- I had an Ice Breaker Mints container and a cool little Final Faction Dollar Store toy and thought it would be fun to do a quick custom scratch build. I took a mint container along wit some tea lights and some Dollar Tree Final Faction droid parts and built a pretty cool scratch build Droid.
I hope you enjoy this custom toy!
Thanks for visiting DR Toys, have a great one!

This build is truly as cool as ice.
😂 Thanks!
Prepainted: This looks great. Painted: This looks awesome. Lights on: EPIC!!!
Thanks! 😃🙏
I like the hightops, it makes the character have a personality just by looking at it.
Awesome, thanks
I love your scratchbuilds/trashbashes, and your presentation. You are the Bob Ross of model-building!
I love that! 😂 That's a hilarious and awesome complement all rolled into one! Thanks!
Years ago now a lot of the guys on the Alphadrome web site for robots did a dollar store build contest, it was great fun seeing all the robots built from nothing but dollar store crap. Thank you for sharing your build with us.
WOW!!! You have ton's of robot stuff, amazing!!!
Thanks for watching!
I dig the skinny legs man, great contrast in forms between the the twig legs and the body biscuit!
Thanks a bunch!
you should do a video expanding the dollar store final faction rosters. this could be their maintenance dried
The small legs are definately better. The whole mechanic style droid is really cool, awesome job.Love your videos!!
Thanks.
Love me a good scratch build. It's one of those things I started getting into when the pandemic hit, making spaceships and things. Got too busy to keep up with it, but hopefully I can get started again soon.
Right on!
The glow effect is awesome!
Thanks!
Nice, friendly wee bot. The legs turned out awseome, I enjoyed watching you figure it out. For an extra detail I would have put some pistons behind the knee. Great work Doc. 😎
Cool, thanks
Fresh! Makes me want to start kit-bashing.
DO IT!!! 😃👍
Interesting little build. I almost didn't like the legs but they sort of grow on you. I can see it as a alien robot chasing chickens around trying to communicate with them! Lol
😂 I Love it! Thanks!
I liked the thick legs best but both are cool. I like the choice to go with the white paint.
Thanks. I like to weather my bots because you can hide a lot of sins but it's fun to challenge myself you do a clean bot every now and then!
I really enjoy your just enjoying the build attitude.
This was a fun one that had me laughing a few times as I was building it because it's just silly!!! Thanks for watching!
I can even imagine it charging a death blue lasser blast from the "eye"...I like it!
😃 Thanks!
@@DRToysCreations >^w^
I love the end result! One of the things I really like about your videos is how you show the organic, trial and error way of making scratch builds like this. It's a big part of what I love about this kind of model making myself, and very satisfying when things finally "click".
What a lot of people dont realize is the amount of time I just sit and stare at a project thinking how in the heck am I gonna do this! But yeah, when it clicks it's so rewarding! Thanks for watching!
@@DRToysCreations Me too. Staring at things, and also going to bed thinking about them, are important parts of the process :-)
except I just lay in bed and can't stop thinking about it... 😂
Hey friend is impressive your talent is amazing. Greetings
Thank you very much
What kind of a human says greetings at the end????
i love this idea, just imagining this being fired out of a disc launcher with all the legs and arms
folded up.....amazing !!! Great Job :)
That would be cool😂
Awesome build! I prefer the long legs over the short ones. To me the long legs give the droid more character. The shot of it lit up the end of video was awesome the blue LED was such a great idea.
I'm not great with LEDs but getting better... This one turned our cool. 😀
Just watched Batteries not Included again for the first time in a long time. I've always loved robots and stuff and your channel is absolutely inspiring. So much fun! Thanks for sharing!
Cool, thanks! I haven't seen that in like 30 years! I need to watch it again...
The "Hole" thing is craftastic
😅
Droid builds are the best! Always so inspirational. Maybe next time, include some footage of some of the other droids along side the new one, just to see the comparison. Turned out great man, thanks for all the inspiration
Good idea!
awesome job on this droid
Thanks!
I think his little SpongeBob legs are cute! They definitely make the robot feel more friendly - As you had envisioned. Great job! 🙌🏻😊
Thank you 🤗
I personally like the skinnier legs! Beautiful work as always!
Awesome! Thank you!
The legs remind me of a kildeer. Love em
I can totally see that. Thanks. 😃
Very cool! It looks great in the light and in the dark footage! Thank you! Lisa
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching! 😃
Awesome build!
Thanks!
👍👌🤘🙏 thank you for showing you can create your own figure! Great ideas! Love it!
Glad you like it!
It reminds me of Toriyama's mechanic designs.
Thanks! Toriyama is an incredible artist!!!
You're rly one of the best toy makers when it comes to skill and electronics and cost effectiveness I've ever seen
Wow, thanks! I really appreciate that!
Alright I need to build a droid now. Usually I scratch build diorama or terrain scatter for 3.75 figures out of junk. Great job. I really enjoy your vids.
Cool, thanks. Do it! 😃
Awesome Build! Love your scratch building Videos
Thanks a bunch!
DR, love your videos! You have turned me into a toy nerd. I finished my second scratch built robot today thanks to inspiration from your videos. The legs on this one turned out great but my favorite part is the light. Keep up the great work and keep the videos coming.
That is awesome! Keep it up! 😀👍
This video makes me want to go to the dollar store and grab some stuff. 😄👍🏾
YES!!!
Awesome build. Keep them coming.
Thanks, will do!
This is my favorite build of yours yet
Thanks.
i sometimes look at things and see how they could become characters, but you sir are on another level. one thing that i have always thought would make great kitbashing is a deodorant container. pop of the wheel on it already looks like two feet.
There's cool stuff all around us if we're looking for it! 😃 I like the deodorant idea!
I love this kind of stuff.
😃👍
I love him! The body reminds me of a crab somehow
I can see that! 😂
I love your videos, this genuinely made my day so much better
You are so kind
Love these scratch builds
Thanks so much!
Dude...you are super duper creative man..love it.....love it....you rock
Thank you very much!
It reminds me of the robot on Star Wars Force Awakens.
Yeah, there is a little Star Wars vibe! 😀
Soooo cool!!!
Thanks!
Excellent!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome job!!!
Thanks!!
Great inspiration. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Cool. Very cool.
Thanks!
So good!
Thanks!
Love your energy and enthusiasm! This quickly became one of my fav channels!
Wow, thank you!😃🙏
I need to do this sometime it looks amazing
DO IT!!! 😃👍
Nice one!
Thanks!
It looks fantastic and I like your original design! I like the droids you build as they are very unique and just plain cool. Thanks for sharing this and the video of the lighted droid looked good.
Thank you very much!
Really cool. I’m gonna make a bunch of these over the summer with my kiddos
Awesome! I love to hear things like this!
Send me pics on my Instagram account if you think about it. I would love to see!
great work really inspiring
Thanks a lot!
This one of too cute!
😍 Thanks
Awesome Job 👍
Thanks 😁
AMAZING. as always
I love this so much
I'm glad you like it😀👍
This Robot is so cool!!!! Im not sure if he would be a big bot or a small bot. I feel like he would be big, Maybe used for laser cutting metal under water.
I always thought of him tall.
Outstanding
Thanks
Such a cool video I love this sort of customs
Thanks so much!
Hi Dave, thanks for another amazing looking robot.
Don't have those mints here in the UK but the design is something I want to copy.
I think the legs are great and I like how the whole body glows blue. You are also going to get me into lighting my builds.
Thanks! Lighting is a slippery slope... you end up wanting to light everything! 😂
Excellent work. I like watching your videos. Helps me come up with ideas for some builds. It helps too to get me through days I am just feeling rough. Especially during these times. Thanks
Thanks! Glad to help.
Great build. Not a fan of the legs, but not sure what i would change, maybe a little shorter.
But a cool build none the less.
To me I thought it was funnier with the longer legs, it ended up kinda like the awkward tall teenager bot! 😂
Thanks for watching!
@@DRToysCreations now you put it that way I do see it.
You are inspiring.
Thanks. That's one of my main goals for my channel. 😃 Happy to hear that!
I think you did a great job. Looks awesome. all you need is to add on the Drone Landing Zone on it's top, with a bunch of drones on it's head.
That would be cool!😂
Another awesome robot! Your videos get me really inspired to creat stuff!
That's awesome! Thanks for watching!
That's so cooool
Thanks!
I.love your Dermal I have 2 cheapys
Yeah, the cordless one is pretty nice
Try Gorrilia Hot Glue .
Great for builds like this
I'll have to look for some!
I have been really enjoying your videos!! Very inspiring! Keep up the great work! Thank you!!
Thank you! Will do!
Nice toy, Dr ! ;)
Thank you
dope!!!
Thanks!
I totally love these buddy. great stuff :D
Glad to hear it! Thanks. 😀
super - nice video,- waiting for more
More to come! 😃 Thanks.
I love your videos! they relax me a lot! and you're great at making droids! It would be great a video where you explain the whole history of this world where there are all the robots you create!
Keep It up!
Thanks for the idea! I should think about more of a story for these droids... as of now it just me making whatever comes out of my head! 😂
I always find it funny when you use Gunpla parts.
Like, most of what you use is dollar store toys or recycled plastic bits that otherwise would go to the trash can. Can't get cheaper than that.
And then I see you using the thighs of a HG Gundam AGE-1 Spallow which tends to be a hella rare kit most of the times which goes >20-30€ for most of the time until Bandai decides to reprint it.
Funnily enough this reminds me of a build I did using a Kinder Egg toy capsule and spare Gunpla parts. Wish I could show it to you, although I don't know how could that be done.
Anyways, friggin love your channel and your imagination, always making me wishful proper dollar stores were a thing in my land >.>
So to be fair I found the Gundam at a yard sale for .25 cent! 😂 A kid had started it and lost a few parts so it make for great kitbashig!
You can always email me @ drtoys@yakstub.com
Thanks for watching.
@@DRToysCreations Oh ye recall you've mentioned it along a RG Destiny Gundam in some older video. Quite a gigantic jackpot.
I'll send you photos of my kinder drone :>
(also hope that you don't get undesired emails from random trolls as collateral consequence >.>)
@@Blazinter I'm left with unhealthy curiosity. I wanna see it and also know what DR said about it >.
@@tasiopiro8962 Unfortunately DR never responded to my email, which makes me a bit bummed, but he isn't in any obligation or something. Maybe I ended up in his spam folder automatically or something anyways.
Didn't post here because youtube comments tends to spam-filter urls, but I'll try imgur.com/gallery/g7ex40J
@@Blazinter Wew that looks cool. I can distinguish that GN Drive there. Thank you and cheers!
Shame DR didn't see it though
Haha I saw 3104 and was thinking "That looks like the word HOLE - I should leave a comment to let you k ow!"... Then about 10 seconds later, you said the same thing! Haha
😂😂😂
This thing looks so wild like a informations bot just randomly walking around a city or village and people can go up to it and ask it a question or plug a drive into it and do a search on it for news and information.
I love that!
Build a really big car out of a bottle make it look futuristic
Wow would’ve never thought of that your creativity amazes me I’m subbing you are cool dude
Thanks for the sub!
VERY GOOD
Thanks
Very nice🤖👍
Thanks for the awesome videos! You actually were one of the people that inspired me to make My my first kitbashing video over on my channel. Specially I like how I’ve seen you use the final faction dollar tree toys. I’ll be attempting my first droid build in a few weeks on my channel at well! Thanks again
Awesome, that's so great to hear!!!
I'll check it out!
@@DRToysCreations thanks! I think I might try to make a Pac-Man akin to yours as well but non robotic
👍
Thanks!
i always like seeing chicken legs and starwars chicken style walkers and tank mechs, watching your vids has made me subconsiously start to collect cool little plastic garbage pieces from containers im about to throw out, like 1L boxes of juice ill take the lids off of those for robot feet and whatnot, and started making my own Toilet Paper Roll Robots that have that 3A World War Robots feel to them love your content
That's so fun to hear! Keep it up!
That's a cool trash bash. I used the same container last year to make a six legged walker tank.
I just posted a 3 part dollartree build with the final faction weapons packs.
Very cool, I check it out!
Very cool. Love the projects with clear plastic. So, you decided to not have circuit stuff under the blue/clear plastic? It looks great all lit up.
I wasn’t sure if it would be to much light coming through if I didn’t paint it… If I use that container again I might try something else.
Thanks
I love how HOLE came out! you're going to have one huge robot army after a while :) should make a doctor toys action figure overlord haha!
😂 Yeah, my room here is filling up!
Dame Doc your like Me I save this In Patic Boxes
😂 I have so many parts, I need to get a little more organized!!!
Hoi hoi. Another great build again. My daughter and I tried this build but we can’t make it look as good as yours. I’m trying to articulate them, you don’t really do that, but if you could, try it on the next build - that’s a bit of a challenge for you!😅 Also you should have a go at making that spider thing from your sketch too, it looks absolutely amazing! Keep them coming :)
Articulation is definitely on my list! To be honest I still really struggle with arms and legs in general, once I figure out how to make them then hopefully I can get them to move.😂
Challenge accepted! 😃👍
Thanks for the kind words!
@@DRToysCreations I’m really looking forward to seeing your video now!
Wow! Awesome work! I was wondering what equipment you are making the decals on? I’ve never seen anything like it before. Thanks!
It's a small Brothers Scan N Cut (kinda like a Cricut) Vinyl Cutter. I found it at a yard sale! 😀
Bro... The potential for a "batteries not included" Droid/Alien from the movie, come on!
😃 That's such a good movie!
Beefy legs didnt fit at all imo, I much prefer the direction you took. Now I want one in a larger scale that chills on my back/shoulder like BD1 in Fallen Order. Awesome little droid.
That's my final thought on it as well. This droid totally feels like he could chill on your shoulder! 😂
I make robots out of vintage junk and spare parts but I've also been tinkering with doing more with plastic. What glue do you use for your incredible creations?
Funny you should ask... I have a video coming out 12/19 at 8AM MST talking about that. Check it out if you get a chance.
@@DRToysCreations Will do, thanks!
Fun build! What are you using for your vinyl?
I have a brothers Scan N Cut and I just use the cheap in house Hobby Lobby brand "Paper Studios". it was 50% off. 😃
@@DRToysCreations Those 50% off coupons are GOLD!
It looks like a gundam or a droid from star wars
Thanks.
@@DRToysCreations your welcome
Can you make a gonk droid?
That actually sounds fun! That will definitely go on my list. Thanks!
I would like to see how you do it,thank you!
