    As someone with a fairly basic understanding of mechanics, who has always been THAT person who peppers her mechanics with a multitude of questions such as “what is that, what does that do, how do you fix it” etc, I’m so glad that I found this channel- I’m loving every minute of your content!!!

    I love these videos,I'm hooked.I live in Spain and also flip bangers although only as a hobby so maybe 1 every 3 months.I find Gus and Will inspirational and I'm learning a lot of tricks.For example today I came across an old rusted nut that wouldn't budge,I thought to myself ,what would Will and Gus do ?...so I whacked it with a big hammer and out it came sweetly.

    I've only just discovered your channel and I'm already a big fan. Your patience and talent at fault-finding is unbelievable. Good luck for the future. It must be very satisfying to keep so many "old bangers" on the road.

    I love watching carshows like this. I know the economy in fixing the cars is based on DIY. I remember talking to my favorite car dealer, questioning why I had to pay so much. Flipping bangers and Wheeler Dealers is much cheaper. Then we laughed our a.... of, and went into the office and put together a realistic and good deal.

    I flipped a few cars in the UK, to be honest, when I flipped cars under £750, pretty much all I did was a very basic service, new wiper blades, changed a tyre or two and a decent wash, polish, and thorough clean inside.
    I did the work over a weekend and sold in the yellow ads for free, in the early 90s - 00s making £350 for 6-8 hours work, 2-3 times a month, gave me money my ex wife's solicitor didn't know about!
    I live in Thailand now, car prices are strange, the prices depend on age, luxury, rarity, manual vs auto, mileage, brand, colour and feeling of the seller.
    Rust isn't an issue, but sun damage can be awful, on paintwork and dashboards.
    I've seen an incorrectly restored Morris 1100 painted orange badly for £6,000, but a 1994 Seat Cordoba with 100k on the clock for £750. I saw a MkI Escort 2 door no running gear, virtually no paint but no rust for £600.
    I sometimes feel like buying something old and having a play, but I don't know how I'd feel trying to work on it in 33-37 degree heat. 😐

    It would have been much better if the hosts compared the engine technology and gearboxes from different eras to the present. The engines of 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and then the present technology, all compared as to their road performance and driving pleasure.

    Just like Wheeler Dealers, these guys aren't making any money after rent. Their work goes unpaid in almost all of their projects, so it's just a tv show, not a business.

      Yeah ive sold 2 vehicles this week both not mine,a camper and a caravan, commission sales 2300 euros ,no overheads,no cleaning, no outlay,just advertising and answering messages, as for cars I sell them for parts ,watching this makes me feel good about my business.

    • @MrPropanePete
      @MrPropanePete 5 місяців тому +3

      Yes, the numbers don’t stack up. Some weeks they only clear £500 or so which is £250 each. That would hardly pay the rent on the workshop, especially one with a hoist. But the banter between Gus and Will is genuine, they’re obviously good mates and they’re having fun so if a TV production company wants to pay them for their hobby, then good on them. Even though it’s scripted, there’s still a lot of funny ad hoc off the cuff spontaneous stuff going on. I enjoy it.

      Wheeler Dealers had the chance to add something to it … they had more an idea, style for a car. The ‘most’ exciting I’ve seen on this show is turning an MX5 back to standard and trading in the alloys of a MINI for white steelies. It’s fun to watch, but clearly Wheeler Dealers on a budget 😂

    Needs a engine swap, brake upgrade, aftermarket suspension, ground effects package, a nice rear wing, black leather seat reupholstery, black leather steering wheel. Paint touch up and buffing, and ceramic coating. Dont forget the aftermarket rims and fresh rubber.

    Everything they did to that body is hideous. Should have kept it original. I notice they never get the timing light out on any of these shitters they buy. Oh yeah - did you see the brake disc? And all that work for a profit of what? - bugger all. Laughable. Couple of dills.
