MetalCloak Stubby Front Bumper Swap for the Jeep Wrangler JKU
Вставка
- Опубліковано 25 гру 2017
- Here is the video that shows the AutoEdit Jeep Wrangler Rubicon getting a Stubby... Front Bumper. This is the MetalCloak frame built stubby bumper with the end caps that have mounting holes for your stock fog lights or aftermarket lights and the tubular winch guard.
I am replacing the Warn Crawler mid length bumper because the larger Maxxis tires where hitting it in extreme situations and now I'll get the more aggressive look and capability a stubby bumper allows.
Here's a link to the Metalcloak website for this bumper:

Plus I added a Factor 55 combo hook with eyelet for a D Ring. Check out the link to that thing:

On order! Nothing like ripping into one of the last brand new JK Rubicons to do this. My wife is apprehisive with it not even having a 50 miles on it. Mehhh gimme my grinder!!! This thing is gonna look good!.
Yes please!!! Do a how to video on editing. Your videos are great, very captivating to watch which I attribute to your editing skills.
OK! Thanks so much... I'll definitely will put the editing 101 video in the mix of To-Do!
MC makes some top level gear. The stubby makes a nice addition to your JK!
Scott
Loving the Metalcloak products you are using and your Jeep looks awesome so far. Great job!
Thank you so much!
It’s funny because I clean and prep the area before I put a new part on. Good to see other people do that as well. Love the build. Definitely love the stubby look!
MAN...THAT JEEP IS AWWWWSOME!!!! Thanks for a wonderful video.
Your videos, and research have definitely convinced me to go with Metalcloak. Much appreciated sir.
Glad to hear that... you'll be happy... promise! Thanks for watching!
Loving all this metal cloak! What a quality build
Love the videos Jason! You're by far my favorite car youtuber!!
Oh, stop! Thanks so much for the support and taking the time to watch and say such encouraging things!!!
Your rock!
Thanks for all the jk videos, I am doing a ton of Metal Cloak upgrades it's nice to see how it will look on my jeep.
Right on!
I enjoy watching your vids! I love everything about jeeps. Keep up the good work man.
Another great video man! love all the components that you're picking
Thanks so much!!!
Huge improvement and looks great. Great vid
Thank you Thank you
Dude another awesome upgrade its as sweet as it is functional
Wow, that bumper really looks great! Time to upgrade those driving lights now!
Thanks and I agree about those lights needing an upgrade!
Amazing BRO .
I don't know why I am waiting your jeep videos as well
I don't know either but I'm glad you are so thanks!
Great video as always.
The stubby bumper looks awsome! I like it way better than the full width.
Thanks! I like it better as well!
That is an awesome stubby bumper I like the look of it and the added winch hook gives it a more aggressive look nice update video.
That hook is very handsome looking and the bumper came out better than I thought from the pictures online so I'm thrilled! Thanks for watching!
Just pick up 2018 jku rubicon ..great vids really inspiring thanks
I always look forward to seeing what you’ll upgrade on your Jeep next. Great video.
P.S. I second the headlights and light bar.
I like the suggestion... Thanks!
Great Video! Factor 5 offers a hard cover for the front of that winch hook that will cover the rope and protect it from impact/ elements, etc. It installs right over the rubber bumpers, using the existing holes. Love that bumper!
Thanks for the tip... I happen to see that at the SEMA show and thought it was very cool.
Sweet looking bumper and winch. I just went with the Rugged Ridge Stubby.
Very nice!
I’ve been waiting for a video from you thanks you’re the best keep it up
Well, actually you are the best for watching my silly videos and taking the time to say awesome stuff!
Your videos make me want a jeep. Another great vid man. i like how this went from a daily to a rig.
Thanks so much! it's still a daily as well!!!
This was the first Metalcloak upgrade that I did on my Jeep. The bumpers are amazing. I just ordered the Gold Undercloak skid plate system, so now I am impatiently waiting on them to call me to come pick it up.
I'm curious about that system as well... it's about the only thing I haven't ordered from them at this point!
Well there are alot of people on the Metalcloak Owners Club Facebook Page that would love to see an install video.
Your Jeep looks amazing Jason
Thanks so much Sofia!!!
Yes to the editing tutorial.
Great video, you always give great info
Thanks so much!
What a cool jeep! Much nicer then the stock model. Great video!
Thanks so much!
Cool video like always Jason. On your headlights. I've got the KC LED headlights. They're bright- have a great cutoff and can't beat the KC 23 year warranty. Have a great new year coming up too.
I'll check those out! Thanks so much for the suggestion!
Love your work on Dirt Every Day and also really dig the style of your install videos. I've been working on some off roading and build update videos, but would really like some quality tips from you. Keep it up!
Thanks! Glad to see you getting started doing videos. I'll do a edit 101 video for sure and just keep making those videos!
Wow, that really looks much better! Santa have been good to you :o))
And yes please, we would very much like to see a tutorial vid!
Thank you for everyhing!
Yes, I'm a lucky dude for sure!
Thanks so much for the support and will do an edit helper video for sure!
You make some really rad videos! I always end up drooling over your rubicon. I hope to have one in the future, and I’ll have your videos to help me upgrade it!
Awesome!
Awesome looking stubby bumper great vid
Thank you Thank you
Really like the way the winch sits low in the bumper and that factor 55 hook look really nice
I agree, thanks!
Totally agree. That factor 55 hook really adds a lot. I just added that to my wish list.
Jeremy McLerran yes I have not seen it until now will be look at on for myself
Such a great upgrade to the jeep Jason! Form and function. Make sure to update on performance after awhile too.
Will do! thanks for watching!
Another great one keep it up jason!
Thanks so much, really appreciate this!
and also what are you planning on doing with your warn bumper?
Video edit 101 would be great! Keep sending out great content as I am a new jeeper and soaking up what i can. Thanks!
All the comments telling you to do a light bar next, wow. Makes me not want one anymore. You do your thing. I love your taste and every video.
That is so cool to hear, thanks!!!! I have a feeling that is exactly why I'm taking my time on figuring out what I want to do with the lights... LOL!
I have this bumper setup but with the skid plate, absolutely awesome bumper. FYI, you can buy the extended wiring harness adaptors for the fog lights from Quadratec.
Awesome to hear that and thanks so much for the tip!
I didn't think the other bumper looked bad but this new one looks sweet! btw, every time I watch one of your videos it makes me want to work on my own vehicle. Only issue is mine is currently under 3"s of snow.
Thanks! Yeah I got used to the other bumper and it didn't really bother me but once you are a flexed out on an obstacle and hear your tires rub that thing... it's stressful because it just doesn't give at all so it had to go. Plus, once I looked at this thing and the location of the winch sealed the deal for me!
Take care out there in the snow!
nice job man! good tutorial!
Man that’s slick! Nice going
Thanks a bunch!
Got a warn zeon 10-s for christmas, but I already had this exact bumper configuration. This video would have been amazing about 8 hours ago, because no one else has thorough metalcloak installs.
LOL! Unfortunately it's a learning process and sometimes an expensive one... that Warn bumper was way more expensive than the MetalCloak bumper I replaced it with!
SALUDOS DESDE MEXICO, GRACIAS POR COMPARTIR PROCESOS EN EL APRENDIZAJE CONSTANTE, MUY AMABLE Y LA VERDAD SUPER BONITO TU JEEP@@AutoEdits
Keep up the great videos 👍🏼👍🏼
I'll try... Thanks so much for the support!
man I love your content
Man, I love that you take a minute to watch and say something awesome!
I will definitely buy the old warn!!!
Yes an editing video would be great! The filming video was awesome!
Thanks!!! I'll work on that in a few weeks for sure!
Yes a home run with that one. Thumbs up!
Thanks!
Nice bumper!!! I like the idea of how to edit video!
OK! I'll put it in the mix!
Very nice bumper indeed!
Thanks!
Great video! Thank you.
Hi love your jeep man!👌💪
Thanks!
Looks amazing
Thanks!
Awesome video keep up the good work yes enjoy all videos you make please do the edit video.....
Thanks so much!!! Edit video has been decided and will come when I can!
You made me love this car. I'll get me one soon :)
I highly recommend!
That’s a fast and furious jeep right there’s!😃👍
LOL! Thanks dude!
Amazing dude.
Well, thank you dude!
Your rig is gorgeous, keeps getting better and better! I'd love to see an editing video and understand what kind of computer "horsepower" is needed as well.
Thanks! Ok, I'll do the editing video and show as much as I can!
Hey Jason, I'll take that old Warn bumper off your hands. It would look great on my stock 2 door JK!
I just turned 17 and these vids have inspired me to save up for my own jeep to work on !! And can u do a led headlight instal vid?
I'm so glad to hear that you have a passion for the Jeeps and wanting to wrench on it yourself! Good luck on accomplishing that and YES I will do headlights pretty soon!
Great install. I really like how the winch mounts down in the bumper. I'm not sure I like the winch bar it just looks out of place to me coming from underneath. I love that factor 55 hook and I can't wait to get one of my own. I agree I would like to see an editing video. It's always cool to see someone else's workflow too.
Thanks dude. Will do!
Man I am loving your videos! I have watched all of the Jeep vids in the past day. i'm going to end up copying you on a lot of this stuff! is that a 1201 or 1401 bumper? i'm guessing 1401 with the bigger ends for fog lights. thanks for making this content available.
Thank you so much for watching!
Yes do an edit video.
Very nice!! I’m new to your channel and I absolutely love your Jeep! ✌🏼🤟🏼 I’ve been trying to remove my grill to put the new angry bird grill I got as a gift however the Winch is on the way and too heavy for me to take off 😅☹️
LOL! Good luck with you grill change project and WELCOME to the channel... Glad to have you here!
Jason (AutoEdits), Great video! My 2016 Hard Rock did not make things easy for me. I had to work through a bunch of issues during my install. In the end, it all came together, and I love the new look of the front end. I'm still not 100% happy. The winch control box is just touching the jeep's grill. I'm not sure if I'm just going to live with it or relocate it. I definitely don't want to get rid of my Warn though.
Mine touches a little bit as well... but that Warn winch stays!
I am a jeep owner and fan but, I am ready for a large Marge update!!
That is the right way to remind me, thanks! I have two big things waiting for Ol' Marge... exhaust and a BeCool Radiator... now just time!
Definitely would love to see an editing 101 video!
Got it!
Nice Jason
Thanks a bunch!
looks great man, i'm jealous :p everything you put on there make's me want to get something similar but the exchange rate to import some of those parts is just insane...
Sorry to hear that... I do really appreciate how great I have it here but I'm glad to hear from people who like Jeeps from around the world!
with the winch lower down it will also improve cooling, win win and win!
Yea! What an upgrade! Metalcloak has some great stuff! When is Dynatrac shipping out your Dana 60s?
Man, I would LOVE that... haven't gotten that tracking number yet...lol
Do you know someone over there I can send my email address to? HA!
Thanks so much for watching!
Luv ur videos man, when u gonna do a video on upgrading ur headlights ??
Thanks... soon!
Editing video sounds good... Always wondered what software to use on your videos
Answers will soon be had
I see you have a Rugged Radio case deal.. Do you have a radio? Id love to see your radio/ antenna set up in a video. and also a video on how you can keep your Rigs so clean!! You are absolutely awesome!
It really does look great!! I enjoyed this video. But, just curious, does this Jeep have crumple zones? if yes, do they stay in tack with these types of modes??
I did the same thing, picked up a front bumper before I knew what I was doing... I’m looking to do the same thing and upgrade to a bit more stubby.
HA! Yes, that dang learning curve with these things... plus it's like hitting a moving target sometimes. When I first got this Jeep, I never thought I'd wheel in Moab or terrain like that but ended up there twice last year. One of these days I'd like to see a pic of your rig and some of the upgrades you've done getting ready for that insane list you plan on hitting next year!
Much better. Love the MC stuff.
HA! Yes it is an upgrade for sure!
Hey, you have great videos, amazing rithem to them. Sorry for the poor English, I'm from Israel...
Looks good. 101 edit video please!
Okie Dokie!
very nice upgrades Jason!
too bad your bumper you just replaced wont fit my 04 jeep grand cherokee!
Excellent video Jason! Are you planning to put a Snorkel on a Jeep? It would give it very good offload look, and did you think about some HID or LED headlights for a Jeep, and some LED front turning lights? That looks awesome. Best regards and happy Holidays.
I haven't considered a snorkel yet but would like to do fancy headlights, fog lights and turn signals and eventually a good light bar or something. Thanks so much and happy holidays to you as well!
Awesome video, an editing video would be nice for the future
Copy that! Thanks!
Jason - looks great! wouldn't you gain a better approach angle without the extra bar?
I'm not worried about the full frontal approach angle but freeing up the area in front of the tires gives me more options in tricky situations that I've come across in Moab.
It does look better fitted . Will it stave off mud and rocks like the metal cloak. ..
Yes on editing please.
Gotcha!
How to edit, please!! 👍👍👊 Ordered some Metalcloak front fenders for my Tj Rubicon because of you by the way. They should be here any day! 😊😊🇺🇸
Awesome to hear! I hope you like them as much I've absolutely loved having mine!
Will do on the edit thing!
You got Money!!!!!
Love your videos, definitely subscribed. I just purchased a 17 Rubicon Recon Unlimited and will do a few of your mods. Have you done any interior mods besides the grab handles and seat spacers? I plan to get the Alpine i209 Restyle.
Sick love the Rubicon Recon's ~14' Rubicon
Those are the only interior upgrades so far. I would like a better radio at some point... is that Alpine pretty awesome?
Could you please do a update for this bumper and how you like it because I’ve been thinking about getting something like this
Looks so much better. I would like to see your editing tutorial. You can also share your raw video clips to us to practise on something, if you want. Pinto getting new freesbee ?
Thanks, and yes Pinto got a new Frisbee for Xmas... lol!
Yes, edit video please
Roger that!
You should do some bead locks for serious wheeling
I do pretty serious wheeling just like it is and hang with all my friends and their beadlocks.
Great video, definitely do the editing tutorial.
Gotcha! Will do for sure now!
Honestly I think without the bumper cover plate it looks amazing! But it's not my jeep keep what you like obviously haha
Great vid and that bumper looks fantastic! Can you mount a light bar to the winch guard bar or are those two holes on each side of the winch on top of the bumper for the light bar mount? Thanks+
Thanks and yes you can mount a light or anything you want to that bar... it is very solid.
Makes me want to unload my bank account and buy some new parts lol! The new bumper looks great.
Jeeps will do that to you...LOL
Yes please do editing video
I love the shape of the bumper itself, but personally not a fan of the push bar. I prefer it when they are welded (or bolted) to the main structure of the bumper. How does the push bar mount in this case? Oh, and will you be doing a tire review at some point for those maxxis tires? Hopefully will be lifting and doing tires this spring. Love the video as always!
Stuka87 100% agree about the push bar
This winch guard bar mounts to both the bumper plate and the cross frame bar so it's pretty stout. I plan on putting together my version of the Trail To Sema video with a detailed review of the Maxxis tires. Glad to hear about your upgrades! Thanks so much!
Nice stubby, but you really need to get that Jeep DIRTY!
It's been dirty for a while, finally washed it right before this video!
