@@RyanOstrowski-eh6ft Yeah I think it's largely going to play out the same as it did in the original. Tifa is still going to dive into the lifestream and help Cloud recover his memories.
I think there is some misunderstanding here about Sephiroth's words. He doesn't want to unmake the planet. The planet was always doomed to "unmake" itself which is what Sephiroth wants to stop. If you remember in Remake, he uses these words as a preamble to his goal. All life is bound to the planet, when the planet ceases to exist, so shall everyone. BUT, he doesn't want to stop existing. If you remember the OG and Dirge, it was heavily implied that the planet will eventually die and go back to cosmos. Aerith also says this in her speech that "everyone dies eventually" and she says it again in the temple that there is "no forever". It seems to me that Sephiroth's plan is to create an infinite and undying planet that will never cease to exist, even if it means the suffering of everyone else. We see this "suffering" introduced by the Gi who are unable to die and go back to the planet. They live with eternal suffering to the point of creating the black materia to destroy the planet so they can destroy themselves. This also makes sense as to why Cloud can hear loud screams of pain but Sephiroth seemed to enjoy the sounds. This also connects to what Aerith says about everyone's pain are merely like drops of rain on Sephiroth's back, or something like that. Basically, Sephiroth still wants to be an omnipotent god and he still is willing to sacrifice the world for this goal but he also knows that if the planet is destroyed, he who is part of the planet will also die. Thus he wants to create a planet that will never die. I think he wants to corrupt the lifestream with the people's suffering and take control of it and ensure that the planet never becomes part of Cosmos.
I noticed how everyone completed their trial in the temple except Cloud or at least he failed the one Sephiroth gave him. His must be in part 3 which is probably going to involve reliving that Aerith scene as it actually was. I think this is why Aerith's scene was so ambigous with the camera and Cloud's POV. From his warped perspective, nothing happened, so he still sees her ghost. While everyone else who dealt with their trauma and demons no longer look through clouded eyes and can see the truth without skewed perceptions.
I support this theory as it reinforces the Omni-slash being multiple Clouds in unison. Truly the only way to defeat an enemy of the level of Sephiroth (whomst we now know was a pan-dimensional being all along)
I’ve noticed a subtle localisation issue: Remake and Rebirth’s English translations mostly use British English, while most commentators speak American English. I think this matters because British English, like Japanese, is a high-context language (while American English is a low-context dialect). Topics are often talked around and this is signalled via register and body language. The use of high register words like ‘rapture’ and ‘confluence’ can be used to signal an indirect way of expressing oneself rather than a literal one. It’s important because the characters who use high register vocabulary are those who are misdirecting us in some way: Sephiroth, Red XIII, Bugenhagen, Rufus, Hojo, and even Cloud and Aerith at some points. Contrast this with Barrett, Tifa, and even Heidegger who are much more direct and honest about their intentions. I’d be interested to know if the Japanese dialogue uses equivalent signalling.
Interesting analysis. I think there's a handful of things that I gathered from the story so far that differ from what people generally have accepted about it. I don't see these alternative worlds as physical worlds on par with what the main party resides in, and that seems evident in the way Biggs and Zack refer to their perception of time in the world they're in. I think they're all worlds that exist in the lifestream, and that the Aerith Death scene has become a clever way to portray Cloud's mental response to her dying. I feel this story is sticking much closer to the concepts of the original, with some added flavor, and fixing much of the narrative issues that the original had. I won't be joining the timeline train that people are on, particularly due to the ideas that inspired the story and how multiple timelines in a traditional sense don't really fit with the themes of the game. I just feel that most of what's going on in the remakes can be explained very well through the lens of the original. Can't wait to see how things turn out, though.
Have you seen any videos that expand on this interpretation? I’m convinced that the instances of aerith that are not omni-aerith (sepheroth fight, sleeping forest) are not actually her and instead either a delusion, jenova, or a combination of the two. This seems to heavily contradict the more popular timeline theory though
You had me in the first part explaining worlds, lost me when you started theorizing part 3, then by the end you convinced me that this is actually feasible and would make a lot of sense. Good work dude!
The word 'rapture' can also mean "overwhelming joy" which is how Sephiroth is using it here. Though, I have no doubt it was chosen due to it's double meaning. There's some interesting ideas here, though I don't agree with all of them. I'm in thr camp thar Aerith is *dead* dead. We don't see the burial scene because Cloud is either blocking it, or Aerith is shielding him from it. Sephiroth needs Cloud to give in to ultimate despair and I could see Aerith trying to spare him. I think it's more likely we'll see that burial scene either at the Northern Crater, where Cloud finally breaks, or it will be in the lifestream segment when Cloud is put back together. If we work off the hypothesis about the orher worlds being manifestations being of the lifestream, then we can safely assume that both Zack and Aerith are, in fact, deceased. But the mind goes on. I also don't think that Part 3 is going to deviate from the established storyline very much by including the second "deaths" of Aerith and Zack. I don't know how they're going to play into the narrative of the third game, but the narrative, despite what seem people think, hasn't really deviated significantly from what was established. Nor will it, according to the creators. Still, this was a fin video and actually presented some interesting ideas. Only time will tell who is right.
Thumbs up. I'm curious, what's your opinion Drew on the fact that in multiple times during the game (and I *THINK* Remake as well, but I'm not sure about that) they often talk about "our star" instead of "our planet." But when they say it, they're definitely talking about the Planet planet, not their sun/star. Sorry, thunderstorm brb lol *shakes her head* Okies back. Do you think that....MEANT anything, ...? They went so far out of their way to correct mistranslations that I can't really accept this as just an oversight, especially with Bugenhagenhagenhagen saying it. I hope I'm just stupidly misinterpretationing some sort of logical interpolation. The entire process however left me wondering if this particular universe sees their planet as their "star," since it's the only place that has, and can encourage, life? Oh that thing over there, that's like that random kerosene heater that an old ass girl like me would recognize, of course it's in Don Corneo's place (there's one in the Honeybee Inn's dressing room too though, gotta love UR4's generics....) Drew I think I might be drunk.
@@wren7195 The statement is really vague and devoid of meaningful context to form much of an opinion on it. Bugenhagen does suggest that the lifestream emanates from their star and is what forms their planet. And drunk replies are the best kind!
"We don't see the burial scene because Cloud is either blocking it, or Aerith is shielding him from it. Sephiroth needs Cloud to give in to ultimate despair and I could see Aerith trying to spare him. I think it's more likely we'll see that burial scene either at the Northern Crater, where Cloud finally breaks, or it will be in the lifestream segment when Cloud is put back together." But... Why? It doesn't make sense either form narrative or emotional standpoint to just shuffle away burial to another, unrelated point of the story. It doesn't even work as a "I see dead people" twist because the game makes it pretty clear that the rest of the party thinks Aerith is dead. Playing coy with her fate, only to reveal later that she is actually dead and Cloud is just seeing things is a massive blunder from a storytelling perspective, IMO. It does nothing but completely remove any impact the audience could have from seeing her die, and sucks out the oxygen from the revelations in the later part of the story (especially if they will lump it together with Cloud's lifestream sequence like you suggested). Just a straight downgrade compared to the original. The only way it would make sense if they will do something unexpected with all this set up; otherwise serves no point. "If we work off the hypothesis about the orher worlds being manifestations being of the lifestream, then we can safely assume that both Zack and Aerith are, in fact, deceased. But the mind goes on." The lifestream worlds are full of people that are alive and well though, like Elmyra, Marlene and Johnny. Rebirth ultimania even confirmed that the Marlene Zack interacts with is the same Marlene we saw in the remake, since she has a future knowledge she revived from Aerith in the bar. The mechanics of this pseudo multiverse are incredibly opaque, but from what I understand while the game call them "dreams", they are more like Tangent Universe from Donnie Darko: A temporal copy of the "prime" universe that that will eventually collapse and fold into the said prime universe once "the dreamer" awakens. The idea has been also pretty heavily utilized in both FFX and Kingdom Hearts, it seems like Nomura and Nojima are transplanting their favorite tropes back into FFVII.
@@koklusz89 Oooo I love long comments, thanks for this :D Overall I'm afraid I agree with you, I'm not sure WHY they avoided the death scene if not solely because they want THIS Cloud to be *EXTREMELY* f'd up, from the gamer's perspective. Throughout Remake but ESPECIALLY Rebirth, I've felt that this Cloud is *WAY* more messed up and traumatized than the Cloud we see in the original FF7. And not just because they're presenting it cinematically with better translations. Avoiding the "burial" for narrative reasons... presentation reasons, I'm not sure why. Unless they're genuinely trying to drive home the idea that "she's dead but it's just a changed situation," ala "I see dead people" like you said lol My biggest fear for the "remake" has always been it devolving into a Kingdom Hearts thing, as you pointed out. Hopefully the worst of the KH mishaps were due to Disney studio interference and not Nomura's "lack of vision." Here, aside from Squeenix perhaps being pissed at "low sales," he and Nojima should have more control of the story annnnnd hopefully things will make sense... in the end. Nice bringing up X's "dream" like nature, I was so hyper focused on its relationship with 7 that I forgot that Tidus and Auron were indeed like you said, "dreams." Take care my friend, thanks for talking with me! I wish you all the best.
@@wren7195 Most of KH's issues likely do come down to Disney interference. Such as the Frozen world being... A choice. But there's also the chance that the translations from Japanese to English are a bit wonky, making things more confusing than necessary and also that not everything is revealed yet because the story isn't done. The Sleeping Realm Theory definitely makes KH3 way more forgiving in terms of main plot. As for FF7, I like the direction. I never played nor experienced the OG FF7 (One of those games I just never got growing up and then I just couldn't get past the graphics when I was older). I watched Advent Children once when it came out, don't remember anything from it, but I adore Crisis Core. I absolutely fell in love with Zack as a character from that game. So I adore the direction these games are going, if only because I get to see my precious baby boi once more. I've been able to follow along. And I still got the emotional gutpunch of Aerith's death. I knew Aerith died in OG FF7 (Kinda hard to exist on the internet and NOT have that spoiled), but I didn't have any connection to the scene beyond "This character dies." Of course, I don't want Aerith to die because I fell in love with her character through Crisis Core. But the scene itself holds no value to me. But THIS scene? Seeing Cloud absolutely messed up mentally, seeing brief glimpses of hope interspersed with despair? This gutted me. Regardless of what they do for Part 3, from a storytelling perspective, I feel they did it this way for two reasons: 1) To really show just how messed up Cloud is. And 2) To give the player that brief glimmer of hope. Because a story of loss is a lot more poignant when there's a touch of hope splashed in. So many people question the reason behind something getting a Remake over something simple like a Remaster. Consumers demand there to be a reason behind the Remake beyond milking a franchise and getting more money. Adjusting the story and shifting the vibes, adding in that hope where there otherwise wasn't hope in the original, is something new. It gives old players a fresh experience beyond shiny new graphics and updated gameplay. And it can lead new players to look back at the original game to see how things were different, see what changed.
Thank you! I had some similar thoughts about the Black Materia and Sephiroth's plans, but hadn't picked up on the consciousness playing into Cloud traversing between worlds. This is an amazing analysis & breakdown of all the speculation going forward. Rebirth has re-awoken my FF7 enthusiasm, which even Remake didn't quite manage. Even now, months after playing I keep thinking about the possibilities of Part 3.
I hear from Maximilian dood from one of his theories for the materia the white clear materia it's empty because I remember Red saying in rebirth to Aerith "Materia is made up of memories". Sephiroth spent all of remake making sure that materia does not work which is why it's clear. Cuz Aerith said she was losing a part of her something important is fading or something like that. Clouds Awakening delete into Omni cloud he's going to remember everything. you've done omnislash before you can do it again. Those memories filling up the clear materia which is an interesting theory
Final Fantasy VII rebirth is my game of the year of 2024 I see a Time rift or something close to that in the OG game during clouds Awakening an acid and rebirth the 30 year cook a 30th anniversary could be the release of part 3 but I can be mistaken.
I really enjoyed your theory! The only thing I don’t like about it is Zack joining our party. I feel like I’d rather it play out like OG and use Cid and Tifa during that time. It might be a good time to use Vincent too. I wanna feel the hole Cloud leaves in the party. I don’t want it filled by someone badass haha. I think I’d prefer Zack and Aerith to run around on their own doing whatever they need to do. I’m down for a reunion with the party though! Just not for him to take Cloud’s place. Also, the rapture isn’t a resurrection. It’s a moment when those still living are pulled up into heaven to be with the Lord. So maybe Zack and Aerith will be raptured (even though I personally think they’re dead). Maybe that’s how they’ll “die”.
I really like Zack. But his story is best as the “martyr”. His death is necessary to Cloud’s development. I just hate how they forced him in the plot. I know he’s popular. I know he’s important in setting up the stage for the events of FF7, but it’s not his place to be “alive” in Cloud’s story.
I agree with everything..except zack and aerith together. It was very obvious from the Devs intention of making this a very cloud and aerith centric theme. Also the intentions are clearly communicated. If you get the intimate scene with Aerith she says very clearly - you are not Zack and ans thats okay and i like you. She also doesn't purposely bring up Zack. Aerith both died and lived you are correct. When the merge happens Because Meteror can only be used once.... Aerith will be alive.,..i do think Zack is going to be the one sacrificing himself for Aerith and Cloud.... He takes it like a champ when Marlene tells him Aerith likes cloud. Agree with everything, Zack is a solid character but there has been a massively deliberate emphasis on Claeriths relationship.. I think this ff7 is about love it is just a love story end to end. It has the same spirit of the Og game but it is not the same game.. These devs want to tell a different story. Its about hope. And cloud bringing back aerith is the ultimate OG move. And yes agree with the Omni Slash. You picked up a lot of details but seem to be biased about aerith and Zack. If you look for it. The writings on the wall this is a game about Aerith and Cloud. Tifa is there for the entire simping crowd. Who love to see a chick in a mini skirt be the love interest. Apart from that critique you are spot on regarding the timelines and multiple worlds. There is a lot of emphasis on take my hand in NPTK and then when you look at the intimate date between claerith its communicated by him holding her hand. Then when the world is falling apart she wants to spend time with Cloud on a date chapter 14 dream date. It is a date. When after they have fought Sephiroth. There is a big emphasis on them holding hands again together.... The close up shots etc..... I also think the title rebirth isnt abour Sephiroth reborn but rather Aerith and their fate being reborn because cloud deflected thet sword strike... This is a story about defying fate. Fate as it was set in stone in OG games and now being re written as this marvelous game comes to be... The title rebirth says a lot.
I liked the ending and i like rebirth project. It really activates the same part of my brain the og did when i was 7. I have theories crafted and the fights are legit tough not something i ever saw in the og. Hell i took on ruby and that was more of a puzzle than a tough fight. But i like this cast more than i hate any potential problems it may present. Wait till the 3rd see how it ties together and then a full feeling can be shared about it. For now enjoy the speculation:its a gift to have unanswered questions.
In the end, I don't really care what direction they take the story to. There's no jumping off this train for me. Whether Aerith or Zack dies, I'll be happy with the extra time and depth they gave them. I'll still cry like a little bitch when they off one of them.
Very good analysis, and a very fair one at that. If all of the characters in the compilation are brought in part 3 -- that would be... all from Before Crisis, Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerebus, Advent Children, Dirge of Cerebus Single/Multiplayer, The Kid's will Be Alright, and First Soldier-- part 3 will really go off the rails of course after hitting the main story beats of the original for I believe this trilogy is really a sequel. All the events from the original have already happened. This is what I think could happen. - Glenn will end up being Cloud's father. - Tifa will see Zangan again for her final ability. - Aerith and Zack will live but they will live on in another world together making the ending bittersweet but not before revealing their deaths that had originally happened. - Minerva, Genesis, and Angeal will end up playing a role. - Rufus will play an even more pivotal role in Wutai, this may include his younger brother Evan with his entourage and perhaps we may learn more about Lazard who is another brother of Rufus. - Verdot will reappear with his daughter Elfe and so will all of the other 11 player turks - All of Deep Ground will be involved.
Watching this again, it makes even more sense… Sephiroth being “Omni-Sephiroth” with all of his memories restored at the end game location in part one… a way to bring things full circle. I like it.
This dream world. It really reminds me of the ff12 part 2.5 teaser when the summoner can beckon dreams and also the conjueing of zanardkand and Tidus being brought back from the dream that ended... kinda like ressurecting and if aerith can survive in the new world that was created with the rainbow light. That might be an extension of the white materia
This is an amazing theory and I'm sad that by time the 3rd game is released, I'll most likely have forgotten it. But I do hope that once it is released and if you're right, you make a follow up video to this one. I didn't have much thoughts about the 3rd game except that Aerith's true death was a foregone conclusion because SE knows that her death is THE most impactful event in the entire story. The 'fake-out' happens because this isn't truly the end of her. Can't wait for the doomsayers to eat their words when the 3rd game ties everything together in a neat little bow. *knocks on wood*
I just finally finished it last night myself and was pretty much going through the same thought process as you. lol i like that when thinking about it, without looking it up youtubes like, yo, here, check this out. lmao
Hello. Great video. You had me laughing at some moments because your commentary and editing were funny. The more I think about the ending and all that came with it, the clear materia, the planet screaming, the rift in the sky (which one could see in the Lifestream sequence in OG), the more I believe that we are up to something great with the third installment, just like Hamaguchi has said at a panel this year. To be more clear: I mean he said something among the lines of how the third game will blow us away. Sorry, english isn't my native language but I hope you understand what I mean. I believe that the ending being percieved differently depends on what you are focusing on. If you solely focus on the portrayal of Aerith's death and completely ignore the background stuff like whispers, lifestream and so on, one most likely will say that it was portrayed badly because it didn't have any emotional um... what do you call it? impact? I believe? Which it couldn't have to begin with, in my eyes, because we all know that Aerith died in the game and we knew it was coming. So in that regard Aerith's death scene could be seen as underwhelming or down right disappointing. I also think the ending is something that has to sink in at first. You have to be confused first just to realize how good it is second. How many things happened in such a short amount of time (1 chapter) and how many things are being fore-shadowed.
Dude. Your analyasis was brilliant. I especially liked your onterperetation of Sephiroth as the Lord of this rapture. That is sinister. Its a perfect inversion of his motives in the Meteor summoning, as well as well as incorporating his understanding of the Lifestream gained through his time in it. Brilliant.
Thanks for the vid! I really love the core idea of multiple aspects of Cloud and that just reinforces the Yogacharan and Jungian theories the devs have cited as inspiration. You might be interested in researching some of the differences in the JP and ENG script, as there's some certain terms that are a bit elucidating, particularly Sephiroth's but also the Gi. One such example is that the planet's rapture Sephiroth refers to is called the planet's 祝福 or blessing, though there's even more interesting differences than that. The real question left though, is we have an empty materia with no set purpose now, and if the black materia can destroy and the white materia protect, what could a third do whe it's filled? Infinite possibilities right there in our boy's pocket.
Something I have noticed is if you read the Japanese only document on ff7 that came out before its release... it effectively describes the remake trilogy more than the actual game. Most of the changes we seen that catch us on left field have been "cut ideas" from the original. Barret's death cut because the black man dying first is too predictable. A sizeable chunk of cut scenes from Midgar where Sephiroth torments Cloud, one of which slipped through in the original Japanese release only, where once you step on the 7th heaven hideout elevator you are accosted with a blackout, a gigantic Sephiroth, and a screen Barret and crew standing over you asking what happened and if you're alright. This isn't even touching some of the other aspects, such as the gi story being truncated for development time woes, as it was supposed to have an additional scene around Bugenhagen's death, but that meant it needed more and a resolution and they just didn't have time. It was crucial to be as close to a launch title as possible and they were too far behind even for that, which is why Vincent and Yuffie almost made the chopping blocks.
@@blackrat1228 look up Barret death ff7 development history. They decided early that someone had to die and Barret was the first candidate, but it was too obvious. This was before there was a Tifa. There were the many ultimanias (remake ultimania brings back the reminder that Barret's death is a thing that was going to happen in the og but was too predictable). I'm having trouble finding the 1995/96 Japanese book but I know there's a translation of it, in which Aerith knows about the future. The issue is they had to cut a lot. Look up ff7 cut content, from the honey bee inn to Sephiroth in midgar, to many others.
No surprise there, the OG was developed in a year. I will never understand why purists tout that game as some holy scripture devoid of flaws. Its quite literally riddled with them and cut ideas/things not being properly fleshed out/rushed pay offs etc. What makes the game so special was its scope, cinematic production (at the time), unique steam/cyberpunk modern magic world, memorable and adoring characters, well paced plot twists and surprises and finally snappy turn based gameplay with proper depth and an incentive to explore its world. Oh and the soundtrack ofcourse. Quite literally the game is a classic because of all the ‘game’ bits. But the story is actually its weaker/most incomplete point. Yet purists will spend hours glazing it into this over idealized thing. I get it though, attachment creates seeing the special in the mundane. The game engages strongly and leaves a lasting impression. Ofcourse it would lead people to idealize all of its lesser aspects. But to lack the self awareness that this is whats happening marks allot of these people. The remake series really has made great strides into improving so many of these aspects. And the cost was merely some supposed timeline and whisper stuff. Two elements which could literally become null and void in part 3 when their real meaning is revealed.
I wonder if they had just not bothered using Aerith to open the way to the Black Materia, since it requires an ancient to open it, if everything could have been avoided. Perhaps they would just end up kidnapping her and making her open the way anyway.
Loved your analysis. I dont agree with every bit of speculation you did, but my theory was pretty much in the same direction. Except for the idea of the Omni Cloud. That shit is pretty badass and I didnt think of that. But I love it. I can already see a FFXVI like ending with 7 Clouds tearing Safer Sephiroth (or just Sephiroth) apart.
Gotta remember a Cloud is a perfect Sephiroth "clone". Cloud & Zack & Sephiroth all died in crisis core, Hojo cloned them trying to see if he could make 3 beings like Sephiroth but Jenovah couldnt bond with Zack because of SOLDIER mako exposure it had changed his DNA but Cloud never went through so he is a jenovah-human hybrid and why he can go to other worlds like Sephiroth & Aerith
@mikev8746 nope, play crisis core and pay attention to the part when cloud & Zack are in the lab under the Shinra mansion. Haven't you ever wondered why there was a strange connection between Cloud & Sephiroth, why did cloud attack Arieth & give Sephiroth? Cloud was part of Reunion, don't you remember cloud at the crater begging Hojo to give him a number before the weapons were released? Trust me cloud is a Sephiroth clone body that looks like cloud and has some of clouds memories & some of Zack's memories
Great breakdown! For me it's still very confusing how Zack came with unconscious Cloud to Midgar where everyone knows Cloud as a mercenary and after him doing all he did in Remake part
Let's assume you're right about everything you said. Even then, 1-) The jebait where she lives was not only dumb and badly executed, it is disrespectful to the audience AND to Hironobu Sakaguchi's mother; 2-) All of the cheap marvel multiverse ex machina could have been executed without completely removing ALL of the stakes from the story. ie: establishing that Zack is dead in the Lifestream would not change anything on how they did things except they chose shock value surprise instead and as a consequence death doesn't mean anything anymore in FF7R. In conclusion, Square will not see the color of my money ever again and I highly recommend people to not give Nomura any more money to work with.
Square might not see your money anymore but still has a firm grip on your time since you seemed to have wasted 32 minutes and probably an additional 8 typing this rant out on a game they made, you dont even like. Rent free is the term I think? 😂 Seriously FF7R haters will always dumbfound me. You all hate these games and modern SE. Yet you spend so much mental energy on whining and arguing about it. You start entire FF7 OG playthroughs that coincides with releases of Remake or Rebirth just to cope. Square and these games dictate your lives bro.
wow your theory about Aerith also die again in part three is😱 I hope this is what gonna happen in part three nice video👍 I'm looking for more crazy theorys about this game
12:34 She died in OG in another timeline she lived and it can go on a continued path on repeat since there are multiple worlds except the ones she gets killed by Sephiroth
THIS IS SO COOOLLL I LOVE YOUR THEORY and I completely agree with you final fantasy 7 is just amazing and I think they are still doing amazing with the remake. Thank you for this I hope this theory is correct! Some people are just hating because they can’t understand good complex stories lmao As I watched the gameplay as someone who’s also seen the original I think they’ve been doing so well and people need to understand to trust the story everything will make sense it’s not over LOLL obviously it’s not perfect but nothing is and I think that it in fact does make sense and when you realise things your like “SQUARE ENIX IS EPIC”
Just subscribed to your channel after seeing your video. So many good points and ideas and such a nice editing. You are very talented. Hope to see you discussing your ideas with Sleepezi and BBseal. You would be a great addition to SealTeam7 in my opinion!!! Question for a future video: what about the white materia and the empty materia? Any thoughts on that?
Thanks for the Sub! Really appreciate it! I've thought about the white materia but haven't come up with anything worth talking about at this point. If I do, I'll probably make a video about it.
Irrelevant comment here but has anyone else noticed that whenever Cloud switches to punisher mode he holds his claymore like broadsword like young Obi Wan Kenobi?
Interesting theory, didn't pick on the "seven" parallel worlds. I like it. BTW, the word "confluence" feels like it has deeper meaning if you draw on it's literal definition: the junction of two (or more) rivers/streams. In this case, a reunion of lifestreams converging into a single lifestream. It does seem to be drawing alot of influence from FFXIV and the 14 shards. Just hope you're wrong about Aerith/Zack dying again in part 3, I want them to live :) ------------------------------ Off-key rant incoming, but IMO, it's probably still too early to predict what's going to happen in part 3, too many details still missing (and probably still being brainstormed by the writers). - Is time travel involved? Sephiroth's dialogue seemingly points to that, the 7 seconds until the end, asking Cloud if he had fun (I think we'd heard that line before in the remake game). Multiverse and shared memories might explain alot, but not who originally broke fate in the remake and created all those alternate realities with at least 6 Stamps. - On that note, is Omni-Aerith also a time traveler? Sephiroth seems to be looking for that Aerith, specifically, while mostly ignoring the others. I suspect she made the switch with the "original" remake Aerith during the train station ghost scene (the dialogue between her and Tifa, "We've got you!", followed by a thoughtful Aerith look "You certainly do."), but rebirth Aerith is shown to be mostly clueless, except during the dream sequence. - I also suspect we're seeing two Clouds, the original rebirth one (short haired violent one with green eyes, slightly catlike, similar to Last Order OVA), and the Cloud in the wheel chair (longer hairbangs, bluer eyes, rounder pupils, kinder). Is wheelchair Cloud going to travel back in time and make those subtle changes to the rebirth storyline that don't seem to fit the OG? - As a player/viewer, I feel like I'm being purposely tricked, Westworld style. It may seem like it's only one timeline, but it might actually be 2. Maybe more if Sephiroth's also messing around with the timeline (that'd explain Schrödinger's Aerith, Cloud and Sephiroth repeatedly going back in time to ensure she lives/dies). As long-haired Cloud says when he starts fighting Jenova "I've done this before, I can do this again." - Also, what's up with 12 year-old Tifa in a trance going beeline into the reactor housing Jenova, looking for her "mother"? And now she's communicating with the Weapons? Even in the OG it was weird how she could navigate inside the lifestream and pick Cloud's memories apart (a trait the Ancients aren't supposed to have, only Jenova and Sephiroth). I understand that alot of it probably came about because Tifa didn't exist until very late in production, and she essentially inherited the Aerith part that was supposed to be Sephiroth's sister, an idea that they've dropped in the final version of the OG. But now they seem to be doubling down on that idea again. Is there going to be a big Tifa reveal in part 3? ------------------------------ Anyway, loved your video. Liked and subscribed, will watch more when you make them.
Since it's pretty much established, there are multiple realities to the FF7 World. Here is something to ponder about. At the beginning of FF7:Rebirth, Zack and Cloud, wander into a Midgard where the Party loses at the end of FF7:REMAKE. Ask yourself these things: How did the party meet in Midgard if Cloud was not with them? Cloud is the reason the party comes together during Midgard. But Cloud was with Zack. How do we KNOW that reality is actually Zacks original reality? What if Zack and Cloud wandered into the reality where the party loses at the end of FF7:REMAKE? Recall this: At the beginning of Rebirth, there is a Shinra Soldier stating they are looking for an "Ex-Soldier with a Buster Sword". Given what we know now, are we all assuming that Shinra Soldier is referring to Zack? Or is that soldier referring to that realities Cloud? And if that soldier is referring to that realities Cloud, then where the hell did THAT Cloud go?
I have trouble latching onto the "multiple worlds" theory and all of the complicated logic that comes along with it, but there is a lot of evidence presented in the game to support that (namely Stamp and the rift in the sky). A theory that I prefer is that all this confusion is purposefully created by Sephiroth to further break down Cloud's psyche. At this moment in the game, Cloud is the definition of an unreliable narrator - Sephiroth has already influenced him to attack Tifa and pursue Aerith, and we know that this manipulation culminates in the handing over of the black materia, which is scheduled to take place in the next game's story. We're stuck in a weird moment in time where Cloud is determined to protect the planet, yet hasn't relinquished Sephiroth/Jenova's influence over him, nor has he even realized that his memories of being a war hero are simply inherited from Zack and that he was just a nameless infantryman. It's inevitable that the party will attempt to confront Cloud about being the only one who claims that Aerith is still alive, potentially further contributing to his isolation and sense of instability. I think this is also why he hides the black materia - which he falsely believes to be the white materia - in his buster sword. Sephiroth is using his trust in Aerith to confuse and manipulate Cloud, and by extension us, in his elaborate plan to have Cloud join him - similar to how he beckoned to him to "defy destiny together" at the end of Remake. I don't know how this fits into anything with Zack or the other worlds that Aerith and Cloud visited, but it makes me feel better about the main timeline the game is taking place in - Cloud might end up being just as confused as us, he just hasn't been confronted on it yet.
I agree with your take on rebirth and the direction the third game will go in. I am curious what you think about RedXIII being able to sense Aerith at the end of the game. Not many people seem to pick up on that little clue, but he did say that he could sense the future like Aerith could, till the end of the first game.
It's hard to say exactly.... This is the one thing that could throw my whole theory out the window. My guess is he can sense her because of whatever power she exerted on him from the first game. Remember in the first game, he was quite rabid and then Aerith "touched" him and then he came to his senses? I'm guessing she made some interdimensional connection with him at that point. That's my best guess.
Oh, oh, oh. I figured it out. So jenova's blood in victims causes the dark whispers. Where as the white whispers are like the cetra and denivens of the life stream. That's how he can travel through victims of hojo, that have the impure taint that the life stream most likely doesn't accept.
He controls them, just like he controls the people. Jenova has power over their souls and life force now. That's how he uses them at the end, as his power. Your welcome 😊
Nice! That sounds correct. I do recall there being scenes where they explain that the lifestream doesn't accept souls of people that weren't born from the planet itself and since they were tainted with the blood of jenova, they wouldn't go back to the lifestream so instead of disappearing into thin air, Sephiroth is claiming their souls as whispers of the planet. Was there any mention of whispers being dead souls by any chance that maybe I missed? If so, then that almost 100% confirms your theory then. Either way, I think you've figured it out.
First off, Cloud was already a badarse in CC when he killed Sephiroth with superhuman strength before being captured and experimented on. You, me, and everyone else are in stage one because no one is supposed to figure this out and the Devs planned it that way. I liked your beginning analysis, then you really humored me with the Black Materia theory. (The Gi are the true counterpart for they are not bound to the planet.) To dangle the carrot of Aerith’s fate is a dangerous move on Square’s behalf since the older fan base petitioned Nomura to bring Aerith back. They’re toying with an already divided fan base and there are a lot of fans who want her to live. Why add arbiters of fate who change destiny and if we get the same outcome in a remake and not just a remastered game? As a fan for 27 years, I would be pissed if Aerith ends up dying in the finale when you have Zack, Marlene, Red and Barett (GS dates) warning Cloud to save Aerith. “Seven seconds til the end, what will you do, Cloud?” He literally is given a chance. Aerith knows her fate this time. She also says to Cloud regarding her future self, “Can’t say when you’ll meet, but trust me, you’ll love her.” (Costa Del Sol Beach) Cloud has Zack’s SOLDIER attributes, but his memory loss/gain is a result of Jenova S-cells (Sephiroth). Cloud is Cloud- not Zack! Sephiroth at the beginning of the end battle, “I’ve underestimated you…” He obviously sees Aerith ready to fight alongside Cloud. At the very end, Cid casually asks, “What did Aerith do?” No one really knows what is going on in the end. I find it strange that no one in the group says, “Hey Cloud, who are you talking to?” before boarding onto the now fully-functional plane. Aerith says, “It’s like a second home.” ??? As for the song, Loren Allred said that she studied both Aerith and Cloud for “No Promises”. There is no mention of Zack. I don’t see that song about Zack when Aerith is literally looking at Cloud before singing it. It’s about chance- not fate. This is where the script of Loveless aligns with her song and the future plot. Cloud’s Hollow song aligns with Aerith in AC. Zack never heals Cloud, so Hollow is NOT Cloud singing about Zack. You mention nothing about the White Materia refilling or the Promised Land, which is a huge mystery in FF7 that the Shinra want to find. Cloud at the end of OG, “I know I can find her (Aerith) in the Promised Land.” Aerith said the Promised Land isn’t the Temple. If the Promised Land is the Lifestream, then why do those that go into the Lifestream keep dying, like Biggs and Wedge did? Is Jessie stuck between worlds with her father? No one knows- stage one.
@@mikev8746If you’re referring to me, I think the Devs are brilliant- brilliant enough to cause all of these silly theories, including mine. I am a huge fan of Nojima, so I’ll be fine with whatever the outcome is. I think Cloud will die… there’s the plot twist. He’s the only one who can stop Sephiroth/Jenova and keep civilization ongoing after 500 years (so it’s been speculated). The Loveless poem and performance holds a lot of insight. Cloud dies (Zack’s fate is already marked) and that will end the shipping wars. The devs can move on from VII to remake X since they’ve expanded VII to death 😂 especially with all of the prequels. But who knows? Like I always say, there is nothing final about final fantasy.
@Locustskies I completely agree with your analysis. People have become to numb and dumb to not see the writing on the wall. This isn the OG game. This is a game with it's own spirit that gives brilliant nods to the original. Everything evolves with time so has story telling. It's so evident all the multiple timelines. Ultimately this FF7 remake trilogy is a love story between aerith and cloud and people will learn to see that soon. The multiple timelines are so evident with stamp and NPTK is for cloud.. ultimately the reunion will happen aerith will be present. Cloud will use the Omni slash to put an end to sepheroth and they cloud and aerith will ride off into the sunset. Developers have already shown Zack handling it like a champ that aerith likes someone else now... Also the hands... I'm forgetting the japanese word but in japanese culture holding hands is a sign of true deep lovers love. Which is what is portrayed throughout the game. During the date scene , during NPTK ( so obvious ) aerith literally looks at cloud and he's so smitten. But she mentions holding hands then again during the finale etc that close up of holding hands after beating sepheroth. The timelines were introduced because they want to show aerith and clouds love being eternal.
@@Gamingforfunpeace Yes! The Japanese version is much more clear about Cloud’s true feelings for Aerith. I guess the Devs favor Tifa to appease the Western civilization fan base. My AC copy isn’t the extended Japanese version and that holds so much more detail regarding Cloud’s feelings/torment (even though I always knew that they are the main protagonists and loved each other). I hope that they give players a choice at the end so that everyone gets what they want. But I worry about that line in the original FF7 trailer, “A LOVE that can never be.” Act five in LOVELESS poem vs Act three in the performance hints to someone’s demise/return. Cloud may die saving her because he is linked to Sephiroth. If he dies, so does Seph. He stalks Aerith from timeline to timeline so if Cloud can end him, she could live but that would be a parallel to what Cloud had experienced after the OG events. If she is dead, then I want Cloud to die so they can be together evermore- like her song says. I don’t want Cloud to continue to suffer and be hollow like he has been always running away and searching for Aerith in AC, Mobius, WoFF, Dissidia, and Nojima’s OtWtaS. That would be the ultimate sacrifice to save someone you love. Aerith is so full of life and deserves to live after what will be 30 years from the original 🥲
It really doesn't matter how good the game is at this point. 7R was marketed as a faithful upscale remake and what was delivered was a semi-sequel spinoff. It's the misrepresentation (lying) which put most people off. Honestly the game could have still worked if they had released it as a complete product, but if you hand someone a glass of orange juice and tell them its soda they're gonna want to spit it out no matter how much they love orange juice.
Just when I was already thinking the OG and the Remakes are already convoluted as it I thought I understood a good amount but as usual, casual gamer just in it for the ride. I like your convincing theories and plot points. Here’s to hoping third and final installment clears it and checks a lot of your boxes! 👍 you need more subscribers. Lemme add +1 to your channel
I do think that aerith is completely dead and what you see is her spirit and not someone from a different world. I do think that she will get fully absorbed into the lifestream when cloud has fully defeated sephiroth and the timelines/worlds correct itself, and the same thing happens to zack.
threads of fate, the whispers, the multiverse, right out of Kingdome Hearts... Which is Nomura's baby, and this is of course tied into Advent Children which was also Nomura's baby... This is what Nomura would have done with FF7, and its bad... I hate the multiverse idea in comics and the who concept of the threads of fate. If anything can happen, and in some alternate reality does happen than anything can be undone which mean nothing has any meaning. Is Aerith dead, in this reality maybe, but in another reality she's not so we can go get her from another reality and she's alive again, CONGRATS YOU JUST MADE THE CONSEQUENCES OF ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS IN YOUR GAME MEANINGLESS.
Great video my friend, gladly subscribed. I'm very sick and medicated but I'd like to say/ask a few things, if you'll give me the time. This'll be long, so I apologize. The creators have said this series is a sequel, so there's a lot of nuts to unpack in that when theory-crafting, lol so I won't dwell on that. Just wanted to make sure that nugget was in the mix. It's also been said that (I think.......hm I *THINK* Maximillian DOOD was the one who said it, but it might've been someone else, nothing official though if I remember correctly) part of the reason there is a "multiple worlds" scenario is that it gives them the ability to make what was originally a very linear story that, although it had massive story-beat battles, still felt like a mostly complete gaming experience with each chapter. I HAVE heard that the developers were concerned about just breaking 7 into parts wouldn't fully deliver, that statement is true so it's logical that they've added a lot in order to "do tha thang." The "Multiple Clouds, One Fragmented Mind" Theory you've created is great. It would very much fit in with what we've seen, and I'd be ecstatic (rapturous, even...) if they went with that. One thing that interests me greatly is the fact that Sephiroth from Advent Children wanted to kill Cloud, but THIS "Omni-Sephiroth" says "Nor would I have you end." So if the theory floating around that this is post-Advent Children Sephiroth, he for some reason feels that Cloud is like an anchor, or vital to him in some way differently from just J-Cell enhanced projects, because Cloud was always the only one who ever fully "beat him." And perhaps Cloud being alive, even cured by Aerith from Geostigma, remains Sephiroth's one permanent link to any reality. Something different from Jenova, but in some way even more connective. Aerith and Zack as well seem to be part of this loop, because Zack somehow imparting "himself" into Cloud supposedly just because of Jenova and Mako experiments? And a pre-"SOLDIER" Cloud being the only one to defeat Sephiroth at Nibelheim? I think we might as a community be glossing over those things a bit too easily. (Reminder that Geostigma was a result of the enormous amount of Jenova's essence, having been successfully grafted into normal people en mass, allowed her will/spirit/essence to be absorbed into THIS Planet's Lifestream. This game goes out of its way to explain that the Gi are from "somewhere else," and therefore they're rejected by the Lifestream. Somehow Jenova's parasitic nature allowed her into the Lifestream after Hojo's many experiments died, leading to the Geostigma. A disease affecting many, like a toxin, but also being a part of Sephiroth's resurrection or "second Advent," second coming, due to the "children." There is likely a LOT more regarding that, I'd be delighted to hear what you think. I've not heard this discussed anywhere else yet, but being sick I may've just missed it. The game uses the Gi specifically to explain "aliens are not welcome to the Lifestream" as well as "such malice necessary to create such a destructive Materia did not come from the Ancients or the Planet." Jenova is extremely alien, but thanks to Hojo mostly she DID merge, scattered yes, with our Lifestream. Aerith, Zack, and Cloud's connection with each other but ALSO with Sephiroth will prove a bit of a miscalculation on Jenova's part perhaps.) Thanks for listening! Again, great video! Shubshcribed happily. Oh one more thing, forgive me as I do not mean this negatively at all, (I was an English Comp teacher in training before my illness knocked me out) "conscience" is your internal measure of "right and wrong," whereas "consciousness" is your mental awareness, sense of self, and state of being "awake." I only bring this up because I've noticed a lot of folk online are using "conscience" in place of or as a synonym for "consciousness," and that's unfortunately not the case. I mean NO disrespect by trying to point this out, only want to educate. My friend, and anyone else who reads all of this, MUCH thanks and best wishes. Let's have a few Cosmo Canyons and play some cards together! Take care, and thanks for your wonderful thoughtful video. :) EDIT: Oh one last thought, I wonder if Sephiroth meant that the true counterpart to the Black Materia was actually Aerith's WHITE Materia, which had been somehow hidden... and that maybe he had discovered/thought that what he really needed now was both of them in concert, rather than just Meteor. Hmm.
Thanks for the sub! Yeah, I don't know where this idea that the creators have claimed this trilogy is a sequel when all they've ever said is it's a reimagining of sorts and that it's going to contain all of the stuff from the original. Now, I originally wasn't sure if it was a sequel or not at the end of Remake, but I'm completely convinced after Rebirth that it's not a sequel at all. Which I intend to make a video about that at some point. Nomura even said that it should "link up with advent children" and when he said that he was referring to "if you play all 3 games". Not just Rebirth. Thanks for the tip on conscious vs. conscience. I am a bit of a stickler about writing and grammar at times even though I didn't major in English. I just searched my script for the video and I never once wrote "conscience". All of the instances I wrote are "conscious" or "unconscious" but maybe I pronounced it that way without realizing it during the video. Hope you feel better!
@@FaustFantasy An "unconscious" mistake my friend! And again, I meant no animousity, please forgive me. Just been seeing it SO often that I was concerned in my stupidity. Thanks for the well-wishes, I'm going to be stuck with what I've got till the end unfortunately, but it's part of the reason I appreciate good stories and people, in books, and games. Really looking forward to your vid on Nomura's AC comment, and what you think that really meant for THIS series! Those'r some fun stuffs, and I really enjoy your productions and thoughts. I personally LIKE longer videos, and although I don't know anything about how youtube does its stuff, maybe you could do like shorter versions of the same vids for folk who aren't like me? Dunno man, I just wish you well and I enjoy the longer formats, but peep's attention spans right now can get quad-lapped by a chocobo. @@wren7195 The youtube algorithm is complicated, but most important factor is retention rate. If you can make a 30 minute video that is interesting and retaining people's attention for even half the video, youtube will be infinitely more likely to recommend to other users than a video that's 4 minutes and has the same percentage of retention. The tricky part is successfully retaining the user's attention in a longer video. This video has definitely done that though as it's by far my most successful video so far. But in short, the videos are going to be the necessary length that they need to be. If a topic only takes 2 minutes to get the point across, then it will be 2 minutes. If it needs to be 1 hour, then it will be 1 hour. That's the plan.

The rainbow effect might not mean a creation of the world but rather the signature of a path. When the worlds merge back in the end, which path will Cloud take?
5:28 I suspect youll address it, but Sephiroth specufies that the worlds are created and disappear in fleeting fashion. Aerith demonstrates this with the choices on the date. You only get one choice, and when made the world changes. Each choice Zack makes creates another world. 8:13 Seems sound. In fact, consider this.. Sephiroth steps up to the alter of his mother, announces himself ad "your son", and tosses aside the cross (the idolized facsimile of Jenova) to reach Jenova (Jenovah = God and Nova = New, rearrange for Japanese writing and her name is literally New God). Jenova is best compared to The Spirits Within, "alien gaia" where gaia is used in place of lifestream or spirit. The fact that Jenova has its own lifestream, as plastered all over Dirge, and that this purple-black lifestream is also mentioned all over ff7's novels and the movie script (whiteout is the white world/lifestream and blackout is the black world/lifestream), and showcased in the OG really sets a precedent. In Dirge we also learn that when a planet dies, it culls all lifestream and funnels it into an Omega weapon, to be launched into space which intends to inject this collected lifestream into a new lifeless rock, thereby rebirthing that planet (curiously it was referred to as three things, including rebirth and remake). I recall seeing somewhere that it isnt known how many times Jenova has hopped from world to world using them as vessels. Back to spirits within, the goal of the alien gaia is to rebirth the alien world by forcefully merging with Earth, thereby uniting them..you know, when worlds merge. Its also kind of funny, the flower saved by Dr. Ross has a striking resemblance, and the spirits try to kill it. Jenova's offspring sich as Loz find flowers and the planet's life to be gross.. Sephiroth said the barren and almost alien-like nature of Mt. Nibel where Jenova was found to be...beautiful. Something he has never said about other landscapes far less alien...
Great Video! I really enjoyed it a lot... However, their is one thing i don't like and thats the part where you think/theorized that Zack and Aerith will be brought back and die together again in part 3. I feel like that is just bad writing and it wouldn't necessarily make sense to bring back zack and Aerith and spend all that time making it happen... Just to kill them off again...
I can't see Zack joinging the party in Cloud's place. There would be too much to reconcile, Zack has his own history with some of these characters plus it's unlikely they'll just accept and trust him as leader or even member of their group so quickly. That'd almost be an entire story in itself. That's the story reason but on top of that, replacing Cloud with a character who is essentially the same save for hair colour (I'm talking gameplay wise) very much takes away from the impact of losing your main character for a good stretch of the game. I want Zack to have an impact somehow but I can't see it happening this way. Anyway cool video, cool theories, I'm not on board with everything but nothing is really off the table, right?
The whole dialogue complexity of Zack appearing and the entire party having to meet/reunite with him also makes me uncertain. I think it would be better if Zack/Aerith do their own thing and only Cloud/maybe Tifa see them somehow for a bit before they fade away into the lifestream or however they wish to do it. Zack being the new leader for a couple chapters just sounds overly complicated to land story wise. And runs the risk of diluting Cloud and his archetype. As you said.
Amazing video! 😃 There was a lot going on in that ending, and it was great how you broke it all down. The Cloud having one consciousness moving between worlds makes a lot of sense. I also like how it can fit in with so many parts of the original game when Cloud is out of it. For instance, when we see Cloud in Mideel, which will presumably happen in Part 3 like you say. Thanks for the video. 😎
Schrödinger's Flower Girl! :O I did not play OG, just recently Remake, CC and Rebirth. Loved it, cannot wait for Part 3! x) Edit: After playing Crisis Core (between Remake and Rebirth) I had a hard time to romance Aerith because of Zack. x) I also wanted Zack back so bad - hopefully in Part Three! x) Had to cut the Video because I thought of Rebirth Spoilers, not Part 3. Will come back later tho. xD
Thank you for mentioning your concern regarding spoilers from OG. I often forget about that and just assume that internet folks are the diehard crowd that have probably already played it, but that's probably wrong of me to assume. I will likely put disclaimers of potential part 3 spoilers in future videos.
The story pretty much plays out the same in OG with an added fluff in both Remake and Rebirth, but they also show some of the events from the original game. OG is good, but it has tons of plot holes that never was truly explained because of the development time took a lot longer because they were new to the 3D development.
Its gotten to the point that they need to not take forever with the next part and we see the conclusion of this. Because like the first game, i overall enjoy the entire game EXCEPT the final portion/battle because it goes from Ff7 to Kingdom Hearts 3 level of nonsense and metaphysical messaging this game attempts to do. Fuck timelines and fuck whispers. Im just tired of the guessing and theorizing game. But the journey throughout the game from the Golden Saucer Date, Getting to see Vincent, all the interactions with the character side quests is one i can say im glad I took my time with. I only hope like how Rebirth improved on the combat and exploration (to an extent) from the first game, the final part will improve further and maybe add some innovative elements. Maybe with the full story complete, alot of the tired confusion and frustration i have with whispers can be answered. Praying to Gaia that this is to be true 🙏🏾. P.s: my saucer date with Tifa better be canon date it!!!!
Ya what bothers me most is the devs said they felt the need to include whispers and alternate timelines because they were concerned that the remake would be too similar to the original and bore OG fans. But in reality, everything about the remake is already soooo different without those inclusions, it still would have felt fresh. All the new dialogue and interactions, the inclusion of voice acting and body language, seeing environments fully realized in high fidelity, new side quests, mini games, and mechanics. It's so different. So different. They really, really didn't need plot ghosts and time travel. The remake series was already far and away their own thing
I havent played the game so im speaking as a Rebirth outsider. But ff7 original is still there. That story is going nowhere. I dont mind them trying to give us something just as good but different. Hopefully it does hold up in the quality department.
Your take aligns itself pretty well with my own. The only part I disagreed with was the shipping angle. For me the three best decisions Square Enix can do is this, don't display heavy shipping throughout the main game unless player choice is involved if completing their affinity stats or selecting dialogue in the option wheel (including Zack and Aerith). And secondly, have the main character Cloud make the final call with the player ultimately making that choice. It would be multiple choice and various outcomes but I believe it wouldn't stir up the fan base as a "definitive pairing" would. The last option still on the table is once the game is wrapping up after the defeat Sephiroth... They could also leave it ambitious who Cloud might possibly love and who Zack might love. That aspect is needed for this giant fan community with loads of shipping takes. By making decisions be gifted to the player they feel 'heard' or like they have a say in the game and it's just a wonderful a system. Square always had multi choices imbedded into Final Fantasy 7 so just keep that system and amplify it with the potential final decision of who these characters love. Great video, I'll share it with my friend when she finally completes it
He never mentioned anything about shipping? Wtf dude. Also the fact thats all you took out of this entire goldmine of part 3 story speculation leads me to wonder, what are you afraid off? Clearly asking for playing choice means you want to be able to make some sort of choice and you fear if its not player choice you will be out of luck.
@@mikev8746 I posted my comment 4 weeks ago and since that time I been consumed with other videos as well as life so I truly can't remember if the person who made this video mentioned shipping. There's a chance I misunderstood... Maybe it was how they worded themselves made me think they alluded to pairing. I'm am sorry if I made an error. I might rewatch the video again soon. As for the, "what are you afraid off" point, it's just the fear the 3rd game won't be handled well. I want to go into the last game and hope it's good. I just have this nagging feeling it might not exceed my expectations. I have to keep telling myself it's not my narrative it's the developers.. so I must not dwell on aspects I have no control over. Thank you for your reply; I truly needed a fellow fan to point out some of my flaws. In this instance I viewed it was helpful.
Probably better to look up words in a dictionary rather than Wikipedia. As a noun it means "a feeling of intense pleasure or joy" as in the phrase "the performance was met with rapturous applause". Sephiroth says "her ecstatic cries; her rapture" as a consolidation of his belief this is a good thing. He's not referencing the Christian rapture (which wouldn't make sense in this context anyway). On the plus side, at least you didn't confuse it with the New York dance punk band.
Everyone alive, all together, happy days. Couldn't think of a worse ending. Why do so many people think there are X amount of worlds. By virtue of the mechanic by which other worlds come about, there are an infinite amount. Why does no one address that Zack retains consciousness between different worlds? Zacks in the Lifestream. Furthermore, no one aware of the fact that the theme introduced in this series is free will versus determinism. You're slapped in the first with it through both games. It's the entire narrative of Zack's actions.
Nomura games are confusing start middle and end. No point trying to make sense of it, there is no sense to make. Be like if butters from South park tried to write a story... Which he did 😆
I'm calling it now they're gonna bring Aerith and Zack into the main story and continue with an FF7 sequel series, that may or may not bomb. I'm not particularly hyped for it cause it seems like every legacy franchise crashes and burns these days.

is tifa going to save cloud in part 3?
@@RyanOstrowski-eh6ft Yeah I think it's largely going to play out the same as it did in the original. Tifa is still going to dive into the lifestream and help Cloud recover his memories.
@@FaustFantasy but why is tifa having mental flashes in rebirth?
@@RyanOstrowski-eh6ft What mental flashes are you talking about?
@@FaustFantasy when tifa has mental flashes in her trial and at the forgotten capital?
Oh thats actually a great point I didnt read anywhere yet! That could work.
Oh my God! I think you nailed it wirh the one true black materia and only summoning Meteor once theory.
Ok I only disagree with the fact that NPTK is for Zack, I mean like come on man its so obviously for Cloud
Yup, the devs confirmed it's about her feelings toward Cloud.
NPTK 😂😂
Holy moly we’re giving a song an abbreviation now. The clinging to redundant notions has officially achieved Nomura levels
The song was confirmed by Kazushige Nojima to be about everyone she cherishes 😅
I totally agree with this sentiment..NPTK is for cloud
@@Quiettekiyet Its linked to Hollow, read it and see for yourself.
This seems to heavily contradict the more popular timeline theory though
ua-cam.com/video/fr-44rjRZvg/v-deo.htmlsi=eNWOEkqPuzPPKOSQ
Sorry, thunderstorm brb lol *shakes her head*
Okies back.
Oh that thing over there, that's like that random kerosene heater that an old ass girl like me would recognize, of course it's in Don Corneo's place (there's one in the Honeybee Inn's dressing room too though, gotta love UR4's generics....)
Drew I think I might be drunk.
I think it's more likely we'll see that burial scene either at the Northern Crater, where Cloud finally breaks, or it will be in the lifestream segment when Cloud is put back together."
But...
But the mind goes on."
The lifestream worlds are full of people that are alive and well though, like Elmyra, Marlene and Johnny.
@@koklusz89 Oooo I love long comments, thanks for this :D
Overall I'm afraid I agree with you, I'm not sure WHY they avoided the death scene if not solely because they want THIS Cloud to be *EXTREMELY* f'd up, from the gamer's perspective.
Unless they're genuinely trying to drive home the idea that "she's dead but it's just a changed situation," ala "I see dead people" like you said lol
My biggest fear for the "remake" has always been it devolving into a Kingdom Hearts thing, as you pointed out. Hopefully the worst of the KH mishaps were due to Disney studio interference and not Nomura's "lack of vision." Here, aside from Squeenix perhaps being pissed at "low sales," he and Nojima should have more control of the story annnnnd hopefully things will make sense... in the end.
Nice bringing up X's "dream" like nature, I was so hyper focused on its relationship with 7 that I forgot that Tidus and Auron were indeed like you said, "dreams."
Take care my friend, thanks for talking with me!
I think it would be cool if Zack helped cloud retrieve his memories
Idk man. Maybe I'm just way off in my analysis, but i honestly didn't find the ending confusing at all. I don't understand why people do.
- Verdot will reappear with his daughter Elfe and so will all of the other 11 player turks
- All of Deep Ground will be involved.
Hell nah... just... naaaah.
@@SnuSnu91 Hell yea... just... yeeeah
You cooked here, especially your speculation on Cloud’s arc
So then is Cloud Neo and the planet is the Matrix and Sephiroth is Agent Smith
This video is very convincing for haters of the trilogy. I think the community has softened since. There’s a lot to look forward to
Such a great explanation my dude , thanks for the video
I just finally finished it last night myself and was pretty much going through the same thought process as you. lol i like that when thinking about it, without looking it up youtubes like, yo, here, check this out. lmao
13:51 bro, Sephiroth isn't a Cetra
This makes so much sense. You sir, are a genius. I cannot see any other way for this trilogy to go now.
Great Video. I think you hit the nail on the head
Cloud's consciousness can rain into other worlds.
Since cloud is in multiple worlds I was thinking that multiple sethiroths will team up to get stronger. Great theory
Clouds sword in advent children 6 pieces combine into one basically the same as your versions of cloud theory
yeah nice caught 😀 I didn't notice that
Great video so far. Thanks for your thoughts!
Thank YOU for watching!
Where can I read this? I tried some rudimentary searches but came up empty.
This game was fun and it took my second playthrough to piece together everything
Nice comforter. I like the colors and shapes. Now I'll actually watch the video.
Dude.. Cloud and Zack survived that initial night. Only Sephiroth died 😂 What game have you played? 😂😂
@mikev8746
nope, play crisis core and pay attention to the part when cloud & Zack are in the lab under the Shinra mansion.
Let's assume you're right about everything you said. Even then, 1-) The jebait where she lives was not only dumb and badly executed, it is disrespectful to the audience AND to Hironobu Sakaguchi's mother;
2-) All of the cheap marvel multiverse ex machina could have been executed without completely removing ALL of the stakes from the story. ie: establishing that Zack is dead in the Lifestream would not change anything on how they did things except they chose shock value surprise instead and as a consequence death doesn't mean anything anymore in FF7R.
In conclusion, Square will not see the color of my money ever again and I highly recommend people to not give Nomura any more money to work with.
Nice incoherent rant. It’s not a multiverse. See you when part 3 comes out.
Square might not see your money anymore but still has a firm grip on your time since you seemed to have wasted 32 minutes and probably an additional 8 typing this rant out on a game they made, you dont even like. Rent free is the term I think? 😂
Seriously FF7R haters will always dumbfound me. You all hate these games and modern SE. Yet you spend so much mental energy on whining and arguing about it. You start entire FF7 OG playthroughs that coincides with releases of Remake or Rebirth just to cope. Square and these games dictate your lives bro.
wow your theory about Aerith also die again in part three is😱 I hope this is what gonna happen in part three
nice video👍 I'm looking for more crazy theorys about this game
12:34 She died in OG in another timeline she lived and it can go on a continued path on repeat since there are multiple worlds except the ones she gets killed by Sephiroth
So, the theory is that messing with a canon event creates an alternate reality? Got it.
THIS IS SO COOOLLL I LOVE YOUR THEORY and I completely agree with you final fantasy 7 is just amazing and I think they are still doing amazing with the remake. Thank you for this I hope this theory is correct!
Some people are just hating because they can’t understand good complex stories lmao
As I watched the gameplay as someone who’s also seen the original I think they’ve been doing so well and people need to understand to trust the story everything will make sense it’s not over LOLL obviously it’s not perfect but nothing is and I think that it in fact does make sense and when you realise things your like “SQUARE ENIX IS EPIC”
I guarantee that the end fight of FF7 part 3 will have the Cody Christian cloud strife team up with the original AC FF7 cloud voiced by STEVE BURTON
Just hope you're wrong about Aerith/Zack dying again in part 3, I want them to live :)
------------------------------
Off-key rant incoming, but IMO, it's probably still too early to predict what's going to happen in part 3, too many details still missing (and probably still being brainstormed by the writers).
As long-haired Cloud says when he starts fighting Jenova "I've done this before, I can do this again."
- Also, what's up with 12 year-old Tifa in a trance going beeline into the reactor housing Jenova, looking for her "mother"? And now she's communicating with the Weapons? Even in the OG it was weird how she could navigate inside the lifestream and pick Cloud's memories apart (a trait the Ancients aren't supposed to have, only Jenova and Sephiroth). I understand that alot of it probably came about because Tifa didn't exist until very late in production, and she essentially inherited the Aerith part that was supposed to be Sephiroth's sister, an idea that they've dropped in the final version of the OG. But now they seem to be doubling down on that idea again. Is there going to be a big Tifa reveal in part 3?

Anyway, loved your video. Liked and subscribed, will watch more when you make them.
Thanks for the sub!
Very well explained and very plausible. Thank you.
(The Gi are the true counterpart for they are not bound to the planet.)
To dangle the carrot of Aerith’s fate is a dangerous move on Square’s behalf since the older fan base petitioned Nomura to bring Aerith back.
She also says to Cloud regarding her future self, “Can’t say when you’ll meet, but trust me, you’ll love her.” (Costa Del Sol Beach)
Cloud has Zack’s SOLDIER attributes, but his memory loss/gain is a result of Jenova S-cells (Sephiroth). Cloud is Cloud- not Zack!
Sephiroth at the beginning of the end battle, “I’ve underestimated you…” He obviously sees Aerith ready to fight alongside Cloud.
At the very end, Cid casually asks, “What did Aerith do?”
No one really knows what is going on in the end.
Cloud at the end of OG, “I know I can find her (Aerith) in the Promised Land.”
Aerith said the Promised Land isn’t the Temple. If the Promised Land is the Lifestream, then why do those that go into the Lifestream keep dying, like Biggs and Wedge did? Is Jessie stuck between worlds with her father? No one knows- stage one.
But what if it does happen, will you hate the game series then? Or will you accept the truth?
But I worry about that line in the original FF7 trailer, “A LOVE that can never be.”
Act five in LOVELESS poem vs Act three in the performance hints to someone’s demise/return.
@@Gamingforfunpeace Clerith shipper copium always reads like 13 year old fan fiction read out loud hastily and out of breath with zero punctuation 😂
Fate in FF7 is the Planet surviving even if it means without humans.
It’s no different than what’s happening in 7R.
Great vid and analysis! Thank you.
They did a kingdom hearts on FF7... Now I love KH but you need a fucking red line and a corkboard to understand the lore
Such a spot on analysis, love what this is setting up for in part 3
Just a thought but this also all recontextualizes the advent children movie.
I HAVE heard that the developers were concerned about just breaking 7 into parts wouldn't fully deliver, that statement is true so it's logical that they've added a lot in order to "do tha thang."
The "Multiple Clouds, One Fragmented Mind" Theory you've created is great.
A disease affecting many, like a toxin, but also being a part of Sephiroth's resurrection or "second Advent," second coming, due to the "children."
There is likely a LOT more regarding that, I'd be delighted to hear what you think. Aerith, Zack, and Cloud's connection with each other but ALSO with Sephiroth will prove a bit of a miscalculation on Jenova's part perhaps.)
Thanks for listening!
EDIT: Oh one last thought, I wonder if Sephiroth meant that the true counterpart to the Black Materia was actually Aerith's WHITE Materia, which had been somehow hidden... and that maybe he had discovered/thought that what he really needed now was both of them in concert, rather than just Meteor.
Just watched your review episode, I wish you the very best and thank you for your work and content. Take care out there!!

That... may've.... no it came out correctly.
The rainbow effect might not mean a creation of the world but rather the signature of a path.
When the worlds merge back in the end, which path will Cloud take?
Yeah, it's for sure an indication relating to the "Worlds" in some way.
Cool stuff! Specially the Jenova stuff
"This time Zack and Aerith can die peacefully together."
Never cook again. Nomura didn't "remake" FF7 to feed trolls.
But now we know they’re not similar gameplay wise Zack is about quick charges in between slashes and punches whereas cloud is about countering
Loved it, cannot wait for Part 3! x)
Edit: After playing Crisis Core (between Remake and Rebirth) I had a hard time to romance Aerith because of Zack. x) I also wanted Zack back so bad - hopefully in Part Three! x)
Had to cut the Video because I thought of Rebirth Spoilers, not Part 3.
Is Faust an ode to TLOD?
No, my last name is Faustino. I just shortened it because it sounds better.
Orion85 make an excellent video about this topic as well
Its gotten to the point that they need to not take forever with the next part and we see the conclusion of this.
The remake series was already far and away their own thing
here is my question why is tifa having mental flashes in rebirth?
You tell us, kiss-on-cheek hombre

I havent played the game so im speaking as a Rebirth outsider. But ff7 original is still there. That story is going nowhere. I dont mind them trying to give us something just as good but different. Hopefully it does hold up in the quality department.
The 7th world is probably the original game
I think I’m now even more confused
Surprised you have such low sub count I subbed
Thanks for the sub! Really appreciate it!
Amazing video, thank you
Fantastic video 10/10
Probably better to look up words in a dictionary rather than Wikipedia. As a noun it means "a feeling of intense pleasure or joy" as in the phrase "the performance was met with rapturous applause". Sephiroth says "her ecstatic cries; her rapture" as a consolidation of his belief this is a good thing. He's not referencing the Christian rapture (which wouldn't make sense in this context anyway).
On the plus side, at least you didn't confuse it with the New York dance punk band.
How big of a jackass would the player feel if Sephiroth “unmaking the world” was the better outcome and you’re responsible for stopping him lol
Part 3 will be FF7 Rapture
