- This fight can be a nightmare If you aren't prepared. You want to go in a with a strategic mindset instead of the typical " hope and Smash" buttons. I'll do my best to streamline some of the harder challenges as I'm still playing through the for the first time. Let me know what you guys think! Thanks for the support.

This strategy works very nicely - Yuffie works incredibly well to keep Odin engaged, and she's fast enough with Brumal form to dodge pretty much everything he throws at her. Great guide, thank you!

I knows there's people out there who have found crazy ways to destroy them in mere minutes lol. Great explanation! If I ever feel like taking this on again I'll keep this video in mind. I don't like these types of fights but I acknowledge it's a skill/patience issue on my part as well. It's not fun for me tho and it's sapped all my interest in wanting to replay on Hard. One good thing tho might be the enemies are actually harder on Dynamic in the late game particularly, and specifically Odin based off some single character vs Odin vids I've been seeing.

Great video and tips. Tried with Cloud, Barret, and Yuffie but couldn't get the damage up. Thought about using Tifa instead, and it looks too be the best strategy. Thanks

Jesus that’s hard work. Just had a sigh of relief. Finally beat them. Thanks. But Odin scared the crap put of me. Did his warning not long after beating Alexander. But I had dodged everything with Yuffie. Not sure if he just does it after a certain amount of time also.
nice! Good stuff, yeah it can be tough for sure since most of the game it was easy cruising in my opinion but this one specifically was tough. Glad you got through it. That’s odd I haven’t tried maybe there is a timer only thing I can think is if you aren’t dealing damage he gets bored and goes straight to the warning. Honestly the most annoying thing is his “reprisal” attack when you try to use an ATB attack
@@OtenP_ yeah. Insanely tough. I played the rest of the game on Dynamic. And the only other boss that troubled me. Was Rufus. Not the mechanic. Figured that out quickly. Similar to Xigbar from KH2. But I do like the feeling it gives too. That feeling of ‘crap’ should I heal. Or go for an attack. Should I defend or dodge. Almost like the OG when you play on ‘active’ as opposed to ‘wait’. I did find that when I played with Yuffie I wasn’t dealing as much. As I wanted to keep my distance. It’s a delicate balance.

Just completed this on normal using the stratagies in this video at level 50. Guys, it works. Its incredibly important to spam wind current whenever you can to trigger fervor. Keep haste up, save limits for staggers. Will take a few attempts but it worked and my kill was much sloppier than this video

Nice strategy, I took way more time developing mine with Aerith and Red, it was more like a defensive way to handle Alexander attacks
Thanks! I got my ass handed to me various time but then I started seeing Odins pattern, that’s actually a solid party as well, who do you play as while fighting Odin?
@@OtenP_ Mostly Red because he was fast, and Cloud. Took me ages to actually defeat him because I had to support two Alexander's Final Judgements before whipe him and focus on Odin.

I don't know if they changed it in the patch but Blindside definitely triggers Reprisal when I'm fighting him. And Brumal Form has a 50/50 shot of just leaving me in the path of Charge anyway. Neither were reliable. I had to use Precision Defense Focus Materia and when Odin charges, you can get 3+ perfect blocks if you have the timing right. It sends his stagger bar through the roof.
Honestly haven’t touched this game since I made this video, has there been patches? I gotta try it again to see, but you can’t get hit too much otherwise when you use an atb reprisal will be used. Not sure about the perfect blocks but I remember when I would do them he would still use zantetsuken
@@OtenP_ I know they patched a few days ago to fix things like the achievement that was blocked due to a Gold Saucer minigame that wouldn't count your score correctly. I never looked at the patch notes so I don't know what else they changed but I definitely cannot use Blindside at all.

@@OtenP_ No, he only reprisals your characters if you got touched (because the bullshit still applies if you perfect block) by his helm breaker attack or any attack that puts cuffs on your character.
Level 70 and sucking at this, LOL. Granted I haven't played the game in over a month due to the 'post game blues' so I can't even remember how to keep Cloud in the air like you do here. Also Yuffie keeps targeting Alexander with her shuriken instead of Odin most of the time. I need to check my settings and see if that is something I can change. Guess I need to keep 'practicing' it until I get the feel of the fight down but I knew this was going to be difficult for me anyways regardless of my level.
I hear ya! Same here for sure got hit with those post game blues lol, I had to lay off the game for awhile after this video but I’m also going to start getting back into it on hard mode. That’s odd that the shuriken does that. Checking the lock on buttons I changed mine to the dpad since I hate the default settings for that. You’ll get it just gotta get back in the grove that’s all
@@OtenP_ I wound up getting it done not long after I posted that, lol. The other fights wound up being much worse than this one for me. I'm now at the point where I'm accumulating the materials to finally craft the Genji Gloves. So on to chapter 8 and try to make my way to the meatball on hard mode.
Yeah, I can't make this work. I don't use the shortcut for Brumal and just don't get the timing right. Pretty sure he also did Reprisal after Blindside. I can still make him vanish and Alexander isn't going down as fast. He survived three limits and Odin came back and killed me. On another attempt Alexander wiped all but Cloud right before staggering him. This fight is for me the hardest definitely.
@@backspacer92 it can get frustrating for sure, took me a good amount of attempts before I got this video. The short cut is helpful but you can still do pull it off in tactical mode. You can get away with Odin hitting you a couple of times but make sure you have Yuffie shuriken stay hitting Odin so and just continue to evade his attacks. You have to be doing damage to Odin at all times and not get hit. That will then cause him to get pressure. Alexander is just keeping cloud mid air and spamming fire bolt blade. It’s a hard challenge for sure but doable one you have everything planned out.
@@OtenP_ Yeah, it's frustrating. I don't have True Strike so damage is a bit of a problem for Alexander because I foolishly want to get this done before finishing the game. Blindside and Reprisal are definitely weird. Sometimes Odin will do it and other times not when I hit him with Blindside. I'm playing it on Dynamic on top of that.
Just found out Brumal form can also cancel out zetz. Try it lol

Im trying full might solo cloud darkside build idk how to even block one move. In the final brutal challenge i beat him easy. Maybe cloud aint the one but full might was easy on everyone till odin
I haven’t touched the game since this video lol I’m not too familiar with all these new builds. But since you say you’re doing solo cloud I think even if you perfect parry his attacks he still does Zantetzken. I’m going to get back into making more guides

What part are you having trouble with in this fight ?
Mainly forgetting about the Earth Tremor attack and then building Alexander’s pressure gauge after crippling his arms

This may not be as simple as your putting it because while yes dodging and not getting hit by his attacks are one thing you also pretty much HAVE to be spamming atb ability’s on him or he will get bored and do that dumbass shit insta kill anyway I mean you were using blindside and Brumal didn’t think that would be enough pressure on him but I guess it was???
This is the easiest method I think. There’s a lot of cracked out players uploading ridiculous videos of them destroying these fights lol. But in these videos I do my best to break it down for everyone to be able to do. As long as yuffies shuriken is on Odin and you are dodging and not getting hit and using blind side it’s enough for him not to get bored and use Zantetsuken. That’s really the trick to this fight. Alexander is a cake walk
@@OtenP_ I see yeah I had so much trouble with Odin in the sim after a few hours switched it to easy for the fight I didn’t care but I’m gonna do these fights on normal so I’m pretty scared for Odin but I’ll definitely try this out yuffies one of my mains so I should have no problem she’s so busted man amazing member now that I understand Odins mechanics I should be able to get it
