    Finally a video that shows the installation of the negative cable! Warn doesn’t even have a video on their channel showing this. Thanks for the thorough install!

    Very good install video! That winch will be great out in the field ! Love the Flatlink !

      Thank you! Hopefully I never have to use it (for myself) lol but it will be there just in case myself or someone else needs a tug. I really like the Factor 55 stuff, pure trail bling, but also functional lol

    Kramer, I have a similar setup to you with my Ursa Minor and I'm currently weighing in light at 5300 lbs. I'm shopping for a Warn winch (my first winch ever!) and I'm wondering why did you decide to go with the 12S instead of the 10S (or even the 8S)? Wasn't the 12S overkill? I remember from your gigantic fridge that you don't shy away from over-engineered solutions! Thanks so much for your reply!

      It was the price. I bought my winch on a Black Friday sale and it was like $10 more to go with the 12 over the 10 and its only like a 4Lb difference. Also, as of last weighing, my JKU is at almost exactly 6klbs, so a 12k is appropriate for my vehicle weight at double the pulling capacity
      I actually have a few ideas to shed about 200lbs.

    Great video, did you found out how to charge the controller?

    • @KramerJunction
      @KramerJunction  3 роки тому

      It takes a proprietary Warn battery, it’s like $14 to replace 🤷‍♂️

    • @brpnw4r94

      @@KramerJunction...not proprietary. ER 14505 3.6v 2600mAh battery. Less than 10$. I picked one up and put it in my kit. Cheers. FYI I run their EVO8s

    I’m new to the whole winch thing so this might be a dumb question. You have your winch plug in at all times?

    • @KramerJunction
      @KramerJunction  3 роки тому +1

      It’s always connected to power, but the winch controller is stored inside the Jeep. You can install a solenoid or power interior that cuts off power, but it’s not mandatory. The winch does have a slight amount of parasitic draw on the battery

    Do you think its a good idea to weld the 2 or 3 volts from the Winch to the bumper?

      I know people who have put a small bead on the nut on the bottom at the end of the bolt. A would be thief would have some work to do to get it off, but so will you 😂🤷‍♂️

      When I opened the packaging there was a hand written note thanking me for buying it, saying I was buying from a small family business. Must have just been for whoever the shipper was or maybe smaller reseller. Not sure about that now 🤔

      @KramerJunction  2 роки тому

      Lol yes exactly why I removed everything from the Genesis System and wired it to my new house battery, the rats nest is now under the rear floor where my single Battle Born Battery is. Now that it’s been a while and I know everything works, I’ll be working on cleaning things up and shortening some wires
