that feeling of staying up late to make enough storage to download the new season and waiting all day after school to play it will never ever be replicated them 2018 fortnite days were truly special.
I think it's a step in the right direction compared to 2023 "Season OG" but I still don't think it will be as good as an exact replica would be. The reason I liked old Fortnite was because the pacing was different, there were no bots, you couldn't easily run away from a fight so you had to think about every move you did, and there were sound effects that no longer exist that helped build pressure. It felt like the Hunger Games, and I don't think the different sounds, UI, and graphics will capture what I liked about old Fortnite. Just feels like Epic did their take on what it would be like if it was made in Creative.
I used to always request the day off work when a new season would drop. Now I'm the manager and don't have to request shit, I just schedule myself off for new season launch days 😅

The reason why Fortnite has a really special place in my heart, its because I can call it "THE LAST GAME WHERE I FELT GENUINE HAPPINESS WHILE PLAYING". I was 20 years old when Fortnite Battle Royal released and until then I used to play GTA online or WWE games alone, all by myself. Fortnite really had something I could not get from other games, even to this day. I'm still trying to find games that give me the same feeling Fortnite gave me when I started playing. I am now 27 and just came back to Fortnite after, I think maybe a year(?) of not playing and everything feels SOOOOOOOOOOOOO different. However, I'm still enjoying it and kinda enjoying the marvel season and now Fortnitmares. I truly believe that there will never be another game like Fortnite. Even with games like GTA 6 which I know cant be compared to Fortnite, but can have the same effect in pop culture when it releases, I know it will not be like Fortnite.
Yeah, on an account I don’t have anymore. I had a game clip of my first kill in the game ever, which happened to be on the first day of season 3. To think that was around 26 seasons ago or 7 years ago (February 22, 2018), is just insane.
back in 2018. I was 7 turning 8. And my parents didn't wanting me playing fortnite, but they were fine with my older brother who was 12-13 at the time. But I actually really wanted to play Fortnite, so whenever me and my brother were home alone he would let me play Fortnite which was so much fun. OG Fortnite can mean so many different things for people. That's whats so great about it.
I'm 45 years old and have been playing it since season 3 (2018?). Me and my friends still love it and play a couple of times a week even though we suck and the progression curve is flat as hell. We played a lot of call of duty before but haven't played it for a second since this game entered our lives.
My man you were around during original cods is that not your more nostalgic “wish I could go back to games” I was 6 playing black ops 1 and cod world at war and that to me was the time I wish I could go back too
i remember hearing about fortnite in 2017, it was just as the halloween theme was going on. it was like the wild west, 1x1s really didnt exist, just the occasional line of walls and ramps leading up the sides of mountains. hardly any skins at all, and if i did see a skin player i would just stay hidden in a bush and wait for them to pass. shortly after that i think they introduced teams. me and a friend set up our ps4s and two tvs in the lounge grinding all day for a win, hardly knew how to build at all still. one game, theres just us and one guy left. my friend is picked off by him from a sniper tower. im just cowering in a bush waiting for him to stick his head up to snipe him back. sure enough he got cocky and boom, first dub right there and we were absolutely ecstatic. very wholseome memories. the creative was good fun too when they introduced that
This video is literally a masterpiece. You explain it exactly how I feel about the game. For people who didn’t play this game they will never understand how it feels…
That thumbnail: my old favorite drop location when I was new to the game. It was not far from dusty divot so it was easy to go get hop rocks after. I remember dropping there and hearing that old wirring sound effect of another player gliding in on me. Good times man.
i remember like it was yesterday, it was either the first or second week fortnite was dropped, my friend at school kept telling me to play it with him (i didn’t play online games) and i looked it up when i got home, seen it and fell in love made and e-mail etc and got my ps4 online and downloaded the game next day was a saturday and it was literally the perfect day, i hoped on it and we immediately got into a ps party and realized i didn’t have a microphone so i found a pair of headphones and luckily they had a TINY part of the cord that was a mic, and minutes go by and we load into a match, first game i found a gold scar, and my friend freaked out and killed me so he could have it. i’ll never forget the little memories i was 11 at the time i’m now 18. id do anything to go back

I wish I could never stopped, even tho Roblox has been one of the best experiences so has Fortnite. In early 2023 I started playing again after my friends wanted me to. I regained all of my og memories and I missed them. I started again in chapter 5 and it was the best thing ever, after that I started to get good, better, and better. I just want to go back to 2019
Getting to play Fortnite back in 2017/2019 with the boys has to be a universally loved experience. There was no proper responsibility to take up our time, we always checked leaks and the new battle passes on the school computers, and it being the massive game it was, you were never stuck for a duo or ful squad. Fortnite in 2018 was the best everything about it and since I was young it was creative to me and so interesting and fun to play especially save the world
I was 9 when I started playing in August 2017. I had grown up with a dad, uncle, and 5 older cousins who played the games of the 90s, 00s, and early 10s, so I definitely played different games than most but the hype around 2017 (and 2018) fortnite was crazy. EVERYONE was playing it, I started playing with my older and younger cousins and is was honestly perfect. I don't think there will ever be another experience in my life like that.
Let’s all amit that Fortnite is the only game in the 21th century or basically hpgaming history that has the most collabs ever. There will be no other game where you have Peter Griffen, Optimus prime, Superman and master chief going up against Solid snake, Rick and Morty, Kratos and Mr Incredible in Pleasent park, hitting the griddy
I remember when Fortnite was at its peak I used to get a dub a day and eventually everybody wanted to play with me to get them a dub. I mean it was like I was running a business it was so big and if you were good it just made you bigger. I even made a slogan that people used and it was such a cool time. Miss it so much
sadly I wasn't like OG to Fortnite but some of my best memories came from 2020 chapter 2 season 4 when I started playing. that wasn't the beginning of Fortnite but it's changed so much since then and I miss it
one thing to give to Fortnite that it never gets is having a balanced shotgun meta if you take any game either shotgun is used like a sniper with one shot potential for crazy range or shotgun is not used at all
4:13 There were also skins like the gingerbread man who was associated with lazarbeam, code name elf was associated with Lachlan, and reflex for fresh.
Im so glad i was able to play this game in its absolute most prime i legit watched the playerbase evolve from trash builders to 5star hotels in 2.5 seconds
I will never forget the time when i had friends and played Fortnite all night. Neither of them are the same anymore :( No one has time for friendships anymore.
@@rambobI’ve spent £14 on Save the world 4 years ago. I’ve made roughly 100k vbucks (I’m not so sure but you get atleast 13k a year and I’ve done every challenge) from grinding save the world.
Slight correction: Fortnite the game itself came out July 25th 2017, only with Save The World as the main game mode, the second game mode, Battle Royale didn’t release until September 26th 2017.
I don't comment much, but I'll leave my mark here. I was around since the start but didn't play until CH1 S9 in 2019. I feel as if this game has grown up alongside me man. This game has been with me since I was a small kid to now the older me in my teens. Crazy to see how much Fortnite has changed the gaming landscape for the good and the bad. I stopped playing around CH3 because I was burnt out and got bored (I was a comp player) but I'll hop in every few months or so. I'm glad to have met so many cool people because of this game and have made so many memories. There truly won't be another game like Fortnite. P.S I almost cried with that last montage XD
as someone who plays fortnite on and off but regularly since release, yeah, its really one of a kind game even if at times you might get bored of it it just have that charm to make you come back, for example in last chapter season 3 there was weapon called "Tow Hook Cannon" on surface level just a utility tool to chase down people in cars, but the thing that EVERYBODY seemed to sleep on, was how DUMB FUN it was as killing tool we talk flat 100 dmg from any range, long distance, high knockback weapon that basically was a MENACE in builds since one shot was either crack or insta kill and even if you didnt killed with direct hit, the fall damage often finished the job lel for almost entire season this item was always in my inventory as i was laughting like a maniac as hooks were flying left and right in other words, theres alot of moments that i cherish in fortnite and probabmly make more of then in the future as i continue playing
Fortnite is still the game where I have the most fond memories of playing with friends. We spent the whole summer of 2018 grinding every day to max our Ragnarok skin only for it to suck compared to max Omega. That summer produced so many valuable moments though!
Aci-L caught me off guard as a BGM you used; always great to encounter random Umineko references lol. I felt the same with your sediments. I remember having the geratest time playing with friends, but always being "afraid" of doing solo games. An isolated feeling in a familiar world.
13:40 I know what you mean, but rather than fear I felt extremely anxious, I lowkey didnt want to play solos becuase of the sheer amount of anxiety it gave me
A core memory is waking up the day after the Eagles won the superbowl a snow day in particular and hoping on fortnite with my friends who I didn’t get to celebrate with yet
Fortnite legitimately brought me closer together with a variety of people. I stopped playing it regularly years ago, and my social life has declined ever since. There were other reasons for this decline of course, but I do think that Fortnite had a special way of connecting people.
I think the fact that now building has become so advanced that when people use slow and old building styles that the new advanced style just gets triggered like a switch. It’s why people say sweats build hotels the moment you shoot. It’s like something triggers in their brain that they need to build a massive structure to outbuild their opponent before they actually figure out the said person’s building abilities. The only way to go back is for the really good players to not go crazy immediately when someone builds a wall and a ramp.
there is not a single game on this planet that makes me feel the same way as watching old fortnite clips

I remember when Fortnite was at its peak I used to get a dub a day and eventually everybody wanted to play with me to get them a dub. I mean it was like I was running a business it was so big and if you were good it just made you bigger. I even made a slogan that people used and it was such a cool time. Miss it so much
sadly I wasn't like OG to Fortnite but some of my best memories came from 2020 chapter 2 season 4 when I started playing. that wasn't the beginning of Fortnite but it's changed so much since then and I miss it
Fr
Sorry that you started when it started falling off
@@wormscarf4085 lmao dude that first marvel season was some heat sorry you just have a stick in your bum
It fell off by then.
Season X was when Fortnite hype died
Dude this video gave me chills super nostalgic man
The Nintendo 3ds E-shop music in the background is sensational
cool video man, didn't expect a smaller channel to be so quality. good luck in the future
Thank you brother
Me 2 months later knowing fortnight released og again.
How does this guy only have 1.8k subs? His editing is amazing and his narration is really good
one thing to give to Fortnite that it never gets is having a balanced shotgun meta if you take any game either shotgun is used like a sniper with one shot potential for crazy range or shotgun is not used at all
Prime Fortnite is genuinely the most enjoyable gaming experience I’ve ever had
Started play the game in 2017 when I was 12 and loved it even though I sucked at first.
Then in 2018 season 3-4 the game was different gravy
4:13 There were also skins like the gingerbread man who was associated with lazarbeam, code name elf was associated with Lachlan, and reflex for fresh.
this made me cry 😭
underrated channel, keep up the amazing work! :D
Keep crying little baby
@@rambob bro what 😂😂😂😭😭
@@rambob thanks man
Im so glad i was able to play this game in its absolute most prime i legit watched the playerbase evolve from trash builders to 5star hotels in 2.5 seconds
Man this bro deserve more subs tbh, you've earned a sub.
Amazing video :') took me back to those first months of playing it, overall its first year was truly something else
the production quality on this video is so good I was surprised you weren't like some super huge youtuber
13:34 only the brave plays solos😂😂 I think it's a universal thing, I hate playing solos cuz you can get killed at any moment
That's weird I like it cause its relaxing, you can watch or listen to whatever you want while playing plus no one has to see you fail
12:23 bro the Dsi photo music is so nostalgic🙏🏽😭
I will never forget the time when i had friends and played Fortnite all night. Neither of them are the same anymore :( No one has time for friendships anymore.
i still get all my vbucks from save the world, best thing ive purchased in my life, wouldnt been playing for so long if it wasnt for that
Is it really infinite vbucks?
@@rambob yes if you bought it back then
@@rambobI’ve spent £14 on Save the world 4 years ago.
I’ve made roughly 100k vbucks (I’m not so sure but you get atleast 13k a year and I’ve done every challenge) from grinding save the world.
That’s insane everything I read online said there was a cap
@@rambobmhm the problem is they reduced it, and save the world gets tedious when you’ve grinded for years
fortnite first came out when i was 14, best opportunity i had to make friends cuz i was barely in school. So peak i kinda miss that feeling
Slight correction: Fortnite the game itself came out July 25th 2017, only with Save The World as the main game mode, the second game mode, Battle Royale didn’t release until September 26th 2017.
Literally did the SAME thing my first game when I was about 12-14 landed at the bridge tho
This was a awesome video dude i subscribed!
P.S I almost cried with that last montage XD
this video made me cry made me remember the nostalgia of og Fortnite no remixes no sprinting you would just play the game for fun
MY GOAT BABY!!!! ALREADY CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE!!
3-6 business months
@@rambob 😭🙏
as someone who plays fortnite on and off but regularly since release, yeah, its really one of a kind game even if at times you might get bored of it
it just have that charm to make you come back, for example in last chapter season 3 there was weapon called "Tow Hook Cannon"
on surface level just a utility tool to chase down people in cars, but the thing that EVERYBODY seemed to sleep on, was how DUMB FUN it was as killing tool
we talk flat 100 dmg from any range, long distance, high knockback weapon that basically was a MENACE in builds since one shot was either crack or insta kill
and even if you didnt killed with direct hit, the fall damage often finished the job lel
for almost entire season this item was always in my inventory as i was laughting like a maniac as hooks were flying left and right
in other words, theres alot of moments that i cherish in fortnite and probabmly make more of then in the future as i continue playing
13:40
I know what you mean, but rather than fear I felt extremely anxious, I lowkey didnt want to play solos becuase of the sheer amount of anxiety it gave me
It was nice reflecting on the old fort. good vid btw
Fun fact: the Lethal Company skin costs more than the actual game
4:55, I gear what you're playing!
nice choice (:
I was legitimately thinking about this idea, Fortnite is just so unique, and the experiences are nothing short
Man your first game sounded so fun. My first game was fun too. Dropped. Pick Up Gun. And Stare Into Sky. Die To John Wick.
I still enjoy this game even if my skills aren't good like my friends
yeah
You're underrated asf
A core memory is waking up the day after the Eagles won the superbowl a snow day in particular and hoping on fortnite with my friends who I didn’t get to celebrate with yet
Man this video is so emotional 😭😭😭
you teleported me to 2017
The graphics, the movement, the gun sounds etc. that game was perfect.
It was such a gem, im so glad i was around for it.
Ur content is so underrated. I thought your channel was one of the big ones
Everyone's talking about PUBG and Fortnite but only the real OGs remember Minecraft Hunger Games
Fortnite legitimately brought me closer together with a variety of people. I stopped playing it regularly years ago, and my social life has declined ever since. There were other reasons for this decline of course, but I do think that Fortnite had a special way of connecting people.
Man I remember watching streamers in class right after a new season would come out and everyone consistently talking about it
That ending collage was brilliant and so liminal. Especially with the Undella Town music in the back. Awesome video man
"You're propably wondering how i got here, well, let's go back to july 21, 2017"
I love how quick he got to the point😂
The feeling of your video got me! Thanks for your great content creation and keep it up man!
Never forget how excited and addicting it was to get online with your squad and pray to get a Win by the end of the night.
The only way to go back is for the really good players to not go crazy immediately when someone builds a wall and a ramp.
good that you thanked beyoncé in the description
thanks beyoncé for letting me comment this!
