I can see the idea of the last game but why the hell do small indie studios think it's a great idea to make an alleged "mmo" out of it if they don't have the capacity
I feel like I need to say, never touched the game... but you can see in the hud that you are snapping your own fishing line in spellfarers. Not that it really matters, without alot of work nobody going to be catching fish in that game. But yeah you can see the line tension bar going to red before you snap it every time.
The dreamscape aggro seems the most realistic. The idea that mobs will just give up when you run a bit then not recognize you next time they see you is less realistic. 😂
IF the game SpellFarers seems like a goood idea for an MMO, there is a game called Palia that's much the same.. build up a house, farm, socialize, hang out, gather, craft, chill free to play MMMO
Spellfarers looks like an update of that sixties tv show The Prisoner, you can never leave the village and everyone & everything in it is there to drive you insane from boredom.
If you want a truly crazy character creation screen, try the Star Trek Online mmo. It literally let's you create you own Alien race with almost infinite possibilities. Try it just for the characters creation for fun haha
I once had a bad dream that I was playing some MMO and accidentally entered a high-level undead zone. It was an uncomfortable experience as I was constantly like "I've got to get out of here". Dreamscape Dimensions helped me relive those memories.
I think they put these tutorials in as a storyboard for a potential investor then decide to use it as a checklist of things to program & eventually leave it because that was the only contribution that their sister made and she will be upset if they take it out, (and she will demand they pay her back for her investment).
2:30 Games have always done this. "This works. It's popular. Someone likes it." So they all do it. It's not like we didn't have this in the 90s, 2000s, and 2010s. (The mentality. Not the creator.) 6:20 You are right. This is basically Studio 3 at Square Enix. No real gameplay nor challenge. But "we want you to see the next cutscene". 8:50 And this is one of the reasons why a lot of people copy other games' character creators. 9:20 The fact that you had to ask proves that you're not a fantasy guy.
I love, how basically noone seems to notice, that DreamScape uses the Skyrim Compass in their Trailer and earlier versions of the game. Not just copying, straight up the exact same one, ripped directly out of Skyrim
How is Destiny not an MMO? It has all the aspects of it. Open world with other people, dungeons, town with other people, raids, PvP, questing, loot, achievement grinding, cosmetic grinding, etc. It’s an MMO Looter Shooter.
Hey Waydot, your commentary on these MMOs is very entertaining and nice to have in the background. The MMOs with no players series was the best. There is a Roblox game called 'The Mystic Land 2' that is advertised to be an MMORPG experience made in 2012. I would love to see what you have to say about such a relic, especially a Roblox crafted experience.
Waydot! I love your stuff! Please consider some longer form content! Like 2 hours + I’d love to rewatch it for background noise while sleeping. Do you upload your stream VODS to UA-cam????
The first game is actually a common tactic for some mobile games and it's actually quite an easy explanation as to why some people might play such a game. It comes down to idle game mentality, Now don't get me wrong, I love a good idle game but for super addicts out there, that type of gameplay could easily hook them.
Finn is a cats name playing on the fact he is a fisherman. Calling my cat kevin is objectively hilarious. You can cringe and stinge and curl and swirl But your wrong.
I noticed when playing T&L and BDO sometimes the Voice Narrator or the Voice actors are saying something different from the text in the screen 😂. I think it’s translating it from maybe the KR version but the voice actor/Narrator is pretty much reading a simplified version in our language or something. Or maybe the text translation is different from the script itself they got when it’s translated into English. There were a few others I noticed this in as well just can’t remember exactly which ones as it has been awhile. The most recent ones I noticed this in were the 2 mentioned above just like the 1st game translation is alil different from Voice Actors.
the first game's review about the boss one shotting you or whatever , I downloaded the game to try and find the boss and I guess they removed it or something ? never found it
Ah, yes, I love autoplay mmos. I love it when the best way to play the game is to not play it at all. And some people playing them are like 'But wait until the endgame levels when you get to pvp, that is where the real fun is.' Yeah, because I want to spend my days sitting on my couch, watching an overglorified cutscene with the hope that maybe one day I can actually play the game and have fun doing so. Like, there are some mmos that so suffer from having that. Awesome looking combat abilities and all that, you just cant wait to play...Only to find out that the npcs are the most braindead things imaginable and the combat itself is mindbogingly boring, just spamming a button and nothing more. Because the devs didnt consider that someone would actually play their game instead of just clicking the quest window once in a while.
Hey @Waydot have you ever tried Silkroad Online? One of the biggest MMO's in early 2000's, Had huge following for a good amount of time still played today!
I do not know if you have ever covered it on this channel, but I recall playing an MMO on Steam about five years ago called "Gran Skrea Online", and at the time I really enjoyed it, and thought it had some unique features. It also actually have quite a few players at the time, but I think these days it is completely dead. Anyhow, thought I would point it out in case you had not checked it out before.
For game number 1, all the features there are standard for mobile mmo's. For game number 2, halflings have big and hairy feet, depending on the type of halfling anyway.
2:47 The most obnoxiously large two-handed sword you've ever seen. You might need to play Monster Hunter. You'd get a laugh and you might rethink that real quick.
the only auto farming option I accepted is Esper from Jade Dinasty. Played it a lot back then in 2012-2013 in private server(xtreme jade, then monkey dinasty) since there's no way I'll capture those another 150 level till 300 in original server. even in those server, late levelup is a little bich if you need to advance more into the story (yeah, powerlevel ftw in the red mob area 😂). the esper is really helpful when you want to leave to work and get some level done, just leave it there and come back later (my senior in working, he introduce me to this game before, played it too, show me how to open in windowed and use screen hide app so the game doesn't crash while it running in the background and keep online, a little peek while working, etc (good stuff back then 😂). jade dinasty is the same game created by developer of perfect world.
Not sure if you've touched on this game already, but you should give Istaria a go, you can play as a dragon c: you'll want to make a character on the Chaos shard(server) though to interact with the most people!
You know there are some games where Open world grinding is so bad that sometimes I wish they had an Auto battle button you can toggle on and off 😂. You know like the battle isn’t just and auto fight , you can actually go kill monsters yourself manually but when a game requires you as a new player to grind 10,000 hours to get the gear to be relevant in PvP/End game PvE, is super fun but hard to play because of the 1000s of hours required to be relevant that’s when I wish there’s an auto combat button you could toggle on and let your toon afk for a bit 😂.
well. In my experience fishing in various games and considering myself quite knowledgeable(not really) in the matter. I would say you couldn`t catch another fish because when the bar is red, you have to release the buttons because the line is through too much tension and you could do that in the tutorial because is the tutorial. But idk that because the game didn`t told you that, but at the same time, is a bad MMO, so what am I expecting anyway...
The reviews for Spellfarers seem accurate. The potential for a nice cozy farming sim, but with other people, is there. So if that's your thing, I get the appeal. Kind of reminds me of Dreamlight Valley but missing 98% of the content of DV
I really don't understand why they keep making these games sooo easy. Do they not remember classic wow? Shit was awesome, and it actually required soem thought to stay alive. Not just that, but gear, potions, and sometimes careful pulls so you don't pull a mob and die. These new mmos are so damn easy the character barely takes damage from enemies. How boring and uninteresting. Like wtf are they thinking??
i have a theory about these mmos with the people who post WTS and WTB on games that play themselves and appear dead. My theory is that these are actually drug dealers or cartel people selling drugs or humans/children as a means to do transactions without the law knowing,
Waydot playing more bad MMO's, hell yeah
I can see the idea of the last game but why the hell do small indie studios think it's a great idea to make an alleged "mmo" out of it if they don't have the capacity
Spellfarers looks like it has potential actually, just needs a LOT of polish and more stuff added to the game
Archeage did the housing system amazingly. I still talk to my old neighbor.
I feel like I need to say, never touched the game... but you can see in the hud that you are snapping your own fishing line in spellfarers. Not that it really matters, without alot of work nobody going to be catching fish in that game. But yeah you can see the line tension bar going to red before you snap it every time.
Oh…. That could certainly be what was happening 🤫
The dreamscape aggro seems the most realistic. The idea that mobs will just give up when you run a bit then not recognize you next time they see you is less realistic. 😂
The moonwalking cat at 23:55
6:30 its like a fake mobile game ad but you actually run it on your pc lmao
IF the game SpellFarers seems like a goood idea for an MMO, there is a game called Palia that's much the same.. build up a house, farm, socialize, hang out, gather, craft, chill free to play MMMO
Slightly gamified chatroom. Feels like it's missing reasons to socialize. Few minigames and a job system seem like things the game is missing.
the asmongold joke lmao
Waydot "This is the biggest most girthiest sword i have ever seen" Also Waydot "I now have a paddle where is my cool sword'
“I authoritatively strutted my a** to town” I IMMEDIATELY fell out 🤣🤣🤣 please keep doing reviews of bad MMOs and keep the commentary coming lol
Spellfarers looks like an update of that sixties tv show The Prisoner, you can never leave the village and everyone & everything in it is there to drive you insane from boredom.
19:40 looks like pale Gandhi strutting to nuke a civilization.
If you want a truly crazy character creation screen, try the Star Trek Online mmo. It literally let's you create you own Alien race with almost infinite possibilities. Try it just for the characters creation for fun haha
* reviews Starfield *
* discovers it's so bad that it's just bad *
It was weird seeing the first 2 after recalling josh strife Hayes' videos on them during the worst mmo series a few yrs back lol.
I once had a bad dream that I was playing some MMO and accidentally entered a high-level undead zone. It was an uncomfortable experience as I was constantly like "I've got to get out of here".
Dreamscape Dimensions helped me relive those memories.

Why does your Halfling character look so much like Hugh Grant’s Oompa Loompa from Wonka?
2:30 Games have always done this. "This works. It's popular. Someone likes it." So they all do it. It's not like we didn't have this in the 90s, 2000s, and 2010s. (The mentality. Not the creator.)

The fact destiny is on the mmo page is a crime
How is Destiny not an MMO? It has all the aspects of it. Open world with other people, dungeons, town with other people, raids, PvP, questing, loot, achievement grinding, cosmetic grinding, etc.
It’s an MMO Looter Shooter.

that walk spellfares you have to create a character called 'Karen' whose purpose is going around moaning about things that offend her
The first game is actually a common tactic for some mobile games and it's actually quite an easy explanation as to why some people might play such a game. It comes down to idle game mentality, Now don't get me wrong, I love a good idle game but for super addicts out there, that type of gameplay could easily hook them.
Perfect World falls in this category for me. It's god fucking awful but in a way that feels pure and fun
"I think its funny to give cats normal human names" into "The fisherman's name is Fin, isnt that quirky... and fun" made me squint
Finn is a cats name playing on the fact he is a fisherman. Calling my cat kevin is objectively hilarious.
You can cringe and stinge and curl and swirl
But your wrong.

18:40 "I'm currently in my happy place" He said, HAPPILY.
Imagine WOW gives you 5 quests and makes you max level right away 😭
Rebirth online plays exactly how bdo did when I found it on the App Store some years ago. It was literally just a full auto game/auto questing
My cat is called Kevin, everyone loves him, get yourself a Kevin
I have a theory as to why you could only catch one fish in the last game. The bait is consumable and it's one fish per bait. Seems realistic.
That could very well be the case, tbh I don't quite remember maybe ill log in and check lol
Does nobody else notice that "Rebirth Online" just uses the exact same "reworked" mouse cursor as League of Legends?
you can entirely turn off automatic modes in the Rebirth Online settings
Bro, you have to try Eternal Kindom Battle Peak if you ever have a part 2 of this.
the first game's review about the boss one shotting you or whatever , I downloaded the game to try and find the boss and I guess they removed it or something ? never found it
When you realize that the temperature is in Celsius... 10:36
💀💀💀 80 celsius that place is burning in flames
Ah, yes, I love autoplay mmos. I love it when the best way to play the game is to not play it at all.

spellfarers with some polish could be something to keep an eye out on.
You should check Requiem Bloodymare. I heard about this game like... 10 years ago? I dunno if it's still alive, so perfect for your video.
Hey @Waydot have you ever tried Silkroad Online? One of the biggest MMO's in early 2000's, Had huge following for a good amount of time still played today!

Great video series! :D enjoy these a lot!
3:33 you're telling me they have play time rewards of up to 15 HOURS?
Dreamscape Dimension part sent me on my knees. Couldn't stop laughing at that ridiculous character!
I’d love to see you check out Scions of Fate lol
Spellfares? I thought that was an earlier version of Palia when I saw the footage lol
Really cool channel of yours. I subscribed❤
For game number 1, all the features there are standard for mobile mmo's. For game number 2, halflings have big and hairy feet, depending on the type of halfling anyway.
Ironically I once had a cat named Kevin. 😂
2:47 The most obnoxiously large two-handed sword you've ever seen. You might need to play Monster Hunter. You'd get a laugh and you might rethink that real quick.
The TikTok of MMOs... That really apples to quite a lot. I like that. Well, the saying not the fact.
Idk if it was a joke but Halflings are hobbits, the big and hairy feets are normal
"Your average third grade teacher in the year 2024" 😂
Average 3rd grade teacher in 2024 hahahah
If you've not seen it, check out Josh Strife Hayes review of Dreamscapes
Hey waydots you plan to play group ironman mode on rs3 when it comes out?
Probably not my man, I'm not too interested in RS3 these days unfortunately, and necromancy took a lot of the fun out of Ironman for me. Sorry!

jade dinasty is the same game created by developer of perfect world.
I found my cat familiar behind a dumpster at a Popeyes but this way works as well
The second game's character creation is so scuffed, lmao. 😂
Not sure if you've touched on this game already, but you should give Istaria a go, you can play as a dragon c: you'll want to make a character on the Chaos shard(server) though to interact with the most people!
8:15 That same review message made it into JSH's video.

please tell me im not the only one who thought Oompa Loompa for the dreamscape dimensions character
Really enjoying your content!
Damn i laughed so hard when u created this charaters! Hope You will someday stream some of those games or new ones. 👍🏻💯😂
well. In my experience fishing in various games and considering myself quite knowledgeable(not really) in the matter. I would say you couldn`t catch another fish because when the bar is red, you have to release the buttons because the line is through too much tension and you could do that in the tutorial because is the tutorial. But idk that because the game didn`t told you that, but at the same time, is a bad MMO, so what am I expecting anyway...
i wanna see youre opinion and reaction to Dino Storm mmo game
first MMO bro just discovered mobile gaming. It is literally every mobile mmo like this
24:33 Osu players would thrive here
Rebirth online you killed me 😂😂😂😂😂
10:44 80C? Everyone in that town is dead.
The reviews for Spellfarers seem accurate. The potential for a nice cozy farming sim, but with other people, is there. So if that's your thing, I get the appeal. Kind of reminds me of Dreamlight Valley but missing 98% of the content of DV
rebirth is what throne and liberty ALMOST was
Hey Waydot! Ever played Wurm online?
Dude, just tell me HOW IT"S POSSIBLE that you didn't watch LoTR movies???
Guys, please like this so he would see the comment
Anyone catch the osrs theme at the end? Great stuff lol
My cat is named Eric....he was a cat we were fostering when he had gotten neutered....and welp he kinda chose me.
Where's the instakill boss in the first one tho? lmao
You should check out Project Visitor.
I really don't understand why they keep making these games sooo easy. Do they not remember classic wow? Shit was awesome, and it actually required soem thought to stay alive. Another fun video to watch thanks Waydot!👌
If it's sliders you want, you should try Star Trek Online. The game's got sliders for days.
i have a theory about these mmos with the people who post WTS and WTB on games that play themselves and appear dead. My theory is that these are actually drug dealers or cartel people selling drugs or humans/children as a means to do transactions without the law knowing,
Im such a fan of your videos!
"Average 3rd grade teacher". 🤣
Rebirth Online and Throne and Liberty have many similarities
u just made an oompa loompa, and you probably didnt realise it XD
An average 3rd grade teacher now looks like Gandhi? 🤣
I love how you say "girth". ;)
I like your humor here! You got a sub out of me.
After catching 100 fish.. U can get any women u want.. 🤣😭 (bad joke)
That was awful but I still appreciate it.
Want an MMO so bad it's bad, ESO lmao. Ship is sinking 😂
18:43 you need to play a game called Chimeraland
why do you sound like falcon from gameranks
I… uhh… i…
I am falcon
A sacrifice for the algorithm
moonwalk to assert dominance xdddd
