** Thank you Mini O.V.W for holding the camera, you did a great job - Навчання та стиль
I found this tutorial 7 years ago and made about 60 caps in 2016 that helped me get out of a hard time $, thank God now I'm doing great and I'm back to make one for my mom and grandma and I'm literally in tears as I watch this video, thank you for taking your time to make this tutorial, it is definitely the best one here!
This is the best tutorial for a BRIM! I have struggled with other videos with the brim. They are flat on the head, limpy, looking like a visor over your eyeballs and you have to look through the holes! That is not a brim hat however, this hat tutorial is perfect.. Here are some highlights of what OVM lady has said. 1. When doing your brim use a G hook! 2. When Doing a bring double your yarn if it is small to medium yarn. (I used a bulky yarn and it was fine with 1 strand but it had to have the G hook for sure. 3. The first row on top of the foundation row is done in the back loop. This forces the hat to tip upwards right off and when adding more rows. The easement of her brim on the sides is superb. It eases around and curves! There are no dividing breaks from the hat and the brim. They are one! I have done 3 brims now using her method. I still have to watch her as it is not memorized yet. I just had to rave on this tutorial brim!!! Thank you for sharing your time and talent with an old woman! You are amazing!
Thanks, by any chance did you strength the elastic when you applied it to the brim? Did you create the hat without the elastic?
Can you tell me the exact yarn you used?
I created mine without elastic. I’m a senior citizen returning to crochet after twenty years and I really enjoyed this tutorial. I used a “G” hook and an “F “ for the brim. 👍🏼😄
What?!?
Ooh I loved the hat and the scripture. BLESSINGS to YOU.
HI MY NAME IS BRENDA. I AM DEAF AND I WOULD LIKE FOR YOU TO ADD ON THE CLOSE CAPTION ON IT. I CANT HEAR WHAT YOU SAID ON THE VIDEO. I LOVE EVERY VIDEO WHAT YOU MAKE ON THE CROCHETS BUT SAD THAT THERE IS NO CLOSE CAPTIONS FOR DEAF. SO WILL YOU PLEASE PUT ON CLOSE CAPTIONS FOR ME? I WILL BE HAPPY. :)) THANK YOU, BRENDA
Brenda, good idea. I have watched a few videos that have CC which helps. I am deaf as well so I try my best to watch and read lips as I go along.
*****
HI ANGEL, I CANT READ LIPS BECAUSE IT READ TOO FAST FOR ME. I CANT LOOK AT BOTH OF THEM HAND WORK AND MOUTH AT SAME TIME. I AM SORRY AND THAT IS WHY I RATHER HAVE CLOSE CAPTION ON THAT WOULD BE EASY FOR ME. :) THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTAND, HAVE WONDERFUL DAY. BRENDA
brenda russell , I totally agree with you 100%. Like this video I just watch how she does it and learn that way until there is CC.
I'm Mother Deaf and my daughter hearing please write patterns
Heyyyy!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this hat...did you ever make the written pattern???
This is absolutely the best brim tutorial I’ve come across. Love the whole hat. Gonna make one.
Is there a written pattern for this? This is my FAVORITE brim tutorial and actually wrote the instructions down once, but now I can't find them. Would love a pattern so I don't have to watch the video 10 times a week haha.
You can just write it as you go🤷🏼♀️
OVW, I found your video an hour ago, and guess what, I just finished the hat with the brim you offered in your tutorial. Awesome tutorial, I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks !!!
Awesome thank you so much for following along. 👍
I really want to thank you for such a good demonstration for this beautiful hat. I have found my perfect hat finally. I also want to thank your daughter for having the patients to stay focused for us all to learn from her mom. Thank you both.
Instructions are clear, without lagging, I followed very well. This help me to pickup a little speed. Thank you.
Hi that’s good to hear 👍
Your instructions were GREAT!. I've put this on my list to make for Cancer patients. THANKS!
FANTASTIC VIDEO!! You did an incredible job explaining everything. I watched a different video on making a similar hat but yours was much easier to understand. I'm a knitter trying to learn to crochet and I think I can even make this hat after watching your tutorial! :) I can't wait to try this hat!!!! THANK YOU!! :)
I really enjoyed your video class. Many kisses from Brazil.
So pretty and easy to followed this tutorial
I’m new and I tried every brim video I could find and it never looked right… until I found your video… thank you, I finally can say I now know how to make a brim, great work, much appreciation!!! ❤️
Hi Thats awesome! Glad I could help!
Thank you so much for this post.. I was able to actually make this hat for a baby!! I love your video's they are easy to follow!
Marcelle, now it all is making sense.Your tutorial demonstrates why I have been unable in the past to accomplish the result I needed in a brim hat. Without your detailed visual aid, I would continue to be in the dark. Now that I understand the construction required for the necessary brim effect, I can make a brim for any hat design. I am happily dancing around the house. Yeh! Thank you, oh onevirtuouswoman and beyond.
❤ Just wanted to let you know you do a really good job in crocheting . It Would be nice if people can come together and in the sense like . If you are crocheting and being connected together. Like crocheting in how you show. The life line of the yarn that makes the wonderful thing that people can share when they put their mind into doing . In showing in the things they can do.🧶.
I have had such a hard time making the brim. Yours is the first pattern that worked! Thank you! God bless.
Hey plzzz.. brim tutorial can you write and send from round 5??
Hi. You did a wonderful job. This project is on my list.
so i completed my very first hat ever. took me 3 days to do this one. think im gonna make another.
Message from across the Pond. This is an exceptional! tutorial. Well done and thank you.
After many brim videos I must say, this was the best. Thank you so much for making it not so hard. Stay blessed! 😁😘
Thanks so much for sharing. Making a lot of hats lately, and wanted to try something different and came up to your youtube channel. And just finished this hat. In dark purple with black. And a black brim.
Just love it. Fortunately I had a whole role of jewelry making elastics, so I can use that up for this project.
Thanks again!
Just used this video to show & teach a 12-year old. She loves it and have made 3 so far!
🙂

That hat is adorable. Can't wait to make one for my daughter and myself. We love hats :) thanks and you did a great job.
Do you have pattern for baseball cap. I want to make the visor/brimmer but have not been able to find one. Let me know if you have the pattern for the visor/brimmer I can buy from you
awesome happy crocheting, thank you for following along, yes mini O.V.W did a great job
question for anyone: In row 9, did you go into the next stitch for the first single or did you crochet in the chain one as she did in the previous rows. In row 10, she started the first single into the chain one. Is row 9 just an error.
Thanks for the video:) I'm a beginner and I "accidentally" made one for my son, I tried to make a regular hat, and it ended up having a brim and turned out to be a super cute baseball hat. But then others loved it and wanted a baseball cap like his, and I couldn't for the life of me remember how I did the brim lol. So much thanks for this video! God bless you:)
Thank you so much. Love the hat, the tutorial was excellent. Your daughter did a fantastic job with the camera. I wouldn't change a thing. It was clear and the directions were spot on. Thank your daughter for me! I will be watching more of your tutorials!
hello, I follow all the directions & somehow my hat is not curvy @ row 10 &11. I did this stitch last week with no problem & somehow I ain't doing a very gud job now. It looks like lumpy.
Hello there did she ever get back to you about the lack of curve?
Just found your channel. Great tutorial, awesome cap!!! Thank you very much. 🙏👍☺
you make the best brim ever, so neat and clean, thanks
New subscriber...HALLELUYAH, PRAISE YAH!!!
This is the first time I’ve ever commented on a tutorial video. I’ve tried at least 5 brim tutorials and this one is the absolute best...I added this brim to a Rasta tam/beanie and it turned out fabulous
I LOVE YOU AND YOUR DAUGHTER!!!! You have made my day.... thank you for your sweet and kind disposition and your clear and patient instructions. I have made over 2,500 chemo hats and still am learning something new from you!! Always looking for something WONDERFUL for my precious folks-in-need. Your relationship with your daughter is a tender and beautiful thing... you both make my heart feel tender ♥ Your hat is beautiful - I am going to work on one tonight! Just in time for Easter!! It will look SO CUTE w/a little button or tiny crochet' flower placed on the hat, where it joins to the brim :) The girls love flowers! And the fellows seem to like the buttons!! God bless you both.......
Love it!!! just finish my first hat :) will send a pic.
I'm going into my Christmas gift hats. Love your brim style.. I make loads of hats and always come back to you for the BRIM and a scripture !! The one you read, has always been my favorite.
Do you have written pattern, I'd like to know how stitches per round.
I love your video but I need a written pattern.
Love this pattern!!! Every year I make 2-3 for myself to match new jackets and sometimes I make scarves or shawls to match.
All you said was use your H hook. Okay wat is the # for the H hook?? Alot oh these hooks don't have Letters on them so wats the number we should use
Hi my apologies a H hook is. 5.0 mm
Love This! Always wondered how to make a stiff rim on a hat. TENSION, SMALLER HOOK, DOUBLE YARN! Thanks so much!

Hi. Brand new to your channel, and I love it. The hat is so cute. You’re a really great teacher. So easy to follow. I did one for one of my grandsons who is 3, in Black & White, so soft yarn.

Great Job!! Thank you for patiently showing us.
My pleasure!
I really enjoyed making a hat with your tutorial !! In fact, I have made 5 hats like this in all ! Thank you for posting a video for such a fantastic project !
I made the hat in black . Your instructions were very helpful to me. I really loved the double strands for the brim. It is very stiff. I made this for some one, now I'm jealous and will make me one too.☺☺☺☺
Love your tutorial and love your hat!!!! But mine didn't turn out nothing like yours!! 😂😂😂😂😂 but I'm going to keep trying!! Thank you very much for sharing and your time!!
Me encantó el proyecto y somos muchos de mi familia que quieren realizarlo solo que entenderíamos en Español
Love your tutorial. Very clear, not fast at all. And may God continue to bless your talent. Thank you.
Is the elastic necessary or can I leave it out? And also, for row 9, you didn't chain one. Are you suppose to chain one or is it unnecessary for that row?
Great job and I am going to try this. I have been making beanies, tams and bucket hats so this is a nice addition.
You're a great teacher. Thank you for this tutorial. God bless
I really enjoyed your tutorial n your camera crew did an awesome job ... thank you

I am so happy I found this video! I am a beginner who can't read a pattern yet and I was able to follow along with your video and make my first adult hat. Thank you for sharing:)
The camera may have wobbled a bit, but you explain this so well, I was able to follow along just fine. Thank you both for this tutorial.
Onevirtuouswomen, AWESOME! Loving the brim hat. I can't wait to start. Bless you & thank you!😁
Fine ☺️
Today I'll be making my fourth hat with your video. My family members keep on requesting. Thanks so much for sharing, love it.
Its beautiful I Liked very Much, and Is Much Easier then other ones i been seeing. The problem some tims the video stops and other things comes In the same chanel like the Instagram. I saved I hope I Can Find this Cap again I want to make one❤❤❤
I like your video
Can you tell me how many stitches are in each row?
I am using a 5.5/ I hook but mines keep rippling, I don't know what I am doing wrong?
Mine did a little ripples at first. You have to keep it very very tight, evenly tight.
Melissa men was doing the same thing I restarted it Ike 5 times to find out I was somehow adding a extra stitch. Just remember around the ring is 10 stitches and row 2 is 20 stitches so you as 10 more stitches on each row after
Hello, I tried to understand how to make a raffia hat and malgrés explanations of my book, my work was not good ... I found your tutorial, and "there was light .." I'm French and passionate about knitting is anti-stress for me, I have a question, however, when I switch over, so I do a double mesh, and then mesh for casting, or is t 'it? the first mesh in the first or in the air tight mesh? I do not understand your language so I can observe them ... thank you
your hat came out real pretty. I was following you from the begining and i usually.do good. but this time I did it twice and did not curve into a hat. it was just a full circle HAHA. will try again. what kind of elastic did you use and how long and can it be done without it? can you do a toddler one? would like to follow you with that also.It is hard to find a toddler hat with brim.THANK YOU! and GOD BLESS!
Hi Marcelle, Thanks ever so for this tut...been dying to try it...however have run into a snag....by row four i seem to have a floppy pancake that looks nothing like what i see on screen...any ideas? I've been following your tuts ok so can't see where I'm going wrong.
I've only been crocheting since March this year (actually only a few days b4 this vid went out) and this will be by 2nd big project...can you help? Thanks ever so
Hi ... I was interested in finding out more about your group and how to join and what is required to join or be part of the group. I was already subscribed to your channel, and then I found off the hook and was glad to find you were the founder. So, if you could let me know that would be great. I am an artist but I crochet and knit - but mostly crochet. Thanks, look forward to hearing from you and love your videos :)
I love your hat w/ brim, hope I can follow your pattern will let you know. ❤❤MsdeewantstoknowCrochet🧶🧵✂️🧷
I am am new to crochet and always have trouble forming my hats. What is the purpose of creating single corchet rows at certain points of forming the hat. Is this preventing the hat from growing too big. At what intervals should you insert single corchet rows. Love your video as I am really learning and love it!
I just did your hat! It's crazy cute. My only problem was the ends of the brim (where you HDC, slip st turn and chain for the next row), is now the front of my brim buckles at the sides? I dunno what I did. :( But I love it...even if it didn't turn out straight in the front like urs!! LOL Thanks. oh, and i just subscribed
I don’t know which hook I’m gonna use because in Sweden we only have 2.00 or 2.50 or 3.00 or 3.50 or 4.00 mm and so on. So which of the hooks should I use. So grateful for your help. A G size hook is in Sweden 4.00mm
Love the tutorial. I followed your instructions and mine come out just as cute. Wearing it tomorow!
I had the same problem but there's one chain before you come to next row of the hat and I hat to sip it in order to slip stich into the next row so it would form the hat. I'm not sure if that makes sense or works out but hope it helps.
HELLO MY SISTER IN CHRIST.......I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I CAN USE THE HALF DOUBLE CROCHET WITH THIS CAP. PLEASE CONTINUE WITH YOUR VIDEO'S, I AM LEARNING SO MUCH FROM YOU! GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!!
hay hun i would like to make one of these they are great but have a slite problem, you are useing lettered croche hook where mine are numbered,do you happen to know what they are in numbers that you are useing?
