      That doesn't make it right. I watch Dave's show and follow his financial advice but I cringe every time he calls someone stupid. It's not okay and that is actually "classless". People get desensitized by people's celebrity status. It's wrong for Dave to do it just as it is for anyone else. He fires her for her sin but turns around and sins by cussing. His firing her and canceling her insurance is just as bad as her having pre marital sex. The hypocrisy is incredible. He's gonna lose this one.

      You're projecting your own bias into the situation. You weren't raised in "the church." You were raised by people, who are sinners. Your one congregation may not have been doing it right. But if you read the bible, all kinds of congregations had their own problems. This is nothing new. You're literally blaming God for the actions of people in your one congregation. Doesn't sound very compassionate to me, but it does sound hypocritical. I would invite you to try again. You can always go back to Christ as long as you draw breath. @@victortaylor7737

    • @44fastgun
      @44fastgun 3 роки тому +30

      @@EDUAROSOLAS You didn't hear me dismiss anything. The Old testament laws were valid and established to prepare for the Messiah, whose presence would begin a new covenant. The OT itself foretells the expiration of that dispensation (Jeremiah 31: 31-34, Ezekiel 36: 24-28). I do not see where God was any less Holy than He's always been. The only real OT atrocity I see is wicked human beings rebelling and despising their creator after He revealed to them their best path to eternal existence. If you are trying to suggest slavery as "God's huge mistake", then you would be the one guilty of dismissing the OT. The whole system reveals itself in Exodus to resemble what in modern times is called indentured servanthood; it was a voluntary, temporary path to land-ownership for the poor, with strict laws against abuse, and provisions for voluntary permanence due to many servants developing favorable relationships with their employer. Compare that to the secular welfare disaster of today that panders to poor folks until election day, gives little incentive to work,, then leaves them with a mere grocery check for the rest of their lives. I think you got the OT confused with the humanisticly-developed secular Euro-colonial slavery system, which was involuntary, abusive, and violated every precept that was the OT social structure.

      An agreement signed willingly doesn't mean it is a violation of Federal law but may mean you are surrendering certain rights you might have under Federal law otherwise. Many people sign away their right to find remedy in court by agreeing to an arbitration clause. Some things like worker classification are pretty tight in that even if the employee and employer agree the employee is an exempt salary or contractors position the law prevents that agreement. Morals clause, arbitration and such agreements are usually not so tight and the parties can enter into such agreements. Dave Ramsey can argue that the woman got fired for violating company policy that she agreed to. However, when there's a conflict between company policy vs. federal law, federal law always takes precedent. What will probably happen is the woman won't be hired back but may get some maternity leave compensation since federal law states that a woman has a right to it.
      I listen to Dave's show and went through Financial Peace University. I would say I'm "Davish" in re to what I learned in the class, and I have a lot of respect for him. But if Federal Law says you can't fire a person for being pregnant then he may wind up losing this lawsuit. On the other hand it is his business and should be able to run it his way.
He already lost an $80,000 lawsuit for firing someone because they're gay. He has this and one other lawsuit pending.
