This sounds the way a forest looks in winter: stark and lovely, the richness of the bare bones of the wilderness. It gets right inside my ribs and makes me restless.
These would fit in so many Wild West movies and shows. A lone gunsmith with a bloody past tries to stay in the straight and narrow, only to be haunted by his past and hunted by scores that need settling. A poncho flowing in the wind as a long steed gallops into the sunset.
I'm still struggeling with realizing that I will never see Chester Bennington and Linkin Park on stage again 😢 Thank you guys for tributing to Linkin Park with this masterpiece! ❤
Not even 20 seconds in the video and I'm forced to hit the like button, there's so much in there. The outfits, the background (location), instrument selection and your acting. It's a pleasure to watch your videos guys, outstanding job. You reflect your passion to us. YOU HAVE A PONCHO
Honestly, hugely underrated song of Linkin Park's. A lot of folks just write off everything that came after Hybrid Theory, but my favourite album of theirs is Minutes to Midnight. Perfect album. Put it on, zero skips.
I also think that it being the theme song for one of the Transformers movies didn't help because it then got overplayed to pieces and there was like no escape from the song.
@@dark_neverland It wasn't quite as inescapable as New Divide, but I don't hate that one, either. I was just glad a band I liked was getting some airtime. If I had to hear something eight times a day at work, I preferred it be New Divide than I Got a Feeling.
This is why I say we live in glorious times! Artist and people like this would probably never reach global without internet. Here I am in Sweden and repeating this amazing cover over and over again. Thank you boys, like, subscribed and shared 😍
In this farewell There's no blood, there's no alibi 'Cause I've drawn regret From the truth of a thousand lies So let mercy come and wash away What I've done I'll face myself To cross out what I've become Erase myself And let go of what I've done Put to rest What you thought of me While I clean this slate With the hands of uncertainty So let mercy come and wash away What I've done I'll face myself To cross out what I've become Erase myself And let go of what I've done For what I've done I start again And whatever pain may come Today this ends I'm forgiving What I've done I'll face myself To cross out what I've become Erase myself And let go of what I've done What I've done (Na-na, na, na, na-na, na, na) (Na-na, na, na, na-na, na, na) Forgiving what I've done (Na-na, na, na, na-na, na, na) (Na-na, na, na, na-na, na)
What an absolutely beautiful piece to honor the person that wrote this,,,, is beautifully sudden and you couldn't be more right I mean you couldn't put the words to the song better
This came out so good. The arrangement was perfect and your vocals kept true to the original while still going for a more subdued and saddened tone that the instrumentation conveyed. My hat's off to you on this one. It is some of your best work. I added it to my Dungeons & Dragons music playlist to play in the background as my friends and I play tabletop fantasy RPGs and my general music list.
I always find myself singing along to these covers, they feel so genuine and true to the original even in completely different genres. Great work, pals!
Dave, Dude, your Voice! So much work! All the feels! And the composition, the respect you treat this with... You two still make me cry in the best ways possible after years
great job guys... clearly you can hear the original , you grasped the essence of the song and made it your own. beautifully arranged and well preformed.
The Good, The Bad and the Ugly but it came out in 2007 For real I love this arrangement, especially the first chorus, with that little melody line on guitar, chef's kiss
I really enjoyed the collaboration of genres in this take on "What I've Done". Felt like there was some Oriental style happening in there with the banjo and melodic style singing and guitar playing. Sounded great all put together like that.
Love what you've done w/ the song; that said major props to Linkin Park as I've heard about a half dozen genre covers of their various songs and they always come across as powerful
Thank you for your wonderful version of the song! This is a very fond memory of Chester Bennington for me. Right now, in this turbulent time of world events, we need contemplative music that makes you think.

Dang, that is worth quoting. Beautifully worded.
Thanks!

damn, Dave gave me chills with those pure tones!
That caught me off guard!
We all remember when this played at the end of the Transformers (1807) stage play.
I'd watch a Hearts of Steel movie with this theme.

Double oh wow because of clones. And triple because of mandolin. You always do great job with Linkin Park songs.
This is perfect. It matches the style and the facts on the table.
I'm still struggeling with realizing that I will never see Chester Bennington and Linkin Park on stage again 😢
Thank you guys for tributing to Linkin Park with this masterpiece! ❤
I like that you put in some sillyness without disrespecting the original.
I had to come back this is just absolutely haunting and Awakening at the same time...

Took me almost 50 seconds. And I was very sceptical.
Same
If anyone knows were to get ponchos like that, I'll take 12.

Numb is underrated? it has almost 2B views, you blind bruh?
@@JackBryan24 its not Numb !!
Couldn't believe my ears!!! Never thought folk music can be that effective for this song.
This style of music makes the text seem even more intense to me. The song is a treat.

I love it, so touching. Thank you for this unexpected X-Mas present.
In this farewell
There's no blood, there's no alibi
'Cause I've drawn regret
From the truth of a thousand lies
So let mercy come and wash away
What I've done
I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done
Put to rest
What you thought of me
While I clean this slate
With the hands of uncertainty
So let mercy come and wash away
What I've done
I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done
For what I've done
I start again
And whatever pain may come
Today this ends
I'm forgiving
What I've done
I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done
What I've done
(Na-na, na, na, na-na, na, na)
(Na-na, na, na, na-na, na, na)
Forgiving what I've done
(Na-na, na, na, na-na, na, na)

Oh man when the voices come in! Low slow and smooth…. Beautiful!
The warmth of those harmonies!! Amazing work!
Idk how to put together how satisfied I am from the sounds to the context of the lyrics. Ya'll nailed this mix of genres perfectly
It always cracks me up when you guys manage to actually improve on the originals.
Well now....this is much more beautiful than I thought possible. Awesome job!!!
The intro reminds me of silent hill 1 OST. Great work guys!
Same!
It really does funny enough I love both tracks

Linkin park and folk??? _I crave for more_
Edit. The instrumental part was illegally nice
Linkin Folk?
Folkin Park?
Not sure, but I think the first one might be a little more acceptable.

This is great. What I like best is that it is its own take while staying very true to the original.

The absolute full body chills I got when you started to sing😳 I love this. I know chester would be so proud💜💙
great job guys... clearly you can hear the original , you grasped the essence of the song and made it your own. beautifully arranged and well preformed.
The folk/bluegrass sound gives the opening melody a particularly mournful, dirge-like quality. A funeral procession of and for one person.
Great collab with yourselves! :D
I wish Chester Bennington still alive to witness this beautiful re-creation ❤️

I came home cold and drenched from the rain, and after hot chocolate failed, this warmed me. Thank you.
