Trailblazer engine knocking sound (resolved)

110xxx miles.
New note: i ended up getting my transmission replaced.
the gears were starting to slip until i could no longer drive it.
After replacement, my trailblazer kept running even when i traded it in 2018. It was a good run!

Hey Rubi, thanks for the video first off. I've seen this video tons of times, tried every method to diagnosis the issue I have with my same 07 trailblazer. I am not a mechanic but after deep thought and testing, replacing and results I have found this exact sound has some to do with lubrication of some sort of internal pieces. As a random test I tried the mystery oil, it some how stoped all the knocking noise. I don't sponsor them, I also tried Lucas oil but mystery fixed the issue. Just wanted to inform those watching this video and feeling overwhelmed with stress. $4 will save you tons!

Good to hear! I just started MMO on a TB. Going slow with low doses at first - just have lifter valve ticking but not real bad like this vid.
Ik this is a long shot, but my 06 trailblazer is doing this now. I've been crying. I've done all kinda stuff to stop it, but alot of mechanics wanna say it's stuff it's not to get more money. Help! Pls! I'm on fixed income due to lots of heart issues & breast cancer. Anything that might help so I can make it to my appts. Pls and thank you for any info to help me...
Sounds like a rod knock bad wrist pin or a bad spark plug , while the engine is running pull one spark plug wire off at a time work your from back to front , if you get to one and the knock stops then change that spark plug you have a spark knock , but if you go threw all and the knock doesnt stop then just keep up with your oil changes drive with care and start looking for another motor to drop in ...
It sounds to me like a timing set problem.

mines only knocks when the car is in drive reverse not park or neutral however it revs very high what could be the problem
its highly possible that it could be your tranny, thats how mine started going out one gear at a time.
High rev Is because you need to change your VVT variable valve timing solenoid.

Did anybody ever find out what the problem was? I just got the same exact and sound.
It's a late response but it was slipping parts from my transmission , I ended up getting it replaced and it lasted me a few more years until I traded the car.
Transmission? Did they tell you specifically what caused it? Sounds exactly like what I've got but it really sounds like it's coming from the motor.

The transmission was just becoming old and over used so the parts started slipping out through out the next couple weeks, there was wasn't really a set diagnoses of what caused it. and the same sound was also coming from the motor like yours

Mine is the same I replaced the water pump and it helped but still has a knock that's not constant
Mine just started day before yesterday exact same sound
It makes that sound right when I first start it up will not stop till I shut you off

of all the years ive had this suv ive heard many sounds and am certainly positive its the the tranny thats going out. i recommend you get the diagnosis done as soon as possible so you can prepare yourself for a big fix

sure anytime, don't wait last minute like i did, my gears were slipped so far that i couldn't shift into reverse in the middle of the road. best of luck
That's a cracked flywheel or rod bearings going.
MINE MAKES THIS SOUND, BUT ONLY WHEN HOT. WHEN COLD THERE'S NO SOUND AT ALL

Slipping transmission parts, meaning the transmission was going fall apart.

@@elijiahpascual6564 i dont remember anymore but it was a few grand, $2k-3k.
And that was just luck, it actually cost way more on average because of labor and part costs
