I'm glad to see a project done in this garage space, I remember how excited you were when you first moved there to have room to work with then entire car within! This video definitely gave me a little anxiety but I also learned a lot! Cheers, Sledge!
That amount of metal dust is completely normal. That is far from a bad one. Normal wear and tear as they say. In automatic transmissions there is frition discs, brake bands and planetary gears. They all make dust. Thats why atf is detergent oil. It keeps the gearbox clean as possible. This is why there are those two magnets.
Ah the rollercoaster of emotions when removing stubborn bolts, from frustration and nearly loosing your mind too feeling that relief and accomplishment when it finally comes out! I keep all my real bastard bolts in my toolbox 😂
6:03 what no bells? 7:06 they probably used T25 as not everyone has a T27. Glad you got the bolt out 8:19 🔔 spoke too soon. Great video keep them coming! 😊
12:30 whenever I do bushings or other rubber parts that need to become more flexible or restore to a certain shape, I let them sit in a bucket or small container with boiling water. Have a cup of tea or coffee and then after about 15 minutes your life will be easier.
Model year 88 because it has the old LH2.2 (last year 1988) but already has the ABS mounting studs which were added first in model year 1988. I bet it's registered between 08/87 and 09/88
@dbt2787 in Germany it's an upholstery that was used from ~1985 to 88, for 89 a thicker fabric was used in the standard grey/blue/creme 'salt and pepper' upholstery (also the colours green and red were not available anymore from MY89 on I think).
Note: This video was filmed about 1 year ago in Bavaria, Germany, where I lived previously. See my latest uploads for more recent videos!

Excellent job, Sledge. Glad the peasants left their pitchforks at home this time! 😂

NEVER flush an old transmission! Drain, change filter and refill with about 30% used fluid. The metal is stopping the transmission slipping!
For such screw problem ... better work with Handschlagschrauber!
Have you never heard of a Dremel multi tool.
What year is this old girl Sledge? Never been sure because of the Deutsch plates.

the seats would suggest 1987 or earlier but could be wrong as different countries had different upholstery options

@@LZP1987 great observations
@@LZP1987The mounting studs on the inner fenderwell did actually come 1987 but they still had the abs unit in the trunk until 1988 😅
