Me and my mate met an American in a pub in Wolverhampton after a Wolves v Sunderland match. He had no idea about football and worked in aviation and was just there for work. He came round a few bars with us and by the end of the night we had taught him about SAFC. At the end of the night we left him and we shouted back at him fom 200 yards away, Lee Howey, Lee Howey, Lee Howey and he replied with the correct response. That bloke has never been to a Sunderland game in his life and never will.
What a legend ... Have subscribed !!! Fell asleep during my under the cosh marathon last night ... getting put on sleep timer tonight ... my dreams haunted by lee howey lee howey and the manscaping ffs boys ... seemed to a lot of shitting n boots. Huge respect. Loads of true ballers on too.
My claim to fame is having lees bank details as a friend and family on my bank. I sent him the money to pre order his book, but had some issues printing so sent me money back, then when he got it all sorted sent me free book and loads of signed stuff so we agreed so send the money I would of used to a charity. Top bloke, lived the dream of playing for the club of ya heart.
Tremendous watch re the ups and downs of a footballer living his dream for his boyhood club -we can all relate to that . Well done under the cosh If I ever bump into him ( unlikely ) might whistle his “ tune “!
Long time watcher, was listening from pretty much the start (think it was about the fifth episode) and a former patreon subscriber during covid lockdowns as well. Didn't realise I wasn't subscribed but the prospect of a free football shirt made me double check and now I am. 👍
Finally subscribed on UA-cam, long time listener/viewer on Spotify/YT, big fan of the Ex Sunderland guests but i do listen to the others as well, keep up the good work lads and i would love to hear a Peter Reid one someday.
Subscribed, love the pod. Southampton fan so when the rare occasion theres an ex saint its a rare treat. But all are quality! Great chemistry, keep it up shaggers
Great listen. I'm a Burnley fan and remember being on Holiday in Devon when Stan sacked 4 or 5 players on Radio Lancashire. The Waddle season was a disaster bar staying up on the last game then Stan wanted his own players in. If you pull on the Claret and Blue you should be backed regardless though and nobody deserves dogs abuse.
Just with the recent death of Bobby Charlton, it would be interesting to get an episode who was of an older vintage of reasonable profile. Someone like Brian Kidd would be ideal as he's been involved in top level football across 7 decades in various capacities
Yas shud get gordan armstrong ask him about the kid who jumped on him after the chelsea game in 92 cup game at the fulwell end at end of the game ( that was me) hahaha / marco gabbiadini / keiron Brady / david rush / wud be good podcasts aswell
@@undrthecosh just seen your comment great 👍🏻 will it be put onto UA-cam pal trundle turned the tide at a struggling Swansea city side he was brilliant he was the David beckham of league 1 and 2 and the championship he’s loved down here in Swansea along with Gary Monk Leon Britton and Alan Tate even Roberto Martinez they were all top signing’s in league 2 under Brian Flynn Swansea nearly went out of the football league before they joined they were definitely the players who kicked Swansea on to get to the premier league and the football they played was amazing thanks for the reply keep up the great work awesome podcast 👍🏻❤️

Billy whitehurst any chance every guest you have on has mentioned him
Love to see Sacko on. Browny, make it happen!

Glen Little made the Ternent days sound funny, but you could always tell that Stan was a horrible little bully.
Great that , kind regards Lee, or should I say plug 😂 damian here ,

Get terry butcher on lads
Seems a top man. Not a billy bullshitter embeleshing everything. Calm sense of perspective.
Quality
One of me first games at Roker was a cup replay v Carlisle. Think Lee got a hat-trick. (Potentially a brace).
Was fucking hooked. FTM.
Can you get lee trundle on your show he is a Swansea city legend ❤
He’s on with us at a live show in Neath in February 23rd

Great episode, proper mad lad.
We'd have pissed the league and done well in prem for years if he hadn't of snapped Geoff Thomas that season.
Terry butcher legend…..lee who?.
Howey mate, it’s in the title and is mentioned a few times during the episode.
Super episode, ternent sounds a bit of pillock, horrid man
