I explain how Odin works in this reddit post: / odin_mechanic_facts_th... Please read it before asking questions that are already answered by the post.
To be fair, these are just simulations created by Shinra/Chadley to create artificial materias. The genuine articles were worshipped by both ancient and modern humans.
You're talking out your arse. He is the most simplest character and is basically easy mode with his dodge. If you could not work that out then stop playing FF all together and go back to your lego star wars.
@@chochopopstv3468 Looks like he waits for Odin to use an unblockable attack then activates the limit break, and all of Odin’s attacks get automatically perfect blocked which refills the limit gauge.

@@joshuabrooks8332e skill is good on anyone…and he only used plasma discharge lol good skill to put on anyone in melee range. Cait Sith: Mounts a valiant steed ✅ Has a bunch of dice to roll✅ Odin: Mounts a valiant steed ✅ Has a bunch of dice to roll ❌ Cait Sith wins because of that alone.
Who would win? Legendary All-Father of Norse mythology, dual-wielding a sword and a spear whilst riding a huge majestic stallion? ...or anthropomorphic toy cat armed with a megaphone and riding an overstuffed plushie?
1:58 I guess this is a cool feature of Cait - since his limit animation is so long before the actual hits, the boss can attack you during the invincible portion and build you more limit (whereas with other characters' limits, they'd start attacking and stun the boss out of their attacks much earlier)
Using limits to survive ugly hits becomes more common in a lot of the later challenges. I don’t think I could’ve finished Cloud’s legendary run if I didn’t do that on White Terror.
The main difference with regards to this fight: rebirth makes perfect blocking a thing, as in, you guard at the last moment and that fills your gauges as well as the enemy’s stagger. Do it consistently for best results. The lower your max hp the better, too.

Actually, he does dodge a lot as well. The move I’m referring to is the one in which the Moogle does a little spin backwards, and Cait doesn’t hop off. To perform it you push the Left Stick in any direction from a neutral position. I think I understand it. If the Moogle is not actively targeting a foe, you can’t do the Moogle-dodge, only the Circle dodge in which Cait leaves the Moogle. Maybe you can quickly press R1 and then push the analog to avoid this behavior. I’ll have to test it when I get home.
Woah!!! Were you also using Dodge and Dive? Or were you perfect blocking everything? My goal now in this game is to get my CS almost as good as yours 😊
Dodge and Dive technically "targets" Odin and causes him to use Reprisal so that doesn't really work as a way to dodge his attack. Not to mention Dodge and Dive destroys the moogle. If find it's best used right after Moogle Kaboom to get rid of a big crowd of enemies.
Godlike playing. I barely made it through him with a party of 3. Ironically, I only even defeat him because he tried to us his insta-kill attack a second time, even though I had only Tifa alive with a sliver of health. If he had fought normally instead, he would have won.
I've been thinking Cait Sith holds the key to victory as i can build his Limit break quickly with ATB Limit Weapon Ability thus preventing Zantesuken by hitting him with a limit break guess I'll take him in solo with your build 🤞🏻
@@RagnaThePigyes exactly but in your clip we can see the mog dodging without cait Sith jumping.. But i found the answer, if you attack and then input a direction with your stick the mog will dodge 👍
@@shoubydrummer8447 ooooh yeah sorry I didn't understand what you meant. The Moogle does a little dodge spin when you tilt the stick during guard or an attack. It's tricky to use.

Parrying is in this game, you just have to perfect block. Precision Block materia makes a lot of one on one fights easy. A parry nullifies damage on regular attacks and pumps up the Stagger gauge.
It only triggers if you get hit a certain amount of times, not sure what the exact number is. If you parry or dodge most of his attacks then he won’t use it
If you assess him it tells you if you get hit too much Odin gets bored and Zantetsukens you. If you block/ parry his moves or hit him with detrimental status effects he gets excited by the challenge and becomes pressured. His fight is a skill check essentially
The replies are wrong. The fight is a DPS check, if you succeed, he will do Sleipnir's Furor which will pressure him and postpone the wipe, if he does Gjallahorn's Warning, then it means you didn't meet the check and the wipe will come.
@@azazel166 It's not exactly a DPS check either; it's something in between what you two said. Odin does Gjallarhorn's Warning if he gets bored, which happens if you take a lot of his hits without perfect guarding or if you don't deal enough damage to him. He does Sleipnir's Furor if you do a combination of "do enough damage" and "inflict him with status ailments" while also not taking damage from his hits. The thing is, incidental damage Odin deals to your other party members counts both towards his Reprisal chance and also his Gjallarhorn's Warning charge. Even if you personally play a perfect fight guard-wise, you can still trigger Gjallarhorn's Warning if you play too passively and your party members take incidental damage without you doing enough to pressure Odin. As a result, Odin can actually be easier to fight one-on-one than with a party if you're really confident in your perfect guarding skills. Just needing to worry about your own reactions means that Odin can never get free hits on your allies, making the fight more of a skill check. However, if you're going to use a party to face him, then the fight still has a skill floor but is definitely more of a DPS check like you said, since you WILL have to deal good, consistent damage to counterweight the free damage Odin is getting on your AI-controlled party members.
