You guys are amazing! I so wanted to be a mechanic but life took me on a very weird journey. I can relate to your problem with no bids. I'm an artist specializing in oil paintings. Since COVID, my sales tanked. So if anyone likes paintings here I am.
They probably do clean their cars up first. This is a TV production which follows a fairly standard formula of scripting, shooting, continuity and editing. The footage of photographing the cars as they arrive at the workshop is probably just a dummy take.
Your Roller restoration video impressed me a lot Pleased to find I had no problem understand what was being said, occasionally finding some English dialects challen ging. Pleased to see how refreshingly honest you both are.
I was so happy, thought you were gonna keep it. We have these cars in Africa but they are x5 more expensive to buy and usually rotten beyond repair. We through cash at them until we get them drivable.
@@geoffwoodgate7450 oohh yeah, shipping and tax will eat you alive and most countries in Africa are putting a stop to older cars. It's cheaper and reasonable buying used in Africa!
It's not being said in this show but the buyer is actually the boss of the guy who sold the car in the beginning; that's why he was not present. Behind the curtains they had a deal to fix the engine and springs as it was for the garage to pricy regarding labor to get all these issues solved as it required at least 40 hours (i.e. a week) and the car would become to expensive to sell anymore.
have 1986 190e blood red, nice car indeed unfortunatly here in sweden they like to salt the drive ways during winter, so have to fix some rust during the summer.
Hey guys, I have an idea. How about when you start to a job on a car, you get a quote from a local to do the job, and show it as a comparison to your price at the end. it would be very interesting to see the difference at the end. Cheers
Business car wreckers and parts are very helpful in the UK and specialist . I have an early smart Fortwo and older Mercedes Vito no help Brisbane Australia and absolutely hopeless to find anyone can repair or supply parts or European older cars . Australia is so backwards 😮
I like this show, however can't understand why they photograph the car before fully detailing involving cut (if necessary) and polish. Also the number of cars that they buy have extensive rust, when simply running them up the ramps they use to load onto the trailer during inspection would give them an indication of whether its viable or not.viable or not. Also it seems to me that the profit they make for 5 days labour, split 2 ways does not in any way make any sense.
Not even in India would that trimming cost 35pounds. And in the end spending 350 pounds on a shitty radio and 15tyres. A polish for the body would have made extra 500 pounds for the selling price and cost same as the radio.
You can learn so much by watching these two amazing men !

The working bond with Gus and Greg makes this work..
Excellent repair and a well deserved profit
This was a good one, I loved the sound of the engine after fixing it and the looked so sweet. I'm jealous ❤
1000 years of motoring innovation and the water jacket and combustion chamber must always be connected. Nice video Lads.
Good Job ! Ive got a 180C which is fantastic. Always trust a Merc.
Please clean the cars before you take pictures of them for your adverts, not doing yourselves any favours.

Look closely, when photographed it's at normal ride height , then it's pushed into the garage it's slammed again !
I would of ended up keeping that one. that's why I don't flip cars. great work.
enjoy the show very much

I want to export to Africa but transport adds too much cost.
Gambia.

Are you from South Africa by any chance?
@@davidgalea6113 no, am from Uganda.
New series is mostly needed best car show since Top gear..
The third series is better. They have raised repairs level and increased the budget.

That was a gamble that paid off! Expecting the right buyer to be available on day 6 is a long shot though.
love that car..
Missed my 190E...same colour and same spec as yours. Marvellous car indeed. Aryton Senna Merc.😢😢😢
Great video.
Minuto 40:28 la mejor radio! PIONEER ❤️👍📼📻📼📻🚇
I drive one of those. Very solid and dependable car. It just needs its maintenance
Çocukluğumun yıldızı keşke şimdi bunun aynısına sahip olsam diye düşündüm
I'm guessing the lads didn't know what the E stands for, if so they'd have rebadged it correctly (as a 190)
Good Work
Great show, pity you didn't show the oil change, I know you did change it but I could hear many viewers thinking, did they..
It’s all included in the cost of £20 consumables, together with coolant and gaskets … 😂
Did you change the oil.?

Why do the people making these programs think we need so many recaps we can remember how the program started
For 1800 I would've too

This show should be called "The Two Wallys". My God they're clueless. Another one they sold for zip.
190E with a carburetor??
Yep base poverty spec model.
Then it’s a 190, not a 190E. E stands for Einspritzung, meaning injection.
I had a similar one.
Wish you luck guys! I really appreciate your lack of using dirty language while working :)
nice car
Selling it too cheaply. That buyer liked it !. Hold out a bit longer and reach the 1950 (or so)
Its a 190 non injected the E has been added
Thank you 😊
The Maserati in the back looks way better, that would be nice to put a cheap Maserati back to life.
IAM sure re-tension the old springs would be a fraction of the price, could have saved a lot more 💰😂
Sweet! But a Baby Benz is nowhere near a prestige car. Just sayin.
Edit: 25:05 That mechanic looks gorgeous! What a neat face!
Daft question has anyone brought it?

A bargain for £1800.
Thats why the say Mercedes benz the best or nothing, 190 is the Non plus ultra there is no better car then Mercedes benz in those times.
As we call it in Afrikaans, a set of snybachs. Lol
You say this a if the world knows what Afrikaans is 😂
Gus drives like a grandpa
Gus is the most 😡😡 person
