I knew a person who attended dash con, she said she met a person who was crying in the lobby because as volunteer staff they were guaranteed to have a room to stay in, only that was a lie. They were far from home with nowhere to sleep. So she and the people she was staying with agreed to let them camp out on their floor. I can't imagine how scary that must have been

Strange Aeons made a very well in depth video about dash con and she actually talks about this happening.
Apparently a lot of the issues from dash con stem from the fact that there were three people running a convention. Two of them arguably were just trying to take the money and run, and the only one that actually cared was a 17 year old girl.

Some added fun flavor about Tana-con:
    1. The hotel manager who ran the whole hotel hated working there because Tana didn't organize it properly and so he was at the line where everyone was waiting and said "AS THIS SH*T SHOW COULDN'T GET ANY WORSE"
    2. One of the girls in the line legit had a heat stroke and was send to the hospital.

The definition of a rabbit hole:
    - I researched this Hotel Riviera where the convention took place.
    - Found out that in its early years (in the 50's to 60's) it was suspected of being under overal control of Chicago mob boss Tony Accardo.
    - Tony was a massive figure and the leader of the Chicago Outfit, the crime family that Capone once ruled.
    - In 1978 a bunch of fools stole from Tony Accardo's property while he was on vacation elsewhere.
    - Soon after the three thieves were found strangled and with their throats cut open...

In an era where self-improvement and personal development are more accessible than ever, podcasts have emerged as a vital medium for exploring these themes. One standout in this genre is "Talk Tuah," hosted by Haley Welsch. This engaging podcast invites listeners to delve into the nuances of personal growth, mental health, and empowerment, all while fostering a sense of community among its audience.
Haley Welsch, a passionate advocate for mental wellness and personal development, brings a unique perspective to the podcast. With her background in psychology and years of experience in coaching, she offers insightful commentary and relatable anecdotes that resonate with her listeners. Each episode of "Talk Tuah" features conversations with a diverse array of guests, including psychologists, authors, and everyday individuals who have transformative stories to share. This variety not only enriches the content but also highlights the multifaceted nature of personal growth.
One of the core themes of "Talk Tuah" is the importance of vulnerability. Haley often emphasizes that sharing one's struggles can be a powerful tool for healing. By showcasing guests who candidly discuss their challenges and triumphs, the podcast creates a safe space for listeners to reflect on their own experiences. This focus on vulnerability is crucial in today's world, where social media often promotes an unrealistic portrayal of life. Haley's authentic approach encourages her audience to embrace their imperfections and understand that growth is not a linear process.
Another significant aspect of the podcast is its emphasis on actionable strategies. Each episode typically concludes with practical tips that listeners can implement in their daily lives. Whether it's mindfulness techniques, journaling prompts, or goal-setting strategies, Haley ensures that her audience leaves each episode with concrete tools for improvement. This practical focus sets "Talk Tuah" apart from many other personal development podcasts, which may rely heavily on abstract concepts without offering tangible steps for listeners.
The conversational style of "Talk Tuah" also contributes to its appeal. Haley's warm and approachable demeanor fosters a sense of intimacy, making listeners feel as if they are part of a genuine dialogue rather than a one-sided lecture. Her ability to ask insightful questions while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere encourages guests to share deeply, resulting in rich, thought-provoking discussions. This format not only keeps the content engaging but also allows for the exploration of complex topics in a digestible manner.
Listeners of "Talk Tuah" often report feeling inspired and motivated after each episode. The podcast has cultivated a community of individuals eager to support one another in their journeys of self-discovery and growth. Haley frequently interacts with her audience through social media platforms, encouraging feedback and fostering discussions that extend beyond the episodes themselves. This sense of community is vital in creating a supportive environment where listeners can share their experiences and learn from one another.
Moreover, "Talk Tuah" addresses a wide range of topics, from managing anxiety and overcoming self-doubt to setting healthy boundaries and cultivating resilience. By covering such a broad spectrum, the podcast appeals to a diverse audience, ensuring that there is something for everyone. This inclusivity reinforces the idea that personal growth is a universal journey, with each individual facing unique challenges and milestones.
In conclusion, "Talk Tuah" with Haley Welsch is more than just a podcast; it is a valuable resource for anyone seeking to enhance their understanding of personal growth and mental health. Through its emphasis on vulnerability, actionable strategies, and community-building, the podcast offers a refreshing perspective in a crowded field. Haley's genuine passion for empowering others shines through in every episode, making "Talk Tuah" a must-listen for those on the path to self-discovery and empowerment. As listeners tune in week after week, they not only gain insight but also find a sense of belonging in a shared journey towards betterment

It was a Lord Of The Rings convention created by a scam artist, who is nowadays known as Andrew Blake, who claimed to have a “duplicate soul of Elijah Wood”. The convention never happened because the planning was just Andy begging the venue and vendors for free shit at the last minute, but it still managed to leave three Aussie and Kiwi actors from the Peter Jackson LOTR films stranded in America for a few days.

There's a similar thing with Steven Universe where (and I preface this with the fact that I watched all shows I'll mention religiously as they aired) Adventure Time fans started spreading a lie about a year after Steven Universe Future finished that the original Steven Universe series had been cancelled over a season before it finished, to imply it was a bad quality show that nobody should watch. In spite of this being demonstrably untrue due to every episode of SU being aired on television, the sequel movie being aired on television, and all episodes of the sequel series SU:F being aired on television, SU fans have since adopted this lie because it makes them look like victims.
In reality, SU was popular enough with teen/adult lesbians that they were a significant factor in deciding the scheduling of upcoming episodes - by airing them on tv in big "Stevenbombs" that were announced a month or more in advance, adults were much more able to adjust their life schedules to be able to watch it and pump up CN's ad revenue. By contrast, when Nickolodeon were faced with the same scenario with Avatar: The Legend of Korra, they chose to remove the show from television and air it exclusively online, meaning that not a single episode of the final season ever aired on tv, but I have never seen a single person claim it was cancelled in spite of there being a much stronger argument to be made that it was.

A friend of mine is an organizer for a moderately successful convention (this weekend actually), and he's got some stories to tell about how much of a ballache it is. Venue fees are outrageous to begin with, but if you're even _slightly_ popular they jack up the rates. Sponsors are hard to get because for the most part, any increase in sales from a single annual convention is negligible.
He even once had to cancel their headliner performance _3 days beforehand,_ solely because the venue franchise owners (who had _already approved it)_ found out it was a metal band with a less-than-Christian image. Definitely not something just any Joe Schmo can try.

The Derpy Hooves thing is a great internet story on its own. The first 2 seasons of the show added a clumsy, possibly stupid nameless pony with googly eyes. The fans named her Derpy and turned her into a fandom-meme. And then Hasbro happened, making her "non-offensive", basically cancelling her. The fandom wasn't happy. Dang I wasn't expecting to see my country Philippines to be part of your video, heck I wasn't even aware Pokeverse even happened here. The person who documented that con deserves a award for posting and showing everyone what happened during that time. Tbh It's not just Pokeverse, there are tons of undocumented convention disasters that happened here there are other anime, cosplay, and gaming cons that ended in disasters. Mostly a lot of them went undocumented cause most of them are posted on facebook groups which unfortunately a majority of the posts got purged, photos, videos and comments got deleted by mods etc.
Besides the Ravioli guy. There are others as well, there are a a ton of incidents where in guys age late 20s to their 50s who were creeps stalking young cosplayers, taking inappropriate photos zoomed in photos of them. Some of them got called out and posted online, but none suffered jail time. One even cosplayed as a COD solider and even brought a real gun to a cosplay con. Also there was a guy who literally cosplayed as a Nazi and went on doing salutes to everyone. And many many more, if I'm not mistaken some of those con incidents got posted on filipino tagalog subreddits and got archived. But for the most part most of them got deleted either due to the OP getting afraid of being sued by the one people who arrange the event or by the person they are cancelling, or just want the whole incident removed from their digital foot print online. You could try searching for them online, but for the most part conventions aren't much of a things cause of how pricey it is to get in to and how people view it as a waste of time and money here. Great video showcasing these incidents MM, love how you got stated the full details of each event.
