Here's me doing the same thing and MORE on a Gold Wing DCT ua-cam.com/video/3gy9ftbRk1k/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/jlo_3pJWkFU/v-deo.html hey fasteddy, you gotta see this"motorcycle advice" video. It's terrible advice targeting the ones who seriously need help or will end up hurt.
Bro you are truly the best riding teacher ever on UA-cam,I've learned so much from you.I can safely say you turned me into a confident rider😎Yo deserve a billion subs! 👌
Oh hi tommy!
Yeah, between Moto and DDFM, I feel like I am in great hands. Great riders who really understand the sport and are always striving to be better.
@@ericrolland9092 I agree, but don't forget MCRider!
Thank you. I have a street glide. Last week I finished power sweeping about 4000sq ft of parking lot for practice in preparation for the riding season. Already got about 30 tennis balls cut in half to mark off the course. Just got to wait for the last of the surprise March snowfalls to be done. (We’ve had two since.) Really appreciate your vlogs. From central British Columbia.
Loved doing those exercises in the MSF. Made me such a better rider and now I feel in control at low speed. It’s amazing at how much control you can gain working the clutch and throttle while dragging the rear brake. Blows my mind when I break it down, but necessary skills for all riders. Well done
Just started watching your channel, take the MFS course soon. Being a jiu jitsu guy I really enjoy how you incorporate that into your teaching, for me I grasp easier that way. Looking forward to my first bike. Keep up the great work 🤙
Great point made about knowing the feel of the bike for the maneuver. Definitely good a point on practicing on other bikes. A buddy of mine brought it his Yamaha warrior and I tried going through blue belt spaces and was so thrown off by the rake, throttle catch and hydraulic clutch, I just couldn't perform the u turn in that exercise. I had to start all over with white belt. It's funny how used to the Road king I have gotten, but I can perform lots more technical exercises on it. Pretty much everything up to brown belt is easy for me on that bike. This tells me I need to branch off on other bikes to really master the techniques.
Whoever can pull that off is a good driver. I applied this and many other things over my "winter break" ( i drive all year as long as there is no snow and ice, there is no "too cold" there is only bad gear ) to improve my driving skills.
Started doing moto gymkhana last year. That'll get you over your fear of full lock full lean turns real quick. It's my favorite thing to do now. Even more than the track. It's so technical and requires enormous skill. And it's not too risky since it's low speed.
Thanks so much for posting refreshing to see some of those besides the other two rides low UA-cam pros
Incredible ability. Encourages me to keep improving. Thank you for sharing.
i love you great job teaching this kind of stuff and demonstrating it, greetings from Mexico!
The thing is, the bike matters. One a motorcycle I'm fine but nothing special. I have four of them and my sumo makes parking lot exercises a breeze while taller and heavier bikes can do it if you're skilled enough. Also, if you need to catch the bike, the sumo is easy while a bigger adventure bike is tougher because of its weight and height.
Just because motojitsu can make do tight turns on any bike doesn't mean that it's not harder on one bike versus another. I wish he'd make this point.
Please do more Onlyusemeblade coverage, thanks. And I think Greg is saying that you should focus on your technique and practice rather than what kind of bike you have, an excuse I've heard thrown about as justification for not practicing parking lot maneuvers, etc.
he has made that point. he's said before "i wish i could take some people and put them on a different bike and they'd automatically be a better rider". the point of these videos is that it *can* be done; if it was easy on any bike, he wouldn't have to make videos like this.
Good exercise to practice Thanks for the reminder. You all keep it up on two's and may God bless the road you are on WCMC
That was good chit man. "Look where you want to be in the next second or two". As a "white belt", I had no idea what the "blue belt", and "brown belt" was doing. I believe I have just upped my game.
Very nice riding skills. Last year, I stopped riding after 54 years on two wheels - father time and mother nature, ya know. I was fairly handy on my bikes but never got to your last skill level - looking the other direction or whatever while turning. That's pretty cool and don't think I've ever seen that before. Thanks.
Informative..thank you!
That got my attention.... looking in the opposite direction of the turn! Well done.
agreed. he was pretty damn stable
Superb tuition and demonstration.
I watch all of your content, Thanks for all of them. Any chance you could show this on a Wide Glide?
Great job on the videos, keep up the good work
Damn. Thanks for motivating. I'll practice for hours and hours this summer!
I do some lazy 8's after work just to learn turning better, and warm up, amazing what this does for my confidence,,,thank You O/O°
Thanks. I need to practice this. I’m riding a Zero S and it’s got no clutch. I need to use the rear brake for this. I am fine on my Harley just with the clutch.
Congurulations my friend...I admire your instructing ability and hard work a.k.a. talent:)
I ride a roadstar 1900, which is a long wheelbase bike. Using the same technique, can spin those circles all day. Good video
I did my IBT (initial Bike Training) with Tony Moore here in Ireland, he's like the Yoda of biking in Ireland and he drills it into everyone how important back brake and clutch control in in slow speed manoeuvres, you do a 8hrs in a closed carpark riding through cones and you'd loose a stone in body weight from sweating, it's an intense day but well worth it
Nice vid brother! What gloves are those that you are wearing?
I always watch the rider's body during transitions from left to right to left, etc. Reminds me of skiing a nice, long slalom run. You always have your head and chest facing downhill. It's the same on a bike when you're weaving those cones. At least, that's how it has always felt to me.
Thank you, I love this Vblog. I haven't seen many control Vblogs for my bike FLHCS. RLTW
Thanks dude that helps
Great video!! I have no experience with using my rear brake for small circles and 8's. I'll be practicing this very soon!
You’re such a good rider very impressive I can only hope cheers
Looking at the SHOEI helmet what model? Looks like a good one for glasses wearers. I need to work on all of those pointers at slow speed too. Thanks for the demonstrations.
I need to practice this so bad.
I'm on a sport bike with higher pegs, am I looking to scrape pegs like this to determine my lean angle?
😁love doing it on my ST1100 on busy days looking for a space at the mall😄, the size, barely no speed and leaaan! make people wide-eyed😁...a bit of vanity☺️
Hey I’m just getting into riding, can you do a video recommending gear for new riders in a hot, tropical climate? Tanks.
Can you make a video of the same practice but with the mt 07. It is me I know but to me he is not stable enough
Excellent video! Can you tell me what you're wearing for gloves?
Thankyou!
Thanks!
No problem!
I have the same make and model bike. I’m wondering what bars are those, and how tall they are?
Hoping for more slow speed sport bike stuff. Especially help with low speed full lock..i feel there is nowhere for my hands at full lock
I miss San Diego. Riding all year long was great!
I felt today look where you want to go is irrelevant if you know when and where you lean
I wear my Harley jacket when I ride my BMW 😃 Good job bro, you look like you’re having fun 😎
Love the LPD gloves!
Way to shine those foot boards up!!!
What gloves are you wearing here?
I'm not going to lie, when I took my local motorcycle driving school I quickly realized that if you do what the instructor says, and don't think about it, you can make the bike do just about anything. I was slightly hesitant at first, but when I stopped being afraid and just did what I was told I became instantly better. I realized what he said is exactly what needs to happen and that was the moment I became a better driver. Don't fear, listen and just do. If you do exactly what he says you excel so much faster. And trust me the bike can do it, you are the limiting factor not the bike. I drove a big Honda Shadow and weaved just as well as the guys on tiny bikes. I enjoyed the quick emergency avoid maneuvers so much at that point because it seemed impossible but I saw him do it, so I just did it and it was a cake walk. Have to humble yourself and admit you don't know anything so you can listen and learn something. Keep telling yourself you can't do it and you never will do it. Best advice I can give is humble yourself, admit you know nothing and listen learn and do exactly what they say and it will be so easy. Otherwise you are literally fighting yourself and limiting yourself.
Anything left of those floorboards?
I like how the throttle never changes. Engine sounds the same both directions.
You are The King ❤...
Nothing like the sound of an HD!
Impressive👌👌👌
Love the scraping noises!! The more you hear, the sharper you can turn. Its all replaceable isn't it!?!
What gloves are those?
"scrape, scape," "bike doesn't matter," "scrape, scrape, scrraaaape"
The heritage rides itself. I was surprised how well. It is very well balanced.
Harley touring are more difficult.
You’re just showing off now 😎
Nice.
i dont know if you done this, but would it be possible for you to do the CHP moto school? i know they have a lot of videos but it would be cool to see you try it out with their bikes and stuff.
1:14 Ahhhh the skidding noise.. T_T lol hoping those come with skid plates
I have the same helmet and jacket
The falt is always the nut between the handlebars!
As we here in the south are experiencing at the moment, high winds, it would be nice to see a video about how to properly handle riding in high winds.
Dammit yo good!!!
Very interesting. Not applicable with my chopper. Lol. It's got like no turning radius. It also has no front brake. Old panhead chopper. But I know how to ride it. You can do all kinds of stuff that my sled will never do. I need half that parking lot to turn around.
Have you been in Laos, you'd also calculated a change and talked on a phone squeezed between shoulder and cheek.
Need to check the battery on that Harley.
The last one was pretty crazy. Hahaha. Well done though.
Thank you...RLTW
Skills
This is a 2019 Harley Davidson?... Heritage Classic, that use to have floor boards hahaha!
That windshield is massive😨
King
Respect to ma'am who always stays with you, helping you record and build on this legacy 🤗
When I took my class, they didn’t have a bike that I could reach the floor with, so they gave me this cruiser bike but didn’t tell me until after that it would be harder to turn at low speeds. They didn’t tell me this so that I could work harder at learning skill than blaming the bike! Turned out to be the best tested rider in a class filled with dual sports. 😁
It's sad how many bikers dont know this nor use it.
Oops, Sorry about your pipes, at least when someone asks the owner how the scratches happened, they can say, yeah... I didn't do that🤪 great skills man.
Just as an observation, that bike seems to be dragging the crash bars right after the peg feelers touch down. Seems really dangerous. Maybe the person should consider getting a different set of crash bars that sit a bit higher.
That scraping sound is the edge of the floorboards. No pegs on this bike.
@@KodiakCO Sure, fine. Take a closer look at the crash bars. If he leans just a bit more, those things would touch the ground and lever the front wheel off the pavement.
@@pvsteadi The floor boards are hitting first indicating he's maxed out lean angle. My HD Electra Glide is the same way.
bUh, mY bIkE iS dIfFeReNt,
jokes aside, I think it would be hilarious to see you do things like this with something crazy like a boss hoss or the jet bike
He does have a playlist of him doing silly drills on a bunch of different bikes, but I hope he does some crazy weird bike too lol
❤️
Awesome! can help post this same technique using Royal Enfield bullet?
Holy shit! Freaking Jedi.
Definitely going to practice more. Did anyone else cringe at the scraping sounds?
The addition of the rear brake made the turns way tighter, and added a lot of control and safety at parking lot speeds. Which is why many of us responded to a recent survey the way we did: good control and achieving the tightest low speed turns requires the rear brake.
Your videos relly helps me not to become a KAMOTE rider🤘🤘🇵🇭🇵🇭
It looks like you used a lot of what I had been told is body english to turn the bike in circles and figure eights.
Heard numerous metal scrapping noises during turns = not good on a Harley Davidson.
Someone send this to Yammie Noob's Henchman, my man claimed the DRZ "isn't a truly capable off-road bike". ITS NOT THE BIKE, ITS THE RIDER!
Do cruisers like that have a "scrape" alert (like a curb feeler) to let you hear / feel the scrape before it becomes dangerous?
That scraping sound is the edge of the floorboards. The floorboards are hinged. As Ive started practicing, I scrape the floorboards a lot without issue on a 05 Electra Glide.
I don't know, aside from an onboard computer that senses speed and angle, that it could be done. The faster and sharper the turn, the more you need to lean. Leaning at 45° at one turn could be perfect at 30 mph, but the same turn at 60 mph would mean a floorboard scraping steeper angle to make the turn. I feel like, when I hear the floorboards scrape, that's my warning the I'm getting close to maximum speed and angle.
@@KodiakCOHuh. I've only never ridden a cruiser. Thanks for the input.
That's why I run a literbike. Way moar nut to get you out of certain situations that other bikes can't
What? Lol this video isn't about power at all
Aggh, it sucks that you can ride my bike better than me.
#savesoil
Your mic & output volume needs boosting. By using rear brake, therefore you need brakes much faster than regular traveling. Get rid of those scraping floor boards. They are dangerous. Will never have floor boards on my bikes, ever.
Captain Obivious
BMW logo on your gear and not riding a BMW?
White helmet? This guys a cop don't trust him!
i use a "reflective green police like color!" west for cycling, those were some funny scenes, car slowing down and even switching drivers lol....
Worked.at a Harley dealership when I was in highschool, so it should go without saying that I'll never buy one. Terrible machines.
can you gift me racing suite? :D :D :D
