i discovered his show on tv a while back. i prefer watching his show over all the other ones on tv. the other car shows on tv try to be funny, they play jokes on each other, and they cuss and carry on like idiots. this guy talks all the time and his calm demeanor is just so refreshing compared to the other shows. plus the work he does and completes is amazing and very unique.
Great work! I had a Manx Dune Buggy on a shortened VW pan and a dual-port 1300 w/lightened flywheel in 1977! It was a blast! It was metal-flake blue. I only drove it on the street for fun when I was 17/18. It had huge (12"+?) wide rear 'tars & big-ens up front too! It drove like a over-sized go-kart! The top was very similar to your design, though only a very simple plywood, all flat, black vinyl covered with button-tufted top.
I think you are brilliant your design and method of cutting and welding is genius and showing us how to do it the same time it motivate me I am 70 yrs old thank you both you have change my life
I love your show and the way you explain! What you’re doing! Keeps me amused! Don’t change a thing!!! Just please keep up the good work GREAT BUILDS! Thanks!
Great build. Any idea if you can get the make and model of the taillights that Victor picked up at the truck stop? The small ovel ones look like they would work great for a custom build I am working on. Lights shown about 25 minutes into this video. Thanks
When Ian said the white outshines the blue, I instantly thought yellow or gold flake in clear... then the idea of yellow windows came up. Great minds do think alike....lol
I totally love it Ian I think it should have had two portholes and I think they should have been tempted heavily other than that it's perfect keep going man would love to meet you one day
really enjoy this build but i just seen the hole in the roof with more detail.. that defo needs looking at.. it seams so ruff the cut.. ahh cool you will be putting a sun roof in.. i thought you was going to leave it open to help with the wind coming through above the front shield.. ok i take it back :) only thing i would be worried about is the acrylic with the heat of the sun.. and the uv effect on the acrylic. looks like it was hand cut out with a jigsaw... but loving the build takes me back to the days when me and my old man used to do custom cars and boats loved it.. damn the car looks awesome at the show... and i love VW's
I love the design. But if I was your friend, I'd tell you off camera that the color scheme reminds me of an auntie's 'front bathroom' toilet, white porcelain with a padded blue seat and blue shag seat cover and cap. Yep. I am 'that' friend.
I guess it's the only way I can reply since you've got it blocked otherwise but it's a vote dragon I didn't really care for him but your paint job the white needs to go clear the back and wrap around the light and now it looks a lot better than just stopping before the light that's like all the light rain
Ian always has the best designs. VW Life!
Everything you build in the VW realm is correct. I cant get enough dune buggy action from you! Thank you.

Awesome buggy...
Wow! there are space movie cars and one of the cars in the movie Robocop! Its the SUX 6000! 33:34
That thing is very cool, specially with a blown vw engine🔥🔥🔥
Pure "Hot Wheels"....Mattel has gotta do this 1 if they haven't already! Ian still call it the "Dog House"?
I love the design. But if I was your friend, I'd tell you off camera that the color scheme reminds me of an auntie's 'front bathroom' toilet, white porcelain with a padded blue seat and blue shag seat cover and cap.
Yep. I am 'that' friend.
Seeing the tank-cap made me think it was an old fashioned schoolbell.
What's the point of the gas cap on drivers side? Why not matching port holes? Anyone seen it in person?
Your upholstery guy is here in chicago? What name of his shop??? Need seats. Redone ….
Gotta do two slits in the rear bumper on Victor‘s car it would just look incredible little brake light reverse light action
Vary nice
Gloss clear coat with a bit of metal flake will help the blue.
Hinge roof for boarding buggy
There is a problem with Victors car rear left wheel.
Whaaaaaa???
We don't get to see the finished interior?? 😒
Sure glad you brightened up the blue. Much better
Let a 3d graffitti kid do the undr-neath...lol..lov it as is ....but.....id fly it dronestyle .
You have me laughing again.Im doing my last car.40 what ever
Like and a sub ❤ the build and your dogs
All I have to say is that turned out to be Bad Ass and head turning. Great job on the build.👍🇨🇦🦫
I like the whole car I just didn't like the back off thing on the back I just think that could have been done different
Hey the rims on the fins of the rims would look good painted blue
Option one deff no.! Looks ugly and off.!!
I guess it's the only way I can reply since you've got it blocked otherwise but it's a vote dragon I didn't really care for him but your paint job the white needs to go clear the back and wrap around the light and now it looks a lot better than just stopping before the light that's like all the light rain

I enjoy watching your fabrication, but the lingo doesn't get it for me..just be normal, talk normal
Try full custom Ian. Same thing with more fab and a lot less TV show stuff.
Like your channel I don't really care too much for Volkswagen's are that paint job the white Should go clear back and around The Port hole window
