    I have a CJ 7 with an 🤕8,000 lb warn winch, never failed me to get 4 wheel tractor out or lots of other people. I run Mickie Thompson’s, never used it to get myself out. Thanks MT!

      Good stuff! Great insurance plan to have one, even better if you never have to use it! Better yet if you get to help out a friend with it!
      Thanks for the comment and feedback! Congrats on the JL 2 door!

    Thanks for the Instruct. After getting stuck in the mud with my brand new rubicon unlimited I will be installing a Rugged Ridge with my Smittybilt 12000 very soon. I'm assuming the four bolt back plate is for reinforcement.

    This is not really an issue with a product but instead might be a suggestion for an easier installation of the Spartacus winch mount. I love the fact that it is essentially plug and play for the mount system. It is rather tight against the lower part of the grille though. In the instructions, they have the rear skid plate mounting bracket holes being relocated for the actual brackets where the mount to the frame to slide them forward ever so slightly. I just installed one yesterday, and I found it so much easier to simply relocate the holes on the actual skid plate as opposed to the brackets on the frame. There are only two holes on the plate that need moving as opposed to four holes on the mounting bracket. Anyway, just a suggestion. I had absolutely no issues with it, and it mounted just fine. Thank you. The Spartacus mount is really the only way that I have found to keep the OEM Steel bumper and the look that it has. Good Stuff. ChichuahuaCabra

    I think I measured 17lbs for both end caps and 24lbs switching from cable to synthetic rope. Nice vid. So 41lbs saved from with synth line install and end cap removal

      Very good to know. Thanks for that info! I would like to swap out for a synthetic line in the future. Thanks for watching and sharing some more insight!

    Hey i have to he exact same moab. good choice lol. i also just got a Warn winch. question on that fairlead install, i notice you reused the plastic plate that holds it. all you did is make the opening for the rope and bolted down the fairlead to the bumper, correct?

    • @QuickShifts
      @QuickShifts  3 роки тому

      Yes sir. I used a Dremel and cut out the opening before installing it. If you happen to make a mistake, you can buy that piece for around $15-20.
      I just did the same thing on my Gladiator. Works like a charm.

    Great video! Did you have any issues getting the grill on and off? I have the exact same setup as you and find it’s super tight.

    • @QuickShifts
      @QuickShifts  2 роки тому

      Thank you!
      If you mean the front plate on the bumper, it is definitely tight but you can make it work. If you mean the grill of the Jeep, it is also tight but I haven’t had a reason to remove it so not a problem.

    • @blck04gt
      @blck04gt 2 роки тому

      Sorry! Yeah, I mean between the back of the solenoid box and the grill. Pulling the grill’s clips out is difficult because of the lack of room between the two. The grill basically rests on the back of the solenoid box. Same for you?

      Jason Asunto Thanks for watching and the comment. A lot of people do swap out for aftermarket. Might be worth checking with local Jeep shops, eBay, Craigslist or the equivalent to see if you can snag a used one and save a few dollars. Good luck with your search!

    I wanted to see how you mounted the fair lead. Did you use a filler plate ? Or is it the factory plastic under the fair lead ?

    • @QuickShifts
      @QuickShifts  4 роки тому +2

      George Urquidez it’s the factory plastic. I used my Dremel to cut it out and mounted it behind the fair lead so it didn’t have the big open whole behind it. I thought it looked better this way.

      Some Warn winches or winchplates come with a metal backing plate to mount the fairlead onto, yours did not? I don't think I would want to mount a fairlead onto the plastic insert that's on my '19 JLU.

    • @QuickShifts
      @QuickShifts  4 роки тому

      Glenn Gore it’s actually mounted to the bumper with the original bumper plate sandwiched in between to make it more visually appealing. Without that plate, it leaves open gaps that I personally didn’t like. Rest assured it is a very solid mount. Thanks for watching and commenting! Very much appreciated!

      @@QuickShifts Great, thanks much for the quick reply. My early spring project is to put a winch on my Jeep and I'm looking at various options for winch plates and winches, both Warn and the Harbor Freight Badlands winch.

    • @QuickShifts
      @QuickShifts  4 роки тому

      Glenn Gore gotcha, I was doing a lot of research also. I was about to commit to Smitty Built and then I got a gift card gift that allowed me the opportunity to step up to a Warn. The warn is a good bit more expensive but I saw it as a long term commitment knowing I would keep it, probably longer then my Jeep LOL. Plus I landed so many times in the past that I should have gotten the better tool always at the worst possible timing. In my garage is annoying, but getting stuck on a trail, no thank you.

    In the instructions it says to in longate the skid plate brackets, did you have to do that?

    • @QuickShifts
      @QuickShifts  3 роки тому

      I did not have to do that. It was in my instructions as well. If you line it up and start the bolts loosely to fit it before tightening it will fit.

    Your line is missing the supporting bracket around the hook loop

    Although your video does not show the mounting of the fairlead, it doesn't appear that you installed the fairlead mounting bracket.

    Ya need to ditch that steel cable and get fiber ..much much better and it wont scratch your bumper up when stowed..

    • @QuickShifts
      @QuickShifts  5 років тому

      PhatboyHD88 possible future upgrade. Seems like the prices for the synthetic cables has been coming down. If I find the right deal, I’ll pick one up.

    • @robertimgrund9936
      @robertimgrund9936 5 років тому +2

      I don’t think your fair lead is for cable that one is for the synthetic rope. You need a steel roller fairlead for the cable.

    • @QuickShifts
      @QuickShifts  5 років тому

      Robert Imgrund I went back and did some research. The hawse style fair lead included with the Warn Winch is designed for use with both steel cable or synthetic. Traditionally though, the roller style is commonly used with steel cables. It should be fine.
