- Still a bunch of minor problems, but nothing major went wrong, except the skip on level 5. Using some new skips on levels 4 (Thanks, someone who messaged me on UA-cam years ago. Sorry, I don't remember who and UA-cam deleted the message.), 9 (thanks, Zandra), and 11 (Thanks, Daodan DLL creators for enabling viewing of trigger volumes - and making the game run on modern versions of Windows!). Hard Difficulty, as usual. Played with characterawareness, cooldowntimer, projaware, and wpfadetime all set to false in daodan.ini to match the original gameplay, which is generally advantageous.

I’ve been so impressed with the vast levels of this game, large chunks of which were never even used. Its so much fun to glitch your way out of the central area and explore the maps, thinking what could have been. And the atmospheric music - made exploration so creepy and mysterious when I was a kid, especially in the atmospheric processor exterior level. Anyways, awesome speedrun, happy to see such a recent run. But dang, the killing-Griffin end fight aint as fun as the mosh pit end fight if you spare the dude.
The SektorZ exploring the airport hangars is my favorite. it's depressing as hell seeing all the dead people halfway through
this game is a masterpiece
I love it when antagonists have such a calm and Mello voice
The guy's been in a few other things, but I really feel he shines here as Muro. From what I've seen he plays a completely different character in Road to Perdition. I'd love to have seen more of him around.
Thanks for putting time and effort on this video. That game has been my childhood’s favorite and it brings a lot of memories! Amazing run

Fun Fact: The point in the training level where you watch the other person fight the training bots is not scripted so that means the person can die to the training bots.
Nostalgic.. loved playing this game as a child and this game had such a greath depth ,voiceovers , story ,chill moments and best combat systems at that time. One of my favorites till date..❤️

The fight against Muro at Hasegawa's Lab was the hardest part for me in this Game. Never imagined you can skip that part. Great job! I'm impressed with your accurate jumps.
I loved this game.
This game reminds me of my good old childhood I was around 10 years old when I first played it for it's time that was a masterpiece still has it on my PC works and plays fine :) love this game and holy shit this is some next level shit speedrun with skips love that!

Brilliant stuff. I love using cheats on the last level to change characters and play as the mutated Muro.
If you use the minime cheat and then the godzilla cheat, you'll get a normal sized mutant muro

I was really play hard this game until morning to the night. even i don't understood ENG.
Very nice. I'd suggest throwing enemies a lot more, simply because Konoko is immune to enemy attacks while doing the animation, which would save at least a few minutes (all the time getting beaten added up).
Also it might be my memory but I remember a lot more red enemies on Hard that die a lot... harder.
Thanks, I'm aware of how throws work. I do try to use them when I need to kill several enemies at once. Otherwise, I'm usually trying to get past the enemies or set up backbreakers or other quick kills. I don't think I spent as much time getting beaten up as you say, but I will probably try to get a better run.
I avoid a huge number of enemies, as well as skip large parts of some levels and avoid some trigger volumes that spawn enemies, so it's not surprising you remember more.
There is big jump which we have to make.. ... And i don't know anything about it ... Do u know that ??.. and how can i get this game ??

The wallhacks are strong with this one. Must say the jumps are pinpoint accurate though, and very effective fighting style though I would've liked to see more of it. Of course it's a speed run :)

What software did you use to record it btw? I tried using ShadowPlay but, it wouldn't even recognize Oni and my old videos are all from Fraps. :0
I'm using ShadowPlay. You have to enable desktop capture and it shows up under Base Profile (or Desktop in older versions). Good luck!

Sadly, I don't think there's a legal way to download the game data files. You could try looking for a disk on eBay. If you have the data files, you can get the updated game engine here: wiki.oni2.net/Oni_engine_patches_(Mac_Intel)
I managed to get game files, as well as game engine and AE7, but it wont launch the game, just pops up the oni icon in the dock and nothing happens... any ideas?

I haven't recorded any runs recently, but I practice now and then. I just figured out how the trigger to end the science prison works, so that might save a few seconds by killing fewer enemies.

I first thought it was russian too, but no. Unless rockstar games is located in Russia, I think the original is english. The russian VoiceOver is just good
@@paulieboiii4586 The point is that in the Russian voice acting the voices and emotions are chosen much better than in the original English. This is extremely rare, but here is just such a case.
