This is consistently the most interesting pod I watch ... and I watch a few. The lads aren't from superstar backgrounds and the guest are solid footie people .....quality combination
need to get hodgy back on for more Darlo/ Reynolds stories - gutted there wasn't many but a brilliant watch/ listen nonetheless. absolute Darlo legend.
I've got quite a bit of Boro stuff from 74. Papers. Season team specials, local press etc. Grandfather was ex keeper. Returned to his roots and retired in Saltburn.
What a lovely fella hodgy is ,I remember him well from my time at darlo very fondly and it is true that George did come to each member of staff and asked us how much the club owed us,mine was 3 months pay. I just wish that hodgy had stayed because my son signed for darlo on a pro contract just after he left and I know he would have excelled under hodgy.
Definitely needs a part 2 to go over his managerial career properly. Be good to hear more about George and the stories about some of the older pros which I think he brought in, Bobby Peta, Phil Stamp, Clyde Wijnhard, Craig Hignett, Alun Armstrong ect.
Everyone in Darlington hates Reynolds still to this day even no he’s 6ft under , he destroyed our club ! David Hodgson however is a legend and will always be respected 👏👏⚪️⚫️
Very very interesting episode that one lads, some unbelievable stories. By the way old Parky son looking well, losing some reyt timber, be down to welterweight soon keep going like you are shag, top boy. Up the owls 🇩🇪🦉 x
Oh I know he was North East. Never lost his accent. After Footy he stayed In the Wrexham area. Unfortunately at the end he had ill health the Footballers curse Dementia 😢😢😢
Few ex birmingham players i would love to see on here, Robert Hopkins, Noel Blake, Paul Tait, Barry Fry, Liam Daish, Paul Devlin, few stories amongst that lot. Robert Hopkins would be great,
I'm prepared to say he is my favourite Chelsea manager to this day. They'd be no Chelsea now if it wasn't for John Neal. Bought Nevin , Dixon, Speedie, Spackman, for next to nothing.
Please get a guest on that we've heard of. Tiger Woods, Zinedine Zidane, Susan Boyle. Someone famous please. Plus many, many Tottenham players. Only have Caulker and Clive Allen. Robbie Keane, Dimitar Berbatov, Gareth Bale. Those would be good. Thanks all the best. God bless. Best wishes. Anonymous xx
Which football club did Tiger Woods ad Susan Boyle play for? Given it's a football podcast. You have to appreciate there are players in the lower divisions who offer some great stories.
He did not say they played Liverpool in November. Darlington did draw Liverpool in the third round, which would have been played in the Jan. The first game against Rochdale was on the 2nd of Dec. Then there was a replay later in December. Hodgy was a couple of days out on recollection. Shame on you for questioning his integrity.
As an 11 year old kid and Sunderland daft I wrote to Lawrie mac and got a tour of roker. Met Davie Hodgson in the changing room and he was so nice to me, 40 odd years ago but never forget it.
Hodgy giz a wave Hodgy hodgy giz a wave .Super super Baz super super Baz super super Baz super Barry Conlon . Hope Hodgy is well loved that man at darlo
I remember him playing. I watched him. He wasn't very good at all. I was just adding some first hand context to this idea that he was somehow hard done to. Seemed to be making a load of excuses I.e. no physio, needed an arms round me, got an injury, could have been great. I'm very chill. He seems a nice fella, but the reality was he wasn't anywhere nesr good enough for us. No problem is disgrace in that. H3 should just say so.
Apparently, the staff at Liverpool were of the opinion that Sammy Lee was coming towards the end of his career and wanted him to be his replacement, but they always kept the players guessing about what their intentions were.
Pulling the directors trousers down steaming drunk 😂😂😂😂 I’ve literally got tears in my eyes! Great episode lads 👍🏾
This is consistently the most interesting pod I watch ... and I watch a few.

Best named guest ever on the show…
We need a part 2 to hear the rest of the George Reynolds stories!
Mass ive plus one, reynolds was barmy and tales about his antics are often good entertainment
One of the best to do it……..Worked with him for 18 months and never did see him fall out with anyone, just brilliant.
Nobody knows you mate.
No nobody knows you, at least Simon has a tag name 🤣
@@paulgorman1305just press on my letter mate its quite simple
Ex Leeds Si Johnson? When are you getting on here lad!
I think I do 👀 played premier league football
What a legend. One of the best that. The hotel story with Liverpool was class🤣🤣🤣
''He wanted to pay me cash'' ... what was his background? ''he was a bank robber'' 🤣🤣
Now that boys was one of the best and I’ve listened to them all! There has got to be a part two SUPERB BRAVO!!
What cracking energy hodgson gives...great episode
I Think thats the best and most intriguing pod cast i have ever listened to ,i hope there's a part two ,plese 😊
How great to have known Bob Paisley like that eh ....one of footballs legends.
Love this it's amazing every Monday I can't wait

Had never heard of David Hodgson before this episode. Terrific, just terrific. Keep up the good work chaps.
Your ma would know him
I remember him, never really did much at Liverpool
need to get hodgy back on for more Darlo/ Reynolds stories - gutted there wasn't many but a brilliant watch/ listen nonetheless. absolute Darlo legend.
Darlo people are great people it has to be said. Their banter is off the charts funny

Just got to say great podcast. Thanks for asking my questions. Really perked me up after a tough day.
Topman Hodgy...my mate when he was at sunderland and Boro...great lad 👍😉
This was a really interesting one. Thanks guys.
Even has a Hartlepool fan......Best yet
I've got quite a bit of Boro stuff from 74. Papers. Season team specials, local press etc. Grandfather was ex keeper. Returned to his roots and retired in Saltburn.
Top episode that lads , what a great storyteller .
Never knew Bob Paisley was South African 😂😂😂😂⚽️
Absolutely tremendous guest lads 👏👏👏👏👏👏 top top bloke
As a pools fan I can’t believe I’m saying this but that’s the best episode of the lot

Well done lads great player and a great interview really enjoyed that 👏
Just watched some video of him. He looked genuine quality.
Surprising he didn't make it at Liverpool.
Part 2 needed. Barely touched the surface with the Darlo stuff
Definitely needs a part 2 to go over his managerial career properly. Be good to hear more about George and the stories about some of the older pros which I think he brought in, Bobby Peta, Phil Stamp, Clyde Wijnhard, Craig Hignett, Alun Armstrong ect.
Agree with players getting what they can get but there should be a wage cap now its absolutely insane and has destroyed our game.
Dave Hodgson Darlington legend
Best episode lads, what a character 👍❤️
Brownies father was the best.Always look forward to A new one. EUROS are going to a bit of fun. CHEERS.
I agree really enjoyed it

Oooops I missed out loved Dave Hodgson as a fella 👍🏻
Get a part 2 done with Hodgy. So much more about Darlo he could talk about. Local hero!!
Please get him back. He skipped over his other international experiences and I want to hear more about George and poor Darlington.
Great stuff , Mick Wadsworth tells a good tale about George Reynolds and Michael Knighton
Great episode. Would love to hear more on Reynolds.
Brownie at home with a fellow striker who only scored 27 career goals😂😂
He was more striker cum midfielder…pretty skilful actually.
27 more professional goals than you 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Kenny loved a penny😂😂 typical Milton boy 😂😂😂
This is fantastic 🤩
Good crack, the north east lads always seem to be the best ones 😂 get Nicky summerbee on
Good to hear someone who knows Grobbelaar defend him and say the bribery charge was not true.
They do an interview with Bruce, that's good too
At certain times during the video I could see George Eastham.
Need to get Gary Brabin, the man, the myth, the legend on the podcast. He would have some box office stories!
I think it was Lloyd Owusu who said he's a prick, stabbed Richard Money in the back to get the Luton job.
@@MirageMusicUk Even more of a reason to get him on to give his side of the story. I've never heard anyone who's ever met him say he's a prick..
Please get get him back in! Great one !
Funniest part of pod is parkys back fat hanging over the chair
Woow that was a boss podcast
Just read George Reynolds wikipedia jesus 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Everyone in Darlington hates Reynolds still to this day even no he’s 6ft under , he destroyed our club ! David Hodgson however is a legend and will always be respected 👏👏⚪️⚫️
I'm sure they called them trainers back in the day. Basically a man with a bucket and sponge😂
Very very interesting episode that one lads, some unbelievable stories. By the way old Parky son looking well, losing some reyt timber, be down to welterweight soon keep going like you are shag, top boy. Up the owls 🇩🇪🦉 x
Transfer list. Now that’s a term I’ve not heard for years. Does it still exist
Love Hodgy ….. he was ice cool 😎 and very good looking man

John Neal the Best Manager Wrexham ever had. Yet another Brilliant Podcast
And Sunderland fan was John NE lad
I'm prepared to say he is my favourite Chelsea manager to this day. They'd be no Chelsea now if it wasn't for John Neal. Bought Nevin , Dixon, Speedie, Spackman, for next to nothing.
would love you boys to try and get Kris Commons on
George Reynolds certainly was an interesting person...Get Hodgy back for a part 2...just to talk about George Reynolds
Has Browny cleaned his gaff yet?
Please get a guest on that we've heard of. Tiger Woods, Zinedine Zidane, Susan Boyle. Someone famous please.

I don't even think the boys were convinced by his stories....
Liverpool wouldn’t have been in the fa cup in November, 3rd round of the fa cup is always in January

More Darlo stories
Corruption always off the charts in the bread and circus game. No different now with City and the league is it.
What a bore.. I take that back.. really enjoyed it..
Where abouts in South Africa was Bob Paisley from? Strangest Bishop Auckland accent ever according to Hodgy 🤦🏻♂️😂
As an 11 year old kid and Sunderland daft I wrote to Lawrie mac and got a tour of roker. Met Davie Hodgson in the changing room and he was so nice to me, 40 odd years ago but never forget it.
Also worked for George Reynolds and can testify that man was batshit crazy.
Lawrie Mac……….hero to us Geordies 🏁😃😂
Hes right. You want to play football. Who wants to sit on the sidelines
I really thought louis walsh had turned up to sign you 3 up for the next breakthrough boyband!😂
Hodgy was charismatic Darlington FC in his blood love to run into hodgey now and again at the matches ❤
“What would get me to join Liverpool/ Why would I leave Boro for Liverpool?” Er, medals?
That’s said, what a cracking bloke.
Try get Andy carrol on
Get him back on
Hodgy giz a wave Hodgy hodgy giz a wave .Super super Baz super super Baz super super Baz super Barry Conlon . Hope Hodgy is well loved that man at darlo
Nice fella but if he is bring honest, the reason he failed at Liverpool was because he wasn't good enough.
That's it.
Being *
Of course there isn't. He was just trying to paint a different picture I.e. ahead of rushy at one point. He wasn't.
To be fair, that wasn't how I interpreted it but I suspect, you are right on that.
I remember him playing. I watched him. He wasn't very good at all. I was just adding some first hand context to this idea that he was somehow hard done to. feel sorry got him supporting Sunderland
Bs bs bs some non bs..more bs.
Could have been better if kept this more about footballers and his game experience rather than silly non funny stories.
What a PoS Lawrie is
