That’s crazy I was watching Ali A when I was 10/11 aswell but that was way back in 2011 I stopped watching once he became a clickbait fake happy personality UA-camr though
A common lesson from these videos is this: Either you can be a good UA-camr with steady growth, or a scummy one with a huge boom in popularity, but that will later end with downfall.
UA-cam is still a means to an end I’m not sure who old you lot are but after watching this dude Ninja and Ali a video it’s safe to say anyone who hates them are just plain stupid. Why? Who cares if u click bait it’s that difference between 15mil or 50. The difference between how you children or your grandchildren will live. Put you self in his shoes, you guys mean nothing to him and it should be like that unfortunately money trumps almost everything.
I used to watch him back in the early 2010s and I remember how much I used to enjoy his content. I never liked Fortnite so I stopped watching after he started uploading those videos but it honestly sucks to see what he's become. He's now one of the most soulless clickbaity UA-camrs I've ever seen.
How? He plays a game he enjoys. He isn't toxic, he is very positive and outgoing in his videos. Just because he makes content on a game you don't like doesn't make him souless. You are a minioraty as peak Fortnite is way more popular than peak cod.
At least Fortnite has alway had developers cares about improving the experince for their plays. Call of Duty is probally the scummist more scamer fransise I've ever seen. They literally charge $140 NZD a year for a new title which is now just become reskins of the previous games whereas Fortnite is free.
I’m not really hating Ali-a for one reason, I just think of the times when he has made me happy and showed us a new feature to what was once an amazing game.
Yup, can’t beat having genuine fun and jokes with a group of friends. He also switches up his games, he’s played so many games throughout the years, with some core games as well (gmod, GTA…). Basically his content is fresh, Ali A mostly plays fortnite, and he doesn’t even stand out in that community like he used to in CoD. Vanoss and Ali A couldn’t be more different content creators. Ali A just makes boring videos talking about things, Vanoss’ content has value and rewatchability
Ali-A is UA-cam’s dream creator really, squeaky clean reputation, little to no controversy and clickbait cannot really be called controversial as it is really the norm on UA-cam or it was at his peak, he is sponsor friendly and works hard, I do feel bad that he isn’t doing as well as he was but that’s the game, only the very best creators can sustain it forever. He’s great but made a few decisions with his content which were great in the short term but not long term
@@Anxmaly666 I've experienced this first hand, I made content similar to the caretaker's and as soon as their content was no longer a meme my viewership tanked.
Ikr? Around 7:00 -ish;I agree so much regarding the age groups and that there’s not necessarily a downfall, but people just grow up. Last time I watched Ali A was Black Ops 2 days when I was around 16-17…since, I didn’t even know he still made content to be honest. Great video as always!
I just can’t stop laughing at the fact that Epic Games really did release all of those clickbait title skins it’s just so amusing to me that if he made those videos now they would’ve never even been CLICKBAIT 😂😂😂
Hey, do a vid on Dantdm! It's rlly interesting how he hasn't fallen out of relevancy even tho he uploads less now, and has been doing this for as long as stampy and ali.
I used to watch his videos back during the MW2 era and stopped near the end of Black Ops 2. I still remember the first video when he did a face reveal. I enjoyed watching his videos, especially the zombie eastereggs during BO1 and BO2. It's sad to see a UA-camr that I once enjoyed watching is now willing to go so low for clicks.
@@Tvtardy True, I grew up. But its still sad to see a UA-camr that I once enjoyed watching steep to such a low level. I understand why he is doing this, Its because this type of content gives him tons of money, but its still sad.
@@Tvtardy Im talking about the MW2 to BO2 times. He puts out completely different content now obviously. What Im saying, is that he is completely different from what he used to be. He wasn't over the top, click baiting person that tried to get children to view his videos. He used to be a serious Call of Duty UA-camr. Im not saying that he should go back to COD, what I'm saying is that he as a person/UA-camr, is completely different from what he used to be. Back then, he used to put out quality content, now he is just trying to get children to click on his videos so that he gets money.
9:30 right on the money. I’m ashamed to say that even though I’d heard of him, I hadn’t watched any of his videos until 4 months ago. One night (despite the fact that I had homework), I spent the entire night watching his vids because seeing one had already gotten me hooked
The most basic way I can describe his downfall and why I stopped watching is: He stopped being himself, and he chased views/money. I understand views/money are important in the endgame...but there are good and bad ways to obtain that. He also felt more of himself back in the COD days. I'm mixed on saying he betrayed the COD player base (which I'd consider myself a part of), since if he found a new game that he enjoys more, and gets more views...why not? But I do also see where people are coming from when they feel betrayed. Again...I'm mixed on the matter. But also, on the topic of being himself...he seemed to show anger, rage, sadness, hype, and all sorts of emotions back then and seemed like a guy who was ACTUALLY happy to do what he's doing, but now...he feels like a family-friendly robot. Last but not least...he's still doing really bad clickbait TO THIS DAY. Very sad since his old videos are great, and hell...I still watch his old content/videos. But he's gone, and I can only hope that someday he comes back...but I'm not holding my breath
I started to watching him when he played COD BO2 zombies. I saw almost all the walkthrough of COD campaign. Watching him playing COD Multiplayer and seeing him barely die in every match was amazing. I was really happy and enjoyed watching him play. When he moved to Fortnite i knew he just did it for trends and i don't blame him, but the problem was the clickbait and the thumbnails. Damn i miss these good old days
I did enjoy Ali-A's old CoD videos back in the early days. He was fun to watch and pleasant. Although I stopped playing CoD around 2015 and I didn't think about him till I heard about his rise as a Fortnite channel and hated how stupid his manipulative his videos were. He deserves nothing.
@@jesussandoval2322 I remember his pokemon ark videos those were actually really fun and awesome to watch but sadly it had to come to an end eventually
Man ali-a has a special place in my heart, watched him from childhood got to meet him in person was such a shame he went to clickbait but if it get him views who am I to hate. Just remembered about his videos with Frank the robot by god those were good days
I never heard or watched him. But I would be pissed off if you clickbait people. That’s for anyone really. But switching off to play something different is fine. I get it. I wasn’t a huge fan of Fortnite. But I liked the marvel stuff. That was cool. Or having a fun group or duo to watch.
In my opinion this whole downfall started when he got on the Minecraft wave back in the day, thats what first attracted those younger audiences. I remember back in his early days with his emo hair when buddy was actually focused on those cod updates. Those were the days when whiteboy7thst and zzirgrizz were still dominating the gaming scene.
It's not really a downfall, he just moved on. All the old/OG CoD channels that didn't move on to new games or content with a new audience are either dead or barely pulling a few thousand views per video. Unfortunately, if you don't adapt you get left behind. Where would Ali-A be if he'd continued only doing CoD content the past 3/4 years? I imagine a much worse position than he is in now.
@@itsmattzed yh his general audience is aimed towards people who dislike fortnite which makes his videos entertaining to watch I remember seeing a poll on youtube which Noahsnoah made about how many of his veiwers still play fortnite and the poll was 60% play fortnite and 40% percent dont play fortnite which is quite a lot of his viewers that have quit the game
To anyone who wants to know the name of the song in the intro: Requiem in D Minor, K. 626:3. Sequentia: Lacrimosa Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart It's a classic
I've also watched the videos about the fall of Stampy and the fall of PopularMMOs, all 3 people were youtubers that were part of my childhood, the difference was that I felt sad for Stampy and Pat but Ali-A did this to himself
9:24 i love this point i can still go back and watch random videos from 5 years ago from random creators and really enjoy them but with random informative videos theres literally no point.
The thing which I really like your channel more than other commentary channels is your honesty and your opinion and you don’t care if you get haters for a specific video so I really respect you for that
11:34 i had completely forgotten about Muselk so when i saw that i went to check what he had been doing and the first thing i saw was "i won while afk 100% glitch" man i miss the old days :/
I wish I didn’t watch him in my childhood. It really leaves a scar on it for me Well I will say his season 1-2 Fortnite videos were pretty entertaining, he started falling off in Season 4. I personally stopped watching him in like Season 7 because his videos just got repetitive
Fun fact: AliA had a tv show on cbbc (a kids TV channel in the UK). Basically what happened in it was that kids would give their parents cars to the ‘team’ and they would be customised/repaired. Idk how it did but i enjoyed it while it was on. This was around when he blew up with fortnite and everyone still liked him. As far as I know, there was only one series of the tv show and I’ve never seen anyone talk about it. So yeah there you go.
Honestly I am a fan of him for his videos and for him being a cracked controller player so honestly I find this video pretty reasonable and informative
Tbh, I like his energy towards everything. He was just using it in the wrong way. His videos are a slight bit better than they used to be, mainly he makes videos on the Fortnite reddit so it’s not just completely misleading.
yo your videos are really helping me on a psychological level. The input you give on situations like Ali-A & DarkSydePhil are eye openers of how not to ruin your reputation & self image. binging your videos now lol. Cheers.
I don't think he's a bad creator it's just the trend that keeps changing and the general dislike for thumbnail farmer's is pretty sad since many creator's made a living in that format so there's no need to hate on them just ignore it and move on
Still remember being a little kid and watching his black ops 2 gameplay before the game came out and being captivated instantly. Such a shame he’s become a clown on UA-cam
I used to love watching his content back in the Black Ops 2 days. Back when him, Tmartn and that guy from Hawaii that everyone said was always copying them? I forgot his name if anyone remembers?
I used to love watching Ali-A back when I was just becoming a teenager in 2012-2013 cause I wasn't allowed to play COD but I liked it so much! I would play vicariously through watching his videos on my little nook HD tablet and it would give me so much happiness in the times that were really rough for me as a kid. I really stopped watching Ali-A around 2017 when he switched to fortnite and I turned 18 and moved out of my parents house and really got to play the games I wanted when I wanted. Now I'm 22; married with a baby boy. I rarely ever play video games anymore and if I do it's old COD to relive the good times. I check in on Ali-As channel every now and then and seeing how he's getting married and now having a kid around the same time I did is really cool; but I still can't stand his thumbnails anymore!
I remember subscribing to this man back in 2018 when I was dumb. I am so glad I bailed my ass away from him knowing he would turn out for the worst like this.
I just recently went back and watched a lot of his older COD vids. Used to love watching them back in the day to be honest. As soon as he transitioned to fortnite is when I stopped watching him completely. Absolutely no interest in these battle royal games, but COD has fallen off as well in terms of the newer titles so I cant really blame him as he is a full time youtuber. I just wish I could go back to 2008-2013 to relive the glory days.
This is why we need channels like yours. As creaters, it's good to see the result of certain UA-cam strategies (such as clickbating) summarized in one video. It is scary to see that a certain strategy might work in the beginning but eventually flops. Anyway, great content. Keep it up.
Majority of what he said were mistakes that he didn't correct himself maybe someone needs to talk about him too he said something about a fortnite vid considering alia but that vid was about pubg.
I saw your “the entire history of fortnite I guess” video, so uhhh… when are we gonna get a “the entire history of skyrim I guess” lord knows it would help the CPM

Έλληνας είσαι;
Same bro and i still do!
That’s crazy I was watching Ali A when I was 10/11 aswell but that was way back in 2011 I stopped watching once he became a clickbait fake happy personality UA-camr though
I remember watching him when I was like 13, I’m now 21… Jesus time fucking flies by
Bro i uses to watch fhe shit out of him in the cod ghosts days, now hes completly fucking different
Same here. I played BO1 on a wii back then so He was my gateway to what Xbox CoD was like
What're you guys up to now... are you proud of where you are now? Just curious.
I used to watch him when he did Minecraft Skywars when I was 8, im 15 now
I was in 6th grade now in college

I remember how he used to play a ton of CoD and especially how he was a god at Gun Game. sad to see how the times have changed.
I used to watch him back in the COD days as well, when 2018ish came around I was like nope and left like most people
They literally charge $140 NZD a year for a new title which is now just become reskins of the previous games whereas Fortnite is free.
i love that u brought up rewatch ability i can binge watch ur videos cause of how in-depth they are.

I remember in MW3 times Ali-A was the shit. His videos were informative, he wasn’t an egomaniac and it was apparent he did it because he enjoyed it.
I started watching him during modern warfare 3......his content was legit back then and he was true to himself

He wasn't over the top, click baiting person that tried to get children to view his videos. He used to be a serious Call of Duty UA-camr. Im not saying that he should go back to COD, what I'm saying is that he as a person/UA-camr, is completely different from what he used to be.
I never really liked ali-a, but it’s sad to see his downfall
I started to watching him when he played COD BO2 zombies. I saw almost all the walkthrough of COD campaign. Watching him playing COD Multiplayer and seeing him barely die in every match was amazing. I was really happy and enjoyed watching him play. When he moved to Fortnite i knew he just did it for trends and i don't blame him, but the problem was the clickbait and the thumbnails. Damn i miss these good old days

Those were the days when whiteboy7thst and zzirgrizz were still dominating the gaming scene.

It's not really a downfall, he just moved on. All the old/OG CoD channels that didn't move on to new games or content with a new audience are either dead or barely pulling a few thousand views per video.
