ALL-Carbon Body '70 Dodge Charger - 950hp worth of Carbon Fiber Madness!

- What does it take to make a BIG muscle car like the '70 Dodge Charger handle? Try dropping around 900lbs. Getting that much weight loss ain't easy without ending up looking like ShartKart... so Speedkore turned to Boeing-levels of weight loss tech, by going all carbon on the body. Wild.

What chassis / car would you want to build in all carbon?
NA Miata
92 Fireturd
An wide bodied RX-7 FD with a three rotor would be godly.
porsche 928
That's really tough lol so many choices. Have to say a 65 stang or a s13 hatch with a vielside rx7 vibe
This car has been all over the internet and we finally can see under it and HOLY SH*T! All the details are just more crazy! 🔥🔥😏
The photos on the internet does this car no justice of how nice it actually is.
Right it's even more gorgeous than I thought
Joe Alex You can also watch Jay Leno’s video
@@marcd7332 Already did, and Donut Media, that's why i said it has been all over the internet
Omg...I would take this over a Bugatti w/ out hesitation. This is the most beautiful car on Hoonigan.
We would say as many man hours went into this build as a Bugatti! It looked killer in person
I agree with u on that
bugatti has no match-ever.pure technology
U can say that again.
There is a lot of cars id rather build that have a buggati
If i ever hit the lottery. I changed my mind from wanting a Lamborghini to this beauty of a beast carbon fiber Dodge💪🏽
get bof 🤷🏽♂️😈🙏🏽
I’m an aerospace parts engineer and prepreg is no joke each roll is like 10k alone this build is just incredible to see done much props to the engineers behind the development
HONESTLY.....The most detailed and beautiful car I have ever seen on your channel. Major props the this man and his team!
It's so bad ass to compare everyone's build qualities to see where they are similar, but also where they are different.
I like this one too but I'm a diesel guy and that black 6.0 powerstroke tore it up better than anything. And in my opinion that my fav vid yet!!!!
This build screams " Whats a budget "
No such thing. "Cars are meant to be driven" my friend.
Kyle Anderson There’s always a budget
RIGHT?!?!?!? I mean seriously! what would you guys is the amount into this car.
MY guess, , ,350k. Even then i think it might actually be more.
Zyian Rodriguez all the developement and man hours I bet it’s easily over a mil, and that’s without the costs of the machines they used to make it
around 400k+ according to their web site.
"It's okay to be craftsmen and tradesmen working with your hands", that's so true. 👊fist pump👊
👊what else is there.👊
Inventor right here typing, had to rewind that part a few times. We need less human robots and more creative minds.
unless you're a flag paid mechanic. dont get into that business.
what else is there ? Lots of specialized computer-controlled CAD/CAM software and CNC machinery. Most of the Chargers parts were designed in solid works and machined on a CNC mill, lathe, router, etc. or manufactured from CNC routered plugs and molds. Building OEM quality custom vehicles require a lot of specialized equipment and personal. $$$$$$$$$$$$$
What a cool concept of modernizating classic mucle with the best tech and yet not over doing it.
Saw this thing on Donut Media. Such a glorious build. Utterly incredible work

Super cars ain't got nothing on that engine bay. Best engine bay in a car ever
The craftsmanship in the engine bay puts this car on another level.
@@TheHoonigans it looks like God himself made this car with nothing but perfection in mind
Nope. All that modern cf, but an ancient tech 2v pushrod motor was used. Supercars use super engines, ie DOHC 4V VVT Turbo Flatplane.
@@nordic5490 it's still making 950 hp ffs, pushrod engines certainly have their place and in a fully custom muscle car, it's a perfect fit.

so clean really impressive
This is one of the most incredible builds we’ve had in the garage!
What an incredible build ...so many intricate build details that are off the charts and rewrite the rule book on custom muscle cars. Really well done!
This is literally too nice to drive
Boyan Stanchev Shakes head. "No it is not"
This car is meant to be driven, it's a piece of automotive art. Carbon Fiber Rembrandt.
I would say it’s not so much too nice to drive but too low to drive on an every day basis over varying road conditions. It should be higher or have an automatically adjustable lift system to raise and lower it.
You are absolutely right, an air suspension system would give it an awesome "stance". Big ups, and hope you get the car of your dreams.
Boyan Stanchev I’ll only partly agree with you but I would kinda like like to be experience that Horsepower.
I love the no compromise attitude.
Have you just looked at a car and fallen inlove? Everything has been thought out it's clean beautiful and modern and most importantly it Respects the Classic car that it is and then it elevates and makes it better,I have seen many cars driven many cars but this car lady's and Gentlemen would make the original builders and makers proud beautiful work.
damn that is a work of art...absolutely love to see high quality craftsmanship coupled with sheer power. beautiful
Leno’s garage, donut media, autotopia LA. Man talking about the exposure this car gets
The car deserves it!
We are not the biggest channel but stoked you checked our video out!
Hoonigan definitely 👍 art on wheels
AutotopiaLA love your channel! Keep up the good work sir
Well deserved,BUT, the price tag keeps most people at bay.
You could eat off the bottom of that thing... Super clean build👌
How are you going to eat off the bottom of a car?
That's because it's a show car it's a death trap being held together by a artisinal roll cage lmao
@Deez Nutzzz my mom's dead. Good one👌
This car is amazing , the detailing is unreal, great job.
I can honestly say I've never lusted after a Charger until seeing this work of art. Well done. Just incredible craftsmanship.
Koenigsegg has been using that process for a while now.
The fit and finish is simply jaw dropping. I have never seen a car as complete.
I watched this a year ago. Watched it again today just because this machine is a thing of Beauty 😍
The cleanest car I have never seen!!!....Epic!!!
I want to hear it whine while it destroys those massive tires!
they wouldn't dare, something could happen to it, it's just like a piece of paper that a "special" artist put paint on, it's worth too much to do anything but look at...therefore it's worth nothing except the way it makes you feel to look at.
I remember as a kid I would go with dad and look at these cars new on the showroom floor
they were so nice and that shifter is what sold me, boy how time go's by.
That is a work of art! Very nice work and congratulations to the team that worked on this project, you all nailed it!!!

@ If you don't want one, don't buy one.
I personally am a billion percent in favor of bringing back as much of the old world of muscle cars [especially MOPAR] as they can and will.
Nobody is going to make you get one, but you are not going to stop others from getting one if they want one.
Wow - Details matter the way the weave orientation matches with all the body parts is incredible. That is craftsmanship.
This thing is such an incredibly clean build it blows my mind. Re doing the entire body in carbon is above and beyond amazing.
-Do you want carbon fiber?
Dave Salvaggio: ALL
Everybody else complaining that Jay Leno was the first channel to DRIVE it, well, y'all just one-upped him by putting it on the lift so we can stare at the naughty bits. Something Jay USED to do.
Nah i disagree but u do u
What a beautiful machine. Much appreciated seeing this masterpiece such a masterful example of what car enthusiasm can be.
Best custom stuff finish and professional materials and the 3D printing... Real latest technology design, fabrication..in an old look... I'm soo blown away by the detail and professionalism of the whole thing... It's just not my style for looks, but the finish, it looks like it came from X-Men, CRAZY.. Such craftmanship!
Cleanest build I have ever seen🔥🔥
Over & Under, just amazing‼️💯
If I won the lottery, this would be one of my only purchases besides a house and a daily driver
I was thinking the same shit.
I'm an excellent driver.Call me win you win.
So you wouldn't drive it yourself?
@@matangox I would drive it, just not every day. Maybe as a weekend car
The most impressive custom car I've seen in a long time. There is a lot going on and a lot to look at but still clean and subtle. Great job!!
This is absolutely inexplicably beautiful. Just.. wow.. gorgeous and what a pain staking process on the carbon. Ide like to meet the artists that laid that up my, goodness what absolute mad lads
Thank you for asking the important question! "What does it weigh?" 1:50
He says about 3400 lbs but I've also found that he said 3200 lbs in an article... Kinda confused here
@@vi10k46 maybe it was modded a bit or it has some stuff in the trunk
@Gary Couch I think he said the wrong thing in the video, I'd go off of SpeedKores website
That’s a beautiful car. I feel like that may be understating it a little.
my vocabulary is too limited to explain how outrageously amazing this build is!
dream car for sure
That’s a one beautiful machine inside, outside and, engine and underbody!
And I love that it doesn’t have an exhaust noise
Me customizing a car in NFSU2: All carbon everything
Dave Salvaggio building a car in real life: All carbon everything
They should mass produce these🤤
The mass cannot afford this.
Probably only a quarter to half million a piece. Should sell by the... individual unit. And here it is!
Frankly, it wouldn't even be close to shocking if this car cost them $1M to build, with the sales of body panels down the road being the planned pay off. They have all of the carbon body panels available for these late '60s-early '70s Chargers, the late model LX chassis Challengers, as well as the S550 Mustang in GT350R form(that's a bad motherfucker!) - and, they cost a metric fuck ton too of course, but the quality is 100% second to none, this is the best off the shelf(or rather, made to order likely) that money can buy.
They also do custom builds too, and Chris Evans '68 Camaro they put together was doing the auto media circuit before this one.
Hope they have some major investment behind them with the cost of everything that they do, the RingBros, Rad Rides, Foose, Detroit Speed, SpeedKore, these are the bleeding edge of the cus car scene, no doubt. And, emissions keep the pre-muscle car stuff alive atop the show scene while the money maker volume builds are still the muscle cars.
@@gixxxer1000 But if the cost of carbon fiber manufacture keeps going down, imagine the possibilities of computer design and stuff, especially considering it doesn't have to be picture-perfect-looking weave once people get bored of looking at it and just want it like regular colors or whatever.
Fact is, I can't afford even really gutted shells of what used to be five hundred dollar cars even as runners, (And real wages haven't gone up since then even, already) ...you could be looking at like eight grand for a Duster you'd still have to throw thousands more at for paint and body before even getting to the parts that make it go. Which you'd have to/want to do anyway... (Someone had a Feather Duster, which was a real gutless economy package at the time, but... aluminum hood and front fenders, and most modern builds...you'd be changing out the rest of the stuff that was too cheap anyway. If I had a like fourty grand budget I might have bought the thing. )
@@brandonpayne7240 They have it on their site as starting at $400k
Having worked with all those materials and recently transitioning to aerospace-grade stainless, etc., not only is this a real beauty but it MUST have cost a fortune. Worth it!

Absolutely beautiful this is the type of shit I have dreams about
I’d like to visually see how they make such a masterpiece like this come to life. I’d love to see a tour around the shop .
That car is a work of art.
1970 Charger is the most beautiful car ever built, just not a fan of the car being lowered.
RobVoyles yea i dont know why they did that
Just the trend these days, everything has to be motorsport inspired with rollcages, splitters and wings and all sorts of diffusers
Jack Jonas that is pretty subjective for you to think everyone has an opinion on beauty.
I disagree, have you ever seen a 1937 Delahaye? And even limiting it to 1970 Mopar, I'd take a Superbird over a plain Charger anyday on sheer sexiness!
Bro I'm with you but I think the lowered stance make the tires look bigger and it looks like its faster! Personally I don't like the color but I freakin salute the artistry.....

One badass build
Most of koniseggs cars made of carbon fiber
It would do really well but ordinary cars like Tesla's always get 5 star crash test ratings with aluminum bodies.
Considering it has a full cage probally better them most Road cars.
That is the most ridiculous, amazing, beautiful car Ever! I am blown away! Must have cost 500k-900k at least to build

No sh_t it's gotta get to the burnyard!!! just hearing that thing rev up is nasty
Great modern take on a charger. This was very well done. It could have used an automatically adjustable ride height cause it’s really too low to drive over varying road conditions. The person building this probably meant for this to be more of a show car or garage Queen than something that could really be driven.
This charger is absolutely amazing! I would like to see a 82-92 camaro built like this, and redesigned, that would be pretty sweet!
The most beautiful car ever assembled by hand for sure. This design will definitely last a lifetime. Might cost $3m
