- Hi everyone and welcome to the full length tutorial for the Free Spirit Peaked Cap. This hat feels so nostalgic to me and gives me great memories from my childhood as I owned something very similar. This pattern is a great way of using up some left-over yarn and creating a beautiful accessory for your wardrobe all year round. It uses aran/worsted weight yarn. Have fun crocheting your Free Spirit Peaked Cap!
The tutorial is in US terms and based on a head circumference of 55cm. It has a lot of stretch to it as the last few rounds are made up of ribbing.
You will need roughly 90g of aran/worsted weight yarn.
If you make one please come and find me on Instagram, Tiktok and Facebook. I absolutely love to see all of your creations! #freespiritpeakedcap - Навчання та стиль

I am relatively new to crochet and successfully made an amazing hat with the help of this tutorial and the printed pattern. I tried to read the printed instructions and figure them out myself, but was glad to have the video to check I had understood. I think my stitches have improved by the end. It wasn't very hard at all, so glad I decided to stretch myself. Thank you.
This is so amazing to hear! Well done! I'm so pleased that you go on ok and learned new stitches along the way 🙂❤️

At 1:06:04 give or take a few seconds you say half double crochet, but it's obvious that it's 3 double crochet. Sorry if I offended you. It's a great pattern. I am making 2 at once.❤

@@user-qj6hm3up5w I'm not sure, you're doing the ribbing section so it does bring it in more. Did match the gauge ok? 😊
Thanks again
You're welcome!
I think I need to make this hat to go with the rainbow 🌈 cardigan for my grand daughter once I'm finished making the other 2 cardigans.

Cute hat, & a great stash buster! I wish it were zoomed in a bit more, but otherwise a nice, clear tutorial!
Thank you. I actually worried that I was too close to the camera 😆
Just made this. I had to go down to a size 4 hook before I got the correct gauge.
Ty ‼️ ❤️
Your welcome!

I love this hat 😊. I have a guge amount of keft iver DK yarn would it work usung that? Maybe small enough for a child with DK? Xx
It could possibly work but I've not tried it myself as of yet so I can't give you a definite answer 😊❤️
Falo Português do Brasil..queria aprender a fazer essa linda blusa que estas usando, você tem o passo a passo...Lindo Boné 🧢..😊
I just love love love this beanie. I’m trying to prep a table for my first ever farmers market table (at 62) and I need this hat in my life. I’ll wear it and any inquiries for custom makes will be a huge seller I think. It will be ok to sell this right??? Thank you so much for sharing this.

More Tutorials Pleeeaaase 😊
I will definitely start recording once my kids go back to school in September! They've been off for the 6 weeks holiday! 🫣😆 I have 3 new tutorials that I plan to record ❤️
@@CraftandaCuppa sounds great!
Looking forward 😇
I love this pattern could you use double knit yarn x
If you did, it would come out smaller, possibly for a child. You can try double stranding it. There is a gauge for the pattern. After round 4 it should be 15cm ❤️
@@CraftandaCuppa perfect thank you I will defo try giving this go x
Love this and Love the Color and Pattern of the sweater you are wearing, can you share a link to that pattern of your sweater? Thank you for your instructional videos.🤩
God Bless!💞🙏🏽💞
Thank you so much! Yes its a hexagon cardi and here is the tutorial where I made this exact one...

@@CraftandaCuppa thank you, beautiful patterns you share.🤩
I made this and loved it, but i have a small head so trying to figure out how to get it smaller!!!!!!
Maybe go down half a hook size? 🤔❤️
@@CraftandaCuppa I will try that, much appreciated.....
Love this hat. Any thoughts on increasing circumference? I have friends with lots of hair and need something in the range of 60cms. Thanks.
My husbands head is 60cm. I havent tried it yet but its been on my mind about making him one in chunky yarn and a 7mm hook to see how it turns out. He did say if I could make it slighter bigger, he would definitely wear it. I've just not got round to it yet! 🙈
I thought about the 7mm hook too even with the worsted weight yarn. I’ll try that first to see how it goes. I really enjoy your tutorials. Putting the finishing touches on one of your hexagonal granny cardis. So much fun to make. My mom wants one now.
@@ginadavis918 aww thank you so much. Let me know how you get on with the 7mm 👍🏻🥰
I have lots of yarn but no Aran or Worsted, guess I have to collect yarn lol
Ahhh no!!!🙈😆
Hi ! Can I make this hat out of dk yarn how do I get it the same size as your hat thankyou so much ☺️
Hi if you made it in dk yarn it would come up too small. You could try doubling up the yarn and then checking the measurements. By round 4 it should measure 15cm. 😊
Thankyou very much ☺️❤️
I don't have a stash of aran. Do you think 2 strands dk be OK, 🧶
There is a part in the pattern where you measure a gauge, but I've currently forgotten which round it is on but it's all in the tutorial. I would check that measurement before completing the entire project. 🙂

I Love this but i dont know where i went wrong,my cap is too small cant fit🥲🥲🥲
Ah no! Did you check your gauge after round 4? The hat circumference is based on a head size of 55cm ❤️🥰
Thanks
Thank you so much for your generosity ❤
