  • The Dodge Charger Hellucination ($not for sale bucko) is a 1968 restomod built by the custom shop Speedkore. Powering this carbon-fibre-outfitted classic muscle car is an inhuman 7.0 litre hellephant engine, with a 3.0 litre supercharger attached. Because 7.0 litres of naturally aspirated power just won’t cut it for owner Ralph Gilles, Chief Designer at Stellantis, and special guest on this episode. Watch as James and Mr.Gilles spend some time in his very special custom Charger restomod. We hope you enjoy the episode. Subscribe!!

James has gone from, guy who makes funny jokes to true journalistic abilities without losing who he really is. You'll see people get big and it go straight to the ego. He has evolved into someone who gets cars, but also design concepts that become reality. Plus, he isn't afraid to ask the tough questions. All in all, great interview and video. Agreed... though it still doesn't stop the people who already own/paying on from complaining about "how dodge sold out" Tim said it the best, "It's 1972 all over AGAIN" and most of those complainers are barely older than the L chassis platform they own, let alone the 1990s Mercedes E Class it was based from, because of the era of being Daimler owned.

The one thing I've grown to appreciate about Ralph is the fact that instead of sounding like an overly self important car designer, he seems to be more of a translator that translates the visceral wants of the human condition into attainable vehicles for the masses (well, if dealerships didn't mark this stuff up so dumb). I still remember his sketch of a Hellcat Pacifica or Town and Country on a napkin and thought "How does he make a minivan look so badass".

I grew up on Mad Max, the Dukes of Hazard and a love of classic American muscle. And now I drive a computer on wheels LOL. As much as I love the performance of my Tesla, I lament at the dying V8s but am hopeful that a 'muscle/performance EV' is somewhere on the horizon. The new gen of 'performance EVs' won't please everyone and the EV vs. ICE subject can be a divisive, but at the end of the day I'm an enthusiast. Awesome video.
