DIY Toy Bomb Action Figure - Custom Build from a little green ball

- I found a little green ball on an evening walk and knew I had to make a toy bomb action figure out of it! This DIY bomb action figure was really fun and came together pretty easily. With some Mickey hands, a random pair of boots and a few custom parts I think this Toy Bomb turned out pretty cool. It reminds me a little of the Mario Bomb Bob-Ombs.
I have titled this build "Don't Play With Fire"
I hope you enjoy this custom DIY Build!
Thanks for visiting DR Toys, have a great one!

This Bomb Bot is really cute, not sure how I missed this one but glad I got to see it today! I think I really like the simplicity of it. He looks like a HAPPY Bomb Bot, not all depressed or anything, just comfortable with who he is. 😉
Bob omb is what came to mind while looking at this guy
Yeah, i wasn't going for that necessarily but when I was finished I thought the same exact thing. 😃
I like how you took some inspiration from the Bob-ombs from Super Mario for the eyes. Nicely done.
100%, I love the Bob-ombs character! 😀
Thanks.
That’s terrific. Totally looks like it’s FROM something. Like a cartoon or video game. Love the design. Looks like a cool toy. Be neat on a t-shirt. Just a solid cool, graphic design.
That’s a fun idea! 😃
Thats a fun little project with a great end result
Thanks so much!
It turned out so cool. I love the interchangeable match. The video itself is really well done. Your voice over is great and the editing is terrific!
Thank you so much!
haha this is awesome! you did it again Doc!
Glad you liked it!
I wish you would've painted over some of the detail in the shoes in white again. But other than that the bomb looks awesome!
I went back and forth on that and wasn't sure... I think I will go in and do a light drybrush of white. Thanks! 😃
Outstanding work, another amazing piece of art. I would be proud to have that in my display!
Thank you very much!
Very nice! What clean build! It reminds me of a Mario character.
Thanks! Yeah, I thought the same thing once I finished him... : )
Looks like a Bob-omb from super Mario.
Great little bomb toy/bot build! I love the idea of using hot glue to make the flaming match. I do think he needs a big toothy grin though and maybe some white shoelaces to balance him out. The end result was awesome, I love it! Only problem is now I am looking around for a ball to make my own. 😀
Great stuff, thanks for sharing, and keep on keeping on!!
😃Thanks! I went back and forth on the painting the shoelaces and wasn't sure... I think I will go in and do a light drybrush of white. Cheers.
I saw your community post/update on this and WOW! Detailing the boots into Doc Martin's was brilliant! I was just thinking the laces, but this is so much better. I wasn't even aware there was this much detail before. Awesome job sir! 👍👍
Awesome build Doc, all that work on the seam line was worth it. Definitely have to try making flames with hot glue and thanks so much for the shout out. 😁👍
You bet😃
This was aweaome Dr, thanks for letting us know about Andy. I just checked his channel, loved his stuff, so sub'd to him as well. Will go watch his videos shortly.
Great stuff, thanks for sharing, and keep on keeping on!!
This was so fun! Reminds me of the World Industries skateboard art
Oh yeah, I forgot all about that! Awesome!!!
Dude I LOVE this!! Sooooo cool. I would buy that thing in a heart beat.
Also, I feel your pain.... that's one of the worst things when you peel the tape off and take the paint with it. Like you said, even after you touch it up YOU can still see the flaw and its soul crushing. My wife always tells me "only you can see it, let it go". But..I just can't...
Looks great though.
Thanks!
Always a good watch. You da BOMB!!! Lol😂
😂 thanks
Very cool little project, he is nifty. Kudos for the tongs lol lol lol. I think the only thing missing is maybe the laces on the shoes would make him pop just a tiny bit more , but either way I like it. again Very Cool. Keep them coming. Plus I like the two different matches great idea.
Good call! I went back and forth on that and wasn't sure... I think I will go in and do a light drybrush of white. Thanks! 😃
@@DRToysCreations I really think it would pop with the laces white and the more I look at it I also think that the band around the shoes at the top might look good in red just to match the match, again that is just a thought. You really come up with some cool ideas. This one really put a smile on my face.
It looks amazing!
Thanks!
This was a neat project.
The character looks like a 1930s rubberhose character.
Somethings I noticed that might help in future projects.
If I had to guess why the paint pealed its because the foundation paint did not absorb into your base, it sat on it and that's why it got pulled. What might have worked is to have done a thin clear coat let it cure then then the eyes then clear coat again.
Given you said air came out of ball its likely it was a slush cast to make it hollow so if you want a filler in the future you could make a hole, tape off the surrounding area and use a expanding foam to fill it up so it's got a bit of solidity for it.
That’s a great tip. Thanks.😃
Love it. Reminds me very much of Jason Freeny’s Fire Bomb Stealth, the additional arms and match make it cool.
Thanks!
"BOOM!"
I can't stop coming back to this one. I honestly think it's my favorite thing you've made. Great job, dude!
Wow, thanks!
Can't wait 😁😁😁
Hope you enjoy it!
Hey Doc, try Dupli-color Plastic Adhesion Promoter. It’s a rattle can product you spray onto plastic before you paint. It helps prevent the heartache of tear away.
Great tip! I will definitely look into that. Thanks.
This is so cool
Thanks.
Awesome! Nice job and soooo effective.
Thanks!
Reminds me of the bomb oms from super Mario 64 nice!!
I definitely looked at those to get some inspiration! 😄
I subscribed after seeing that made, 👏👏👏👏
Thanks, I really appreciate that!
great build
Thanks!
I have to copy this idea!!! I love it!!!
Do it!!! it's a great addition to any collection! : )
Just got around to watching but I saw it in community. Love the doc martens in the update. I already said that in another comment. As always thanks for the video. Thanks for being you. Greycloud The Gift-giving Scribe
Awesome, thank you!
This is a really fun, imaginative piece! The problem with the peeling paint is 100% due to the nature of that kind of plastic. I've had the identical problem many times, no matter how careful I am, because that plastic just refuses to hold onto paint. It still turned out really well, all the same. I like it so much that I may try it out myself. The only thing I'd do differently is a couple of pupils in the eyes, looking up at the match ;-)
Awesome! Yeah I went back and forth on what I should do for the eyes. I like the idea of looking at the match! Thanks for watching!
Very funny project! :) Congrats!
Thank you! 😃
Love the "come at me, bro" kinda pose.
😃Thanks
Great video! I can't help but think what your going to do with that brain model!!!!
You and me both! I found it at the thrift store and new someday I'll have some use for it. 😂
Very cool.
Thanks!
I love your videos I was watching it while going to sleep and had just dozed of when you screamed and scared the shit out of me lol love your vids keep doing what your doing
😂 Sorry about that... but that's pretty funny!!! 🙏
That is absolutely incredible! Thanks for sharing this, it was really a neat tutorial.
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching!
awesome job
Thank you! Cheers!
I love how you used the hot glue to make the flame. Super cool! 🙌🏻
Thank you! 😊
Very cool 👍🏁
Thanks.😃
Such a cute figure! I love how the bomb droid turned out! Did you name them?
Thanks, sometimes I do... Never came up with a name for this guy. : )
you deserve more views
Thanks, I appreciate that! Now if I could just get UA-cam on board! LOL
👍, do toy bomb figures have more than one life If they accidentally light themselves on fire? Great video.
Totally! Someone said I should do the flame on the wick as well! I love that idea!
What a cool project! Thanks for sharing and thanks for being so inspirational. What is the primer that you use?
Thanks! I'm just using a RustOleum rattle can primer... nothing fancy. 😃
Sick dude!
Thanks.
Wow
That resonates a bit with what I've been thinking since yesterday. I have a lot (I guess about 20) balls from deodorant (or whatever you call this thing in english). and I thought it would be nice to make kinda bombs of them and put in the hands of a robot. But for now I don't have anything in my mind except the hand, holding a ball.
I love that you are collecting the balls from deodorant containers! I love the idea of little bombs, I have had little parts for months or years and had no clue what to do with them ten all of the sudden one day boom, it totally hit ya!
That looks amazing!!. I would use your hot glue and make a wick with a flame on the end of it as well. So you can swap it out like the match if you want.
Oh, that's a great idea. Thanks!
Yo what up DRT!! That looks so sick! You should make a mold out of that and make A Bomber Army and sell them $$🤑👍.. Just got back from work / vacation. Not really it was mostly work 👎.. So I see you got some New videos. I got a lot of videos to catch up on! 👍
Glad to be on your list of fun things to do when you got back! 😃 Thanks so much for watching!
yeES
😃
Amazing 🤘🏼 love it. It was meant to be since you found that ball outta nowhere 🤣
Yes it was! Thanks for watching!
Nintendo lawsuit incoming looool
Great build
😂
Awesome
Thanks
this is by far my favorite creation you've made, i love it
Yay! Thank you!
Very awesome. I would like to know how could I do this but make the match light up with an LED?
interesting idea... The hot glue is kinda translucent so you may be able to put the glue down over an LED.
Love it :-)
Thanks! 😊
Yo this look so cool
Would you ever try to recreate this with the Tamashi Nations Pacman Figure?
Do you mean make a PacMan figure out of junk like this or make a toy bomb out of the Tamashi Nations Pacman Figure? I make most of my stuff out of thrift store or yard sale finds or junk/packaging laying around the house.
@@DRToysCreations I meant make the toy bomb out of the PacMan figure but you don't have to. I got this video through my recommendations so I was not familiar with what you do; my first hint should have been you were making an action figure out of a random ball you found. Either way, cool video and nice action figure.
💣
😂🙏
How about a blacklight reactive / glow in the dark version? Remember, everything glow in the dark is reactive, but not every reactive is glow in the dark.
😂I love that!!!
Thank now I can make a king bomb omb
Figure
You're welcome!
