust edges were fantastic. Then, when I cut into it, runny, liquid. Just never set up. I let it cool for a couple of hours before slicing it. I'm baffled.
@@lastans18 Hmm, very strange! Did you try refrigerating the pie overnight to see if that helped the filling set? I make this pie a few times a year and it's always set for me... I'm wondering what could be the issue.
@Tatyana's Everyday Food that part I did not do. I had to make it, cool it, and then take it with for an Easter fsmily event. I'm going to try again this weekend because I'm like you, I can't figure out what I missed, and it's driving me nuts. Because I know I had to have missed something.

Too much sugar
yes, no corn syrup, but you loaded it with refined sugar which is just as bad for you. If you use sugar free maple syrup and a healthy sugar substitute you are far better off. Thanks for the recipe

@@tamekaconley9753 totally wrong on that . just google healthy pecan pie. I eat it every once in awhile. Pecans are excellent for you. sub almond flour for white flour sweeten with monk fruit , 100 x sweeter than sugar but low Glycemic.
