Jeep Gladiator JT Winch Install
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 лют 2021
- Join me as I install a Rugged Ridge winch plate and a Warn VR10 winch on my 2020 Jeep Gladiator JT. This install is identical to the install on the JL Wranglers. If you have a wrangler I also have a video on that, check it out.
Leave me your feedback and comments and let me know what should come next!

I was leery at first about installing a winch, but with this video it seems fairly easy.
Thanks for watching! It’s a doable job. The bumper is heavy and you turn some wrenches, but nothing to be scared of.
I’m literally doing the same setup in a week and I have to say this is the best install video I’ve seen for the winch. Well done.
The install was the same for my Wrangler. I did post that video long ago. If you want to see the install from out of the boxes, I would recommend that that one. Shows installing the winch onto the winch plate. Thanks for watching!
great install video! short but thorough and to the point! Will be mounting one in my JT in a few weeks!
Thanks for the kind words and for watching! 👍🏻
I will be installing my 12000 pound warn winch this afternoon. Woo hoo!
Make sure to stretch before and after! LOL!
Good luck with the wrenching, may you have no cross threaded bolts and no bloody knuckles!
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Thank you. I needed that information.
Glad to have helped out. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Nicely done. Where can I get some of those steel-toed sandals?
Haha! Mast General store, downtown Greenville. 🤣
I was sweating watching your toes right under the unbolted bumper 😳.
Very nice to the point no b.s. install video by the way 👍.
Haha! Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment!
With the wired cable aren’t you supposed to use a roller fairlead or does it matter? Thanks great video.
Thanks for watching and commenting. A roller is not required, but if you heavily use your winch, you may prefer it. What I used is what was supplied by Warn. The cable does cause scratches to it but I am not a heavy user so it is not a concern. The rollers are bigger and bulkier as well. I hope to switch to a synthetic line in the future also.
@@QuickShifts thanks. I’m still stuck on wire ropes. I’m scared of change let’s say. I just feel like wire will be more durable and I can wear leather gloves and stay out of the way in case something happens. What are your reasons for wanting to switch to synthetic
@@Colonel1BravoHave you switched to synthetic yet? All the strength, a fraction of the weight, and increased safety.
@@CredibleHulk10 i actually did and mostly for safety. I have one on my Jeep now
Will this work with the stock plastic bumper? Looking to put a winch on my '21 Mojave, but don't want to also have to put on a new bumper.
No, you need a winch capable bumper and the stock bumper is not designed to accept one. If you’re a fabricator, you could modify it to work but it would be a decent amount of work. It would be faster and easier to purchase an aftermarket bumper instead. There are some value options available much cheaper than the Mopar metal bumpers.
@@QuickShifts Thanks for the info!
@@rrbigbird2 we just traded in the gladiator for a 4Xe and it has the plastic bumper. I’m in the same boat as you. If I want to put a winch on, I will need to replace the bumper! 😉👍🏻
You forgot the skid plate installation! How is your plate installed?
It’s in there. I was probably more detailed about it on the install for the Moab. Check that video out. The install is the same.
What's the skid plate brand and model no
It’s in the video description with a link to it. 👍😉
Do you think 10k is enough?
Yes, for how I use it, it will be more than enough. If I was a super hardcore guy, maybe more would be needed, but then again, I’d probably have a different vehicle for that level. Again, I stand by this power on a Warn winch. A lessor off brand, maybe not.
@@QuickShifts I just purchased a Warn Evo winch, and looking forward to using it.
@@gvsukids congratulations! You won’t be let down.
@@QuickShifts did you add a leveling kit after words? Or did you live with the rake.
@@gvsukids I did the molar lift on mine but I did not bother putting a leveling kit on it. No issues so far and I keep on using the bed to haul stuff so it might be for the best that I didn’t level it.
Wrong fairlead for steel cable
It’s a universal lead and came with the winch from the factory. Thanks for noticing! There are better options and I may upgrade it in the future.
